Profound Patterned Bottle
The Profound Patterned Bottle is an ancient jade vessel that changes its effects with the user's mana and Immortal Foundation. Yuanjiao used it for mist and concealment, Qinghong for storing thunder, and Ximing for merging Radiant Light with flame. Its inscription connects it to Li Qianyuan of Wei, though its identity as the emperor's own original artifact remains uncertain. (Chapters 451–452, 615, 732, and 911)
History
A fleeing cultivator's surrendered treasure
Yuanjiao found a devil cultivator whose presence had escaped ordinary detection. The cultivator hurled away an intricately patterned jade bottle to distract him, but Yuanjiao captured it and continued the pursuit. A second bottle surrendered in the same encounter contained Profound Yang Li Fire; that container and its fire were distinct from the patterned dharma artifact. (Chapter 451)
On refining the first bottle, Yuanjiao discovered protective white mist and a spring-water effect when it was inverted. Its base bore the inscription Li Qianyuan from the Li Family of Wei State. He named it the Profound Patterned Bottle and used its versatility to conceal himself, scout for ambushes, and travel under cover. Its mist nevertheless struggled to hide a large captured serpent and failed to deceive a perceptive fox at a safe distance. (Chapters 452, 454, 456, and 459)
Inherited thunder and an uncertain imperial connection
Xuanfeng recovered the bottle after Yuanjiao's death, and Qinghong inherited it among his relics. Once she refined the masterless vessel, its cloud imagery gave way to thunder patterns and black lightning. In her hands it emitted and stored thunder rather than reproducing Yuanjiao's concealment. (Chapters 613, 615, 634, and 811)
Cui Changfu examined the inscription and identified Li Qianyuan as the ancestor-emperor of Wei. He cautioned that such a figure would not normally use a mere Foundation Establishment artifact: it could be an early-life tool or a later replica. Qinghong therefore learned its prestigious association without gaining certainty that she held the emperor's personal original treasure. (Chapter 732)
She later emptied seven kinds of stored thunder into separate bottles and offered the vessel to Xizhi. He briefly examined it, then pressed it into Ximing's hand so it could be used in the urgent journey north. Xizhi was an intermediary in that transfer rather than the bottle's retained wielder. (Chapter 830)
Refining Radiant Light and flame
Bright Yang refinement gave Ximing Radiant Light and Unified Qi. At an abandoned Meng fire vein, he drew pure Li Fire from mixed Fiend Fire with Valley Wind Leading Fire and fed it to the vessel. Unified Qi merged the flame with Radiant Light for storage and later release, providing a useful accumulation method his own cultivation otherwise lacked. (Chapter 911)
After reaching Purple Mansion, Ximing left it in Zhijing Mountain's Purple Flame Earth Fiend Spring for repeated tempering. He retrieved it periodically, purified its accumulated fire, and returned it to the spring. Its power continued to grow, but he observed no corresponding perfection of its subtle functions, and its Foundation Establishment nature still limited its use against opponents who could evade into the great void. (Chapters 1077, 1109, and 1133)
A family weapon and ritual resource
Zhouwei subsequently used the vessel and later returned it to Ximing. He judged its accumulated force sufficient to kill or cripple even a sect disciple if a Foundation Establishment user could land the attack, and suggested keeping it for the protection of Jiangqian and Quewan. That was a proposed allocation rather than a demonstrated completed gift to either junior. Its possible refinement into a spirit embryo also remained uncertain. (Chapters 1359–1362)
It continued to serve the family's advanced work. During Zhouwei's Imperial Divergence Light refinement, the bottle poured Bright Light mixed with baleful fire energy while lightning came from separate bronze boxes. Once the technique was complete, he sent the depleted bottle back to the spring for renewed accumulation. (Chapter 1551)
Abilities and properties
Adaptation to its user's foundation
The slender jade vessel bears delicate silver or dark-silver patterns and an ancient Wei inscription. Its appearance and effects shift with mana: white mist and water under Yuanjiao, violet thunder patterns under Qinghong, and white-gold Radiant Light under Ximing. Its adaptability is a property of the vessel, but its effects can overlap with the user's own foundation and are not always strong enough to fill every weakness. (Chapters 452, 615, 830, and 911)
Yuanjiao's mist concealed his figure, blocked spells, and supported wind control. Its area and effectiveness had limits, as shown by the difficulty of concealing a large serpent and the fox's early detection. Qinghong could instead collect and release different kinds of spirit thunder, but could not simply reproduce his former concealment. (Chapters 452, 456, 459, 811, and 830)
Unified Qi and repeated tempering
Ximing's Radiant Light could suppress evil, aid flight, and subdue fiendish fire. Unified Qi fused that light with flame, storing the combination for further refinement and a concentrated release in combat. Once fused, the light and flame could not be separated again. The bottle sought pure Li Fire, making Ximing's ability to extract it from mixed fire particularly valuable. (Chapter 911)
Long tempering in Zhijing's fire vein increased its force, with Valley Wind Leading Fire enabling repeated purification. This produced powerful stored energy without confirming a Purple Mansion spirit-embryo conversion. Its eventual release can deplete its current contents, after which the vessel returns to the spring to accumulate more. (Chapters 1109, 1133, 1359, and 1551)
