Biography

Mortal Lifetimes and the Road Out of Grand Xuan

Li Fan begins as a transmigrated mortal whose first life ends after eighty-nine years. He rises from an obscure scholar to Grand Xuan’s Imperial Advisor, but political success does not answer the question that governs him: whether immortals truly exist. The awakening of Truth at death gives him proof that his life can be replayed. Rather than treat rebirth as comfort, he immediately regards it as a finite strategic resource whose charge, anchor, and available choices must be understood before he risks it again. (Chapters 1–2)

In later mortal lives, Li Fan consolidates power, develops a bloodline, and turns the resources of an empire toward reaching the Immortal Land. His plans collide with Kou Hong and Dao Xuanzi, the cultivators whose appearance exposes the gulf between worldly authority and supernatural force. When their conflict destroys what he built, Li Fan responds by capturing, observing, and interrogating cultivators across resets. He is willing to abandon dynasties and descendants once a lifetime has yielded the evidence needed for the next attempt. (Chapters 3–15)

The tombs of Qian Hong and the Immortal Extinction Formation finally give his mortal campaign a practical route forward. Li Fan obtains the damaged Tai Yan Boat, learns enough about cultivation society to prepare for entry, and uses repeated lives to separate reliable facts from fatal guesses. These years establish his defining method: accumulate knowledge in a disposable timeline, return before the cost becomes permanent, and convert remembered information into leverage. His later review makes clear that even his early cruelty and patience served the single objective of escaping mortality. (Chapters 16–21; Chapter 60)

Entering Cultivation and Learning to Exploit the Future

After securing a way through the miasma, Li Fan finally enters the Cong Yun Sea and acquires spiritual roots. The Jade Cosmos Thousand Transformations Scripture lets him draw qi and begin cultivation, but the approaching destruction of the sea makes ordinary advancement inadequate. He therefore treats foreknowledge as capital. The Canghai Pearl, market movements, island offices, and Alliance missions become parts of a coordinated plan to gain cultivation, contribution points, and protection before disaster overtakes the region. (Chapters 24–57)

Li Fan’s relationships in this period are investments as much as attachments. He Zhenghao introduces him to Alliance systems and the Tianxuan Mirror, while Xiao Heng, Su Xiaomei, Zhang Haobo, and Yin Yuzhen are positioned where their future talents can mature. He supplies information, resources, or opportunities, then observes the returns. His interventions can save lives, but he rarely conceals that he also expects knowledge, protection, or future power from the people he helps. (Chapters 45–57)

The Cong Yun Sea catastrophe demonstrates both the value and the limits of this approach. Li Fan reaches late Qi Condensation and gathers knowledge unavailable to an ordinary newcomer, yet Crimson Flame, the sea’s will, and the depletion of his lifespan still place him beyond the margin of safety. He resets instead of defending a doomed cultivation base. Reviewing the life afterward, he identifies hidden heavenly killing intent and institutional blind spots, and resolves to investigate the world’s underlying rules rather than merely survive its visible disasters. Canghai Foundation and the Hundred-Lifetime True Foundation

Following the New Method, Li Fan first establishes his foundation through the Canghai Pearl. The achievement grants him the law and vast-water character embodied by the treasure, but it also reveals the rigidity of tying one’s future to a single Heavenly Treasure. At late Foundation Establishment he no longer views a successful breakthrough as sufficient. He wants a foundation that can preserve his accumulated possibilities across repeated lives, rather than forcing every later realm to grow from one fixed and potentially inferior choice. (Chapters 110–112; Chapter 149)

He turns the problem into an experiment conducted across deaths. Li Fan watches other cultivators break through, studies the conceptual foundations represented by Master Yin and Zhang Haobo, and uses the Mountain Sitting technique to harvest returns from people whose futures he has influenced. He then inherits his late-Foundation cultivation through [Truth], stores the power with the Tai Shang technique, and deliberately shatters his base back to perfected Qi Condensation. Regression here is not defeat: it creates the controlled starting point required to test a new foundation repeatedly. (Chapters 149–164)

