Biography

Isrock, the New World, and the Lunar Scourge

Ling Chen begins as a young man whose world has narrowed to Ling Shui Ruo. She is dying from Isrock, and his overriding purpose is to keep her alive after conventional medicine has failed. When Yun Feng offers the experimental drug 13223 in exchange for helping Yun Meng Xin inside Mystic Moon, Ling Chen accepts the bargain without pretending that games or guild politics matter to him. His promise is born from debt and desperation: if the drug gives Shui Ruo a future, he will repay its price. (Chapters 2–6)

Entering the new world as Ling Tian, he quickly reveals the conditioning hidden beneath his quiet domestic life. He survives a fatal-looking fall, defeats the Greedy Giant Toad while still a novice, and treats apparently impossible trials as problems of timing, observation, and nerve. Those victories are not merely demonstrations of talent. They establish a pattern that governs his later choices: he is willing to enter situations with catastrophic failure conditions when the reward might protect Shui Ruo or strengthen his ability to honor a promise. (Chapters 7–42)

That pattern leads him to the Lunar Scourge, an ancient and feared device that initially attacks his mind. Ling Chen conquers its will rather than submitting, awakening Qi Yue and receiving the Gemini Orb from Tao Tie. He learns that the artifact is incomplete, pursued by the Moon God Clan, and dependent on twelve God Orbs and three Saint Orbs. The Gemini Orb's dual-weapon effect makes the Scourge immediately useful, but the warning attached to it makes every later restoration step a calculated danger. (Chapters 43–55)

His victory in the Hall of Heroic Souls adds the Ling Tian Battle Soul inheritance, a profession built almost entirely around attack. The trial validates both his combat sense and his refusal to accept the limits expected of a new player, yet it also gives him a power set with few protective tools. Soon afterward, Xi Ling sacrifices herself to destroy the War Demon Beast and save him. Ling Chen refuses to regard her life as expendable, binds her so she can be restored, and promises that companionship will not become ownership. (Chapters 56–113)

Heart’s Dream and the First Guild

Ling Chen returns to the Hall of Heroic Souls and exploits the reward negotiations to obtain multiple hidden inheritances for Yun Meng Xin's small circle, including one suitable for Shui Ruo. He formally joins Heart's Dream because he owes Yun Feng, but he does not treat the arrangement casually: once committed, he supplies the group with opportunities no ordinary guild could reach. At the same time, he masks the connection between Ling Tian and his real identity, reasoning that public fame would place Shui Ruo directly in the path of his enemies. (Chapters 114–165)

His acquisition of the first Guild Creation Token turns his private agreement into a continent-wide political issue. Ling Chen uses the token, its auction, and his own growing reputation to frustrate Long Tian Yun and the Yan Huang Alliance while securing resources for Heart's Dream. The campaign shows that he is not only a duelist: he can manipulate expectations, prices, timing, and public humiliation as weapons. It also begins a rivalry in which attacks on his companions become inseparable from attacks on him. (Chapters 166–194)

The Sword Emperor forces Ling Chen to confront a wound he had buried rather than resolved. Her techniques recall the girl he knew as Butterfly Dance, and he eventually tells Shui Ruo the history behind Tian Ya and Adam: childhood with Xuanyuan Dia Wu, abduction into the Heaven research program as Number 1353, survival in Hell, and the violent return that ended in Zhong Zhou. Shui Ruo's response changes the meaning of disclosure for him. His past remains brutal, but it no longer has to be carried alone or used only as fuel for revenge. (Chapters 195–220)

The Road South and the Fairy Realm

Ling Chen travels south seeking the Vermillion Bird's aid for Xi Ling, but the journey first brings another dependent into his life. After the celestial disturbance that delivers Tian Tian, he protects Shui Ruo from the impact, distrusts the stranger's story, and nevertheless gives the homeless girl shelter. Tian Tian's gradual place beside the siblings expands the family Ling Chen believes he must defend. It also exposes a gentler competence beneath his severity: he sets limits, absorbs disruption, and allows affection to outlast suspicion. (Chapters 221–241)

