Mountain-Charging Sea-Pacing Tiger

The Mountain-Charging Sea-Pacing Tiger is a round pearl engraved with a tiger looking back. Changxi offered it to secure the Li Family's support for Profound Peak Gate, and later transferred it to Ximing as his own lifespan neared its end. Its Stable Earth powers provide protection, earth traversal, and a concealed tiger form for passage through the great void. (Chapters 1035–1037 and 1085)

History

A gift initially declined

Changxi presented the tiger soon after Ximing's elevation, explaining that it was a mid-grade Gen Earth, or Stable Earth, artifact obtained from outside rather than formed solely from his own divine ability. Offering such a valuable treasure openly placed a substantial debt of favor on Ximing and sought future backing for the troubled Profound Peak Gate. (Chapter 1035)

Ximing initially declined. He promised aid without requiring the artifact as inducement and urged Changxi to retain it in case it could purchase help from a stronger force. He would accept it only if Changxi's approaching end left no better option, when strengthening Ximing could in turn protect their shared position. The initial offer was therefore not a completed transfer. (Chapter 1037)

Voluntary transfer for their common defense

Changxi returned when his divine abilities were leaking and his lifespan was nearly exhausted. He invited Ximing to accompany him to Sumian, then offered the tiger again. This time Ximing accepted. Changxi withdrew his divine-ability mana and relinquished control, allowing Ximing's Bright Yang ability to enter the artifact immediately. Without that consent, refinement would have taken a very long time. (Chapter 1085)

Changxi and Sumian considered the treasure more useful to Ximing despite its closer affinity with their own Earth Virtue cultivation. Many of its functions overlapped with theirs, while its protection strengthened the ally whose Heaven-Venerating Gate would bear much of the burden in a direct clash. The gift thus served a concrete defensive purpose rather than merely rewarding friendship. (Chapter 1085)

Travel and a message through the great void

Ximing continued to rely on the tiger for movement. When he needed to communicate near the lake during a gathering of powerful cultivators, he transformed it into Stable Tiger form and sent it to carry his message. He later listed it among his travel resources while considering the growing number of spirit artifacts in his possession. Those later associations do not undo the explicit voluntary transfer from Changxi. (Chapters 1562 and 1597)

Abilities and properties

Mountain-Charging Profound Veil

The artifact releases a Mountain-Charging Profound Veil to cover its wielder and provides a Stable Earth spirit infusion. This reduces damage from divine abilities except those of the Twelve Essences and Fire Virtue. The exceptions matter: it is a valuable defense, not universal resistance to every Purple Mansion power. (Chapter 1085)

Sea-Pacing Profound Escape and Stable Tiger

Sea-Pacing Profound Escape allows the user to sink into the ground and travel through earth veins with extraordinary speed. Stable Tiger instead transforms the artifact into a concealed tiger roaming the great void. This form has no combat ability; its value is movement and concealment, allowing most Purple Mansion divine abilities to pass over it while it slips farther into the void. A formation capable of trapping it remains a counter. (Chapter 1085)

The tiger can carry messages as well as aid travel. Its manifested animal form is a transformation of the spirit artifact, distinct from a living spirit beast taken as property. (Chapter 1562)

Earth Virtue maintenance

The pearl has a sharply carved tiger image, a chilling Earth Fiend quality, and luminous threads of radiance. It can serve as a Stable Earth focus for allied spellcasting, providing relevant energy in place of Changxi's physical presence. Changxi also explains that blood qi or resentment qi can maintain it more effectively than ordinary divine-ability nourishment and may lead to changes over long periods. No specific later transformation through that method is demonstrated. (Chapters 1035 and 1085)
