Biography

Isrock, the New World, and the Lunar Scourge

Xiao Qi enters the story as Yun Meng Xin’s outspoken friend and one of the girls committed to opposing her arranged marriage. She understands that Meng Xin’s challenge appears impossible and that openly involving the Battle Alliance would set it against the Yan Huang Alliance, so she separates her personal choice from her family’s organization. Even with those constraints, she refuses surrender: struggling beside Meng Xin matters to her because accepting a future imposed for political benefit would make their lives someone else’s property. (Chapter 54)

Her first scene establishes the mixture that defines her later choices. Xiao Qi is cheerful, emotional, and quick to speak, but her optimism is not ignorance; she openly acknowledges the odds and decides that courage still has value. Her insistence that the girls use their own methods also anticipates her development from a protected younger sister into an independent fighter. At this stage, however, she can offer loyalty and resolve rather than institutional force, because the Battle Alliance remains outside the conflict. (Chapter 54)

Heart’s Dream and the First Guild

Xiao Qi welcomes Ling Chen into Heart’s Dream before learning that he is the famous Ling Tian, introduces herself and the other members, and eagerly presents him to Meng Xin. Her warmth helps turn a collection of allies into a social group rather than a purely strategic guild. She also responds enthusiastically when Ling Chen distributes valuable equipment, measuring its rarity as a player while sharing in Su’Er’s delight instead of competing with her. (Chapters 118–122)

Once Heart’s Dream becomes the first genuine guild in Mystic Moon, Xiao Qi embraces the honor even though its foundation provokes Long Tian Yun. She is angry at his order to hunt anyone who joins, yet trusts Ling Chen’s judgment that the small guild does not need conventional mass recruitment. Her confidence rests on relationships—Meng Xin’s goal, the sisters’ loyalty, and Ling Chen’s strength—rather than on numerical power, making her an emotional anchor for the group while it remains structurally vulnerable. The Road South and the Fairy Realm

While Ling Chen travels south, Xiao Qi’s hidden physical condition worsens. She was born with Heavenly Sun Arteries, the human manifestation of a Flame Soul, which causes episodes of body heat so extreme that her friends must submerge her in ice. The attacks grow closer together as she approaches eighteen, and doctors have long predicted that she will not live past twenty. She hides the truth from Ling Chen and asks Meng Xin and Su’Er to do the same, preferring their peace to open pity. (Chapters 271–275)

Xiao Qi’s awareness of her shortened life explains both her exuberance and her advice to Su’Er. She urges Su’Er to pursue the person she loves, but says that she herself cannot claim that right because dying soon would only hurt him. Even after a dangerous episode, she returns to Heart’s Dream, welcomes Tian Tian, and promises to work harder so she will not burden the group. Her cheerfulness is therefore a deliberate way of living fully under pressure, not evidence that she lacks fear. (Chapters 271–276)

Calamity in the East Ocean Continent

Ling Chen brings Xiao Qi to the Vermillion Bird’s attention after its feather reacts to her Flame Soul. The guardian explains that her Heavenly Sun Arteries are both a rare affinity for fire and the cause of her fatal condition, then offers an inheritance that can save her while also helping restore Xi Ling. Xiao Qi initially hesitates because the process may take at least half a year and separate her from everyone during the little time she believes remains, showing that survival without human connection is not an easy choice for her. (Chapters 303–304)

After Ling Chen disappears during the East Ocean crisis, Xiao Qi chooses the only path that offers hope and travels alone to the Lava Purgatory. She says farewell to Meng Xin and the others, summons the Vermillion Bird, and explicitly asks to inherit its flames. The decision requires sustained isolation and an inheritance ordeal rather than an instant class change. She remains inside the game under real-world care while her father and Xiao Qiu Feng wait beyond the date doctors expected her to survive. (Chapters 361, 492)

