Truth

Truth, displayed as [Truth], is the rare treasure that turns Li Fan’s completed experience into a simulated history and returns him to a previously established anchor. Its awakening, rules, charging cycle, and later growth make it an autonomous system bound to Li Fan, not a conventional artifact he can freely lend or command without conditions (Chapters 1–2).

History

Awakening and the first returns

Truth awakens only at the end of Li Fan’s first mortal life. In the next life it presents the maxim “Truth to lies, reality to dream,” offers to virtualize the present, and returns him to his original anchor with his lived experience intact. This establishes its central paradox: a timeline genuinely experienced by Li Fan can be reclassified as simulation once the treasure activates (Chapters 1–2).

Retention, anchors, and Foundation Establishment

At the end of a simulation, Truth offers structured retention choices: one possessed item, Li Fan’s cultivation, or the memories of one closely connected person; he may instead take none and accelerate recharging. After repeated experiments he unlocks additional anchors and eventually spends roughly a hundred attempts learning to build his foundation with the intangible treasure. As his Foundation Treasure, Truth can reproduce the laws and forms of heavenly treasures it has absorbed or Li Fan has comprehended (Chapters 2, 12, 60, 160–165).

Expansion beyond ordinary resets

In later lives, Li Fan uses Truth not merely to escape death but to preserve unique artifacts, test identities and histories, and absorb fundamental structures that expand its anchor and transformation functions. Its integration with his cultivation deepens until changes to Truth can strengthen derived abilities such as the phantom Wooden Sword without appearing as an ordinary inventory change (Chapters 801–803, 1126–1135, 1349–1350).

Description and function

Truth has no stable handheld body in the supplied corpus. It appears to Li Fan as a darkened separation from the surrounding world and a luminous interface of prompts, status lines, choices, images, and charging information. Li Fan names it, but the treasure itself determines when it is charged, what preservation categories are available, and whether a return can occur (Chapters 1–2).

Its governing principle is “Truth to Lies, Reality to Illusion.” When activated at sufficient charge, the life just lived becomes a simulation and Li Fan returns to an anchor with memory continuity. This allows him to convert foreknowledge into new decisions, repeat dangerous investigations, and carry selected gains across otherwise discarded histories (Chapters 1–12).

Abilities and limitations

Anchored return and automatic protection

Truth returns Li Fan to a set anchor rather than to any freely chosen instant. Charging normally accumulates with time, has a finite cap, and can be consumed automatically to protect him from fatal harm. Ending a simulation and abandoning all retention speeds the next charge, but every such choice sacrifices other carryover benefits (Chapters 1–2, 12).

Preservation across simulations

The end-of-life menu can preserve one item, retain cultivation, or transfer a close person’s simulated memories to that person. These are mutually exclusive selections in the early rules, not unlimited storage. Li Fan’s preservation of the Final Dissociation Disc illustrates both the power and cost: he carries the unique artifact across a reset while his higher cultivation reverts (Chapters 2, 801–803).

Foundation Treasure transformations

Once Li Fan establishes his foundation with Truth, it can assume a locally reproduced heavenly-treasure form whose law he has absorbed or sufficiently comprehended. The reproduced Canghai Pearl law is therefore a manifestation inside his foundation, not continuing custody of the original physical pearl. This adaptability removes ordinary compatibility constraints, but acquiring a new form still depends on genuine absorption or comprehension rather than imagination alone (Chapters 160–165).

Persistence and exposure risks

Return does not guarantee perfect erasure of every danger. Truth requires charge, retains only permitted gains, and its activation can draw the notice of entities able to perceive changes in reality and illusion. The later corpus also shows that True Immortal-scale contamination and forces can persist in ways that complicate the safety of a reset; Truth is exceptionally powerful, not an unconditional immunity from every higher law (Chapters 1126–1135, 1387–1389).

Custody and users

Truth is permanently associated with Li Fan from its awakening onward. No other character is shown owning, wearing, or directly operating it. Li Fan can select among its offered options and build strategies around its rules, but he cannot transfer the treasure itself, bypass its charge at will, or rewrite its menus. “Custody” is therefore best understood as inseparable integration with a sentient or rule-governed rare treasure (Chapters 1–2, 160–165).
