Randalph Brigsiel

Randalph Brigsiel is the demon Earl who receives a second life after losing the dungeon contest. Armed with memories of the failed timeline, he turns an underestimated Korean dungeon into the base of a faction spanning Awakened humans, demons, dark elves, angels, and spirits, then rejects the role assigned to him by the devil Death Bringer and becomes Demon King on his own terms.

Biography

A second chance in Seoul

Randalph grows up alone on the Demon World's battlefields and reaches the rank of Earl through survival and violence, but his first attempt to challenge the grand dukes ends in defeat. Death Bringer recruits him into a contest on Earth, promising the devil's seat to the winner. Randalph accepts, tries to solve the contest alone, and survives long enough to see Ariel win while his own body and dungeon are destroyed. When an intervention then unknown to him—later attributed to the 72 gods of Earth—sends him back to the beginning, he treats the new timeline as his last opportunity rather than a reprieve. (Chapters 1–4 and 227)

The restored Randalph immediately uses future knowledge to buy Skill Combination, construct Mind's Eye from overlooked skills, and secure early achievements. His planning is ruthless: he views humans as both prey and resources, enters the Awakened population under concealment, and engineers raids so that he can grow without revealing the dungeon's true master. Yet the first life also taught him the cost of isolation. He silently promises not to lose Yihi again and begins giving the fairy, his creatures, and later human agents room to act instead of treating every problem as his alone. (Chapters 2–20)

The Korean raid network brings him into sustained contact with Kim Yong-woo, Yoo Eun-hye, and the Devil Hunters. He manipulates their training and the dangers around his dungeon, but their growth also gives humanity a force capable of surviving later disasters. The unexpected Heart of the Hell Monarch transplants itself into him after an Easter Egg, adding power he cannot safely remove and introducing a second objective: discover why the system rewarded him with the legacy of an emperor it claims was destroyed. (Chapters 5–26)

Rival dukes, auctions, and the Tree of Origin

Randalph enters the Demon World Auction knowing that the dukes and grand dukes possess larger starting reserves. He compensates through information, bluffing, and careful investment. He recruits Krasla and Chrisley, recognizes that the high dark elf's intelligence is as valuable as her combat rank, and builds a command structure that can operate during his absences. His bids secure the Seven Sins weapon Wrath and other tools, while his deliberate provocations make Ariel, Upa, Pandemonium, and Okullos spend resources or reveal priorities. (Chapters 27–40 and 64–71)

He continues strengthening both sides of his position. Among humans he drives the Devil Hunters through harsher training and orchestrated conflict; inside the dungeon he relies on Chrisley and Krasla to organize dark elves, undead, and creatures. His approach remains transactional, but it is no longer purely disposable. He intervenes when subordinates can produce long-term value, rewards competence, and allows Yihi's garden and bee colony to survive his irritation because they make the dungeon a living territory instead of an empty fort. (Chapters 41–63)

At the second major auction Randalph acquires Astral Code and Sloth. Using the Spirit King's Recipe and a World Tree seed previously taken from Adol Luph's dungeon, he produces the germinated seed that becomes the Tree of Origin. He uses Astral Code to make Wrath's destructive state manageable and permits Yihi to cultivate the tree despite its uncertain nature. The resulting ecosystem raises his dungeon beyond a collection of purchased troops, but it also attracts angels and exposes the faction to enemies who can attack its spiritual foundations. Randalph's competitive advantage now depends on preserving a community that cannot simply be replaced with points. (Chapters 64–99)

The Hell Monarch's legacy and the Underground World

After a clash with Okullos, Maxium presents Randalph with the Emperor's Sword, a weapon entrusted to him by the Hell Monarch. Divine Sword Unity forces its ego to accept Randalph, and the sword stimulates the transplanted heart. Randalph does not mistake that response for proof that he is the emperor reborn; he uses the connection while investigating it, wary that an inherited identity could be another part of Death Bringer's system. (Chapters 98–113)

The same period turns Yihi's improvisation into the Infinity Armour and brings Randalph into direct conflict with Okullos's corruption and Contegonom. When the shadow power infects Gigantes and threatens his strongest defenders, Randalph combines Chrisley's command, Mago's sight, Tashmal's force, and his own growing skills rather than attempting a solitary solution. His victory awakens further parts of the heart, but the damage to the dungeon and to Chrisley makes clear that inherited power cannot substitute for a functioning faction. (Chapters 112–129)

