Li Ximing
Li Ximing, later known as Daoist Master Zhaojing, is the Li Family's principal alchemist and its first enduring Purple Mansion guardian. His Bright Yang cultivation combines the Heaven-Venerating Gate with the Fate divine ability Radiance Under Heaven. His medicinal work supports the family's cultivators and alliances, while his commitment to Li Zhouwei gradually draws him into the struggle over an imperial dynasty. (Chapters 1017–1019, 1660, 1722)
Biography
Childhood and apprenticeship
Ximing grows up as the son of Li Yuanping, whose position in the rising Li Family gives the child both protection and an unusually demanding future. His early talent is a source of pleasure to his father and grandfather: when Xuanxuan asks about his reading, Ximing eagerly demonstrates the gentle white Pill Flame he has learned to summon. This affection helps make alchemy an activity through which he can win recognition, long before he understands the responsibilities attached to his place in the family. (Chapters 332, 359)
Xiao Yuansi gives his talent a practical direction. After examining him, Yuansi supplies the Snake Essence Pill formula in an exchange involving the family's Snake Dragon fruit. Ximing's apprenticeship teaches him to recognize, collect, preserve, and process medicinal ingredients rather than merely imitate a finished pill. The family's earlier alchemical inheritance and its relationship with the Xiao Family provide access, but his progress still depends on study and the detailed work of handling herbs. (Chapters 352, 411–414)
His cultivation advances alongside this training. At nine he has reached Radiant Lure, the second Embryonic Breathing stage; later he reaches Azure Essence and returns from his period with the Xiao Family carrying the habits and equipment of a young alchemist. His elders treat his accomplishments as assets for the entire household. The gratitude surrounding his apprenticeship therefore joins professional ambition to obligations toward teachers and relatives, even though Ximing would eventually find those obligations much easier to discharge through pills than through leadership. (Chapters 390, 411, 414)
The confident child conceals a more fragile response to his father's expectations. In his later confession to Li Xijun, Ximing explains that Yuanping ordered him to kill someone when he was ten. He obeyed while terrified and tried to imitate the composure expected of him. This experience gives his later misconduct and evasiveness a particular cause: he can perform the appearance of a suitable heir, but the prospect of becoming one frightens him. (Chapter 432)
Succession crisis and retreat into alchemy
As the family considers succession, Ximing's Golden Palace prospects place him under scrutiny. Li Yuanjiao brings him home and hands him Golden Yang Radiant Origin, expecting him to pursue the cultivation path supported by the family's resources. The gift is valuable, yet Ximing receives it while preoccupied with the consequences of his behavior away from home. His skill and lineage make him useful; they also prevent him from quietly abandoning the role his elders have imagined for him. (Chapters 430–431)
He confesses to Xijun that he has repeatedly succumbed to wine and women despite Yuansi's warnings. His fear centers on the Clan Affairs Courtyard, the elders' judgment, and the possibility of disgracing his father. He admits that his restraint has often depended on fear of punishment. Xijun responds angrily and brings the matter before the elders, forcing private wrongdoing into the family succession debate rather than allowing Ximing to hide behind his professional promise. (Chapters 432, 434)
Yuanping proposes a severe response, while Yuanjiao's intervention weighs Ximing's alchemical usefulness against the damage to discipline and reputation. The explanation offered publicly involves hostile divine influence, but it serves as a protective account for the family's handling of the scandal. Ximing's own confession establishes his choices and fears. His subsequent removal from succession is accompanied by a revised arrangement for clan leadership, relieving him of an office for which both his conduct and temperament have become liabilities. (Chapters 434–435)
The settlement sends him toward cultivation and alchemy at Yuting. He feels relief at escaping leadership, but guilt remains: he refines pills for the family and imagines a future of quiet work beside a fire vein. This retreat offers a genuine way to serve others without confronting every demand of political authority. It also leaves his relationship with Yuanping damaged. The professional freedom he gains cannot repair the estrangement that has made it necessary. (Chapters 437–438)
Qi cultivation and the first Dao Foundation
The family's support for Ximing's cultivation continues despite the succession crisis. Yuanjiao gives him the Yang Nourishing Technique and Profound Yang Li Fire, while the mirror's blessing supplies Valley Wind Leading Fire. Together these resources allow him to work with his internal flame and refine the qi needed for Golden Palace cultivation. He advances rapidly, but recognizes the danger of unstable progress and pauses rather than simply continuing at the greatest possible speed. (Chapters 472, 481, 488, 497)
His relationship with Meng Zhuoyun exposes the limits of that growing discipline. Their intimacy and dual cultivation benefit his progress, and he sees her alchemical talent as a way to relieve himself of low-level pill work. Zhuoyun tells him that he treats her as a tool and offers no sincerity; his response includes strangling her before turning back to instructions for the day's medicines. Their association contributes to his cultivation, but her explicit protest shows the human cost of his instrumental treatment of someone close to him. (Chapter 515)
Ximing reaches the seventh Qi Cultivation layer, then the eighth and ninth, as his fire cultivation and the family's medicines support his preparation. Before entering Foundation seclusion, he gives Xijun the Essence Gathering Pill he has kept. The gesture connects his own breakthrough to his cousin's future rather than treating every scarce resource as personal property. It also reflects the family's division of labor: Ximing can retreat into a long cultivation effort because relatives continue managing the dangers and demands outside it. (Chapters 515, 520, 522, 524, 530)
During the breakthrough, golden visions unexpectedly accelerate the formation of his Radiant Origin Pass. The mirror's intervention with Bright Yang Metallic Essence supplies an explanation beyond the effort Ximing himself can see. He emerges pleased by his unusually quick success, only to learn that Yuanping has died during his seclusion. His father's death makes the earlier rupture irreversible. Foundation Establishment gives him a stronger and more secure place in the clan, but the achievement arrives without the reconciliation he had deferred. (Chapters 545–547)
Alchemist pillar amid successive family losses
Foundation Establishment expands the range of medicines Ximing can supply. He develops the Three Aspects Breaking Realm Pill in distinct Qi Cultivation and Foundation variants, distributes the former, and retains valuable higher-grade medicine for the family. Overseas gifts carried through Li Qinghong and Xijun help his own cultivation. This exchange makes his secluded work part of a wider system: other relatives find resources and guard the household, while his pill-making converts their gains into prospects for the next generation. (Chapters 583, 624, 680)
The arrangement remains vulnerable to the loss of those relatives. News of Yuanjiao's shattered life jade leaves Ximing stunned, and further bereavements deepen his sense that the elders sustaining the clan are disappearing. Xuanxuan reassures him by pointing out how extraordinary their predecessors were, tempering the comparisons by which Ximing judges himself. Li Xuanfeng also recognizes his inward temperament. Their guidance gives him room to become an effective specialist rather than reproduce every ancestor's outward courage and political skill. (Chapters 613, 629, 666)
His cultivation reaches the middle and then late Foundation stages, and his Radiant Essence studies strengthen a path that began with a modified Golden Palace foundation. Greater power does not immediately produce equivalent battle experience. Against Mu Moli and Yu Mujian, Xijun's tactical support remains important. Ximing's ability to suppress opposing foundations and mana can create a decisive advantage, but he must still survive the positioning, timing, and countermeasures that surround the exchange of techniques. (Chapters 669, 684, 728, 762–764)
The battles along the river make these limitations harder to ignore. Ximing's power is valuable to collective defense, yet sustained pressure exposes his shortage of reliable escape and combat methods. His medicines, inheritances, and increasingly formidable Bright Yang cultivation help the clan endure, while Zhouwei's more orthodox path offers a complementary prospect for its future. Ximing becomes a pillar through specialization and cooperation; the family cannot safely treat either his alchemy or his suppression abilities as a substitute for every other kind of strength. (Chapters 821–822, 861, 943)