Nearly a hundred fatal attempts produce the [Truth] Foundation. Instead of permanently consuming only one Heavenly Treasure, Li Fan can reproduce within himself the laws of treasures previously absorbed and combine their qualities as circumstances demand. The achievement also opens [Truth]’s third anchor position, widening his control over future resets. His formal realm nevertheless remains late Foundation Establishment; the advance is structural, not a concealed jump to a higher named stage. That distinction becomes crucial whenever his effective capabilities exceed the label shown by his cultivation. (Chapters 164–165)

Nine Laws, the Five Elements Cave-Heaven, and Nascent Soul

At Foundation Establishment perfection, Li Fan delays advancement until his Golden Core can embody a deliberately chosen system of laws. He collects creation and annihilation, Azure Flame and Heavenly Calamity, rationality and chaos, and the Five Elements rather than accepting a simpler core. The resulting Nine-Law Golden Core gives him unusually broad interactions between offense, recovery, mental stability, and elemental transformation. It is still imperfect: its component laws are unequal, and their balance requires management rather than granting effortless mastery. (Chapters 242–245; Chapters 310–312)

His methods during this stage remain inseparable from networks and observation. He draws on He Zhenghao’s karmic returns, cultivates formation knowledge, and lets assets mature beyond his immediate reach. The clash between Ink Death and the sword path provides material he can study rather than a spectacle he merely survives. By the time he reaches middle Golden Core, his strength comes not from a single destructive technique but from a layered combination of foreknowledge, law interactions, formations, and bodies or instruments prepared to act at a distance. For Nascent Soul, Li Fan seizes a newborn Five Elements cave-heaven and roots it within himself. The fusion gives him a vast energy foundation, rapid recovery, and a body capable of regenerating from a drop of blood, while also supplying the stable internal world needed for the next realm. The process is invasive and dangerous rather than automatic: the cave-heaven must be captured at the correct moment, its five elements integrated, and the resulting power controlled. He emerges at early Nascent Soul with a far stronger base, not beyond Nascent Soul itself. (Chapters 582–584)

Federation, False Identities, and Power Behind the Curtain

Once his Nascent Soul base and formation expertise are established, Li Fan increasingly acts through institutions, manufactured histories, and separate bodies. The Federation of All Worlds becomes a framework for gathering faith, resources, and intelligence across small worlds. The Final Dissociation Disc expands his capacity to derive formations, while Great Qi and the Genesis Chronicle give political and historical form to his plans. His goal is no longer only personal advancement; he wants systems that continue producing value while his original body remains concealed. (Chapters 584–760)

The identities created for those systems are instruments, but they are not all interchangeable aliases. Li Ping is a clone-derived embodied operator with his own public position, while Xu Bai, the Heavenly Mandate Holy Emperor, and other projected roles are constructed for particular theatres of action. Tianyang becomes Li Fan’s most dependable executor and guardian. These layers allow Li Fan to negotiate, recruit, and misdirect without exposing his core, but they also create logistical and informational dependencies that must be maintained across worlds and timelines. By the time his original body reaches middle Nascent Soul, Li Fan’s external machinery already affects opponents and resources far above that formal realm. He probes the Tianxuan Mirror, manipulates Alliance expectations, seeks True Immortal materials, and contends indirectly with Mo Rubin, the Heavenly Doctor, and other powers whose direct attention would be fatal. His development in this arc is organizational: he accepts that an individual cultivator can be weaker than the apparatus he controls, and builds plans whose decisive force lies in formations, clones, faith, and prepared contingencies. Destroying a World to Take Its Transformation

Still below Soul Transformation, Li Fan designs a breakthrough around the destruction of the Xuanhuang World itself. He builds the Myriad Spirits network, cultivates a faceless source construct, and arranges forces capable of pushing the world toward catastrophe, including a collision connected to the Immortal Ruins. The scheme is deliberately larger than his own realm because he intends to seize the transformations released at the moment of destruction and compress them into the foundation of his Soul Transformation cultivation. (Chapters 1123–1125)