Randalph enters the Underground World, where Maxium's loyalty and the Emperor's Sword grant access without erasing local resistance. Oswen, the Twilight Blacksmith who forged the Seven Sins, tests the claimant instead of accepting a title. Randalph wins authority through combat and decision, takes Pride, and returns when his Korean dungeon is near collapse. He defeats the invaders with the Hell Monarch's resources but refuses to become merely a vessel for the dead emperor's anger. The legacy becomes an arsenal and responsibility he defines, not a personality he passively inherits. (Chapters 130–151)

Spirits, saints, and the demon-king contest

The expanding contest forces Randalph into the Spirit World and new auctions controlled by Adonis. He bargains for spirits and essences, learns Power of Domination through the Hell Monarch legacy, and struggles to restore Yihi after her soul is badly damaged. Her condition changes his priorities more openly than before: points and ranks still matter, but he repeatedly chooses routes that preserve the fairy, the Tree of Origin, and the named spirits bound to his faction. (Chapters 152–174)

On Earth, the quickening period and the saintess crisis make the human factions impossible to treat as background pieces. Randalph intervenes in the sacred zone, works with Yoo Eun-hye and the developing coalition, and tests the boundaries between demonic, spiritual, and divine power. He remains willing to deceive allies and experiment on captured enemies, but his decisions increasingly serve a claimed realm rather than victory alone. The people under him are both his strength and the source of obligations he once rejected. (Chapters 175–198)

The arrival of otherworldly messengers introduces Gustarte, the Moon Arrow, and evidence that the system is a divine weapon rather than a neutral judge. Randalph captures and studies Gustarte, defeats rival claimants, and makes temporary alignments as the surviving grand dukes turn on one another. By the end of the Earth-side war he has become Demon King in power and recognition, but the title immediately draws him toward the occupied Demon World and the creator who designed the contest. (Chapters 199–228)

Death Bringer and a world of his own

Randalph returns from the Reverse World to find Camael cleansing demons and humans alike. He coordinates surviving forces, defeats the seraphim, and enters the Demon World with Ariel and the Underground World's craftsmen. Their alliance is practical but no longer shallow: Ariel contributes Diablo's origin-demon inheritance, Oswen builds counters to the Hell Monarch's contagious curse, and Chrisley maintains the armies while Randalph takes the risks only he can survive. (Chapters 229–237)

The apparent Hell Monarch is revealed as Death Bringer possessing the emperor's body. Randalph exploits the incomplete possession by asserting his own claim to the heart, sword, and army, then follows Gustarte's inference that much of Death Bringer's divinity is invested in the system. He enters the devastated Spirit World, secures Garrash's help, confronts Adonis, and damages the system at its source. The act strips Death Bringer of the invulnerability that made a direct fight impossible. (Chapters 238–240)

In the final battle, Randalph combines the Hell Monarch's anti-god preparations, Ariel and Gustarte's inherited powers, the Seven Sins, and his own developed skills. When Death Bringer severs him from the system, Yihi reveals herself as a living Dungeon Core and restores a fragment of access, then suffers a fatal wound for intervening. Randalph kills Death Bringer and takes the Demon World's throne, but his real resolution comes later: he finds Yihi reborn as a fairy seed, orders his castle moved to protect her pond, and chooses to wait for her return. (Chapters 241–242)

Appearance and personality

The corpus gives no stable everyday portrait of Randalph beyond a physically formidable demon body and the restoration of limbs lost in the first timeline. During deeper awakening he develops two horns, enormous wings, darkened skin or fur, long nails, and glowing wound-like tattoos; the Infinity Armour alters itself to accommodate those changes. He also uses armor, a skull mask, and changed stature to conceal himself from human acquaintances. (Chapters 1, 128, and 148)

Randalph begins proud, calculating, and shaped by a childhood in which weakness meant death. He readily manipulates enemies and allies and usually evaluates a choice through advantage, risk, and future yield. His second life does not make him gentle, but it makes him capable of trust. Protecting Yihi, delegating to Chrisley, rewarding Krasla and Maxium, and accepting temporary equality with Ariel gradually turn his hunger for supremacy into responsibility for a realm and its people. (Chapters 1–4, 64–76, 141–151, 229–242)

Abilities and powers

Randalph's strength combines a demon's natural growth with the system's statistics, achievements, ranked skills and items, dungeon authority, the Hell Monarch's legacy, spirit contracts, and finally stolen divine power. His most effective victories come from combining systems whose limits cover one another rather than relying on a single absolute technique.