His own descendants also temper easy assumptions about Bright Yang cultivation. Xijun reports that his children are few and that a recent root-bone assessment finds his eldest son without spiritual orifices; he identifies Madam An as Ximing's wife. The result troubles Xijun as he considers the next generation, despite the supposed fertility of Bright Yang cultivation. Xijun’s account differs from the household Liu Changdie expected from his supposed past-life memories. (Chapter 661)
Radiant Sky Stone and the contested Purple ascent
Advancing to Purple Mansion requires resources and secret techniques that Ximing cannot produce through ordinary effort alone. His study of Yang Origin and the other Radiant Essence preparations brings progress, but the family's decisions also have to account for Zhouwei's exceptional potential. The Radiant Sky Stone becomes the center of that conflict. Using a rare breakthrough resource for Ximing promises an immediate guardian; preserving it for Zhouwei would invest in a different, potentially greater future. (Chapters 791–792, 914, 919)
The stone reaches him through events that leave Xijun apparently dead. Its delivery binds Ximing's opportunity to grief and to the schemes of stronger cultivators. Xuanxuan ultimately supports using it, but Ximing cannot regard the resource as an uncomplicated reward for his own talent. Xuanfeng's loss further strips away the elders who once stood between the family and its enemies. By the time he approaches his breakthrough, his retreat from political responsibility has become less sustainable: the clan needs someone who can replace the protection it has lost. (Chapters 935–936, 947–949)
Yuansi supplies another decisive intervention. He completes the Radiant Violet Pill at personal cost and delivers it for Ximing's ascent, despite the competing preference that valuable support should favor Zhouwei. Heavenly Lantern and Jewel Steps help prepare Ximing's spirit and perception, while he leaves instructions for the family before secluding himself. His ascent brings him through the mansions of his cultivation and a confrontation with ignorance, ending in the formation of a Purple Mansion dharma body and his first divine ability. (Chapters 954–955, 1010, 1012–1015)
His return changes the family's standing. Registration establishes the name Zhaojing, and Xiao Chuting helps position him among the regional powers. Ximing now has the authority expected of a Daoist Master, but he also encounters the practical limits of his new restoration powers when another person's damaged vital mansions cannot simply be repaired. The breakthrough makes him a durable guardian rather than an effortless answer to every loss. His later confrontation with Tianwan shows that gratitude for survival has not erased resentment over the price paid for the stone. (Chapters 1017–1019, 1046, 1558)
Changxi's protection, ambush, and the sea's end
Ximing's new rank brings him into agreements with Changxi and the Cui Family. He initially refuses the Mountain-Charging Sea-Pacing Tiger, then receives usable refining and body-cultivation inheritances as their cooperation develops. Changxi eventually transfers the Tiger voluntarily by withdrawing his divine ability imprint. These arrangements give Ximing protection and new options while binding him to allies whose plans reach beyond what they immediately explain. His caution therefore coexists with a growing dependence on their support. (Chapters 1037, 1077, 1080, 1085)
The Changxiao ambush exposes the gap between Purple Mansion authority and actual survival. Curse-fire wounds his dharma body, and escape through the earth veins leaves him with damage that his Bright Yang restoration cannot simply remove. At the sea's end he coerces Xia Shouyu into finding resources for his recovery. Her work draws her into danger from demons. She becomes useful to his enterprise, but their association begins under compulsion rather than as an unqualified expression of loyalty. (Chapters 1144–1152, 1193)
Recovery advances through alchemy and new knowledge. The True Profound Quintessence-Gathering Pill seals the external curse-fire into his Juque and restores movement, leaving the internal affliction to dissolve gradually. The stolen Heaven's Will Single-Intent Method opens a different approach to medicine. He exchanges Little Peacock Karma for ancient True Fire, obtains the Hidden Refinement Qi Pill and Moon Orchid, and starts nurturing a great Supreme Yin medicine. By the time his wounds largely heal, the ordeal has also given him a more powerful professional foundation. (Chapters 1195, 1208, 1225, 1240–1243)
His return to productive alchemy transforms the disaster into an enduring network of commissions. Tinglan supplies specialized fire and furnaces, while his old Furnace In The River finally breaks in bringing the Supreme Yin medicine to completion. Changxi's later-revealed arrangements involving the Kong Family and Fu En make clear that Ximing has been guided by a concealed protective scheme. He recognizes the manipulation without dismissing its value. His continuing respect for Changxi and his partnerships at sea reflect both the protection he received and the obligations that followed it. (Chapters 1277–1281)
Perfected Gate, northern war, and Southern Sea alchemy
New equipment and long cultivation strengthen the weaknesses exposed by the ambush. Ximing receives the Brilliant Yang King's Axe and works with Chu Minglian on the Ruler of Manifested Mountains and Rivers. He perfects the Heaven-Venerating Gate, freeing the space needed for a second divine ability. The Body Guarding Tiger Pass presents one possible direction, but his interest in Sovereign In Peril remains a plan. A subsequent agreement with Tinglan draws him toward Radiance Under Heaven instead. (Chapters 1375–1378, 1383, 1393, 1415–1416)
The northern fighting demands a broader repertoire than the Gate alone. Flame-Stepping Movement and radiant attacks give him options for maneuvering and striking, while Kuiqi's Surging Yang Star Command Treasure Disk supplies a powerful borrowed resource. Against Helian Wujiang, Ximing must account for the disk's finite uses and the cost of operating a treasure that still belongs to another cultivator. The battle and its aftermath leave injury and damage behind, showing that his perfected first ability has strengthened him without making borrowed equipment or physical risk irrelevant. (Chapters 1392, 1432–1434, 1443)
Alchemy provides a more sustainable route to influence. He undertakes the Serpent Water Suspension Powder commission using Cangzhou Serpent Scale, and studies the dangerous all-or-nothing method behind the Aspiration Ascension Profound Pill. His work for Huoyang produces a batch of Feather-Embracing Heart-Joining Pills tailored to her bloodline; she rewards him with the Red Pheasant Surging Radiant Flame. These exchanges increase his resources because he supplies something particular to each patron, rather than merely trading interchangeable cultivation medicines. (Chapters 1455, 1475, 1479, 1496, 1508)
Meanwhile he completes the preparatory Embryonic cycles associated with his new Fate path and obtains Bright-Clarity Vital Qi. Zhouwei delivers the Qilin Radiant Yang Scripture, adding another deep alchemical inheritance, and Ximing assists Zhugong when injury makes aid urgent. These commitments join the family, Southern Sea patrons, and northern allies into a network that rests heavily on his willingness and ability to refine medicine. His second divine ability remains unfinished, but his existing skills already let him support projects much larger than his own secluded cultivation. (Chapters 1485, 1512–1514)
Wanlin and rebuilding a failed second foundation
Ximing establishes the Immortal Foundation for Radiance Under Heaven before entering the Wanlin struggle. That progress offers the prospect of a second divine ability, yet his relationship with Tianwan remains strained by Xijun's apparent death and the Radiant Sky Stone. The expedition forces him to cooperate while retaining those grievances. Its dangers also demand careful coordination with Zhouwei: valuable opportunities emerge among old restrictions and rival lineages, but the family cannot afford to expose its most sensitive resources or assume that every encounter can be won. (Chapters 1537, 1558, 1562–1566)
Their gains require judgment as much as courage. Ximing selects the Flying Profound Chaos Stone and Mountain-Supervising Spirit-Pointing Talisman from Hongxue's treasures, while Zhouwei shares the Heavenly Crow Merging Fire, the Scripture of Refulgent Firelight, and access to the Two Bright Rites of Layered Fire. Some acquisitions fit Ximing's cultivation immediately; others are better kept for relatives or exchanged. He recognizes that possessing an abundance of rare treasures can invite lethal attention, and refuses to dispose of the useful Gathering Wood cauldron simply because a buyer offers an opportunity. (Chapters 1592–1599)