The Defense and Founding of Ling Tian City

Xiao Qi completes the inheritance faster than even the Vermillion Bird expected and returns from the Lava Purgatory alive, carrying its soul, flames, sight, equipment, and responsibilities. She reunites with Meng Xin on the day the unfinished city faces destruction, learns what the defenders have sacrificed, and immediately refuses to remain the girl everyone protects. Riding Xi Ling above the battlefield, she uses Vermillion Death and the Vermillion Bird’s Battle Gown to rain holy fire on the attacking army. (Chapters 559–561)

Her ordinary attacks erase clustered players, while Nirvana Flames let her rise after being killed. Xiao Qi then invokes the Vermillion Bird’s Origin Flames and Dazzling Red Lotus, destroying a massive attack force and its equipment at once. The feat saves the city’s defenders time but exhausts her so completely that she must sleep, establishing the cost of her strongest magic. Her safe return also moves Xiao Qiu Feng to mobilize the Battle Alliance, making Xiao Qi’s personal transformation a catalyst for wider institutional support. (Chapters 561–588)

The Underworld and the Forgotten City

After Ling Tian City opens, Xiao Qi accepts recognition as the Vermillion Bird’s Representative. The Vermillion Bird City’s delegation explains that its city lifeline now depends on the guardian power and soul within her, so preserving her life is itself part of her duty. Though initially unsure what a representative must do, she promises to protect the city and travels there to calm its residents. Her position also creates a bridge through which people of Vermillion Bird City can trust and support Ling Tian City. (Chapters 610–616)

When the Forgotten Emperor later sends an army against Ling Tian City, Xiao Qi challenges the invaders’ claimed legitimacy rather than treating official authority as moral proof. She mocks Su Zhi Zhan after Xuanyuan Dia Wu defeats him, helps support Meng Xin during the siege, and remains at the city’s core as its defenders face Mysterious God–grade enemies. Her flames can damage armor and control ordinary troops, but beings on that higher tier still create a crisis she cannot settle alone. (Chapters 660–687)

The Moon God Palace and the Shura’s Return

When Meng Xin contracts Isrock, Xiao Qi rejects the instinct to isolate or abandon her. She drives to Meng Xin’s side, opposes relatives who want to send the sick woman away, and helps move her and Su’Er to the Bamboo Sea Wonderland after Ling Chen promises a cure. Xiao Qi’s reaction echoes her own concealed illness: she knows what it means to face a terminal condition and treats companionship as more important than personal safety, even before anyone knows whether the proposed treatment will work. (Chapters 705–710)

Later, during the demon assault connected to the Shura’s return, Xiao Qi defends Ling Tian City’s Administrative District with a sustained ring of Vermillion flames. The barrier exploits the invading demon beasts’ vulnerability to fire, but the Ice Demon Beast’s Mysterious God power lowers the temperature enough to extinguish it and forces Fey to send Xiao Qi away. This confrontation defines her current combat ceiling: she is devastating against armies and elementally vulnerable targets, yet overwhelming rank and a direct elemental counter can suppress her inherited fire. The Godchild Crisis and Qi Xing

Xiao Qi is at the Bamboo Sea Wonderland when Rahu attacks the household and Tian Tian’s dormant power awakens. She helps comfort Gu Qing Han, witnesses the impossible battle around her, and is among the women later transported away from Earth. Her role in the crisis is primarily collective rather than decisive: against divine enemies, her Vermillion inheritance does not place her on their level, and survival depends on Tian Tian, Sha Sha, and the unfolding godly conflict. (Chapters 801–815)

On Xiya, Xiao Qi uses Tian Tian’s Full Moon Mirror with the others to follow Ling Chen and refuses to flee when Rahu and Wan Chong threaten them. She states that abandoning Tian Tian would be equivalent to choosing death, placing loyalty above the rational prospect of escape. This repeats the principle behind her defense of Meng Xin and Ling Tian City: Xiao Qi’s courage does not depend on believing she can win, and her power is only one part of her willingness to stand with her chosen family. Xiya and the Perfect Moon