Inside the Fairy Realm, an apparent imprisonment becomes an opportunity to connect isolated peoples and acquire the Feng Chen Curse Zanni inheritance from Xiao Feng Chen. The profession's concealment, movement, and mind-affecting curses complement the direct force of the Ling Tian Battle Soul, while the Pisces Orb advances restoration of the Lunar Scourge. Ling Chen escapes the Lunar Sky Hell rather than accepting the realm's intended confinement, but he leaves with relationships that later make the Fairy Clan central to both Shui Ruo's preservation and the construction of a new city. (Chapters 242–289)

At Vermillion Bird City, Ling Chen continues the chain of bargains and ordeals needed to restore Xi Ling and help Xiao Qi survive the power within her Heavenly Sun Arteries. The Vermillion Bird's intervention exacts a genuine cost rather than offering a convenient cure, reinforcing his growing awareness that power is often transferred through another person's sacrifice. His success is therefore emotionally double-edged: Xi Ling can return, and Xiao Qi gains a future, but every rescue adds another life and promise to the circle he feels personally responsible for preserving. (Chapters 290–304)

That belief collapses into catastrophe when Instructor Hell returns. Ling Chen and Fey defeat their former tormentor only after a battle that leaves Ling Chen gravely injured, and Shui Ruo exhausts herself caring for him. The supposed Isrock treatment then activates as poison, killing her during the Long family's assault. Ling Chen answers with a massacre and nearly dies pursuing vengeance before Dia Wu intervenes. When Qi Yue explains that the Lunar Scourge can preserve Shui Ruo and names the impossible ingredients for resurrection, grief becomes a new absolute mission. (Chapters 305–372)

The resurrection quest soon intersects with Yun Meng Xin's threatened future. Ling Chen discovers the Dwarf Clan, obtains the City Creation Token, and helps connect the dwarves' craft with the Fairy Clan's protected territory. He entrusts the emerging city to Yun Meng Xin rather than claiming civic authority for himself, but supplies the irreplaceable resources that make it possible. The decision shows his grief widening into constructive loyalty: the same relentless drive that could annihilate a household can also create a refuge for displaced peoples and his companions. (Chapters 373–402)

Calamity in the East Ocean Continent

Using the Dwarves' World Boundary Scroll, Ling Chen crosses into the East Ocean Continent ahead of the normal international opening. His declared purpose remains the resurrection trail, not conquest, but local players rapidly turn his presence into a national contest. He defeats celebrated experts and large forces while refusing demands that he retreat or submit. The resulting legend of a single Chinese player humiliating an entire region magnifies his influence, yet it also makes discretion nearly impossible and ensures that every move toward the next Lunar Scourge orb produces another conflict. (Chapters 403–418)

After taking the Libra Orb from the Evil Black Dragon's domain, Ling Chen identifies the Scorpio Orb on the Cherry Blossom Moon God Representative. His pursuit crosses an important moral line. He harasses, deceives, and eventually uses Feng Chen curses and theft skills to strip the orb from an opponent whose duty is to guard it. The success restores another portion of the Lunar Scourge, but the methods demonstrate that his devotion to Shui Ruo does not make his choices benevolent; he repeatedly treats another person's autonomy as expendable when it obstructs his chosen rescue. (Chapters 419–454)

The theft escalates into battles that devastate major guilds and Sunrise City, after which Ling Chen uses the Soulstealing Curse to bind the exhausted Moon God Representative as Snow Cherry. He then climbs Godchild Peak and recovers the Aquarius Orb from the mystic ice before turning toward the White Tiger's clue. These victories prove his adaptability across armies, guardians, and extreme terrain, but the trail he leaves is deliberately calamitous. His willingness to accept mass collateral damage becomes one of the darkest consequences of making resurrection his sole moral horizon. (Chapters 455–492)

The Defense and Founding of Ling Tian City

At Su’Er's birthday banquet, Ling Chen brings his hidden identity and his revenge into the same public space. He exposes Xuanyuan Xue Yi's crimes, protects Su'Er from being used in the family's arrangements, and breaks the prestige of the faction he holds responsible for Shui Ruo's death. The confrontation is carefully prepared rather than impulsive, but its aim is still punitive. It also makes concealment harder: people close to Su'Er now understand that the feared Ling Tian and the survivor Tian Ya belong to one life. (Chapters 493–517)