His attempt to elevate the Fate foundation fails. Five years of nurturing do not make up for the weakness of his Dao conduct, and the failed effort consumes resources and part of his accumulated qi. It does not remove his Purple Mansion realm or perfected first divine ability. Empty Sleeve Profound Dao Powder allows him to rebuild the foundation, turning an alchemical commission for Si Yuanli into practical support for his own recovery. The setback teaches him that preparation for a second ability requires more than time and access to ingredients. (Chapter 1607)
He continues contributing while rebuilding. Newly refined artifacts and the combination of his three flames give him more ways to fight, though an unexpected attack still forces him to rely on the Supplementary Court Verdant Profound Cauldron. He also brings inheritances home for Li Suining, helping the family choose among Stellar Enclosure paths and passing on Liu Changdie's calculation scripture. These decisions extend the value of the expedition beyond his own failed advancement: its spoils become means of protecting current relatives and developing future specialists. (Chapters 1612–1613, 1621–1627)
Committing to Zhouwei's dynastic gamble
The defeat of Changxiao Gate yields a further collection of resources, but Ximing and Zhouwei again have to decide how to use them. Spirit Chalice Radiance can become an artifact or support Ximing's existing radiant techniques; they choose direct cultivation value. Other inheritances provide options for the clan's next stage. The discussion occurs alongside a more consequential decision: Ximing acknowledges that his personal hope of reaching the Purple Mansion Threshold has diminished, while Zhouwei's imperial future now offers the lake its strongest prospect of survival and advancement. (Chapters 1654, 1660–1661)
Their exchanges turn that commitment into material support. The Mountain-Supervising Spirit-Pointing Talisman pays for the Art of Perfecting the Sleeve Estate. Ximing brews Spirit Chalice Radiance into draughts to strengthen techniques that had progressed poorly, and continues arranging armor, medicine, and other commissions through trusted intermediaries. These choices distribute rare acquisitions according to usefulness. Ximing's alchemy finances and sustains the dynastic project, while the project's gains in turn equip him to remain an effective guardian. (Chapters 1672–1674, 1684)
His treatment of people also carries obligations that do not disappear into calculations about resources. His care for Kuangyu Queyi is a real personal commitment, and his dealings with Guo Nanwu depend on assessing reliability as well as crafting terms. At the same time, he and Zhouwei preserve a contingency through Li Quewan, whose separate cultivation offers a possible future if the central family's gamble fails. Ximing supports Zhouwei without assuming that the danger to the lake has thereby vanished. (Chapters 1677, 1683–1684)
Zhouwei secures Attuned Purple Intent Essence through an exchange involving the Crane-Embracing Stone and gives it to Ximing. Ximing initially considers the junior's needs more urgent, but Zhouwei insists that completing the elder's second divine ability is itself essential to the family. The gift makes their reliance reciprocal rather than a simple transfer of everything toward one heir. Ximing accepts it and prepares another attempt at Radiance Under Heaven, with his Fate foundation ready but the actual divine ability still to be attained. (Chapter 1683)
Radiance Under Heaven and the Qusi alliance
After another five or six years of seclusion, Ximing succeeds in mastering Radiance Under Heaven. Attuned Purple Intent Essence compensates for the weak Dao conduct that nearly causes another failure. His appearance acquires a more imposing majesty, and his perception now reveals luminous strands corresponding to the cultivation and relationships of those around him. The achievement gives him a second Purple Mansion divine ability; it also turns forms of authority that he had once tried to escape into a power he must now understand and use deliberately. (Chapters 1721–1722)
The new ability carries unsettling consequences. His command can reinforce favored followers or strip away cultivation, while the Light of the Six Directions can overwhelm a person's sense of self. Si Yuanli recognizes the danger of influence that leaves little obvious trace, and fears the permanent damage possible after prolonged control. Ximing's dealings with Tinglan draw on greater established trust. His new authority strengthens the family's position, but it makes confidence in his intentions more consequential for allies who lack a Fate ability of their own. (Chapters 1722–1724)
He applies the advancement to practical work as well as politics. The Three-Branched Qiuxin Leaf becomes six green-purple pills, two of which go to Purple Smoke Gate, and he tailors medicine and access to the Layered Fire treasure to Li Jiangqian. New spiritual conditions also make him reconsider the cost of cultivating the Sleeve Estate art. That discussion remains prospective. His immediate contribution is a combination of improved alchemy, carefully directed resources, and the protection of Zhouwei's circumstances behind the family's public account of seclusion and injury. (Chapters 1724–1728)
At the later meeting over Mount Qusi, Ximing supports cooperation grounded in Wei's legacy while recognizing that an institution's interests can differ from those of an individual ally. Diyan gives him a thin bronze resonance stone as a means of future contact and instructions. Ximing remains an active guardian and negotiator, bringing the family's resources and imperial ambitions into a wider Southern Sea relationship. The alliance is a developing arrangement rather than proof that every participant's interests have become identical. (Chapters 1783–1784)
Appearance and personality
As a young alchemist, Ximing wears Daoist robes and carries a medicine pouch; the Azure Manifestation beads accompany him during the anxious return from the Xiao Family. His manner often conceals his feelings rather than expressing genuine composure. The contrast between his quiet exterior and confession to Xijun establishes how much fear lies behind his attempts to look like a suitable clan heir. Later grief can break that reserve abruptly, as news of Yuanjiao's death interrupts his absorption in an alchemical formula. (Chapters 431–432, 613)
Purple Mansion ascent reconstructs his appearance into that of a young Daoist with golden eyes, and white-gold robes become associated with Zhaojing. His cultivation produces heavenly light and purple flames without requiring those phenomena to destroy everything around him: at the perfected Gate breakthrough, gardenia petals remain unburned. After attaining Radiance Under Heaven, his face appears harmonious and his relaxed expression carries an imposing, inviolable majesty. The visual change reflects the Fate ability's effect on his inherent bearing. (Chapters 1015–1017, 1383, 1721–1722)
Ximing prefers sustained inward work and takes deep satisfaction in understanding a medicine. His attachment to the broken Furnace In The River and gratitude toward Yuansi show that usefulness does not exhaust his affections. Nevertheless, professional talent does not guarantee generosity in private relationships: Zhuoyun's protest and his response expose cruelty and self-interest. His later loyalty to Zhouwei and recurring aid to allies develop alongside that history, making his growing authority a matter of responsibility rather than evidence that his character has always matched his abilities. (Chapters 515, 666, 1278, 1660, 1683)
Abilities and cultivation
Alchemy and medicinal practice
Ximing's alchemy begins with Yuansi's instruction in formulas, flame use, and the properties of medicinal materials. Gathering and preserving herbs are part of that training, so his later expertise rests on understanding ingredients as well as controlling a furnace. Foundation Establishment enables him to produce more valuable medicines, including different grades of the Three Aspects Breaking Realm Pill. Its Qi Cultivation spirit-pill and Foundation profound-pill variants serve different recipients; his success with one does not make every pill carrying the name identical in grade or effect. (Chapters 352, 411–414, 583, 624)
At Purple Mansion, his work becomes increasingly specific to the person and lineage commissioning it. He handles the Cangzhou Serpent Scale for Serpent Water Suspension Powder, studies a method that concentrates an entire batch's medicinal power into one Aspiration Ascension pill, and tailors eight Feather-Embracing Heart-Joining Pills to Huoyang's bloodline. Such work depends on access to suitable ingredients and a correct understanding of the intended cultivation. A balanced environment in the mirror grotto, for example, is unsuitable for the Pit Water suspension medicine; an excellent cultivation site is not automatically an excellent site for every formula. (Chapters 1455, 1475, 1479, 1508)
