Tree of Origin

The Tree of Origin is a unique living tree created when two World Tree seeds take root together in Randalph's Korean dungeon. It becomes the spiritual home of the dark elves, Yihi's soul companion, a source of healing and rare materials, and a force that raises the entire dungeon's potential.

History

Two seeds become one origin

Randalph recovers one World Tree seed from Adol Luph's dungeon and uses a secret combination recipe to germinate another, then chooses the riskier course of planting both together. Chrisley repeatedly refines opposed solar and lunar power into a stable crystal for the dormant seed. The experiment succeeds beyond an ordinary World Tree: the joined growth is recognized as the first rooted Tree of Origin, giving the dark elves a new home worth defending with their lives. Yihi's soul companion

The tree's uncontrolled growth later consumes dungeon capacity and weakens Yihi, who is trying to support both systems without a stable relationship to it. A nature-sensitive intermediary helps the tree recognize her as its soul companion, promoting Yihi into an Origin Fairy and restoring balance. Their bond lets her communicate with and shape the tree, but years of sustaining both tree and dungeon deplete her soul. When spirits repair Yihi, the tree awakens with her and gains a stronger influence on the entire dungeon. (Chapters 104–106 and 169–175)

Living center of the dungeon

The Tree of Origin survives invasions, produces materials for potions and weapons, creates an annual essence, and yields an Origin Seed capable of germinating a derived World Tree. Its roots also help create Infinity Armour and later form temporary Origin Giants under Yihi's control. Randalph uses meditation and battles against a version of himself near the tree to refine his techniques, while the dungeon's creatures and spirits grow unusually well under its influence. It remains active after the final war. (Chapters 107–227)

Abilities and properties

• Dungeon influence: The tree raises the dungeon's grade, supports high magic-power consumption, strengthens its creatures and spirits, and after awakening exerts an even greater influence. These benefits are substantial but do not automatically dominate outside enemies. (Chapters 169–175)
• Healing leaves: Its leaves can be ground into high-class potions with exceptional recovery, including treatment of otherwise fatal injuries. Long-term consumption can also improve statistics, while potion strength still depends on preparation. (Chapters 101, 108, 122, and 184)
• Essence of Origin: Once per year the tree creates an essence containing a year's magic power. Consuming it raises the maximum potential limit by one, making the output extremely rare even by divine standards. (Chapter 106)
• Roots and crafting: Dwarf-made weapons from its roots reach unique grade and extreme sharpness. A root fused with Infinite Flesh becomes the living Infinity Armour, though the initial unpurified result runs wild and must be dismantled before safe use. (Chapters 111–125)
• Origin Fairy bond: Recognition of Yihi as soul companion lets her regulate roots, draw materials, and later form Origin Giants. The constructs require the tree's roots and rapidly exhaust her, while loss of the tree would reverse her Origin Fairy promotion. (Chapters 104–106 and 170–175)
• Seeds and descendants: The tree can yield an Origin Seed that does not reproduce another Tree of Origin; under the right conditions it germinates a World Tree instead. Trees of Life and Death are also described as derivatives, so the origin tree is a progenitor rather than one interchangeable specimen. (Chapters 152 and 176)
• Meditative reflection: Near the tree, Randalph repeatedly confronts an internal copy and learns to observe and refine his techniques. The corpus presents this as enlightenment through the tree's environment, not a freely transferable combat spell. (Chapters 188–196 and 222–227)