His search for the White Tiger's Heart brings the Taurus Orb, the Thunder God's Bulwark, and another costly guardian legacy. While he is away, Yan Huang and its allies attack the unfinished city created by the fairies, dwarves, and Heart's Dream. Ling Chen returns to a defense already sustained by Yun Meng Xin and his companions, reunites with the restored Xi Ling, and turns his exceptional area damage against the invading armies. His role is decisive, but the battle teaches that the city exists because a community held together before its strongest defender arrived. (Chapters 518–600)

The settlement opens as Ling Tian City, with Yun Meng Xin as its governing center and Ling Chen as its most feared shield. Its commercial success challenges the Forgotten City, bringing imperial pressure and renewed violence rather than simple recognition. Ling Chen answers threats against the new polity as personal violations and retaliates with the same uncompromising logic he uses for family. Founding the city therefore marks real development—he now defends a multiethnic society and shared project—but it does not cure his tendency to answer coercion with overwhelming force. The Underworld and the Forgotten City

Ling Chen enters the Underworld to reach the Blood Lake required for the Demon Emperor's resurrection. Its trials force him through hostile roads and into battle with the dead War God Chi Xuan Wu Hen, testing the Ling Tian inheritance against its own historical standard. His Feng Chen abilities let him bypass or destabilize opponents that cannot be defeated cleanly by ordinary attacks, while his persistence earns notice from powers that initially see a living intruder. The expedition turns a forbidden afterlife into another negotiable stage of Shui Ruo's recovery. (Chapters 636–655)

The awakening of Leng’Er as the Underworld King's lost daughter transforms his relationship with the realm. Ling Chen is drawn into a marriage arrangement he did not seek, but he refuses to abandon Leng'Er and gains the king's recognition, the Underworld Royal Earrings, and access to forces no surface city can match. His behavior mixes care, opportunism, and evasion: he values Leng'Er as a person, accepts the alliance needed for his goals, and postpones the emotional consequences of a title imposed through Underworld custom. (Chapters 656–670)

When the Forgotten Empire attacks Ling Tian City, Ling Chen returns with Underworld forces and converts defense into punitive invasion. He pursues the Forgotten Emperor, burns much of the old capital, and uses terror to ensure that the city will not be threatened in the same way again. The victory secures Ling Tian City's sovereignty and brings weapons such as the Underworld God Cannon, yet its disproportionate destruction exposes the danger in his protective creed. His reunion with Fey soon afterward restores an old bond, not the lives erased by his retaliation. (Chapters 671–701)

The Moon God Palace and the Shura’s Return

Qi Yue's disclosure that 13223 was poison finally reveals how thoroughly Ling Chen's original bargain was manipulated. The Fairy Fountain has purified Shui Ruo's preserved body, but Yun Meng Xin and Su'Er contract Isrock, forcing him to relive the same helplessness. Sha Sha saves them through the mysterious power in her blood. Soon afterward, Ling Chen learns that he is Long Tian Ya and meets his mother, Gu Qing Han. He accepts the truth of kinship without allowing it to erase the Long family's violence or the years she remained absent. (Chapters 702–726)

Fey's return gives Ling Chen a partner for the infiltration of the Moon God Palace, where the remaining Scourge components and Moon Goddess blood lie beyond protections designed for gods. Their raid depends on coordination learned long before Mystic Moon, but even their combined skill cannot simply overpower the palace. The pursuit ends with imprisonment in the Lunar Sky Hell. Faced with permanent confinement and Shui Ruo's unfinished resurrection, Ling Chen chooses the Shura inheritance despite knowing that its power historically destroys its wielder's reason. Ling Chen's mental strength lets him retain himself through the first transformation into Shura. He escapes, obtains the Moon God Orb and the Lunar Scourge Divine Spear, and seizes the remaining resurrection materials, including Moon Goddess blood and the Demon Emperor's soul. Qi Yue then forms the Fate-Defying Heavenly Orb. Resurrection still cannot proceed without the Sun God Orb, so the greatest concentration of power he has ever held does not immediately solve the loss that motivated it. (Chapters 747–782)

The returning Shura does not initially behave like the mindless destroyer of legend. Ling Chen uses the profession's immense power to protect Ling Tian City and the continent from the demonic crisis, distinguishing targets even while wielding attacks capable of erasing armies. This control validates his belief that will can redirect a cursed inheritance, and his intervention breaks the immediate catastrophe. It remains an unstable victory, however: the Shura's deepest state is linked to extreme emotion, and Ling Chen has not yet been tested by the deliberate destruction of every attachment holding his identity together. (Chapters 783–800)

