Li Qinghong

Li Qinghong is a gifted spear cultivator who refuses to make marriage the purpose of her life. She chooses the costly Purple Thunder Secret Origin Technique, builds a thunder reservoir, and becomes one of the Li family’s most important fighters. After a later transformation into a Purple Mansion thunder body, she remains powerful but politically constrained: Dragon Clan obligations keep her at the Thunder Pool and limit how openly she can protect her relatives. (Chapters 166, 234, 490, 723, 1263–1265, 1550)

Biography

A seeded child chooses the spear and a difficult Dao

Li Qinghong draws attention as a child when the mirror’s ritual reveals exceptional affinity: the nine-cun white glow measures her response to the seed, not her cultivation stage. The Li family sends her to learn spear practice from the Fei family. During that visit, she uses the cover identity Ye Qinghong, presented as a rogue cultivator’s daughter; it is not a separate person. Her skill and beauty lead Fei Tongxiao to imagine a marriage, but Qinghong firmly tells Tongya that she wants neither love nor life as someone’s wife or concubine. She wants to cultivate, slay demons and protect the land herself. (Chapters 166, 218, 232–234)

Her determination does not remove the costs of the method available to her. She chooses the Purple Thunder Secret Origin Technique and accepts its difficulty and bodily consequences. The Vast Sky Fierce Sparrow blessing helps her reach the peak of Embryonic Breathing, and she enters Qi cultivation while refining a style built around spear and thunder. The speed of her ascent makes her formidable, but it also ties her route to rare Profound Yin Thunder Liquid, dangerous vitality costs and a narrow set of suitable opportunities. (Chapters 289, 297–299)

Family deaths turn martial ambition into responsibility

Qinghong’s early confidence becomes personal when the deaths of her father and other family elders leave younger relatives exposed. She continues cultivating and accepts Duruo, a Foundation Establishment spear that Tongya has kept for her. It takes time before he considers her cultivation strong enough to bear its cost. She masters it and gives the weapon its name. (Chapters 218, 370–371)

In battle, she combines the spear with thunder techniques. She studies an appended art in the Purple Thunder tradition and names it Purple Talisman Origin Light. With Duruo, this lets her attack at range, redirect lightning and press opponents without surrendering close combat. Her revenge is not a cure for grief: the clan can punish some enemies, but no victory restores the relatives who died. After reaching the ninth Qi layer, she establishes a Profound Thunderpool Foundation, transforming her sea of qi into a reservoir of purple and silver thunder. (Chapters 398, 422–423, 452, 490)

Building the Thunder Pool and discovering its costs

Qinghong helps create a thunder altar so she can draw on heavenly lightning and further cultivate the Thunderpool. Its installation takes extensive resources, and an early attempt to resonate with the thunder leaves her mana spent without producing the hoped-for effect. A proper result depends on preparation and the right natural conditions, not an unlimited ability to summon lightning. (Chapters 500, 549)

The Eastern Sea supplies conditions more suited to her. At mid-Foundation, Qinghong cultivates amid the Falling Water Rising Storm, where frequent lightning accelerates her progress; by Chapter 723 she has reached late Foundation and can store three Profound Thunders. She also adopts Cloud-Thunder Inquiry, a reconstructed method transmitted through the Three Drums Wall. It changes her internal pathways while preserving her Foundation, and avoids the inherited method’s infertility effect, but does not greatly reduce its drain on vitality. Her account of how the changed heavens affect this cost remains her own explanation, not a proven universal rule. (Chapters 584, 618, 632, 698, 723, 741)

Bereavement, ocean cultivation and the next generation

The sea is both a training ground and a distance from the family that Qinghong guards. She progresses quickly in its thunder-rich weather, but remains alert to the state of her relatives and the risk of leaving them without experienced protectors. The reservoir still has a limit: at mid-Foundation it contains two stored Profound Thunders, with a third only briefly available at added mana cost; at late Foundation she can hold three. Those stocks do not make her ordinary thunder techniques free. (Chapters 635, 641, 698, 741)

After Yuanjiao dies, she becomes one of the family’s senior martial anchors. Xuanfeng tells her that, if he is gone, she is the strongest fighter left in the family and must preserve herself for its sake. His death and the loss of other elders deepen her grief, even as she keeps gathering equipment and preparing for battles. When she later carries the Profound Patterned Bottle for a northern campaign, she passes it onward through Xizhi to Ximing rather than keeping it as her property. (Chapters 613, 618, 830, 884, 889)

The northern war and Xuanfeng’s last counsel

The northern fighting tests how much of Qinghong’s strength she can safely spend. She uses her spear, thunder reservoir and demon blessing in battles where stronger sect cultivators can break through even well-prepared defenses. The Cyan Sparrow Plume, refashioned from a robe she takes in battle, helps her movement resonate with thunder; it does not make her invulnerable. She also receives a set of six thunder tokens from Xuanfeng, which she has to study before she can use them well. (Chapters 751–752, 788, 803, 811, 830)