His efficiency grows through interactions among Valley Wind Leading Fire, spiritual flames, specialized furnaces, and Heaven's Will Single-Intent Method. The True Fire can nurture medicine while he attends to other work, whereas destructive flames need careful control. His own unsuccessful Fate ascent and limited supply of valuable ingredients show that alchemical skill does not eliminate cultivation costs. After attaining Radiance Under Heaven, he refines the damaged Three-Branched Qiuxin Leaf in nine sun-and-moon cycles into six pills, using Valley Water and Purple Essence to support the intended result. The faster completion is a practical gain from his advancement, not a promise that any medicine can be made without preparation. (Chapters 1277–1278, 1607, 1726)
Heaven's Will Single-Intent Method
Ximing receives the physical Heaven's Will Single-Intent Method through Xia Shouyu's people at the sea's end. The ancient inheritance approaches medicine through intent and life, going beyond the conventional matching of ingredient temperament and essence. He initially doubts how readily he can use it. Its depth is also dangerous: ordinary learners risk refining their own lives away. Reading the enormous inheritance therefore opens a possibility without itself conferring safe mastery, and his first great medicine requires prolonged experimentation and nearly two years of nurturing. (Chapters 1208, 1243, 1276)
The method allows him to unite ingredients through an appropriate meaning. The Hidden Refinement Qi Pill and Moon Orchid become a Supreme Yin medicine, while the relationship of Huoyang's bloodline materials informs the later Feather-Embracing Heart-Joining Pills. These results still depend on the ingredients' real qualities and on Ximing's capacity to direct the process. Valley Wind Leading Fire and the ancient True Fire supply compatible support, and the Qilin Radiant Yang Scripture gives him further methods to investigate. His later Fate ability improves the speed and control of medicine-making, but does not establish that he can ignore ingredient proportions or obtain any effect by wishing for it. (Chapters 1243, 1278, 1479, 1512–1513, 1726)
Valley Wind Leading Fire
Valley Wind Leading Fire comes from the blessing of the Immortal Mirror, supported by the family's Profound Pearl Talisman Seeds. It gives Ximing exceptional affinity for drawing, circulating, and controlling fire in cultivation and alchemy. With the Yang Nourishing Technique, it helps him refine internal fire and produce the qi needed for his Foundation path. He can also work with foreign flames that would otherwise be much harder to direct, making the blessing a persistent advantage across changes in his realm and equipment. (Chapters 349, 472, 515)
The affinity is particularly important when he binds the ancient True Fire within his Juque, manipulates Tinglan's Boundless Water-Fire, or receives the tenacious Heavenly Crow Merging Fire. It lets these different resources become usable parts of his alchemy and battle repertoire. Its limits are equally consequential. Curse-fire still cripples him after the Changxiao ambush, and his failed Fate attempt still costs qi and years of preparation. Fire control can manage a dangerous power without automatically removing its harmful origin or satisfying the Dao conduct required for another advancement. (Chapters 1152, 1193, 1243, 1277–1278, 1594, 1607)
Yang Nourishing Technique and internal fire
Yuanjiao supplies Ximing with a copied Yang Nourishing Technique manual and a captured portion of Profound Yang Li Fire. The Tu Longjian inheritance explains ways to nourish and transform related fire, giving Ximing a practical means of turning that resource toward his own cultivation. Long Marching Fire Essence supports the later Qi layers, and the mirror blessing improves his ability to handle the transformation. The manual, the external flame, and the resulting internal cultivation are distinct parts of that process. (Chapters 472, 481, 515, 520)
Later study reveals broader possibilities involving Profound Yang and Heavenly Yang fire, as well as supported Li Fire substitutions. Ximing and Zhouwei reconsider the inheritance for its usefulness beyond the earliest application. These transformations require the appropriate relationships among fire lineages. The technique does not make all spiritual fires interchangeable, and possession of the manual cannot substitute for obtaining a suitable flame or cultivating the necessary foundation. Its importance lies in making otherwise valuable but separate resources useful to a particular path. (Chapters 906, 1001)
Radiant Origin Pass and Radiant Essence conversion
Ximing first establishes the Radiant Origin Pass through the Golden Palace path. Bright Yang Metallic Essence associated with the Sun Seeker Ring accelerates his consolidation through the mirror's intervention, a cause he does not understand when he emerges. The Pass supplies generative light and a strong capacity to suppress opposing mana and foundations. Those properties make it particularly valuable against cultivators whose own power is vulnerable to Bright Yang suppression, rather than functioning as an unrestricted advantage against every opponent. (Chapters 545–547, 762–764)
His later conversion toward Radiant Essence strengthens the path, but the original foundation remains modified rather than becoming identical to Zhouwei's orthodox fifth-grade foundation. His fights illustrate why that distinction and his experience matter: powerful suppression can be accompanied by few effective movement techniques, limited endurance under pressure, or an opponent able to counter him through a superior body and sufficient control. The Pass supplies the basis for his later Bright Yang growth, while his actual survival continues to depend on allied tactics, equipment, and the development of complementary arts. (Chapters 684, 861, 943, 991–994)
Radiant Essence secret techniques
The Radiant Essence preparations Ximing demonstrably cultivates before his ascent are Yang Origin, Heavenly Lantern, and Jewel Steps. Yang Origin demands substantial study and produces a long commentary; Heavenly Lantern purifies the spirit platform and greatly improves reading and spell learning; Jewel Steps addresses inner demons and expands perception. Together they prepare the mind and spirit needed for Purple Mansion. His painstaking work on these techniques explains part of his readiness rather than reducing the ascent to the possession of a stone and pill. (Chapters 791, 954, 1010, 1031)
Great Fissure, associated with his golden eyes, reaches perfection during the ascent as a separate skill. The broader inheritance names additional secret techniques, including Reversal, Hundred Arms Arsenal, Imperial Edict, Golden Scales, and Red Cicada. Their presence in the scripture does not establish that Ximing masters all of them. He can consult powerful resources such as the Huai River Map to support understanding, but access to an ally's treasure and knowledge of a technique's name remain distinct from personal attainment. (Chapters 954, 1010, 1015, 1031, 1081)
Heaven-Venerating Gate
The Heaven-Venerating Gate is Ximing's first Purple Mansion divine ability. It manifests an imperial gate of white brick, accompanied by heavenly light and generative purple flame. Through it he suppresses and refines hostile powers and directs the phenomena of his Bright Yang cultivation. The Gate's force becomes central to both his defensive role and his medicine-making, including the concealment and control needed around sensitive alchemical work. Its visible grandeur follows a specific cultivation foundation; it is not evidence that he already possesses every sovereign ability of Bright Yang. (Chapters 1017, 1024, 1278)
Perfection fully refines the Gate into his Shenyang, multiplies its force, and frees space for another divine ability. Golden-robed, armored troops appear as part of its developed manifestation. They include Qi Cultivation and Foundation-level forms useful against numerous lesser manifestations, but most cannot directly fight Purple Mansion masters. The Gate remains heavy and comparatively unwieldy, and its purple flame is inferior to the ancient True Fire he later employs. These constraints explain why movement arts, spiritual flames, and artifacts remain important even after the first ability reaches its utmost state. (Chapters 1144, 1383, 1432)
Radiance Under Heaven creates a new interaction with the perfected Gate by giving its summoned troops a measure of awareness. A further merging into a general depends on the cultivation and Dao conduct needed to sustain it; Ximing's attainment of the second ability does not itself demonstrate that the entire development is complete. The combination broadens the Gate's potential while preserving the difference between an established effect and a future refinement. His latest confirmed state retains the perfected first ability alongside a newly attained second one. (Chapter 1722)
Purple dharma body and generative restoration
Purple Mansion ascent reconstructs Ximing's body and gives him the Bright Yang restoration associated with generative heavenly light. His Juque contains purple fire, and the Shenyang becomes part of his relationship with the great void. These structures matter to the way he stores and refines spiritual flames and to the internal basis of his divine ability. The young face and golden eyes of his reconstructed appearance accompany real changes in his cultivation, rather than serving as a cosmetic disguise. (Chapters 1015–1017, 1243)
