Lachesis

Lachesis is the collective name of three ancient rings whose red, yellow, and blue powers govern rules, time, and space. It is the western counterpart to the Lunar Scourge, but its natural item soul is the small spirit Mo’Er, not the human woman for whom the artifact was named or that woman’s later reincarnation. Fey is its visible bearer through most of the story, while Qi Yue’s inheritance of the original Lachesis’s godly soul gives her a deeper, concealed authority over it.

History

The Defense and Founding of Ling Tian City

Fey first reveals Lachesis while secretly watching Ling Tian City’s defense. The artifact appears as three rings worn on her right index, middle, and ring fingers—red, yellow, and blue respectively—and reacts to Ling Chen’s Lunar Scourge as an equal divine item. Records found with the rings identify both artifacts as survivals from the True God era, but Fey admits that she cannot release even ten percent of Lachesis’s power and delays challenging Ling Chen until her control improves. (Chapter 594)

The rings nevertheless let Fey and Yola leave across a World Boundary when their permitted time abroad is ending. Its early introduction therefore establishes two facts that later become important: the three rings operate as one named artifact, and Fey’s extraordinary movement comes from only a restricted portion of its actual authority. Her confidence in Lachesis is real, but its incomplete response prevents her from assuming that possession alone makes her superior to another godly artifact’s bearer. (Chapter 594)

The Underworld and the Forgotten City

During the Forgotten Empire’s attack, Fey uses the yellow ring to cast Time Barrier across Ling Tian City and the surrounding thirty kilometres. People, attacks, wind, dust, and sound all stop while time outside the field continues. The feat saves defenders from immediate death, but it leaves Fey pale and barely able to remain upright; she expects the large-scale barrier to be unavailable for months. Mo’Er then emerges from the combined three-coloured light and transforms into a pterosaur to carry Fey and Yola away while the field persists. (Chapters 674–675)

Lachesis’s spatial system supports both travel and combat. Fey teleports between distant locations, attaches a spatial trace to the Forgotten God Representative, and uses that trace to pursue her. In Fey’s later duel with Ling Chen, Dimensional Fracture locks and breaks the space around him with enough force to threaten an instant kill. He survives only because Lachesis’ Tear, a separate Mysterious God ring, negates damage and negative effects from Lachesis; Fey similarly carries Sacred Moon as protection from the Lunar Scourge. These counters do not weaken either artifact for targets lacking the corresponding protection. (Chapters 688, 695–698)

The Moon God Palace and the Shura’s Return

After awakening more of the blue ring’s power, Fey can cross World Boundaries reliably and transport thirty people per trip. The ability still has a cooldown, especially after long or uncertain jumps, so she brings her companions to Ling Tian City in waves and cannot teleport continuously without allowing the spatial power to recover. She also follows the Lucky Cat’s trail through space and opens a route through the Moon God Palace boundary, though forcing that powerful barrier creates noise and ripples that can reveal the intrusion. (Chapters 729–735)

Lachesis later proves that its control is not limited to distance. Against the Mad Scientist, its spatial force breaks his lock while its red rules power suppresses his authority over Mystic Moon. Fey changes the local rules so that his mind cannot escape through revival or logout, allowing Ling Chen to destroy both his projected body and consciousness. Because the rule energy is depleted, Fey estimates that the seal will last less than five minutes. The result is decisive but depends on immediate action before an expensive rule alteration expires. (Chapter 794)

The Godchild Crisis and Qi Xing

The ancient history separates the artifact from its namesake. Rashu gave the Tricolour Saint Rings to the human Demigod Lachesis, who later became a True God after receiving part of his godly soul; people subsequently called the rings “Lachesis” in her memory. Mo’Er remained the artifact’s naturally born item soul. The rings are therefore neither Lachesis’s soul nor Qi Yue herself, even though soul affinity determines who can command their full power. (Chapters 808–809, 838)

Qi Yue reveals that she inherited the original Lachesis’s godly soul and memories. That soul is one the rings obey unconditionally, letting her override the limited custody she deliberately granted Fey. She had earlier guided the Mad Scientist to find the artifact and use its red rules authority to modify the real Mystic Moon planet into the system accessed by Earth’s players. She then gave the rings to Fey but restricted them so that their energy would accumulate for the final stages of her plan. Fey’s apparent difficulty awakening Lachesis was consequently an imposed limitation, not its natural ceiling. (Chapters 835–836)

Qi Yue covertly uses the restored artifact on a far greater scale than Fey knows. Its spatial authority removes Ling Chen’s household from Earth before Rahu’s attack, sends them and later Ling Chen to Xiya, hides Sha Sha in a superdimensional space, moves Earth’s moon across interstellar distance, and delivers the Sun God Orb needed to complete the Lunar Scourge. These operations consume immense spatial energy; after the transfers to Xiya, even Qi Yue must wait for that energy to recover, during which Ling Chen destroys Earth. (Chapters 815, 835–837)