The Godchild Crisis and Qi Xing

Ling Chen's search for the missing Sha Sha brings him into conflict with Qi Xing and exposes Qi Yue's long deception. Sha Sha is the Godchild around whom the larger plan turns, while the Fate-Defying Heavenly Orb is stolen before it can be used as Ling Chen intended. He nevertheless judges Sha Sha by the compassion she has shown rather than by her origin or potential. Protecting her becomes a conscious choice against both cosmic calculation and Qi Yue's manipulation, even though it appears to cost him Shui Ruo's only route back. (Chapters 801–813)

Qi Xing then makes Ling Chen believe that everyone he loves has been killed. Betrayal, grief, and powerlessness strip away the restraint that survived his first Shura transformation, producing the Extreme Shura. He destroys enemies, allies, and finally Earth itself without meaningful discrimination. The episode is the ultimate failure of his protective identity: once persuaded there is no one left to protect, he turns the force accumulated for rescue into universal punishment. Later revelations that the deaths were illusions and the victims were displaced cannot make his response less catastrophic. (Chapters 814–824)

On Xiya, reunion and the blood of his surviving kin restore Ling Chen's consciousness, but Qi Xing remains a Quasi-God opponent who cannot be overcome by ordinary damage. He pursues her through a battle in which Shura is unmatched at the same power level, while her regenerative existence makes that advantage insufficient. Qi Yue ultimately sends the Sun God Orb and places the moon within reach, allowing Ling Chen to invoke God-Killing Moon. The attack destroys the celestial source used to amplify the Lunar Scourge and annihilates Qi Xing when lesser force could not. (Chapters 825–837)

Xiya and the Perfect Moon

Ling Chen finds Sha Sha hiding in a superdimensional space, consumed by guilt over the lives used to create her. He feigns collapse to draw her close, then rejects the claim that her affection was merely manufactured. Rather than absolving the atrocity behind her existence, he gives her a way to live with it: the lost lives are not permission for self-destruction but an obligation carried forward. His persuasion succeeds because he addresses her as family, not as a weapon, prize, or abstract Godchild. (Chapters 838–839)

Earth's destruction is reversed through Lachesis, whose item soul Mo'Er explains that its time authority can restore the planet by one day. Sha Sha supplies the True God power needed to activate it, and Ling Chen accepts the artifact's limits when it cannot simply return one year to rescue Shui Ruo. Unknown to him, Qi Yue uses the completed Fate-Defying Heavenly Orb on Shui Ruo. He returns expecting another unfinished struggle and instead finds his sister awake, making the resurrection the result of several other people's sacrifices and choices as much as his own quest. (Chapters 839–842)

In the years that follow, Ling Chen remains based with his household at the Bamboo Sea Wonderland on Earth and uses Lachesis to enter the Mystic Moon planet physically, where the Moon God Palace also becomes a residence for him and Shui Ruo. He eventually understands Qi Yue's sacrifice and survival through their linked artifact souls, while his own Rashu godly soul awakens beyond the Shura inheritance. Eight years after Mystic Moon begins, he creates the Perfect Moon and shares responsibility for the reincarnated Qi Xing rather than repeating their war. His ending does not erase his atrocities; it places formerly destructive power inside a chosen household and a continuing duty of care. (Chapters 843–850)

Appearance and personality

Ling Chen is a striking young man whose calm, dark gaze and controlled bearing often make him seem colder than his age. In Mystic Moon, he commonly conceals his face behind the Evil God’s Mask, separating the famous Ling Tian from the brother living quietly with Shui Ruo. Years of experimentation and combat conditioning make his build deceptively powerful rather than bulky, and his movements remain economical even outside the game. His expressions soften most readily around Shui Ruo and the small circle he accepts as family. (Chapters 2–6, 119–123, 214–220)