After time is reversed and the destroyed worlds are restored, Xiao Qi returns to ordinary life with the household. She welcomes Mo’Er, participates in the International Mock Battle beside Fey and Dia Wu, and remains publicly associated with Ling Tian City’s strongest fighters. The later scenes do not give her a new promotion beyond Vermillion Bird’s Representative; instead, they show that the inheritance has stabilized into her ongoing identity, with no return of the Heavenly Sun Arteries crisis reported. Three years later, Xiao Qi receives a marriage certificate bearing her and Ling Chen’s names. She holds it against her chest and immediately calls the other women to share the surprise, responding with the same open delight that shaped her earliest Heart’s Dream scenes. The certificate confirms the romantic future she once believed her fatal body made impossible. Her final state therefore closes both of her central struggles: she survives into adulthood and gains an acknowledged place beside the person she had refused to burden while dying. Appearance and personality

Xiao Qi is a young, petite-looking woman with a notably mature and curving figure, large expressive eyes, and an energetic manner. Before her inheritance she dresses as a conventional elementalist in the game. Afterward, her eyes carry a faint red light and she wears a complete crimson set dominated by a close-fitting battle gown covered in moving flame inscriptions, a phoenix emblem, and tail-feather decorations. The new appearance combines the sweetness familiar to her friends with the authority of the Vermillion Bird’s soul. (Chapters 118, 223, 271, 560)

She is affectionate, talkative, easily excited, and direct about what she believes. Xiao Qi openly praises her friends, teases Su’Er, embraces people she misses, and reacts to injustice with immediate anger. Beneath that brightness is unusual emotional discipline: she hides pain to spare her family, undertakes the Lava Purgatory inheritance alone, and repeatedly chooses solidarity in battles she cannot control. The Vermillion Bird’s soul adds composure in combat, but it does not replace her playful temperament or her reliance on close relationships. (Chapters 54, 271–276, 559–595, 660–710)

Abilities and powers

• Flame Soul and Heavenly Sun Arteries: Xiao Qi’s inborn constitution gives her exceptional fire affinity but originally produces lethal heat episodes that worsen with age. Ice can reduce an attack’s immediate temperature, but it does not cure the condition. The Vermillion Bird inheritance converts this fatal potential into controlled power and extends her life; the corpus reports no later recurrence after the inheritance is completed. (Chapters 271–275, 303–304, 559–560)

• Vermillion Bird’s Representative: Xiao Qi inherits part of the guardian beast’s power, life, and soul, changing her profession and making her the living continuation of Vermillion Bird City’s guardian force. A Vermillion Bird phantasm can appear behind her, and the city lifeline persists while the inherited power and soul remain. Her duty is protective rather than administrative, and she initially requires the city’s mayor to explain what residents expect from her. (Chapters 559–560, 610–611)

• Vermillion Bird’s Flames: Her fire is described as exceptionally hot and holy, capable of killing groups with small projectiles, burning equipment, damaging armor, and countering demon beasts. She can sustain a defensive ring or scatter explosive attacks from the air. The flames are not absolute: a Mysterious God–grade Ice Demon Beast extinguishes them through overwhelming cold, and Xiao Qi must withdraw rather than contest that power directly. • Eyes of Flames: The inheritance gives Xiao Qi fire-attuned vision with exceptional distance. She uses it to survey the enormous attacking force outside the unfinished city from afar. No exact maximum range, obstruction rules, or ability to perceive hidden targets is stated, so it should be treated as enhanced long-range sight rather than universal detection. (Chapter 560)

• Nirvana Flames: Xiao Qi can revive after death through inherited rebirth fire. Because her life force is far smaller than the Vermillion Bird’s, each resurrection consumes only a small quantity, allowing up to nine uses per day rather than the guardian beast’s once-in-a-lifetime limit. The ability does not prevent pain, capture, exhaustion, or nonlethal incapacitation, and the daily use limit remains a meaningful boundary. (Chapters 561–562)