System growth and dungeon authority

As a Dungeon Master, Randalph spends points on creatures, facilities, and skills while achievements grant titles, stores, and exceptional rewards. The Dungeon Core anchors that authority and links him to Yihi. Losing the core destroyed his first campaign, while preserving it lets the second-life dungeon grow into a territory that can support creatures and influence Earth. The system is not neutral: Death Bringer created it, can invest divinity in it, and suffers when Randalph forces it into error. (Chapters 1–8, 45–47, 77–99, and 238–241)

His statistics have explicit potential limits and can be raised by titles, item effects, training, and exceptional rewards. These increases matter tactically, but rank alone never removes costs: Wrath can reduce intelligence, spirit contracts can injure the soul, and divine opponents can suppress system perception. Randalph therefore treats statistics as one resource among planning, information, allies, and artifacts. (Chapters 2–4, 33–37, 72–76, 183–190, and 228–241)

Mind's Eye and God's Eyes

Randalph creates Mind's Eye by combining ordinary perception and composure skills. It reveals status windows, hidden potential, item descriptions, and enemy information, giving him an enormous advantage in auctions and recruitment. Its output is constrained by relative power and concealment: information may be incomplete, question-marked, or blocked, and seeing an effect does not automatically explain its mechanism. (Chapters 2–4, 27–37, 64–76, and 124–129)

Later development raises the perception toward God's Eyes, which can read divine or system-linked targets that Mind's Eye could not approach. Even then, Death Bringer's status remains mostly unreadable and Gustarte's body contains veiled information. Randalph uses partial results as evidence, not certainty—for example, the possession line in Death Bringer's window becomes the basis of a psychological attack on the Hell Monarch's remaining spirit. (Chapters 190–198, 226–228, and 238–241)

Combination, lightning, and sword arts

Skill Combination lets Randalph fuse compatible lower-ranked skills, initially producing Mind's Eye and later developing into Combine Everything. The wider version allows more complex interaction among learned powers, but compatibility, rank, and the danger of unstable results remain real constraints. Randalph's knowledge of the first timeline improves his choices; it does not guarantee that an unexplained combination will work. (Chapters 2–4, 27–37, 72–76, and 183–190)

Lightning God Technique evolves into a manifested Lightning Elemental and later contributes to his highest-speed and highest-impact attacks. The lightning can be released independently, layered over weapons, or combined with Pride's unquenchable flames. Strong enemies, divine overlap, and enormous magic costs limit those combinations, so he often prepares a target through control, deception, or another item before committing the full attack. (Chapters 33–40, 48–56, 124–129, 142–150, and 237–241)

Dark Sword and Divine Sword Unity govern his weapon handling. Divine Sword Unity subdues the ego in the Emperor's Sword and makes unfamiliar swords respond as if practiced, while Dark Sword coats attacks in consuming power. He combines these with Moonlight Falling and later Chaotic Blade. The skills do not make every weapon equal: the original Emperor's Sword resists destruction and carries imperial functions that a copied sword cannot reproduce. (Chapters 90–100, 127–150, 197–198, 222, and 236–241)

The Seven Sins

Wrath, Sloth, and Pride are parts of Oswen's Seven Sins set that become both equipment and skill effects for Randalph. Wrath produces a destructive physical surge but originally causes severe intelligence loss and lingering destructive desire; Astral Code lowers the intelligence requirement enough for him to use it without surrendering control. Sloth increases agility through an opposing sin effect, while collecting the set raises both statistics and access to the Hell Monarch's anti-god design. (Chapters 27–37, 64–76, 90–93, and 228–241)

Pride manifests through gloves and black flames that continue burning until a target dies. Randalph combines those flames with Lightning God and sword aura for attacks beyond the ordinary Epic scale. The fire is not universally decisive: intelligence and mastery affect it, comparable powers can overlap, and divine or transcendent enemies can endure long enough to counterattack. Oswen's completed set ultimately yields the limited Power of Destruction needed to remove a godly defense. (Chapters 137–150, 190, 222, and 237–241)

Heart, domination, and divinity

The Heart of the Hell Monarch forcefully transplants itself into Randalph, raises his weak attributes, awakens in stages, and connects him to the Underground World, the Emperor's Sword, and Power of Domination. That passive authority can suppress or command beings, protect forces from hostile control, and claim the Hell Monarch's legacy. It is never proof that Randalph and the dead emperor are one identity; Maxium's belief, the system's titles, and the later possession conflict all show competing interpretations. (Chapters 5–8, 33–37, 72–76, 100, 130–142, and 228–241)

Corruption and spirit contracts add further power at the cost of internal danger. Randalph contains corrupting forces, contracts spirits, and uses True Words to impose commands whose effectiveness depends on the target's rank and protection. Chaotic Blade concentrates overlapping power into a cutting attack, while Ariel and Gustarte's inherited divinity later lets him contest Death Bringer after the system is damaged. He can defeat a weakened god only by preparing the conditions; Death Bringer at full divinity remains beyond him. (Chapters 124–129, 165–198, 228–241)
