Immortal Mirror
The Immortal Mirror is the artifact in which Lu Jiangxian awakens and the hidden foundation of the Li Family's cultivation. It gathers Supreme Yin moonlight, connects cultivators through talisman seeds, and contains an interior world. The family's custody of the mirror is distinct from ownership of its conscious agent: Lu has his own knowledge, choices, and plans.
History
From the river to a farming household
Lu awakens within a palm-sized bluish-gray mirror at the bottom of the Meiche River. Its surface is fractured within a dark frame, with engraved symbols on the back. Initially he cannot move or speak, and his awareness extends only a short distance. Xiangping retrieves it while fishing and takes it to his family's household, where Mutian and the brothers gradually recognize its unusual nature. Protecting the object gives Lu a chance to recover, while the family's curiosity gives them access to knowledge unavailable through their ordinary farming life. (Chapters 1–5)
An absorbed jade restores knowledge and expands the mirror's perception. Lu communicates cultivation and reception methods through writing on its surface, and creates Profound Pearl Talisman Seeds for the family. Those links permit cultivation even without a natural spiritual orifice and return feedback as recipients advance. The relationship therefore grows into reciprocal dependence: the clan safeguards and nourishes its hidden benefactor, whose gifts make the clan's rise possible. (Chapters 6–12)
Recovered components and the concealed benefactor
Restoration proceeds through different kinds of recovery. A white jade pendant releases stored talisman qi and restores the capacity to condense Talisman Pills, while a pearl-encased mirror fragment actually joins the broken body and opens further interior structure. Chejing's returning seed accompanies the expansion to nine seeds and stronger moonlight. Tongya later preserves the family's worship and concealment, while his own cultivation and eventual death provide further feedback. The mirror's growth remains entangled with the lives it supports rather than following an ordinary human realm ladder. (Chapters 75–77, 111, 129–130, and 348)
The recovery of the Mirror Jade Buckle from Yu Muxian restores a different mechanism. Xuanfeng presents it, it dissolves into the mirror, and Lu regains travel through the great void along with expanded seed capacity and stronger Profound Light. This movement reduces his dependence on someone physically carrying him, but increases the importance of avoiding scrutiny by True Monarchs. The family's protection and his own concealment remain necessary after he becomes capable of acting across much wider distances. (Chapters 613 and 616–619)
Interior realms and borrowed future calculations
Ximing's Purple Mansion breakthrough nourishes the mirror's inner world. Lu uses moonlight forms and a fabricated celestial administration to organize knowledge, manage genuine residents, and conceal the artifact's nature from visitors. He later builds a separate Hunyi realm rather than expose the original world directly. That realm must be sustained with his own mana and moonlight, since its isolation prevents spiritual energy from flowing in automatically. (Chapters 1031–1032 and 1319–1320)
The Registering Name Stone returns another part of the mirror's body, enabling true-spirit inscription and controlled admission or summons. Lu also establishes a remote connection to the Great Expansion Heavenly Plain Scripture, using it to calculate conditional futures before severing that borrowed connection. His conclusions and protective arrangements persist, but the external scripture does not become a component he owns or an unlimited permanent source of foresight. (Chapters 1401–1405, 1567–1568, and 1604–1605)
Abilities and properties
Moonlight, talisman links, and restoration
Supreme Yin moonlight supplies energy for cultivation assistance and, after sufficient feedback, Supreme Yin Profound Light. Early use has a recovery interval and offering requirements; restored components and stronger connected cultivators increase usable force. Comparisons with Foundation or Purple Mansion describe the light's strength, not proof that Lu possesses a human foundation of that realm. Even later power is judged insufficient to kill a Golden Core True Monarch reliably. (Chapters 39, 54–55, 130, 619, and 1031)
The mirror creates a finite number of seeds and converts suitable sacrifices into talisman qi. These connections support cultivation, calm the mind, provide benefits selected by Lu, and return power or spiritual information. Pills offer a separate expendable form with one-use-per-major-realm limits. Powerful assistance does not make the recipients independent of the hidden system supporting them. (Chapters 8–12, 61, 149–150, and 933)
Perception, movement, and hidden worlds
Divine sense grows from approximately one meter around the submerged body to extensive observation after successive restorations. Perception alone does not permit arbitrary physical manipulation: remote action may require a specific art, projected power, or the revelation of a form. Great-void traversal restored by the buckle lets the mirror move without a bearer and descend through seed connections. Those abilities still operate under the danger of observation by greater powers. (Chapters 1, 7, 619, 765, and 845)
The interior world supports moonlight forms, structures, illusions, and genuine spiritual residents. The Registering Name Stone adds irreversible true-spirit registration, with seed relays required for distant connections. Lu's control of illusions and bound spirits should not be confused with proof that every visitor is an illusion or that every resident freely consents to the relationship. (Chapters 129–130, 1032, and 1404)