• Origin Flames and Dazzling Red Lotus: Her ultimate area attack manifests the Vermillion Bird’s phantasm and a vast lotus of flame, annihilating an army-scale concentration and destroying equipment within its reach. Its consequence is severe depletion: after using it, Xiao Qi becomes dizzy, loses her strength, and must sleep for an extended period. It is therefore a decisive emergency weapon rather than magic she can sustain across repeated waves. (Chapters 562–588)

• Aerial fire support: Xiao Qi’s most effective battlefield deployment pairs her ranged fire with Xi Ling’s flight, keeping her above the reach of ordinary soldiers while she attacks dense formations. Flight is not shown as an innate ability of Xiao Qi herself, so this safety and mobility depend on a mount or companion. Marksmen, stronger flyers, or enemies able to suppress Xi Ling would reduce that advantage. (Chapters 560–562)

• Ling Chen: Xiao Qi admires and falls in love with Ling Chen while believing her illness makes a relationship unfair to him. He discovers the nature of her Flame Soul, leads her to the Vermillion Bird’s offer, and promises to support her choice. After she survives, their mutual promise is renewed, and she later receives a marriage certificate identifying her as his wife. (Chapters 271–304, 361, 595, 610, 847)

• Yun Meng Xin: Meng Xin is Xiao Qi’s beloved elder sister and the person whose freedom first draws her into Heart’s Dream. Xiao Qi conceals her illness from her, returns from the Lava Purgatory directly into the defense of Meng Xin’s city, and later risks Isrock exposure rather than leave her isolated. Their relationship repeatedly converts Xiao Qi’s private fear into protective action. (Chapters 54, 118–123, 271–276, 559–560, 705–710)

• Su’Er: Xiao Qi and Su’Er grow up together and are closer than ordinary friends. Xiao Qi teases and counsels the shy Su’Er, while Su’Er helps cool her dangerous fevers and accompanies her to Vermillion Bird City for their farewell. In battle they support each other, and during the Godchild crisis they again choose to stand together rather than escape. (Chapters 118–123, 229–232, 271–276, 361, 587–588, 819–820)

• Xiao Qiu Feng: Xiao Qiu Feng is her protective elder brother. Fear of losing her keeps him from immediately committing the Battle Alliance to the unfinished city, but seeing Xiao Qi alive and fighting changes his decision, and he mobilizes the entire guild. Her request and status later help bring the Battle Alliance permanently into Ling Tian City. (Chapters 54, 492, 548, 561, 595–620)

• Xi Ling: The Vermillion Bird’s plan links Xiao Qi’s salvation with Xi Ling’s rebirth. After the inheritance, Xi Ling carries Xiao Qi over the battlefield and supplies the aerial platform that makes her fire devastating against ground forces. Their shared connection to the guardian’s soul creates cooperation without an ownership bond; Xi Ling is free rather than Xiao Qi’s pet. (Chapters 303–304, 559–562, 586–591)

• Tian Tian and Sha Sha: Xiao Qi readily welcomes both girls into the household and Heart’s Dream circle. In the divine crisis she cannot match their awakened level of power, but she comforts those around them, follows their efforts through the Full Moon Mirror, and refuses to abandon Tian Tian on Xiya. • Vermillion Death: Xiao Qi’s crimson magic staff is formed from the Vermillion Bird’s bones and forged with its soul flames. It greatly increases the damage of fire magic and serves as the focus for her projectiles and major techniques. Its strongest results still draw on Xiao Qi’s inherited energy, so the staff does not remove the exhaustion caused by Origin Flames. (Chapters 560–562)

• Vermillion Bird’s Battle Gown: This full-body crimson gown carries moving flame inscriptions and visually manifests the guardian inheritance. It lights with real fire when Vermillion Death is drawn and forms part of Xiao Qi’s complete Vermillion equipment set.
