Tianwan
Tianwan is the formidable Daoist Master of Crimson Reef Island whose old feud with the Li family becomes a contest over the Hongxue Dao lineage. Her bargains and experiments test whether favors can restrain powerful cultivators, while her ambitions demand that she keep a dangerous path open.
Biography
The token and Crimson Reef’s legacy
Tianwan asks Tu Longjian whether ordinary people are ever repaid for doing good, then proposes that they both refrain from using divine abilities while two former beneficiaries of the Li family approach Li Xijun. She has deliberately sent Guo Hongyao and coordinated pressure with Hengzhu Dao Gate, making Xijun and the Radiant Sky Stone part of a larger bid to obtain the Six Ding Merging Fire Token. (Chapter 926)
The test does not save Xijun from bodily death: he is beheaded three times while Tu refuses to intervene, and Tianwan’s token demand fails. Tu later says the Li family’s favor has been repaid, while Pu Yu reveals that he preserved Xijun’s soul, separating the apparent death from the soul’s survival. In Chapter 952, Tianwan says the token’s loss made her suspicious of Tanyun, who had watched Tu since his secret Purple Mansion breakthrough. She also rejects Tanyun’s claim that blood ties should make her protect their descendants. (Chapters 928 and 952–953)
The Hongxue bargain with the Li family
Decades later, Tianwan has found Li Quantao and spent years searching for the remains of Hongxue Gate. She wants its Dao lineage and proposes that she and the Li family avoid interfering with each other, offering to hand Li Quantao over and share a spirit material. Li Ximing and Li Zhouwei recognize that the site lies in their territory and that she cannot keep the inheritance hidden from stronger rivals. (Chapters 1557–1558)
With no strong backing after leaving the Golden Feather Sect and falling out with Changxiao, Tianwan cannot afford a wider conflict while she still seeks the True Monarch position. Ximing challenges her over the Radiant Sky Stone bargain, which cost his younger brother his life; Tianwan argues that the exchange benefited the Li family too, while Ximing blames her failed scheme. She ultimately agrees to divide the Hongxue lineage, with Ximing and Zhouwei arranging to conceal the disturbance and claim a share. Their working agreement leaves the old grievance intact. (Chapters 1558–1559)
When Xuanyi later presents the promised distribution, Tianwan takes and examines the silver-white jade slip she wanted, then departs satisfied. Xuanyi also mentions a Hansong Bottle, but the exchange does not establish that Tianwan keeps it. At Hongxue Gate, she reflects on the narrowing Cold Essence path; she still seeks the True Monarch position. (Chapter 1592)
Appearance and personality
Tianwan has bright eyes, a delicate nose, and refined features; cultivating Cold Essence has heightened her beauty and icy bearing. She speaks with controlled reserve, yet her bargains show that she will arrange pressure and accept sacrifices when she sees them as necessary. She says her divine ability lets her read people’s thoughts, which has reinforced her cynical view of family attachment. (Chapters 926, 953 and 1557–1558)
Abilities and cultivation
Cold Essence
Tianwan cultivates the Cold Essence Dao. By Chapter 1557, four streams of its divine ability have condensed around her, and the ability she formed after crossing the immortal threshold has reached perfection. This mastery makes her a Grand Daoist Master, though she is less skilled in direct combat than specialists such as Changxiao. She also suppresses the spiritual-energy leakage from the underground cavern where she waits, keeping its disturbance from being noticed. (Chapter 1557)
At Hongxue Gate, Tianwan reflects on the narrowing Cold Essence path. Though still passed down, it has long stood beneath the Supreme Yin and Lesser Yin paths; once, Lesser Yin had several branches devoted to advancing it, while Lesser Yin Intercalary Cold later became an Orthodox Dao in its own right. The higher reaches discourage her, though she still seeks the True Monarch position. (Chapters 1558 and 1592)
Heart-sight
Tianwan says one of her divine abilities lets her see directly into people’s hearts and thoughts. She uses that perception to describe envy and hatred among her descendants, then cites an old account of the Life Divine Ability making its master see evil throughout the world. The scope and limits of her heart-sight remain unclear. (Chapter 953)

- Guo Shentong: Her husband and the source of the pact whose secrets she suspects were carried by the Six Ding Merging Fire Token. (Chapter 952)
- Tu Longjian: The counterpart in her failed attempt to obtain the Six Ding Merging Fire Token; she blames his role in the scheme, while he refuses her demand. (Chapters 926–928 and 952–953)
- Li Ximing: A wary negotiating partner whose resentment over the Radiant Sky Stone resurfaces when they bargain over Hongxue Gate. (Chapters 1557–1559)
- Li Zhouwei: A strategic opponent who exposes her leverage and claims the Li family’s share of the inheritance. (Chapter 1558)

Items
Tianwan demanded the Six Ding Merging Fire Token from Tu Longjian but did not obtain it. At Hongxue Gate, she takes the silver-white jade slip she wanted; the Hansong Bottle is mentioned in the same distribution, but its final custodian is not made clear. (Chapters 926–928, 952 and 1592)