Restoration is powerful but conditional. Damage to another person's vital mansions cannot be repaired by a simple application of his light, and foreign curse-fire can lodge within his own structures despite the generative nature of Bright Yang. After the ambush, external and internal fires interact in ways that impede healing; sealing them into the Juque allows a staged recovery rather than an instant cure. The retrieved and restored dharma body after the northern fighting likewise does not erase every baleful remnant. His body can recover from grave injury without granting unlimited endurance or immunity to hostile lineages. (Chapters 1046, 1152, 1193–1195, 1443)
Three spiritual flames
Ximing obtains the Profound Fire of the Three Phases' Guard by exchanging Little Peacock Karma. It is an ancient True Fire suited to gentle, autonomous nurturing of medicine, though direct contact can still damage his dharma body. He tests it, then binds and refines it within his Juque using his existing fire control. Its ability to continue nurturing a pill makes it especially useful alongside other commissions. Gentle alchemical behavior does not mean that the flame is harmless or that it supplies the same destructive force as a Merging Fire. (Chapters 1240–1243, 1277–1278)
Huoyang gives him the Red Pheasant Surging Radiant Flame in return for the bloodline medicine he refines. It harmonizes qi, transforms baleful forces, refines metal, and nourishes the spirit. Its spiritual nature also fits the Two Bright Rites of Layered Fire, which can inherit the characteristics of a Radiant Fire placed within it. The treasure holds one such Radiant Fire at a time, so choosing this flame favors its particular properties rather than combining every available fire into an unrestricted attack. (Chapters 1479, 1596)
The Heavenly Crow Merging Fire comes from Zhouwei's Wanlin gains. Its Supreme Yang lineage produces a tenacious flame that adheres to the dharma body, burns it, and erodes mana, giving Ximing a more destructive resource. Valley Wind Leading Fire helps him manage it, and later fighting combines his three flames with the Gate and other treasures. They remain different powers with different uses. Neither Returning Flame to Completion nor Desire-Origin Merging Fire is established as his personal flame, and the collection does not satisfy the much larger requirements of the highest White Light pathway. (Chapters 1594, 1621–1622, 1484)
Heavenly Radiance, Hidden Light
Ximing has access to the physical Heavenly Radiance, Hidden Light inheritance supplied through Kong Tingyun and Qinghong. The technique gathers concealed heavenly radiance in the Juque and at the brow, allowing a concentrated release that suppresses the spirit and cuts through hostile magic. Its accumulated force gives him a precise attack to complement the Gate's larger suppression. He temporarily puts the manuscript aside when rescuing another person takes priority, showing that obtaining the copy and mastering its use are separate stages of the association. (Chapter 1029)
The orthodox fourth-grade Bright Yang art remains comparatively weak as a killing method at Purple Mansion. Ximing's use in later fighting supplies a useful release of concentrated power, but it does not replace a stronger divine ability or become the same technique as Great Radiant White Light. Imperial Divergence Light provides another contrast: Hidden Light favors long accumulation and a heavy burst, whereas the later art emphasizes many sharp, rapidly moving streams. His repertoire improves through such complementary choices rather than a succession of names for one identical attack. (Chapters 1392, 1434, 1439, 1553, 1621)
Radiant Fire movement and resonance
Ximing selects fifth-grade Flame-Stepping Movement from Jiangqian's inheritance after perfecting the Gate. Its precise control makes it more practical for him than movement requiring a broader manifestation of radiance and deeper Dao conduct. Supreme Yang Resonance Radiant Art, practiced during his time at sea, supplies principles of the same origin that help his understanding. By the time he assesses the two, the resonance art is usable after years of work, but he does not claim an unrestricted mastery of either technique. (Chapter 1392)
Flame-Stepping Movement gives him important maneuvering options in the northern fighting, including combat against the Merciful Ones. It still falls short of what he would need to match Changxiao's threat. Progress later stalls until Spirit Chalice Radiance offers fresh support. The brewed essence ordinarily yields several times the cultivation benefit, while its synergy with Valley Wind Leading Fire approaches a much larger gain. This improvement supports further practice; it does not establish a new formal realm or the completed mastery of every movement and resonance art. (Chapters 1392, 1432, 1673)
Imperial Divergence Light
Zhouwei redeems the Imperial Divergence Light inheritance and works through its first stage before giving Ximing a golden slip with completed annotations. Ximing has waited for that assistance and has not already begun mastering it when the copy arrives. The exchange makes their different strengths useful to one another: Zhouwei's prior work reduces the burden of approaching a difficult technique, while Ximing can then cultivate an attack that addresses a weakness in his existing repertoire. (Chapters 1539–1541, 1553)
The art concentrates divine power at the brow and projects numerous light and shadow streams, emphasizing speed, sharpness, and relentless movement. Those qualities differ from Hidden Light's slow accumulation and concentrated impact. Ximing later practices it alongside his movement technique and chooses to use Spirit Chalice Radiance for direct cultivation support. Ximing actively studies and develops the art; complete mastery remains unconfirmed. Its place among his learned arts should therefore remain separate from the achieved milestones of his two Purple Mansion divine abilities. (Chapters 1553, 1660, 1673)
Great Radiant White Light
The Great Radiant White Light inheritance, earlier called Great Li White Radiance, uses profound apertures to gather spiritual energy and release radiance. Its initial arrangement has eight intake apertures and one output. Ximing can pursue it once he possesses a suitable Radiant Fire, and experiments with the positions and the flames that occupy them. He has four crimson lights by the time he receives Imperial Divergence Light, and forms six Great Radiant Crimson Lights during the Wanlin expedition. These are actual gains in the technique, rather than a second or third Purple Mansion divine ability. (Chapters 1480, 1483–1484, 1553, 1566)
Its deeper pathway is much more demanding. The complete arrangement would contain five Radiant Fires and four True Fires, including a required Folding-Burn or Everlasting Radiant Fire of Departure that Ximing has not obtained. The flames' own responses also matter to their placement. Although he later reaches barely golden radiance, he expects further improvement to be difficult. Neither the prospect of collecting nine lights nor his possession of three valuable flames establishes the full higher pathway as completed. (Chapters 1483–1484, 1566, 1660)
Radiance Under Heaven
Tinglan supplies the direction for Ximing's second divine ability through their agreement over the Dust of Court and Bright-Clarity Vital Qi. He builds the Fate Immortal Foundation, fails to elevate it on the first attempt, and rebuilds with the aid of Empty Sleeve Profound Dao Powder. Attuned Purple Intent Essence finally compensates for insufficient Dao conduct after years of renewed seclusion. The resulting ability is Radiance Under Heaven; Sovereign In Peril remains a different Bright Yang option that he had earlier considered. (Chapters 1415–1416, 1485, 1537, 1607, 1683, 1722)
Radiance Under Heaven elevates his inherent qualities rather than requiring a gate-like manifestation to be summoned and withdrawn. He perceives spiritual qi and cultivation as luminous strands above people's heads. Through the Light of the Six Directions he can issue decrees, impose confinement, dispel calamity, and seek answers through divination. The reach of these effects involves Dao conduct, Inherent Rank, and relationships of authority. His immediate perception covers those within his spiritual sense, but the ability's essential sphere is not accurately described as a single fixed circle around his body. (Chapter 1722)
Its authority governs elevation and demotion. Favored followers can receive heavenly light within their qihai that reinforces righteous thoughts and illuminates their origins; those subjected to its punitive side can lose accumulated cultivation. A sweep of its light can also overwhelm the divine soul and make his commands appear inviolable. These effects connect political hierarchy to cultivation itself. They do not establish that all affected people become willing or morally justified followers, and they make his choice of targets and treatment of allies unusually consequential. (Chapters 1721–1722)