His defining virtues and faults spring from the same intensity. Ling Chen is loyal, observant, inventive under pressure, and unusually serious about promises. He offers displaced people shelter, repays sacrifice, and repeatedly risks himself for companions. Yet he is also proud, possessive of responsibility, and capable of appalling cruelty toward anyone he labels an enemy. He uses deception, coercive curses, collective punishment, and overwhelming retaliation without consistently weighing innocent harm. His tenderness is genuine, but it does not automatically restrain the violence created by trauma and absolute devotion. (Chapters 166–194, 419–476, 671–701)

Over time, Ling Chen learns to let other people participate in the future he is trying to secure. Yun Meng Xin governs the city he enables, Shui Ruo hears the history he once hid, Sha Sha is allowed to define herself beyond her creation, and even Qi Xing's reincarnation is treated as a child rather than an inherited enemy. That development is incomplete rather than redemptively simple. His loss of control as Extreme Shura proves that private love without a wider moral boundary can become annihilating, and the restored world survives because others repair what he destroyed. (Chapters 601–629, 814–850)

Abilities and powers

Physical and mental conditioning

Before Mystic Moon, Ling Chen survived the Heaven organization's experiments as Number 1353 and the lethal training ground called Hell as Adam. Those experiences left him with superhuman strength, speed, perception, pain tolerance, recovery, and practical mastery of unarmed and armed killing. More unusually, he can resist mental invasion and imposed control, the quality that lets him conquer the Lunar Scourge and later retain consciousness after inheriting Shura. These abilities exist in his real body and should not be confused with statistics granted by an in-game profession. (Chapters 43–47, 214–220, 305–313)

His conditioning has limits. Instructor Hell can still injure him nearly to death, accumulated wounds can immobilize him, and emotional manipulation can defeat judgment even when direct mind control fails. Extreme Shura emerges because Qi Xing breaks his psychological anchors rather than overpowering his ordinary reason through a simple status effect. By the conclusion, his awakened Rashu soul carries him across the threshold from Quasi-God to True God, but the supplied chapters do not quantify a complete post-awakening combat ruleset. Ling Tian Battle Soul and Ling Tian War God

The War God's inheritance begins as Ling Tian Battle Soul, an offense-specialized profession with virtually no native healing, defense, or crowd control. Ling Tian Slash and Ling Tian Burst provide efficient single-target and area attacks; Four Corners Star Formation expands his coverage; Battle Soul Possession temporarily magnifies attack at defensive cost. Soul Sacrifice is his signature early multiplier: it reduces him to one health point, prevents recovery for its duration, and sharply increases physical and magical attack while removing skill consumption. Its output is exceptional, but a single successful hit can end the attempt. (Chapters 56–81, 124–165)

The inheritance later evolves into Ling Tian War God, strengthening its core attacks and adding techniques such as Boundless Desolation, Eight Direction Annihilation, War God's Fury, and Extinguishing Tempest. The last is a devastating focused strike with broad secondary damage and a long recovery period; the profession's emperor technique briefly removes attack delay and makes him invulnerable. These tools remain direct combat methods, not a balanced kit. War God's Fury lowers survivability, and its major attack increase cannot be meaningfully stacked with stronger Shura transformations that suppress or supersede it. (Chapters 578–585, 747–756)

Feng Chen Curse Zanni

The Feng Chen inheritance supplies what his War God path lacks: extreme mobility, concealment, escape, theft, and curses that alter perception or conviction. Feng Chen Technique permits agile movement through air and dangerous terrain, Broken Shadow creates explosive speed, and Vanishing Shadow conceals him until its duration ends or hostile action breaks it. True Lucky Hand steals from targets without normal looting conditions. These abilities let Ling Chen cross fortifications and solve encounters without matching an enemy's raw defenses, though concealment does not make him invulnerable and repeated high-grade techniques retain cooldown limits. Its curses include Complete Belief, Lovey Lovey, Sheep, Scaredy Cat, Utter Despair, and Soulstealing. They impose beliefs, emotional fixation, transformation, terror, despair, or obedience, but success depends on the relationship between Ling Chen's mental force and the target's resistance. Their effects are not ethically neutral: he uses them for escape and battlefield disruption, but also to humiliate opponents, steal the Scorpio Orb, and bind Snow Cherry. Becoming Feng Chen Sect Leader strengthens the inheritance; it does not remove the need to overcome resistant minds or the consequences of coercing them. (Chapters 267–269, 446–476, 578–585)

