Medicine King True Cauldron
The Medicine King True Cauldron is the great vessel in which the ancient Medicine King Sect carried sleeping disciples, records, resources, and its inheritance away from the Xuanhuang Realm. Although Li Fan later captures its control core and operates it, the cauldron’s sect provenance and the people residing within it remain distinct from his temporary control (Chapters 113, 241, 609–612).
History
Medicine King Sect exodus
The cauldron departs with the Medicine King Sect under the protection of the Grand Dream of Spring and Autumn Formation. Small Medicine King Cauldrons function as keys to its concealed interior after it later falls toward Cangwu Abyss. Its passengers include multiple generations and high-realm elders in suspended sleep, making the vessel an ark for a community rather than a container of ownerless loot (Chapters 113, 241, 392–408).
Li Fan seizes operational control
Li Fan enters using a small cauldron, extracts the needed inheritance from Linghu Chang, reproduces Longevity Green Energy, and passes the Gate of Life and Death. He then takes a control core originally prepared for Liu Yihang and spends seven days refining the True Cauldron. This grants basic operation and access to its recordings, but advanced functions still require the Medicine King Sect’s Longevity Green Energy (Chapters 609–612).
Holy Embryo voyage to the Immortal Ruins
In one timeline, Li Fan uses chaos and perception-blocking preparations to launch the cauldron from Xuanhuang. The mortal Holy Embryo Li Fan resides inside, controls the vessel, and observes the approach to the Immortal Ruins through a prepared telescope. The pressure eventually tears the cauldron apart; the Holy Embryo’s role is pilot and resident, not cargo owned by the cauldron or Medicine King Sect (Chapters 795–803).
Fragmentary true nature
Late investigation of the cauldron’s tiniest particles shows them gathering into a Go-piece shape. Li Fan consequently identifies the vessel as related to an Immortal Realm fragment or gray Go piece and incorporates that material history into his broader Immortal Domain project. This revelation expands what the cauldron is without erasing its long use as the Medicine King Sect’s ark (Chapters 1359–1373).
Description and function
The True Cauldron can shrink, conceal itself, travel outside the Xuanhuang Realm, and contain a large transparent interior with sealed regions, control spaces, disciples, stores, and formations. Its exterior withstands extraordinary travel but is not indestructible; proximity to the Immortal Ruins produces creaking, deformation, and eventual collapse (Chapters 392–408, 609–612, 800–801).
Its central purpose is preservation. The Grand Dream of Spring and Autumn Formation maintains sleepers, while the Gate of Life and Death and control core limit access to deeper functions. The cauldron records its voyage, carries sect resources, and can serve as a mobile refuge, but its systems are intertwined with Medicine King cultivation rather than universally available to any captor (Chapters 241, 609–612).
Abilities and limitations
Concealed world and suspended population
The cauldron’s interior supports a large population and stores them in a long-term dream formation. Small cauldrons provide entry keys, yet possessing a key does not automatically breach the Gate of Life and Death or command the main vessel. Disruption of the protective formation and incomplete integration by individual sleepers create exploitable gaps (Chapters 241, 392–408, 609).
Navigation, concealment, and recording
The vessel can cross the boundary of Xuanhuang, conceal its presence, record external scenes, and be coated or modified to frustrate divine-sense detection. These capabilities allow the Holy Embryo’s covert departure, but trajectory and safety remain vulnerable to the Immortal Ruins’ attraction and to the cauldron’s material limits (Chapters 609–612, 788, 795–803).
Control requirements
The control core grants navigation and basic functions after refinement. Higher functions require Longevity Green Energy and knowledge of the World-Saving Longevity Scripture. Li Fan’s successful takeover therefore depends on reproducing sect-specific cultivation and exploiting an intended succession mechanism, not simply touching the cauldron (Chapters 609–612).
Custody and users
The Medicine King Sect is the cauldron’s historical owner and beneficiary. Liu Ruchen and the sect’s elders use it to preserve their people and inheritance; the sleeping disciples remain persons under its protection, not an inventory transferred with the hull (Chapters 113, 241).
Li Fan later gains operational control through the core, stores the vessel in his cave heaven, and assigns Fang Zaiji to study and strengthen it. The Holy Embryo later resides within and pilots it beyond Xuanhuang. These are successive forms of control, access, research, and residence; none retroactively cancels the cauldron’s Medicine King identity (Chapters 609–612, 659, 795–803).
