Underworld Royal Earrings
The Underworld Royal Earrings are an ancestral badge of Underworld authority. The Underworld King gives them to Ling Chen as both a family gift and a practical means of commanding or safely approaching the Undead.
History
A royal gift to the Underworld’s son-in-law
After recognizing Leng’Er as his daughter Chan’Er and accepting Ling Chen as her chosen companion, the Underworld King removes his own earrings and gives them to Ling Chen. He authorizes Ling Chen as their wearer, calls the transfer a family gift, and explains that Ling Chen can speak through them when he needs the king’s help on the Forgotten Continent. (Chapters 679, 681)
Authority carried beyond the Underworld
Ling Chen immediately equips the earrings in place of Fairy’s Blessing. Their enormous attribute increase and immunity to Undead attacks make them useful outside ceremonial settings, while their hidden function represents delegated royal command. The corpus does not record a later transfer, revocation, destruction, or upgrade, leaving Ling Chen as their latest confirmed holder. (Chapters 679–681)
Abilities and properties
- Royal attributes: The earrings grant one thousand Constitution, one thousand Spirit, and fifty percent Darkness resistance. Their Mysterious God grade is reflected in the unusually large direct increase to health and mana. (Chapter 679)
- Undead submission: Nearby Undead are compelled to fear and obey the wearer, no Undead can attack that wearer, and the hidden royal effect permits commands throughout the Underworld. Approval by the current Underworld King is an explicit equipment requirement, so possession alone is insufficient. (Chapter 679)
- Communication: The Underworld King tells Ling Chen to speak into the earrings when asking for his help. The source establishes contact but does not specify range, privacy, or whether anyone besides the approved wearer can initiate it. (Chapter 681)