Lunar Scourge

The Lunar Scourge is both a weapon system and the framework that connects much of Ling Chen's development. Each recovered orb restores attributes or a specialized rule-breaking effect, while the Gemini Orb lets him equip two weapons simultaneously and combine their bonuses without preventing independent use. Other orbs negate costs, reset cooldowns under defined conditions, or unlock lunar techniques. The system is therefore strongest when its components interact: Aries can cancel otherwise permanent Shura sacrifices, while Libra can sometimes restore a used skill. These protections depend on the equipped, restored Scourge rather than Ling Chen's unaided body. (Chapters 43–55, 419–454, 747–782)

When completed with the Lunar Scourge Orbs, the artifact manifests the Lunar Scourge Divine Spear. Heaven's Tears delivers enormous damage across a vast area, consumes equally enormous magical power, and leaves the spear unavailable for a day. God-Killing Moon is far more restrictive: it requires a suitable full or broken moon, destroys that moon as part of the attack, disables the spear for months, and has a cooldown measured in centuries that ordinary reset effects cannot bypass. Ling Chen uses it against Qi Xing only after lesser Shura attacks prove unable to overcome her existence. (Chapters 757–782, 825–837)

The Scourge is not an unlimited independent source of power. Its highest lunar techniques need actual moonlight and a viable celestial target, its missing or stolen orbs can disable key functions, and early use risks discovery by the Moon God Clan. Qi Yue's control of its knowledge also allows her to steer Ling Chen for much of the story. By the end, his creation of the Perfect Moon and awakening as Rashu suggest authority beyond his former dependence, but the text does not provide a complete new numerical ruleset for that state. (Chapters 43–55, 727–782, 843–850)

Shura

Shura is an overwhelmingly destructive profession that magnifies attack, health, range, penetration, and resistance to abnormal states while rejecting normal affiliations and rankings. Its basic techniques include Merciless Slash, Shura's Exterminating Slash, and large-scale executions. Sacrificial Slaughter damages everything in a wide field according to Ling Chen's current health while imposing lasting costs and a healing prohibition; Extreme Shura Death Domain expands destruction over kilometers at the price of levels and permanent attributes. The restored Aries Orb can negate many of those user costs, producing a combination far safer for Ling Chen than for anyone around him. (Chapters 747–756)

Burning Heart Blood Massacre grants absolute offensive properties and extreme range but ordinarily strips away consciousness and senses, while Heavenly Judgment greatly increases attack as unhealable flames consume the user's life. Shura Burning Heart can supersede Soul Sacrifice and War God Fury rather than multiplying freely with them. The Thunder God's Bulwark counters part of Heavenly Judgment's lightning interaction, and the Lunar Scourge can cancel some listed sacrifices, but neither artifact guarantees judgment. The profession's most important limitation is psychological: overwhelming grief can turn its wielder into indiscriminate destruction. (Chapters 747–756, 814–824)

At comparable power, Shura gives Ling Chen superior combat output even against Qi Xing, but raw damage cannot initially kill an enemy whose existence continually restores itself. He therefore needs the Lunar Scourge, the Sun God Orb, and God-Killing Moon to finish that battle. The unknown power that produces Extreme Shura explicitly destroys his Ling Tian War God, Feng Chen Sect Leader, and prior Shura professions; the story does not later restore those game-system classes. By Chapter 850 his Rashu soul has awakened and carried him from Quasi-God to True God, after which he creates the Perfect Moon. This is his latest state, although the complete abilities and costs of that awakened form remain only partially explained. (Chapters 815, 825–850)

Relationships

• Ling Shui Ruo is Ling Chen's adoptive sister, emotional center, and eventual romantic partner. His attempt to cure and then resurrect her drives most of his choices. She gives him a home after Hell, receives the history he cannot tell others, and repeatedly draws tenderness from a man otherwise organized around combat. His love is sustaining but dangerously absolute: believing her dead helps turn him into Extreme Shura. (Chapters 2–6, 214–220, 305–372, 814–842)
• Qi Yue awakens as the Lunar Scourge's spirit and becomes his guide, tempter, and principal manipulator. She supplies essential knowledge and helps make Shui Ruo's resurrection possible, but withholds her true goal, engineers major choices, and steals the Fate-Defying Heavenly Orb.