The mind-controlling aspect can be difficult to detect because it lacks the obvious activation traces of many other divine abilities. Si Yuanli expects that a Fate ability of his own would let him identify it more readily. Prolonged influence can erase a victim's recoverable sense of self, leaving thoughts unrestored even after the power fades. Ximing's new ability also resonates with the Gate's troops and improves his alchemical work, but remains newly attained. Those interactions do not prove a perfected second ability, a third divine ability, or Golden Core attainment. (Chapters 1722–1723, 1726)
The Sleeve Estate art
Zhouwei obtains the Art of Perfecting the Sleeve Estate from the Cui Family through an exchange and passes it to Ximing. Its proposed cultivation would ingest ancient qi and establish a space within the sleeve, with the storage of treasures and, at sufficient depth, living beings among its possibilities. The physical manuscript provides a spatial art the family's existing inheritances have not supplied. Ximing evaluates its value while considering how future conditions might reduce the burden of practicing it. (Chapters 1672, 1683, 1725)
The rise of an aura associated with True Essence and Purple Essence makes him think its cultivation cost could fall. That is a favorable circumstance and a reason to prepare, rather than a demonstration of an already completed personal estate. His discussion also concerns the family's lack of arts for great-void traversal and the establishment of secret realms, leaving considerable work still to do. The Sleeve Estate belongs among his available inheritances and prospective skills; it cannot yet be used to credit him with feats of spatial storage or a created secret realm. (Chapter 1725)
Power progression

| Qi Cultivation | By 437 | Cultivates Golden Palace true essence after seclusion; by Chapter 453 he is preparing for the third layer. His exact Nascent Spirit and initial Qi attainment dates are unknown. An earlier Qi designation conflicts with his later Jade Capital advancement. |
| Qi Cultivation — third heavenly layer | By 470 | The third layer is already attained; the earlier preparation for a breakthrough does not establish its success. |
| Qi Cultivation — fifth heavenly layer | 472 | A mirror blessing raises him to the fifth layer; the date of his fourth-layer attainment is unknown. |
| Valley Wind Leading Fire talisman art | 472 | Talisman qi grants enduring access to fire-guided qi and true-essence refinement. |
| Qi Cultivation — sixth heavenly layer | By 488 | Yuanjiao judges him at the sixth layer and approaching the seventh; he was still at the fifth in Chapter 481. |
| Qi Cultivation — seventh heavenly layer | 515 | Breaks through and stabilizes the seventh layer after an earlier period of waiting. |
| Qi Cultivation — eighth heavenly layer | 520 | Xijun recognizes that he has reached the eighth layer; a ninth-layer pill is only proposed. |
| Qi Cultivation — ninth heavenly layer | By 522 | Reaches the ninth layer during two years of cultivation with pill support. |
| Early Foundation Establishment — Radiant Origin Pass | 545 | Extraordinary Metallic Essence support accelerates formation. His emergence in Chapter 547 confirms attainment about half a month earlier. |
| Mid Foundation Establishment | 669 | A medicinal pill enables a breakthrough, followed by stabilization and emergence. |
| Conversion to Radiant Essence Scripture | By 684 | Converts his mana through a fifth-grade scripture received in Chapters 655–656. His original fourth-grade foundation persists in a modified, less orthodox form. |
| Late Foundation Establishment | By 728 | Qinghong already regards him as late Foundation in Chapter 728; he returns in Chapter 730. The exact breakthrough date is unknown. |
| Purple Mansion — first divine ability | 1015 | Bright Yang divine ability manifests after Ignorance and illusions are broken. He emerges publicly in Chapter 1017; the ability is later identified as Heaven-Venerating Gate. An outsider’s report of his death is mistaken. |
| Bright Yang Purple dharma body | 1015, 1017 | Reconstructs his body and Juque purple flame; Shenyang connects with the great void. Restoration is limited within other people’s vital mansions. |
| Grave curse-fire injury and constrained power | 1144–1152 | Changxiao’s ambush leaves inner and outer curse flames and injuries to Shenyang. He escapes but requires suppression and healing; his cultivation rank does not regress. |
| Curse fire sealed; bodily mobility restored | 1195 | True Profound Quintessence-Gathering Pill seals the inner and outer spell fire into Juque. The visible blaze vanishes and mobility returns, but the wounds remain. |
| Grave ambush injuries largely healed | By 1225 | His injuries are about ninety percent healed; he chooses to leave the sea’s end. Remaining burns are minor, though recovery has delayed cultivation. |
| Heaven-Venerating Gate perfected | 1383 | Fully refines the first divine ability to Shenyang and its utmost state, increasing its strength and opening capacity for a second ability. |
| Dharma body retrieved with residual Baleful Qi | 1443 | Retrieves his damaged dharma body after the Helian Wujiang battle; residual Baleful Qi remains. His cultivation rank does not regress. |
| Second-path Embryonic Breathing — all six cycles completed | By 1485 | Completes all six Embryonic cycles of his second path while traveling and preparing Bright-Clarity Vital Qi. This parallel cultivation does not reduce his existing Purple Mansion rank. |
| Radiance Under Heaven Immortal Foundation formed | 1537 | Forms the second-path foundation inside his qihai. Further nourishment is needed; its round appearance does not establish a Fate divine ability. |
| Failed Radiance Under Heaven elevation; foundation rebuilt | 1607 | After five years of nourishment, the attempt fails and he must rebuild the foundation. A portion of qi is lost, but the mirror grotto continues providing talisman qi. He retains one divine ability. |
| Radiance Under Heaven foundation ready for renewed attempt | By 1683 | Zhouwei observes the rebuilt foundation complete and supplies compensating essence. It is ready for another attempt, but the second divine ability has not yet been attained. |
| Purple Mansion — second divine ability, Radiance Under Heaven | 1722 | After prolonged seclusion, he attains his second divine ability and Fate power. Attuned Purple Intent Essence compensates for weak Dao conduct; Radiance Under Heaven is distinct from Zhouwei’s Sovereign In Peril. |
Relationships
- Madam An: His wife. Their children are few, and their eldest son lacks spiritual orifices. Xijun identifies her when Liu Changdie’s expectations about Ximing’s household prove incorrect. (Chapter 661)
- Li Yuanping: Ximing's father delights in his early promise but expects the composure and discipline of a future clan leader. The succession scandal estranges them. Ximing's Foundation breakthrough occurs while Yuanping is dying, leaving his achievement inseparable from the grief of an unreconciled relationship. (Chapters 359, 432–435, 547)
- Xiao Yuansi: His master supplies the first formula, practical training, and later the costly Radiant Violet Pill. Yuansi's personal commitment to Ximing remains distinguishable from Xiao Chuting's broader calculations about Zhouwei and the region. Ximing's gratitude rests on repeated teaching and aid rather than merely the prestige of the apprenticeship. (Chapters 352, 411–414, 954–955)
- Li Xijun: His cousin is both a close companion and an uncompromising critic. Xijun forces the succession confession into the open, later supports him tactically, and receives his Essence Gathering Pill before Foundation seclusion. Xijun's apparent death in bringing the Radiant Sky Stone deeply affects Ximing and his attitude toward Tianwan. (Chapters 432, 530, 762–764, 935–936, 1558)
- Li Xuanxuan: His grandfather takes pleasure in his first alchemical achievements and later reassures him when the loss of extraordinary elders makes him doubt his adequacy. Xuanxuan supports the resource decisions around his Purple ascent and remains a partner in passing useful inheritances to the family's younger cultivators. (Chapters 359, 629, 935–936, 1626)
- Meng Zhuoyun: Their intimate and dual-cultivation relationship benefits Ximing, but she explicitly condemns his lack of sincerity and treatment of her as an object. His violent response and immediate return to assigning pill work expose the coercive and instrumental aspects of the relationship. Her protest prevents their association from being understood simply as mutually beneficial cultivation. (Chapter 515)
- Li Zhouwei: Ximing's grandnephew provides the family's principal imperial prospect. They share inheritances, equipment, and resources according to usefulness, and Ximing commits himself to supporting Zhouwei's gamble. Zhouwei reciprocates by prioritizing Attuned Purple Intent Essence for his elder's second divine ability, recognizing that the family's future also depends on Ximing's strength. (Chapters 1512, 1553, 1594–1597, 1660, 1683)