Xiya and the Perfect Moon

Before departing, Qi Yue returns the three rings to Fey and compels Mo’Er to conceal the truth. Mo’Er presents a cover story in which outside force accidentally removed the artifact’s seals and she alone performed Qi Yue’s rescues. The narration identifies that explanation as a lie: Fey is the master Mo’Er recognizes and returns to, but Qi Yue’s reincarnated godly soul is the artifact’s deeper true authority. Three years later, Ling Chen understands that Qi Yue—not Mo’Er acting independently—arranged the transfers, moon, and orb while allowing Fey to retain the complete artifact. (Chapters 838–840, 849)

Mo’Er then lends Lachesis’s fully restored power to repair the disaster. The blue ring takes Ling Chen and Sha Sha to Earth’s former location, and the yellow time ring reverses the planet by one day with Sha Sha’s True God source energy. Mo’Er first seals the affected space’s karma so that people who escaped Earth are not duplicated. One day is the maximum achievable interval, it exhausts all of Lachesis’s accumulated time energy for at least two thousand years, and it may take Sha Sha decades to recover her contributed source energy. Lachesis cannot extend the reversal to the year needed to undo Shui Ruo’s death. (Chapter 841)

After the reversal, Mo’Er uses the red ring’s rules power for an afternoon to grant the announced experience compensation to displaced players. In later years, the spatial ring carries Ling Chen physically between Earth and the Mystic Moon planet and performs routine travel between distant Earth locations. These smaller transports remain available even though the artifact’s time reserve is exhausted, because its spatial, temporal, and rules energies are distinct. The rings are not destroyed or dispersed by the ending. (Chapters 841, 843–848)

Abilities and properties

• Three-ring structure: Lachesis consists of a red ring on the index finger, a yellow ring on the middle finger, and a blue ring on the ring finger when Fey wears the set. Their powers are rules/order, time, and space respectively. The three can shine together and manifest Mo’Er, but one ring’s depleted energy does not automatically exhaust the other two systems. (Chapters 594, 674–675, 840–841)
• Mo’Er, the item soul: Mo’Er is a naturally born artifact spirit tens of thousands of years old. She can appear as a pocket-sized tricolour girl, transform into a large pterosaur, speak independently, and directly operate the rings’ powers. She calls Fey “master,” yet can also assist a temporary user such as Ling Chen; neither behavior makes her identical to Qi Yue or the ancient woman Lachesis. (Chapters 675, 838–841)
• Blue spatial authority: The spatial ring teleports individuals or groups, crosses World Boundaries, follows spatial trails, locks or fractures local space, opens superdimensional passages, and at full power moves people or celestial bodies across interstellar distances. Ordinary long-distance use has a cooldown, powerful barriers can expose the breach, and the largest transfers consume a reserve that takes time to restore. (Chapters 688, 697, 729–735, 835–841)
• Yellow temporal authority: Time Barrier freezes every object and process in a selected area without requiring Fey to defeat the affected beings. Range and recovery cost scale sharply: a thirty-kilometre field incapacitates Fey and costs months of availability, while reversing Earth by one day requires Sha Sha’s True God energy and empties two millennia of accumulated time power. Without that external source, Mo’Er can reverse only a few minutes. (Chapters 674–675, 841)
• Red rules and order authority: The red ring can rewrite or suppress operating rules rather than merely deal damage. It enables the Mad Scientist’s player-access system, later cancels his control, seals his mind against revival and logout, and adjusts player experience after Earth’s restoration. Large interventions deplete the rules reserve and can last only briefly unless the artifact has accumulated sufficient energy. (Chapters 794, 836, 841)
• Control over elemental essence, order, and fate: The corpus summarizes Lachesis as a control-oriented peer to the destruction-oriented Lunar Scourge. That language describes the breadth of its systems, not unlimited wish fulfilment. It cannot resurrect Shui Ruo, cannot reverse Earth by a year, and cannot repeat a world-scale temporal use once the necessary reserve is spent. (Chapters 675, 815, 841)
• External counter: Lachesis’ Tear grants its wearer increased health and complete immunity to Lachesis’s damage and negative effects. Ling Chen uses it to ignore Dimensional Fracture and Time Barrier during his duel with Fey. This is a property of the separate counter-ring, not a weakness that every opponent can exploit. (Chapters 645, 697–698)
• Current state: Qi Yue removes the restrictions she had placed on the artifact and ultimately leaves the complete rings with Fey. The one-day reversal exhausts temporal energy for at least two thousand years, but later spatial travel remains active through Mo’Er. No later chapter destroys, separates, or transfers permanent ownership of the rings. (Chapters 840–849)

Ownership and custody