The plan succeeds only partially. As the world approaches destruction, Li Fan extracts multiple Xuanhuang transformations and displays power that cannot be described by his old Nascent Soul label alone. The world’s Heavenly Dao offers cooperation rather than passively accepting death, while the Heavenly Doctor and a True Immortal intervention make continued extraction unsafe. Li Fan invokes [Truth] rather than gamble that his accumulated transformation can withstand direct contact with powers he still cannot fight. (Chapter 1126)

The reset proves that [Truth] is extraordinarily resilient but not absolute. Li Fan returns to a late-Foundation anchor carrying a faceless contamination left by the True Immortal encounter. The transformation he acquired has been compressed into a recoverable state, yet he cannot safely resume the planned realm path until the foreign mark is removed. World destruction therefore becomes both a breakthrough and a warning: his best contingency can preserve gains across catastrophe, but contact with higher existence can cross the boundary of a reset and force further lives devoted to repair. (Chapters 1127–1134)

Peak Soul Transformation and the Unfinished Dao Integration Plan

To escape the contaminated branch, Li Fan anchors himself with Heavenly Emperor qi and enters the Dark Realm inheritance. Its power drives him through Foundation, Golden Core, Nascent Soul, and every Soul Transformation substage in a compressed succession, stopping at perfection. He repeatedly inherits and resets until the faceless mark is cleanly removed. During the interval, second-layer Heavenly Emperor qi can supply late-Golden-equivalent force while his formal realm is still late Foundation, another example of effective power that must not be mistaken for a formal breakthrough. (Chapters 1128–1135)

In later lives he restores peak Soul Transformation rather than treating the contaminated branch as his permanent cultivation line. Great Qi, Tianyang, Sun Erlang, Wang Xuanba, Qiushui, and the Medicine King forces support increasingly large plans, including moving the Xuanhuang World toward an Immortal Domain and handling relics that carry True Immortal script. His soul approaches a Longevity-realm comparison and his formations can affect world-scale structures, but these are measures of combat or spiritual capacity, not proof that he has entered Dao Integration. (Chapters 1304–1307; Chapters 1373–1385)

At the corpus endpoint, Li Fan studies True Immortal bodies, the Wordless Stele, and seal-script manifestations while preparing the conditions for an Ink Death Celestial Spirit and his own next advance. The Heavenly Doctor and other powers remain unresolved threats, so he continues to rely on binding, testing, and reset contingencies rather than assuming supremacy. His latest confirmed formal realm is peak Soul Transformation. Dao Integration remains an unfinished plan through Chapter 1391, even though his soul, artifacts, followers, and formations let him operate beyond an ordinary cultivator at that stage. Appearance and personality

Li Fan’s recurring physical baseline is a young man of about twenty, the age to which [Truth]’s original anchor returns him. Cultivation can rejuvenate him after a lifetime has visibly aged his body, while exhaustion and failed experiments temporarily produce white hair, wrinkles, or an aged appearance. The faceless state after the True Immortal encounter is likewise an abnormal contamination, not his standard face. The corpus does not consistently establish a canonical eye color, hair color, height, or signature outfit, so those details should not be treated as fixed visual identifiers. (Chapters 1–2; Chapter 57; Chapter 164; Chapters 1126–1135)

He is analytical, patient, and intensely curious about mechanisms hidden behind accepted cultivation doctrine. He prefers tests that can be repeated, stores useful failures as information, and rarely commits his true body while a formation, clone, follower, or disposable lifetime can answer the same question. This caution coexists with extreme ruthlessness: he can manipulate allies, sacrifice populations, and engineer a world’s destruction when he judges the resulting knowledge or power essential. His occasional warmth does not displace this governing calculus; affection and exploitation often operate together. (Chapters 45–60; Chapters 1123–1127)