- Tinglan: Repeated commissions establish trust through results. She supplies specialized fire, furnaces, and the direction for his Fate cultivation; he provides difficult medicines and later aids her recovery. Their willingness to share sensitive knowledge distinguishes the relationship from alliances based only on immediate advantage. (Chapters 1277–1281, 1415–1416, 1724–1725)
- Changxi: Their alliance gives Ximing protection, refining knowledge, and the voluntarily transferred Tiger artifact. Changxi's concealed plans around the Kong Family and Fu En subsequently complicate Ximing's understanding of that help. He retains respect for an ally whose arrangements protected him even while using him within a larger scheme. (Chapters 1085, 1279–1280)
- Xia Shouyu: Ximing initially coerces her into helping him at the sea's end. Her resource-gathering and rare Dry Fire inheritance make her valuable, and she later participates in the administration associated with his work there. Her exposure to demons and the circumstances of their first agreement qualify any simple description of her as a freely chosen follower. (Chapters 1193, 1208, 1217)
- Tianwan: Their strategic cooperation does not erase his resentment about the Radiant Sky Stone and Xijun's apparent death. He challenges her directly when the family's position allows it and works with Zhouwei to protect their share of opportunities. Their dealings remain negotiations among participants whose power, needs, and interests differ. (Chapters 935–936, 1558–1559)
- Diyan: At Mount Qusi, Diyan provides a personal avenue of contact through a bronze resonance stone. Ximing supports their emerging cooperation while acknowledging the wider institution's interests. The token enables further dealings; it does not establish a permanent unity of purpose between the Li Family and everyone within Qusi. (Chapters 1783–1784)
Items
Family relics and cultivation support
- Immortal Mirror and Profound Pearl Talisman Seeds: Ximing receives the family's mirror blessing and Valley Wind Leading Fire, while the seeds help him through Ignorance during Purple ascent. His advancement also nourishes the Mirror World in return. He is a beneficiary of the hidden family relic and its linked system, rather than its independent owner. (Chapters 349, 472, 1031)
- Talisman Pill: Family pills support his cultivation at several stages. At Purple Mansion he consumes one and finds that its modest spiritual energy opens a barrier that ordinary high-grade pills barely disturb, allowing his divine ability to circulate more freely. He then takes a Qilin Radiance Illumination Pill to supply the mana for that progress. (Chapters 431, 1379)
- Radiant Sky Stone and Radiant Violet Pill: The stone reaches him through Xijun's apparent death and the family's decision to prioritize an immediate Purple Mansion guardian. Yuansi completes the pill at personal cost. They are major supports for his ascent, not a substitute for the secret techniques and cultivation needed to survive it. (Chapters 935–936, 954–955, 1012–1013)
- Qingche Sword: The ancestral weapon passes through the family's custodians. Zhouwei returns it to Ximing along with other family resources. This establishes custody of a shared relic, rather than a personal sword inheritance or demonstrated sword mastery for Ximing. (Chapter 1360)
- Huai River Map: The map aids his Heavenly Lantern and Jewel Steps studies before Purple ascent. Later, seeing it with Si Yuanli makes him eager to secure further access. Its ownership remains with the Si Family; Ximing's study and negotiations do not make it his personal treasure. (Chapters 954, 1010, 1559)
- Azure Manifestation: Yuan Tuan gives him the protective jade bead, whose manifestations include an eagle, dog, tiger, and deer. After Foundation Establishment makes its peak-Qi protection less useful to him, Ximing sends it through Yuexiang to Xijun. The transfer turns an outgrown personal defense into continued family support. (Chapters 365, 431, 559)
- Golden Yang Radiant Origin, Profound Yang Li Fire, and the Yang Nourishing Technique manual: Yuanjiao supplies these resources for his Golden Palace path. The manual comes from Tu Longjian's inheritance, while the captured fire becomes material for Ximing's internal flame cultivation. A handled portion of qi or fire remains distinct from the general lineage bearing the same name. (Chapters 431, 472, 481, 515)
- Sun Seeker Ring: The family acquires the ring from Xu Xiao; its Green Pine Temple inscription makes open use politically dangerous. Its resonance releases Metallic Essence that enters the mirror and assists Ximing's Foundation breakthrough. Ximing benefits from that intervention, while the ring itself remains a guarded family object rather than a routinely wielded personal artifact. (Chapters 544–547, 1012, 1081)
- Essence Gathering Pill, Profound Tempering Pills, and Yuwa Stone Liquid: Ximing gives his held Essence Gathering dose to Xijun before seclusion. Qinghong's overseas gains later supply him with three Profound Tempering Pills and stone liquid for Foundation cultivation. Their association shows the circulation of medicines within the family rather than permanent ownership of every dose. (Chapters 530, 583)
- Bright-Clarity Vital Qi, Bright Truth Harmonizing Divine Pill, and Attuned Purple Intent Essence: These resources enter his later advancement plans through agreements and exchanges. The first Fate attempt consumes part of his Vital Qi; Si Yuanli provides a route to the Bright Truth medicine; Zhouwei gives the compensating essence obtained in exchange for the Crane-Embracing Stone. The essence contributes to his eventual second divine ability. (Chapters 1485, 1607, 1642, 1683, 1722)
Artifacts and shared equipment
- Mountain-Charging Sea-Pacing Tiger: After Ximing initially refuses it, Changxi withdraws his imprint and voluntarily transfers the artifact. Its Stable Earth defenses and earth-escape capabilities become particularly valuable during the ambush and recovery. Changxi's provenance explains the association without undoing that direct transfer. (Chapters 1037, 1085–1086, 1146–1152)
- Profound Patterned Bottle: The family vessel reaches Ximing through Qinghong's arrangements and Xizhi's urgent delivery. Bright Yang refinement develops its radiant and fire-related use. He lends it to Zhouwei, receives it back, and later supplies stored resources for Imperial Divergence work. It is shared equipment with a custody history, rather than proof that every later profound bottle is the same object. (Chapters 830, 911, 1360–1362, 1551)
- Brilliant Yang King's Axe: Tian Sanglin presents the Eastern Fire Grotto artifact to Ximing, who refines and uses it. Its Crimson Severing Cluster and the restriction against casual lending matter to how the family employs it. Zhouwei later wields it as well, so its history cannot be reduced to permanent exclusive use by either man. (Chapters 1375–1378, 1432, 1694)
- Ruler of Manifested Mountains and Rivers: Ximing works with Chu Minglian to refine the spirit embryo into a ruler with mountain-and-river phenomena and suppressive functions. It provides more subtle control alongside his larger Gate. Continued divine-ability nourishment is necessary to preserve its developed state, making it an ongoing cultivation responsibility rather than a self-sustaining acquisition. (Chapters 1384, 1393, 1434)
- Surging Yang Star Command Treasure Disk: Kuiqi lends him the artifact without transferring ownership. Ximing pays more mana for its functions than its owner would, and Kuiqi retains the ability to recall it through the great void. Its assistance in the northern battle is therefore temporary access to another cultivator's resource, with finite uses and explicit ownership constraints. (Chapters 1378, 1432–1434)
- Supplementary Court Verdant Profound Cauldron and Two Bright Rites of Layered Fire: Zhouwei's Wanlin gains supply these valuable tools. Ximing refuses a proposed trade for the Gathering Wood cauldron and later uses it to absorb hostile light. The Layered Fire treasure suits his Radiant Flame and is subsequently made available to aid Jiangqian. Both belong to the family's allocation of rare equipment. (Chapters 1596, 1599, 1621, 1727–1728)
- Yuan'e and Qilin Crow Spirit Husk: Yuan'e is Zhouwei's armor, whose material and later reforging history involve the clan's commissions and resources. The Qilin Crow Spirit Husk contributes to its developed escape and self-repair properties. Ximing's association concerns the supporting resources and arrangements, rather than wearing the armor himself. (Chapters 1613, 1703–1704, 1714)
- Demon-Suppressing Gut-Cleaving Mace and Mountain-Supervising Spirit-Pointing Talisman: Ximing refines the mace and lets Zhouwei examine it; its strongest fit lies with Profound Thunder cultivation. The talisman comes from Hongxue's cache and is later used in the completed exchange for the Sleeve Estate manuscript. Their histories distinguish an examined artifact from a treasure actually transferred out. (Chapters 1592–1593, 1612–1613, 1672)
- Cuoxiang, Glazed Radiance Kasaya, and Long Light Star-Concealing Flags: Cuoxiang is associated with fire storage and earth-vein infrastructure rather than a signature attack. The kasaya becomes the subject of a proposed exchange, without that proposal establishing a completed transfer. The flags support later arrangements at the lake. These possessions and resources serve different administrative, diplomatic, and defensive roles. (Chapters 896–897, 1420–1422, 1611, 1644)
