Sun Erlang

Biography

Jieli Mountain disciple

Sun Erlang is a naturally strong mortal youth from below Jieli Mountain who repeatedly seeks immortality beside Wang Xuanba. Li Fan encounters him in an early discarded life and removes his memory after judging his physique and resolve promising. In the later Holy Dynasty chronology, Li Ping remakes Great Xuan, removes the miasma blocking Sun Erlang’s path, and becomes the teacher to whom he directs profound gratitude. These meetings belong to different repeated-life timelines, not one continuous recollection. (Chapter 61; Chapters 1128–1129)

Li Ping transmits the Xuanhuang Immortal Heart Mantra and Sitting Immortal Art. Sun Erlang draws qi into his body, leads newly cultivated imperial guards, and pilots the Taiyan Boat to move spiritual energy into the mortal realm. He is embarrassed by what he considers slow progress and conceals reluctance when reporting harsh discipline, but channels both feelings into service rather than resentment. As the Holy Emperor’s eldest disciple, he becomes the senior example around whom Great Qi’s military cultivation culture is organized. (Chapters 1129–1134)

Conqueror corrected by Taiyan

Years of conquering small worlds transform Sun Erlang into a feared general. Victory gives him a chilling murderous aura and enough confidence to believe the Holy Dynasty may be ready to confront the Ten Thousand Immortals Alliance directly. Li Ping recognizes the danger of that confidence and orders him to seek the Taiyan Sect, return Yi Xing’s remains, and face a power whose depth cannot be measured through ordinary battlefield conquest. The mission is correction as much as diplomacy. (Chapters 1192–1194)

Sun Erlang approaches the collective sect patiently, deals with Yi Shu and Chen Tianhai, and endures a century of simulations rather than trying to force an immediate result. Taiyan’s analysis exposes how much Great Qi still lacks despite its rapid expansion. He returns with cooperation and a more accurate sense of ancient power. The experience does not remove his decisiveness; it converts a slaughtering conqueror into a measured strategist capable of respecting unfamiliar systems before placing soldiers against them. (Chapters 1194–1201)

Senior commander and Truth envoy

As the Holy Dynasty prepares for open war, Sun Erlang infiltrates the Five Elders Association and serves as intermediary with the Truth Heavenly Sovereign. A Truth Fruit lets him experience the creation and observation of a miniature world, granting insight without permanently raising his formal realm. He also tests himself against Daoist Hundred Flowers. The encounters teach him that Longevity-level powers are speaking to his master through him, not recognizing him as an equal, yet he remains effective precisely because he understands the distinction. (Chapters 1235–1249)

Sun Erlang later commands Great Qi’s invasion forces and governs military or administrative operations when Li Ping is absent. His allegiance does not weaken as his authority grows; instead, he becomes an independent operational leader able to interpret the Holy Emperor’s strategy without constant instruction. The war-era Sun Erlang belongs to the earlier Holy Dynasty timeline. After Li Fan resets and rebuilds Great Xuan, a recreated Sun Erlang follows a separate cultivation trajectory, so later Golden Core and Dreamscape states must not be retroactively inserted into this Nascent Soul commander’s chronology. (Chapters 1284–1296; Chapters 1305–1309)

Appearance and personality

Sun Erlang is introduced as an exceptionally talented young man with natural divine strength and martial skill. The later Holy Dynasty commander carries a chilling murderous aura and the disciplined bearing of a veteran general, while his recreated younger self again appears among Great Xuan’s first disciples. The corpus does not establish fixed hair, eye, or uniform details across resets. A representative war-era portrayal can use restrained black military clothing, golden source-power lines, and a starlit command setting without implying those choices persist through every lifetime. (Chapter 61; Chapters 1128–1129; Chapters 1192–1194; Chapters 1284–1292)

He is loyal, grateful, competitive, and increasingly formidable as an organizer. In familiar military settings he can become proud and severe; in unknown systems such as Taiyan or the Carefree Dreamscape, he slows down, observes rules, and reasons from incomplete evidence. Humility and ambition coexist: he feels guilty about falling short of his teacher, yet does not envy faster allies or abandon his responsibilities. His maturity consists less in becoming gentle than in learning when raw force and past victories provide a dangerously incomplete model of the opponent. (Chapters 1128–1134; Chapters 1192–1201; Chapters 1309–1311)

Abilities and cultivation

Xuanhuang Immortal Heart Mantra

Li Ping personally transmits the Xuanhuang Immortal Heart Mantra to Sun Erlang when opening Great Xuan’s cultivation path. The discipline removes the Immortal-Mortal Miasma and helps practitioners preserve sanity against the overwhelming temptation of immortal spiritual qi. Its success makes it a core practice for Great Qi’s guards and later armies. It still requires will and cultivation: the mantra does not erase ordinary fear, prevent moral hesitation, or guarantee victory over a stronger enemy. In the war-era chronology, Sun Erlang remains one of its principal military practitioners and organizers. (Chapters 1128–1129; Chapter 1299)

