Pride

Pride is a pair of epic gloves from the Seven Sins set. Randalph Brigsiel takes them after defeating their cursed wearer in the Underground World, then develops their black fire into one of his most adaptable and destructive powers.

History

Gloves released from a curse

Pride first appears on an enemy commander in the Underground World. When that commander's curse ends, the gloves fall free, and Randalph recognizes the item instinctively after putting it on. The acquisition gives him a fourth Seven Sins component alongside Wrath, Sloth, and the Greed function then carried through Infinity Armour. Unlike the earlier skills that primarily alter statistics, Pride produces flames he can project, shape, and layer onto other techniques. (Chapters 137–142)

Fire refined through greater power

Randalph first uses Pride as clinging black fire, then expands it into airborne projectiles, walls, an enormous compressed sphere, and wings formed after another item absorbs its flames. As his magic power rises, the fire becomes stronger than its first demonstrated state and can melt terrain across dozens of metres. He continues combining it with lightning and sword arts through the wars on Earth and in the Demon World, retaining the gloves and their stamina effect at the end of the contest. (Chapters 142–241)

Abilities and properties

• Black hellfire: Pride creates black flames that, at sufficient intelligence, persist on a struck enemy until that opponent dies. Later increases in Randalph's magic power make the fire broader and more destructive, but he explicitly notes that it does not literally burn forever. (Chapters 142 and 230)
• Shaping and projection: The wearer can launch fireballs, produce walls, spread flames across an area, or compress them into a sphere larger than an armoured vehicle. This makes Pride useful for direct attack, containment, destroying remains, and controlling an opponent's movement. (Chapters 148–152, 222, and 230–233)
• Stamina effect: The gloves contribute seven stamina as an item effect even when their fire is not active. (Chapters 190 and 228–241)
• Elemental interaction: Randalph can feed Lightning God into the flames or layer Pride over Wrath and The Emperor's Sword with Dark Sword. The resulting attacks depend on his own magic and skills; Pride supplies compatible fire rather than every component of the combination. (Chapters 151, 230–237, and 241)
• Spirit affinity: The pure fire magic of Pride, especially together with the Great Fire Essence, helps sustain the birth of fire spirits. The process still causes dehydration and requires Randalph to supply enough power. (Chapter 169)
