Lunar Scourge

The Lunar Scourge is an ancient Luna Chain and one of the surviving godly items from the era destroyed by the original Shura. It binds itself to Ling Chen, holds fifteen exclusive Lunar Scourge Orbs, creates artificial moonlight, and supplies the control and destructive systems that accompany his path to Shura.

History

A failed devouring and a new master

Ling Chen finds the black crescent chained to a wrist inside the novice village’s hidden trial. The artifact attempts to consume his mind, while the spirit presenting herself as Qi Yue expects him to become another sacrifice. His attachment to Shui Ruo lets him resist until the Scourge’s will breaks; its assault stops, its power submits, and the artifact recognizes as master the first human able to conquer it rather than be conquered. (Chapters 39–43)

A hidden advantage behind Heart’s Dream

Once equipped, the Scourge makes Ling Chen more than an ordinary player. Its sockets accept crystals and recovered exclusive orbs, while Moon Shadow, Moon Flare, and related lunar skills let him freeze or blind targets that conventional combat would leave beyond him. Qi Yue interprets these systems and promises that completion would make even armies and gods unable to stand against him, though she does not yet disclose the artifact’s full origin or Shura purpose. Escape and control on the southern road

Ling Chen carries an increasingly populated Scourge while traveling south. He uses its instantaneous lunar control to stop Cai’Er and later to break away when the Fairies try to erase his memories with Fairy Water. The same sequence demonstrates a recurring distinction: the chain supplies rule-like control effects, but Ling Chen still must recognize danger, choose the correct skill, and survive until its limited lunar abilities can resolve the immediate trap. A weapon against the East Ocean armies

In the East Ocean Continent, the Scourge detects a separated orb and repeatedly controls huge groups through its moon skills. Moon Grief makes enemy players forget their abilities, Moon Shadow stops motion, and silver lunar light opens routes or exposes hidden components. These effects let one player overturn battles involving armies, but the campaign’s actual objective remains restoration of the artifact rather than conquest for its own sake. (Chapters 404, 412–420)

The prize desired by demon beasts

The Tyrant and Ice Demon Beasts identify the Scourge and try to seize it because they believe it can revive and greatly strengthen the Demon Emperor. Their pursuit exposes the ancient relic to another faction while Ling Chen searches for the White Tiger’s help. The White Tiger’s lightning blessing later removes a central danger associated with the Scourge’s heaven-defying power, but it does not erase the chain’s other penalties or enemies. (Chapters 517–525)

The Underworld search and Qi Yue’s hidden use

By the Underworld expedition, accumulated orbs let the Scourge provide absolute accuracy, critical strikes, defense-piercing effects, and increasingly large lunar control. Ling Chen uses Moon Shadow against the Undead War God while continuing the component search. Separately, Qi Yue activates the artifact beside his sleeping body without consent to advance her concealed plan, proving that her residence and knowledge grant operational access even though Ling Chen remains its recognized master. (Chapters 645–656)

The Moon God Palace and Shura transformation

The search for a Saint Orb carries Ling Chen into the Moon God Palace, whose rulers know the Scourge as a forbidden enemy. Orb milestones strengthen its artificial moon and unlock permanent versions of its control effects, while the completed approach also exposes the Heaven’s Wrath tied to becoming a Shura. The artifact survives imprisonment, divine countermeasures, and the transformation that gives Ling Chen strength beyond the Moon Goddesses. (Chapters 711, 725–731, 743–779)

Its true origin in the Godchild conflict

Qi Yue reveals that the Moon God Clan origin story is false: the Scourge is one of three surviving divine items from the ancient gods, retained by Rashu rather than forged by the modern clan. Its systems help Ling Chen oppose Qi Xing, and its Moon God Orb summons the separate Lunar Scourge Divine Spear. The artifact enhances him to a level comparable with partial Godhood but does not make him automatically stronger than Qi Xing’s completed state. (Chapters 806–810)

Completion beneath the broken moon

The Sun God Orb finally returns to its socket during the battle with Qi Xing, completing all fifteen positions. When the real moon is destroyed, the Scourge enters Broken Moon and supplies the condition for God-Killing Moon, which annihilates Qi Xing’s manifested body and surrounding space. Later revelations show Qi Yue had guided the Sun Orb’s return and had already freed the original resident spirit Ye Yue. By the final chapter, the Scourge remains complete and associated with Ling Chen rather than being consumed or dismantled. (Chapters 834–840, 843–849)

Abilities and properties

• Fifteen-socket Luna Chain: The outer twelve sockets can temporarily accept ordinary crystals or energy orbs of any grade, but each corresponds to one Zodiac God Orb. The three central sockets accept only the Star, Moon, and Sun Saint Orbs. The collection and individual component effects belong to the Lunar Scourge Orbs, not to an interchangeable supply of power native to an empty chain. (Chapters 44–46)
• Binding and transport: Before completion, Ling Chen cannot remove the Scourge even after becoming its master. It can carry souls and inanimate matter between Mystic Moon and Earth, which allows Shui Ruo’s deceased soul to cross but cannot transport living Isrock patients. The corpus does not show Ling Chen discarding it after completion. (Chapters 43–46, 711)
• Artificial moon states: Orb milestones let the Scourge form New Moon, Crescent Moon, Half Moon, later lunar states, and finally Full or Broken Moon conditions. Stronger phases enlarge the range and power of lunar skills and allow longer daily manifestation. Moon God countermeasures can absorb an artificial moon, while destruction of the real moon uniquely creates Broken Moon. (Chapters 733, 757, 767, 834)
• Lunar control skills: Moon Shadow stops movement, Moon Flare destroys vision temporarily, and Moon Grief removes access to learned skills or memories of strength. Later Eternal variants require stronger moon phases and can make their consequences permanent. Range and duration scale with the active moon, so the chain’s strongest control is conditional rather than always available. (Chapters 149–152, 245–257, 412–416, 733, 757)
• Heaven’s Jealousy: Equipping the chain doubles the experience needed for levels and the skill points needed for upgrades; death resets the bearer to level zero. The penalty is described as permanent and not removable or deactivatable. Powerful orb benefits compensate for it in practice but do not erase its stated rules. (Chapters 44–45)
• Heaven’s Wrath and Shura path: The second curse points toward a one-way Shura transformation and divine tribulation. The White Tiger’s Thunder God’s Bulwark makes Ling Chen immune to the lightning that killed an earlier candidate, but that external blessing is not an intrinsic Scourge defense and does not neutralize every cost attached to its skills. (Chapters 44–46, 524–526, 751–758)
• Separate sealed equipment: Completion and particular Saint Orbs grant access to the Lunar Scourge Divine Spear and divine armour, but those are distinct ancient weapons stored through the artifact. Their statistics, techniques, and cooldowns should not be attributed to the empty Luna Chain itself. (Chapters 757–758, 806–810)
• Current state: All twelve God Orbs and three Saint Orbs are socketed by the end of the conflict. God-Killing Moon temporarily dims the orbs and makes the spear unavailable, but no final loss, fracture, or removal of the complete Scourge is shown. (Chapters 834–840, 849)
