Helian Wujiang

Biography

The Helian advance south

Wujiang comes south under the National Preceptor’s order to guard Timber Mountain. His arrival signals that the Helian Family can now send its own strength beyond the north; he fights Li Ximing without hesitation, relying on his whip and Baleful Essence techniques rather than revealing every weapon at once. When Yehui joins the battle, Wujiang recognizes the danger and escapes by dispersing into Baleful Qi, sacrificing trapped remnants of his power to break away. (Chapters 1425–1427, 1432–1434)

Guarding the family’s position

Wujiang later counsels his nephew Helian Wumeng not to let the family become a tool for another power: after the Helian lineage nearly collapsed, he is unwilling to risk its hard-won recovery. During a later struggle over spirit treasures, Wujiang keeps fighting Li Zhouwei even as other cultivators contest the spoils. Zhouwei’s halberd pierces him and shatters his qi sea, leaving him unable to recover quickly under the grotto heaven’s suppression. Wujiang survives and is later seen waiting among the northern forces. (Chapters 1506, 1526, 1561, 1580–1581, 1707)

Appearance and personality

Wujiang is long-armed and narrow-waisted, with a handsome face and black-and-silver armor. When he reveals his demonic technique, his chest opens around a black-and-white eye. He remains composed in negotiation and battle, but acts decisively when the Helian Family’s interests are at stake. (Chapters 1425–1427, 1433)

Abilities and cultivation

Wujiang is a mid-stage Purple Mansion Realm cultivator of the Baleful Essence lineage. His Body Divine Ability gathers and disperses his form through layers of Baleful Qi, making ordinary attacks ineffective and helping him recover from wounds. Rakshasa Sea fills the area with baleful force, while Non-Empty Tribulation raises peaks of black qi that can hinder a descending divine ability. The eye in his chest emits intermittent golden light that can freeze a target in place, though Zhouwei’s later defenses render it ineffective. (Chapters 1426–1427, 1432–1434, 1581)

His combat equipment includes a spirit-artifact whip that can bind a weapon, a black short blade, and a dharma sword. He can wield them in combination with his Baleful Qi, but concentrated Bright Yang attacks and Yehui’s suppression break through his defenses. (Chapters 1426, 1434, 1580–1581)
