Underworld God Cannon

The Underworld God Cannon is a Dwarven “god-killing” siege weapon whose destructive power deters even the Moon God Clan. A recovered blueprint and study of the ancient original allow Ling Tian City’s Dwarves to build a stronger successor.

History

A lost blueprint returns to the Dwarves

Ling Chen buys the ancient blueprint and rare Underworld God Mysterious Blood Metal from Qian Gun Gun. When he later reaches the isolated Dwarf Clan, Dilo and Elder Dita identify the plan as an ancestral holy work they had believed inaccessible in the Underworld. Ling Chen gives it to them, restoring both a lost craft tradition and a possible strategic defense for their future home. (Chapters 293–294, 396, 401–405)

Materials without a working example

In Ling Tian City, the Dwarves combine the plan with the White Tiger’s Heart, Vermillion Bird’s Heart, exceptional energy cores, and the rare metal. Even these materials do not immediately solve the design: Dita admits that the blueprint’s principles exceed their understanding and believes that studying the original would shorten years of reconstruction. The city’s strongest smiths consequently remain devoted to the project while ordinary production continues around them. (Chapters 624, 635, 727)

The Underworld’s deterrent visits the surface

The Underworld King refuses to surrender the original because it is his realm’s greatest treasure and a stabilizing symbol for the Undead, but he agrees to lend it for inspection. Before reaching Ling Tian City, he points it at the Forgotten City while defending Ling Chen, and the threat forces the emperor and God Representative to accept Ling Tian City’s terms. He then delivers it to the Dwarves for one day of study. (Chapters 680–693)

An upgraded cannon defends Ling Tian City

Using the blueprint, materials, and direct reference, the Dwarves complete a larger, upgraded Cannon within months. Its first shot crosses kilometres, wipes out an immense demon-beast formation, and leaves a vast crater while shaking the city behind it. Sixteen high-grade energy-core cannonballs are available for that battle, making ammunition finite even though each blast is overwhelming. The weapon prevents the invading army from reaching Ling Tian City. (Chapters 788–790)

Abilities and properties

  • God-killing destructive force: The original is described as capable of flattening mountains, erasing a city, and seriously injuring true gods. The upgraded copy annihilates every visible demon beast across a multi-kilometre impact area. These claims concern direct destructive output, not automatic accuracy against every mobile divine target. (Chapters 692, 788)
  • Strategic deterrence: Possession of the original helps keep the Moon God Clan from attacking the weaker Underworld and gives the Underworld King decisive leverage at Forgotten City. Its political effect depends on opponents believing he is willing and able to fire. (Chapters 680–693)
  • Exceptional manufacture: Opening the blueprint requires at least a Heaven’s End-grade blacksmith, and successful reconstruction also needs rare divine materials, energy cores, ancestral knowledge, and study of the original. A blueprint alone is insufficient. (Chapters 293, 635, 788)
  • Finite ammunition: Ling Tian City’s improved Cannon fires dark energy shells made from high-grade energy cores. Dita prepares sixteen for its debut; the corpus does not establish inexpensive mass production or unlimited repeated fire. (Chapter 788)
  • Item restrictions remain: Tian Tian later notes that she cannot use the Cannon when items are disabled, confirming that it remains equipment rather than an innate power. (Chapter 816)