Sitting Immortal Art

Also taught directly by Li Ping, the Sitting Immortal Art is a profound cultivation method whose aura later reminds Taiyan observers of Mountain Sitting. It enables exceptionally rapid advancement and strong accumulated cultivation, carrying Sun Erlang from his first qi to Nascent Soul Great Completion while he remains remarkably young. Outsiders do not receive a complete mechanical explanation, and resemblance does not establish that every effect is identical to Mountain Sitting. Intermediate realms occur during off-page Holy Dynasty expansion, so the confirmed endpoints should not be padded with invented breakthrough scenes. (Chapters 1128–1129; Chapters 1193–1194)

Truth Fruit creator experience

During his envoy mission, Sun Erlang obtains and uses a Truth Fruit to enter an experience in which he creates and observes a miniature world. The state exposes him to a creator’s perspective and supports his understanding of the new age and the Heavenly Sovereign’s message. It is temporary access to insight, not a lasting formal elevation or proof that Sun Erlang can freely create worlds afterward. Once the experience ends, its value lies in memory, perspective, and diplomacy rather than a new permanent cultivation realm. (Chapters 1246–1248)

Annihilating Wind of Absolute Extinction

In the later recreated path, the Holy Master grants Sun Erlang a Foundation Establishment Wonder that becomes the Annihilating Wind of Absolute Extinction. He can merge into a black baleful whirlwind for rapid assault or escape, retaining it as part of his Golden Core-perfection combat set during the Carefree Dreamscape sequence. The technique belongs to this new trajectory, not the earlier Nascent Soul commander’s original progression. Specialized Dreamscape demons can threaten or devour the wind form, showing that speed and destructive mobility do not make it invulnerable. (Chapters 1309–1311)

Carefree Dreamscape gains

Sun Erlang’s recreated self later learns Spirit Devouring in the Carefree Dreamscape, using slain insect bodies to replenish himself through a prolonged siege. He and his companions also obtain Contemplation of Mountains Rivers Epochs, which theoretically freezes the user’s lifespan while ages pass externally. These powers arise through simulated worlds whose deaths, rewards, and rules do not map cleanly onto ordinary Xuanhuang cultivation. Sun Erlang does not test the contemplation art across real millions of years, and the Dreamscape’s world-shattering scenes do not establish a permanent “world-destruction realm.” His latest confirmed activity is continued exploration. (Chapters 1355–1357; Chapter 1376)

Stage / Realm / AbilityChapter(s)Notes
First layer Qi Condensation1129Draws qi into his body shortly after receiving Li Ping's teachings.
Nascent Soul Great CompletionBy 1194Taiyan's Chen Tianhai explicitly identifies his young-age state; intermediate realms occur off-page during Holy Dynasty expansion.
Truth Fruit creator experience1246-1248Temporarily experiences creating and observing a miniature world; this is insight access, not a permanent formal realm.
Golden Core Perfection (Carefree recreation)1309A later recreated trajectory explicitly displays peak/complete Golden Core; it is separate from the Holy Dynasty Nascent Soul chronology.

Relationships

  • Li Ping is Sun Erlang’s teacher and sovereign in the Holy Dynasty timeline. Sun Erlang’s gratitude develops into durable military and administrative loyalty rather than passive dependence.
  • Wang Xuanba is his fellow seeker, junior disciple, battlefield companion, and partner across recreated timelines. Their contrasting temperaments make Sun Erlang the more cautious planner in unfamiliar territory.
  • Yi Xing’s remains become the basis of Sun Erlang’s diplomatic mission to Taiyan, where Yi Shu and Chen Tianhai correct his assumptions about ancient power.
  • Daoist Hundred Flowers is both a high-level contact and a test of Sun Erlang’s combat confidence during his work as Truth envoy.
  • Li Fan encounters and studies Sun Erlang in multiple lives. His resets create distinct Sun Erlang trajectories rather than one character consciously remembering every chronology.

Items

  • The Taiyan Boat is entrusted by Li Ping to Sun Erlang for travel to the Ruins Abyss and transport of spiritual energy. Operational custody does not make the ancient vessel his original creation or permanent personal property.
  • A Dao Deviation Stone is carried during the Taiyan visit and used to perceive computational strain and simulated processes; the article does not establish continuing custody after that mission.
  • The Truth Fruit is temporarily obtained and consumed to enter the Truth Heavenly Sovereign’s creator experience. It no longer remains as a held item after use.