Abilities and cultivation

Truth and repeated lifetimes

Truth is Li Fan’s defining treasure and the source of his repeated-life strategy. After charging, it can virtualize the current state and return him to an anchor while preserving memory; later development allows additional anchor positions and the binding or inheritance of selected cultivation and objects. Its interface also exposes choices connected to recharge and return. The treasure does not erase every danger: it requires charge and preparation, inherited cultivation can preserve structural problems, and True Immortal contamination survives one reset. At the endpoint it remains active and is still Li Fan’s ultimate contingency. (Chapters 1–2; Chapters 60–61; Chapters 1127–1135; Chapters 1384–1389)

Truth Foundation

The [Truth] Foundation is acquired after Li Fan stores and shatters his inherited Canghai foundation, then dies through nearly a hundred attempts to find a viable alternative. It lets his foundation reproduce the laws of Heavenly Treasures that [Truth] has absorbed, avoiding permanent dependence on a single treasure and making different law structures available across lives. Its advantage is flexibility rather than a free realm increase: Li Fan remains formally at late Foundation Establishment after success, and every later construction still requires suitable laws, energy, and control. The foundation remains the structural basis beneath his later cultivation. (Chapters 160–165)

Xuanhuang Heart Refinement

Xuanhuang Heart Refinement lets Li Fan temper mind and soul through the pressure of the Xuanhuang World, strengthening his resistance to distortion and improving the mental foundation needed for large formations and repeated inheritance. He can also use reversed or intensified applications to accelerate [Truth]’s operation under special circumstances. The method is not limitless protection: the world’s pressure can harm the user, greater existences can still overwhelm his cognition, and refinement does not make him immune to True Immortal influence. Its benefits accumulate into the unusually powerful soul he displays late in the corpus. (Chapters 371–376; Chapters 1123–1127; Chapters 1383–1385)

Jade Cosmos and law assimilation

The Jade Cosmos Thousand Transformations Scripture begins as Li Fan’s route into Qi Condensation. It senses and draws spiritual energy, while its broader assimilative principle supports his ability to study and incorporate different laws. Early use is constrained by spiritual-root access, environmental energy, and lifespan; the rapid advance that brings him to late Qi Condensation also leaves him with too little life to safely continue. Later systems supersede it as his central cultivation base, but its transformative logic remains an important precursor to the many-law foundation and core he eventually constructs. (Chapters 44–45; Chapters 57–60)

Formless Killing Intent

Formless Killing Intent allows Li Fan to lock onto a target through killing intent and perceive or track the marked person across distance, making it as valuable for surveillance as for attack. He acquires it during his early Alliance period and repeatedly pairs it with prepared formations, planted objects, or indirect agents. Its subtlety does not guarantee invisibility against every realm or specialized perception, and a lock is not equivalent to defeating the target; range, target strength, and the surrounding concealment still matter. It remains a recurring information and assassination tool rather than his highest destructive technique. (Chapters 61–67; Chapter 185; Chapters 278–279)

Mountain Sitting and karmic returns

Mountain Sitting converts the growth and accomplishments of people Li Fan has helped into cultivation returns. It encourages his characteristic pattern of identifying promising individuals, giving them resources or direction, and waiting for their breakthroughs to produce value. He Zhenghao and other cultivated relationships help demonstrate the method’s utility. Its output depends on the recipients’ subsequent achievements and on a karmic relationship Li Fan has actually established; it cannot manufacture returns without suitable people and time. The technique is important through Foundation and Golden Core but becomes increasingly secondary as his realm and systems outgrow its scale. (Chapters 149–160; Chapters 242–251)

Nine-Law Golden Core

Li Fan’s Golden Core combines nine law tendencies, including creation and annihilation, Azure Flame and Heavenly Calamity, rationality and chaos, and the Five Elements. Their interaction supplies offense, recovery, elemental conversion, and mental stabilization, giving him answers to a wider range of threats than a single-law core. The construction is acquired through deliberate collection and balancing rather than one inheritance. Its limitation is internal inequality: the elements and opposed tendencies do not begin in perfect equilibrium, so their power can conflict or require later correction. The core becomes one layer of his restored peak Soul Transformation cultivation. (Chapters 242–245; Chapters 310–312; Chapter 421)

