Lunar Scourge Orbs
The Lunar Scourge Orbs are fifteen exclusive components made for the Lunar Scourge: twelve Zodiac God Orbs and three central Saint Orbs associated with the star, moon, and sun. They are the collection mechanism that restores the Scourge, while each orb remains a distinct relic with its own effect, grade, location, and custody history.
History
The missing sockets and collection rule
Energy orbs are introduced as complete, higher-order equivalents of crystals, usable only through sufficiently powerful Luna Chains. The Scourge has twelve outer sockets corresponding to Zodiac God Orbs and three central sockets reserved for the Star, Moon, and Sun Saint Orbs. The Moon God Clan dispersed those components to weaken the artifact; while the Scourge survives, its exclusive orbs cannot be destroyed and reveal their full power only when returned to their matching sockets. (Chapters 8, 41, 44–46)
Early recoveries and an uncertain search
Ling Chen recovers several God Orbs during Heart’s Dream’s early period, including the Cancer Orb, but Qi Yue stresses that there is no reliable shortcut. The Scourge’s reaction is inconsistent: sometimes only the corresponding socket lights, and sometimes a nearby orb produces no readable signal. Collection therefore depends on exploration, Xiao Hui’s treasure sensing, unusual encounters, and access to locations guarded by beings far stronger than an ordinary player. (Chapters 133–135, 167–175)
Components with rule-changing effects
Further discoveries on the southern road show that the orbs do more than add ordinary statistics. The Pisces Orb permits an additional profession, while other recovered components change weapon use, targeting, defense interaction, or skill behavior. These powers explain why even one exclusive orb can outweigh the Scourge’s growth penalties, but they do not make the remaining components easier to locate or remove the danger surrounding their custodians. (Chapters 233, 266–270, 294, 350–352)
The Libra Orb in the East Ocean Continent
The East Ocean search leads beneath Sunrise City to the Libra Orb, a component Qi Yue regards as one of the strongest God Orbs. The Scourge reacts when Ling Chen approaches it, and socketing the orb strengthens the collection while unlocking another tier of artifact use. Its foreign location reflects the Moon Goddesses’ strategy of scattering components across continents so restoration could not be completed through one regional search. (Chapters 417–422)
The White Tiger and later Zodiac orbs
Ling Chen’s pursuit of the remaining Zodiac components draws him toward the White Tiger and conflicts with demon beasts that want the Scourge for themselves. By this phase he has recovered most of the outer set, making each missing orb more conspicuous while the locations grow more dangerous. The collection remains a sequence of separate acquisitions; owning the Luna Chain never automatically recalls every distant component. (Chapters 517, 523–527)
The Underworld Blood Lake
An orb hidden in the Underworld Blood Lake lies beyond formations, guardians, and an environment that Ling Chen cannot safely search alone. Leng’Er’s royal nature lets her enter the lake and retrieve components inaccessible to him, bringing the collection to ten. This acquisition shows that some orbs require another person’s unique access rather than greater damage, and that the Scourge’s proximity reaction does not itself extract or protect a relic. (Chapters 646–648, 658, 668–670)
Completing the Zodiac and taking the Moon Orb
The Aries Orb completes all twelve Zodiac positions, unlocking Crescent Moon and higher lunar techniques even though its ordinary effect seems weak outside a Shura context. A central Saint Orb in the Moon God Palace then drives Ling Chen’s infiltration. The Moon God Orb is Super Saint Destroyer grade, greatly raises maximum health, advances the artificial moon to Half Moon, and grants summoning access to the separate Lunar Scourge Divine Spear. (Chapters 725–733, 755–757)
The concealed Sun Orb and final socket
During the Godchild crisis, Qi Yue reveals that she has concealed the Sun God Orb while allowing Ling Chen to believe the resurrection relic remained incomplete. The Sun Orb ultimately flies into the Scourge during the battle with Qi Xing, completing all fifteen sockets. That completion makes the artifact’s ultimate state possible; after God-Killing Moon, the collection goes dim temporarily rather than being destroyed or scattered again. (Chapters 811–815, 834–835)
Qi Yue’s direction and the completed set
Mo’Er initially claims credit for moving the Sun Orb and moon, but Ling Chen later realizes Qi Yue directed those events. Ye Yue also reveals that Qi Yue could have completed the set earlier, because she already held the Sun Orb when the Star Orb was obtained. By the final revelation, the orbs remain a complete socketed collection under Ling Chen’s Scourge, while Qi Yue’s concealment explains the delayed timing rather than a missing component. (Chapters 840, 843, 849)
Abilities and properties
- Fixed exclusive set: The collection contains twelve Mysterious God-grade Zodiac Orbs—Aries through Pisces—and three central Saint Orbs associated with star, moon, and sun. Each has a corresponding socket; another person can possess an orb, but its exclusive power is released through the matching position on the Scourge. (Chapters 41, 44–46)
- Persistence: Qi Yue states that the exclusive components cannot be destroyed while the Lunar Scourge itself survives. The Moon God Clan therefore disperses and guards them instead of relying on ordinary destruction. This protection does not prevent theft, concealment, or long periods of separation. (Chapters 45–46, 404)
- Individual mechanics: The God Orbs provide qualitatively different rules rather than one uniform bonus. Recorded examples include altered dual-wielding, defense and accuracy behavior, critical effects, a second profession, and cooldown manipulation. Exact effects belong to each orb and should not be generalized to the whole set before the relevant component is socketed. (Chapters 44–46, 175–176, 266–270, 418–420)
- Milestone unlocks: Six Zodiac Orbs unlock New Moon, all twelve unlock Crescent Moon and further lunar skills, and successive Saint Orbs advance the artificial moon toward Half, Waxing, and Full Moon. Stronger phases extend daily duration and enlarge the range or permanence of the Scourge’s control effects. (Chapters 420, 523–527, 733, 757–779)
- Saint Orb equipment access: The Moon God Orb adds an extraordinary health increase and houses the Lunar Scourge Divine Spear. The spear is a separate True God weapon summoned through that orb, not the physical shape of the orb collection or a transformation of the Luna Chain. (Chapters 733, 755–758)
- Completion and Broken Moon: Socketing the Sun God Orb completes all fifteen positions. Destruction of the real moon then triggers Broken Moon, allowing God-Killing Moon to draw on an exceptional lunar condition. The attack leaves all orbs dim and makes the spear unavailable for three months, but the components remain socketed. (Chapters 834–835)
- Current state: The corpus ends with the full set gathered. Qi Yue no longer conceals the Sun component, the Moon God Orb still houses the spear, and no orb is reported consumed by the Fate-Defying Heavenly Orb or lost during restoration of Earth. (Chapters 840, 843, 849)