Xuanfeng’s warning stays with her after his death: strength that leaves the family without a protector is not worth spending recklessly. As the remaining cultivators divide responsibilities, Qinghong joins Ximing in a campaign for the Radiant Sky Stone and handles a possible exchange with Xi Zikang carefully. She studies his offered techniques before unlocking anything valuable of her own. This is caution born of years defending a family with less power than its reputation suggests. (Chapters 884–889, 914, 941)

Resources for Ximing and a cautious alliance with Xi Zikang

Qinghong’s judgment is not limited to her own kin. At sea, she breaks the siege of the Han family and escorts its members to safety without demanding that they join the Li clan. Han Shihai is surprised by the help, having expected power to come with a claim on the people it protects. Qinghong’s courtesy does not erase the danger of his remaining near the contested territory, but she leaves him the choice rather than treating his family as a resource. (Chapters 973, 978–979)

She carries the Yuan’e armor to Zhouwei, but it belongs to him, not to her. Before she leaves to pursue the next stage of her own Dao, she transfers care of equipment and family responsibilities to the younger generation. Her departure is not a break with the clan; it is another effort to preserve its future while continuing her own cultivation. (Chapters 941, 956, 978–979)

A thunder body and a constrained reunion

After Qinghong disappears from ordinary family life, a purple thunder woman rescues Ximing from Changxiao at Lie Sea. Her identity is not immediately clear to the family. In Chapter 1263, Qinghong identifies herself as the woman who intervened; she explains that she had to keep the action and her new identity from becoming widely known, because drawing the Dragon Clan’s attention to the Li family could endanger them. (Chapters 1150–1151, 1263–1265)

Later family accounts confirm that Qinghong survived the Thunder Dao Grotto Heaven’s trials, overcame its rivals and became a Purple Mansion thunder-body spirit cultivator. The full ascent is recalled retrospectively, so its individual contests and exact breakthrough date remain unclear. Her seed bond with the mirror persists after the transformation. The Dragon Clan’s arrangements provide protection and authority, but also keep her stationed at the Thunder Pool; she cannot move about freely or explain everything to her relatives. (Chapters 1291, 1360)

Qinghong remains alive and active in the Thunder Pool. She discusses the Thunder Dao with Dongfang Heyun and serves tea within the palace, a quiet scene far removed from the spear battles that once defined her life. Her power has grown beyond what she once imagined, but the new form has narrowed the ways she can use it for her family. (Chapter 1550)

Appearance and personality

Qinghong is introduced with the confidence and martial bearing of a young spear cultivator. She later wears a robe refashioned as the Cyan Sparrow Plume, and repeatedly meets enemies with calm control even when outnumbered. Her decisive manner can look severe, but it coexists with a sustained concern for vulnerable relatives and strangers. She mourns the family elders she loses without surrendering the responsibility they left her. (Chapters 234, 751–752, 884, 978)

Her refusal of marriage is part of a broader ambition, not a rejection of family affection. She wants the freedom to cultivate, fight and protect people in her own right. At the same time, she learns that following this path demands painful sacrifices and leaves her vulnerable to political restrictions even after she attains extraordinary power. (Chapters 234, 723, 1265)

Abilities and cultivation

Qinghong’s Purple Thunder Secret Origin Technique supplies the foundation for her thunder cultivation. Its advanced method requires rare Profound Yin Thunder Liquid and carries infertility and vitality costs. Her appended Purple Talisman Origin Light Secret Technique takes time and mana to prepare; it combines with her finite Thunderpool stores rather than creating limitless lightning. (Chapters 234, 422–423, 698)

Her Profound Thunderpool Foundation holds stored Profound Thunder, which she releases through the secret art. Mid-Foundation cultivation allows two stored thunders, with a temporary third requiring extra mana; late Foundation increases the reservoir to three. This reserve is separate from the Thunder Pool domain where she later resides. That domain contains forty-eight bolts associated with its environment and defenses, not forty-eight charges she can use in any ordinary fight. (Chapters 635, 741, 1268)

Cloud-Thunder Inquiry restructures her cultivation after she receives the transmitted legacy. It keeps her Foundation and thunder techniques while changing their internal pathways; the change avoids infertility but does not remove the vitality drain. Her sea cultivation accelerates in thunderous weather, and her thunder altar provides a prepared means to seek resonance with lightning, though an early trial fails and the altar remains dependent on suitable conditions. (Chapters 549, 618, 632, 698)

Her spear mastery, Duruo and Cyan Sparrow Plume support movement and offense, while the Vast Sky Fierce Sparrow blessing adds physical strength and responsiveness. The Sixfold Profound Thunder Punishment Tokens are powerful aids she initially has to study; their thunder lineage is not perfectly matched to her Foundation, causing small mana inefficiencies. After her transformation, she displays Prime Magnetism and commands the Thunder Pool’s defenses, but her numbered Purple Mansion divine-ability stage is not known. (Chapters 289, 370, 811, 830, 1151, 1265–1268)