Five Elements cave-heaven body

By seizing and merging with a newborn Five Elements cave-heaven, Li Fan creates the basis of his Nascent Soul. The internal world provides enormous reserves, sustained recovery, and regeneration capable of rebuilding him from a drop of blood. It also gives his many-law system a spatial and elemental structure rather than leaving it as an abstract core. Acquisition depends on a rare cave-heaven at the moment of birth, and the merger exposes him to rejection and instability; regeneration also does not protect him from complete suppression or higher-order law. The cave-heaven remains foundational after his later realm restorations. (Chapters 582–584)

Chaos glyph and Xuanhuang World Destruction Transformation

The chaos glyph condenses dangerous chaotic force into an attack whose output can exceed Li Fan’s ordinary realm, but its enormous consumption and backlash prevent casual use. His Xuanhuang World Destruction Transformation is a still larger structural acquisition: by extracting the world’s transformations during engineered destruction, he obtains material for Soul Transformation that can be carried through [Truth] in compressed form. Neither ability makes him a True Immortal’s equal. The extraction is interrupted, contamination follows him across reset, and his safe use of the gain requires repeated cleansing and inheritance in the Dark Realm. (Chapters 1123–1135)

Formation derivation and system control

Li Fan develops from a formation student into an operator of formations and networks spanning worlds. The Final Dissociation Disc accelerates derivation, while the Federation, Great Qi, clones, faith channels, and the Myriad Spirits network provide data and execution. This lets him exert force beyond his personal realm and prepare contingencies without exposing his original body. The system is only as sound as its inputs and custody: derivation consumes information and resources, external bodies can be discovered, and a network can become a route through which stronger enemies trace or corrupt him. (Chapters 584–977; Chapters 1123–1127)

Heavenly Emperor qi

Heavenly Emperor qi is a fortune-based power Li Fan obtains and refines during the contaminated-anchor sequence. It can reinforce constructed imperial authority, manipulate favorable circumstances, and in its second layer provide combat power comparable to late Golden Core even while his formal cultivation remains late Foundation Establishment. That comparison describes usable force, not a hidden formal realm. Its operation depends on fortune, authority, and the structures that gather them; it does not replace the normal Foundation-to-Soul-Transformation ladder. Li Fan retains it as an auxiliary system after cleaning the True Immortal mark and restoring his peak realm. (Chapters 1128–1135)

Power progression

Relationships

• Tianyang is Li Fan’s most consistently trusted executor and guardian. Li Fan equips and directs him through high-risk missions, while Tianyang repeatedly places himself between Li Fan and forces capable of destroying the original body.
• He Zhenghao is an early guide into Alliance life, a recurring investment, and an important source of Mountain Sitting returns. Their cordiality is real but inseparable from Li Fan’s awareness of He Zhenghao’s future value.
• Zhang Haobo, Xiao Heng, and Su Xiaomei are talents Li Fan assists, studies, and positions across timelines. Their independent paths become both relationships and sources of techniques, outcomes, or leverage.
• Kou Hong is first the cultivator whose violence shatters Li Fan’s mortal security, then a target of capture and study. That conflict supplies some of Li Fan’s earliest reliable knowledge of the Immortal Land.
• Li Ping is a clone-derived embodied operator created for Li Fan’s wider plans, not merely another name for the original. The same distinction applies to the Holy Embryo Li Fan, whose body and role must be tracked separately.
• The Heavenly Doctor is an existential investigator and opponent whose intervention helps force the contaminated reset. Li Fan treats him as a threat requiring concealment and layered contingencies rather than direct confrontation.
• Ink Death is both a dangerous sword-path existence and a source Li Fan studies for his eventual Celestial Spirit plan. Their connection is instrumental, not an ordinary alliance.
