Yuan'e

Yuan'e is Zhouwei's armor, initially commissioned by Xuanfeng from material captured after shooting down Murong Wu. Its first completed form was supple white-gold armor. Dingyang later reforged it at great cost into black-gold spirit armor, adding powerful functions for deception, protection, and escape. (Chapters 956, 1516–1517, and 1703–1704)

History

Xuanfeng's commission delivered to Zhouwei

Xuanfeng obtained the Desert Profound Armor material after defeating Murong Wu and had Azure Pond's high-level smiths work it under True Flame on Mount Bianyan. Qinghong initially described it as captured treasure armor; a later assessment specified that the original material came from a helmet component. It supplied the Desert Profound Sky Iron core rather than proving that Yuan'e was an unchanged captured suit. (Chapters 956 and 1517)

After eighty-one days of refinement, Ning Heyuan delivered the completed treasure to Xuanfeng, who quietly sent it home for storage. Qinghong eventually opened its large jade box and gave it to Zhouwei. He immediately called it onto his body despite not yet refining it, explaining that Bright Yang treasures naturally favored him. The commission became an exceptional family gift fitted to his unusual compatibility. (Chapter 956)

Protection with a specific exception

Zhouwei used Yuan'e alongside Da Sheng. Its ability to distribute spell force across its scales protected him against varied opponents, while its heavenly-light movement complemented his own rapid travel. This remained a Foundation Establishment treasure, however, and its construction did not make it equally effective against every Dao. (Chapters 1093 and 1258)

Ximing later brought it to Dingyang as a model for a greater armor commission. Dingyang examined its scales and discussed the need for Purple Mansion materials. The conversation distinguished a possible custom dharma artifact and later spirit-embryo refinement from a true spirit artifact, and Ximing explicitly treated it as a long-term plan. Inspection and the search for ingredients did not complete that improvement. (Chapters 1516–1517)

A concealed reforging revealed in battle

The completed transformation was revealed much later. Dingyang had reforged Yuan'e into spirit armor after a great expenditure of materials and time, and Zhouwei had kept its new capabilities hidden for the northern-bank battle. Its black-gold form released fiery radiance while he used Black Soul Mara Dharma Body, and its Pivot Illumination mystic accompanied the illusions that disrupted Daisi's spell. (Chapter 1703)

When Gongsun Bei's axe then struck Zhouwei, Primal Shedding covered him in Yang Apex light, weakened the incoming divine ability, and let him slip out of the Radiant Light Separate Rite Treasure Platform's lock. Gongsun countered that light, and the armor did not prevent severe injury. After the battle its qilin patterns had faded and its surface bore silver cuts. (Chapters 1704 and 1707)

Zhouwei later judged repair straightforward because its Qilin Crow Spirit Husk material could heal and restore itself. Returning it to Zhijing Mountain's baleful spring would support that recovery. The husk also endowed escape properties, though the enemy platform's suppression had prevented their free use during the fight. (Chapter 1714)

Abilities and properties

The original scaled armor

The first Yuan'e used Desert Profound Sky Iron and Radiant Origin Stone as its core, with Wolfscale Bone and Crimson White Feather scales. Its supple white-gold plates overlapped in a soft suit rather than forming heavy rigid armor. Six thousand two hundred scales distributed incoming spell force, enhancing mana and protection against spell arts except those based on Radiant Essence. It also supplied a light-transformation traversal method. (Chapters 956, 1093, and 1258)

Zhouwei's ability to put it on before ordinary refinement reflects his affinity for Bright Yang objects. It is not a general exemption allowing any cultivator to use an unrefined artifact. (Chapter 956)

Spirit-armor mystics and recovery

The reforged black-gold armor has Pivot Illumination and Primal Shedding. The first is demonstrated amid illusions of a desolate battlefield and the descent of Imperial Divergence Light against Daisi's lotus. The second emits Yang Apex light to reduce hostile divine-ability force and break a targeting lock, but Gongsun Bei could dissolve that light with his own response. The accompanying Black Soul Mara Dharma Body and Zhouwei's other abilities should not all be attributed to the armor. (Chapters 1703–1704)

Qilin Crow Spirit Husk grants escape and self-restoration properties. Strong suppression can prevent the escape effects, and the armor can still sustain visible damage under repeated attacks. Its ability to recover in the baleful spring therefore complements its defenses rather than proving immunity to harm. (Chapters 1707 and 1714)