- Upper Rite formation plate: The captured core from Changxiao Gate becomes the subject of plans for repair and trade with Liu Changdie. Its inclusion in the family's spoils establishes an acquired resource, but does not demonstrate that Ximing personally installs or completes a new formation from it. (Chapter 1660)
Furnaces, flames, and alchemical materials
- Furnace In The River: His black tripod is a long-serving, personally cherished furnace. It eventually cracks and explodes while completing the Supreme Yin medicine. Ximing retires and keeps it for sentimental value; it no longer supplies the service of a functioning furnace. (Chapters 438, 1276–1278)
- Treasure-Elephant Furnace and Profound Owl Crossing Scene Furnace: Tinglan lends the former while taking the borrowed Owl furnace with her, then provides access to the higher-grade furnace for the later work. Ximing uses the equipment for demanding commissions. Their usefulness in his hands does not establish permanent transfer of their ownership. (Chapters 1277–1281, 1494–1508)
- Profound Fire of the Three Phases' Guard, Red Pheasant Surging Radiant Flame, and Heavenly Crow Merging Fire: The first comes through his exchange of Little Peacock Karma, the second through Huoyang's gratitude, and the third through Zhouwei's spoils. He binds and controls them for distinct alchemical and combat purposes. Tinglan's Boundless Water-Fire is a separate borrowed flame used for her commissions. (Chapters 1240–1243, 1277, 1479, 1594, 1621–1622)
- Hidden Refinement Qi Pill and Moon Orchid: Ximing extracts and suppresses the stored qi, then combines it with the Purple-grade orchid under Heaven's Will Single-Intent Method. Their consumption produces the great Supreme Yin medicine that breaks his old furnace. They are ingredients used in a completed refinement, rather than continuing unused possessions. (Chapters 1243, 1278)
- Cangzhou Serpent Scale and Three-Branched Qiuxin Leaf: The scale is supplied for the Serpent Water Suspension Powder commission. The damaged Qiuxin leaf comes from Changxiao's spoils and is later refined into six pills, including two sent to Purple Smoke Gate. These acquisitions reach their consequential state through use in medicine-making. (Chapters 1455, 1660, 1726)
- Flying Profound Chaos Stone, Painted Water Sunflower Stone, Rising Warmth Stone, and Crane-Embracing Stone: Ximing selects the first from Hongxue's cache and acquires the second through a transaction with Daoist Master Luo. The Rising Warmth Stone is placed with Si Yuanli through an exchange arrangement, while Zhouwei trades the Crane-Embracing Stone for the essence Ximing needs. Acquisition, lending, and completed exchange give these materials different later dispositions. (Chapters 1592, 1599, 1642, 1683)
- Horn Wood Golden Tassel, Seven Abandonment Lotus Seed, and Golden-patterned Profound Incense: The tassel arrives as a boxed gift. The lotus seed supplies protective karmic treasure light around the Nine Mounds affair. Ximing examines the eight incense sticks brought back through Zhouwei's expedition; discussion of their possible ritual value does not demonstrate that he has already burned them for a completed rite. (Chapters 1055, 1237, 1240, 1595, 1642)
- Layered Radiance Bright Rite Qi and Profound Pass Crimson Fire Qi: The boxed Bright Rite portions accompany the Refulgent Firelight inheritance. The Crimson Fire portion supports a proposed Body Guarding Tiger Pass direction, but its acquisition does not prove Sovereign In Peril attainment. Ximing's eventual second divine ability follows the Fate path instead. (Chapters 1383, 1595, 1722)
Manuscripts and medicines
- Snake Essence Pill formula and Burning Flame Pill Manual: Yuansi gives the formula during Ximing's early training. Purple Smoke Gate later presents the physical manual, which he accepts. Their importance lies in access to usable recipes and inherited knowledge, distinct from a claim that each book is itself a cultivated power. (Chapters 352, 1038, 1043)
- Heaven's Will Single-Intent Method, Subduing Fire, Expelling Cold Art, and Qilin Radiant Yang Scripture: The first two reach him through Xia Shouyu's sea's-end work, while Zhouwei later hands him the Qilin scripture authored by Cui'e. Ximing uses the Single-Intent inheritance and investigates the Qilin medicine methods. The Dry Fire art's value also supports retaining Xia Shouyu and her rare lineage, rather than proving that Ximing cultivates her path himself. (Chapters 1208, 1512–1513)
- Divine Technique of Pavilion View: Refining Within Fire and Scripture of the Body Guarding Tiger Pass: Changxi supplies a detailed refining inheritance, and Cui Xianye supplies the Tiger Pass scripture and related slips. Ximing reads them and shares access with Zhouwei. They expand the family's available methods, while the proposed body ability remains distinct from his demonstrated Fate attainment. (Chapters 1077, 1080–1083, 1278, 1383)
- Heavenly Radiance, Hidden Light; Great Radiant White Light; and Imperial Divergence Light: Ximing studies physical copies supporting his learned radiant techniques. The White Light name replaces Great Li White Radiance, and Zhouwei's Imperial Divergence annotations reach him before he begins that work. Manuscript access and successive cultivation results remain separately identifiable in their histories. (Chapters 1029, 1483, 1553)
- Scripture of Refulgent Firelight and Profound Iteration Calculation Scripture: Zhouwei's spoils provide the former and its supporting qi for wider family cultivation. Ximing brings Liu Changdie's life-work calculation manuscript home for Suining through Xuanxuan. These inheritances extend his contribution beyond the arts he personally masters. (Chapters 1595–1597, 1626, 1644)
- Stellar Enclosure Grand Repository Divine Scroll and Heavenly Directorate Sequence Arrangement Divine Scroll: Ximing presents actual lineage options while the family plans Suining's future; Zhouwei subsequently redeems the Directorate inheritance. World-Watching Awakening Star Art is discussed as a copy already hidden in the clan. The discussion establishes access and appraisal without making that book one of the three slips physically laid out in the scene. (Chapters 1626–1627)
- Imperial Book of Radiance-Slaying for Myriad Chariots: The family chooses this inheritance when allocating immortal merits. The Dharma Scripture of the Crimson Vanguard General and Imperial Scripture of Brilliant Mountains and Magnificent Tides are also listed and considered. Consideration of those alternatives does not establish their acquisition or personal cultivation by Ximing. (Chapters 1660–1661)
- Art of Perfecting the Sleeve Estate: The Cui exchange produces a physical manuscript, which Zhouwei passes to him. Ximing later considers how favorable spiritual conditions could lower the cultivation cost. The inherited book is established; a completed personal Sleeve Estate is still prospective. (Chapters 1672, 1683, 1725)
- Three Aspects Breaking Realm Pill, True Profound Quintessence-Gathering Pill, and Empty Sleeve Profound Dao Powder: Ximing makes the first in different grades for family advancement. The second seals his curse-fire without instantly curing the underlying wounds. The powder, produced in batches for Si Yuanli, also helps Ximing rebuild his failed Fate foundation. Each medicine supplies a specific practical function rather than a universal improvement to cultivation. (Chapters 583, 624, 1195, 1607)
- Heavenly Quintessence-Expelling Pill, Serpent Water Suspension Powder, Aspiration Ascension Profound Pill, and Feather-Embracing Heart-Joining Pill: These major commissions establish his value to patrons with specialized needs. Tinglan receives four Quintessence-Expelling pills for her martial uncle; Huoyang's bloodline medicine produces eight pills and earns him her flame. His later gift of a Feather-Embracing pill to Jiangqian shows a distinct subsequent use of that formulation. (Chapters 1305, 1455, 1475, 1479, 1508, 1727)
- Qilin Radiance Illumination Pill and Southern Palace Profound Stabilizing Pill: Ximing uses Qilin medicine to supply the mana for his Gate's progress after taking the Talisman Pill. A Southern Palace dose is transferred to Luo in the material transaction that also promises further alchemical work. Consumption and transfer should not be mistaken for continuing personal stock. (Chapters 1379, 1599)
- Spirit Chalice Radiance: He chooses to brew this essence for direct support to radiant techniques rather than make another vessel. Three flasks take more than half a month to prepare and scarcely diminish the material, giving him room for further cultivation use. Its value depends on the fit between the essence, his learned arts, and Valley Wind Leading Fire. (Chapters 1660, 1673–1674)
- Bronze resonance stone: Diyan gives him a palm-sized, paper-thin bronze stone bearing runes. It resonates with Diyan and provides a means of sending later instructions through the Mount Qusi relationship. Its demonstrated purpose is contact, rather than a combat or cultivation effect. (Chapter 1784)
