The Emperor's Sword

The Emperor's Sword is the indestructible ego weapon favored by the Shadow Emperor. Maxium entrusts it to Randalph Brigsiel, for whom it becomes a dual-wielded weapon, a stimulus to the Heart of the Hell Monarch, and the key to an imperial treasure vault.

History

Maxium's pledge and the dormant inheritance

Maxium presents the sword after Randalph completes Dubolong's request and reveals that the Shadow Emperor left it behind. The weapon responds to Randalph's connection with the Hell Monarch's heart, raising his intelligence simply while he holds it and indicating that the two relics form parts of the same inheritance. Its imperial authority also gives him access to the Emperor's Army, a vast reserve of phantom cavalry whose rarity makes their deployment a strategic decision rather than an ordinary battle technique. Key to the Underground World

Randalph brings the sword into the Underground World, where Maxium and the imperial soldiers recognize it as evidence that their missing monarch's authority has returned. After the war against the six commanders, Maxium and Oswen place their hands on the sealed mountain entrance while Randalph inserts the sword into its keyhole. Opening the treasury restores the system around Randalph and confirms that the weapon is not merely symbolic: it operates the protection and inheritance structure left by the Hell Monarch. Partner to Wrath

Outside its imperial functions, the sword becomes Randalph's regular off-hand weapon beside Wrath. His pursuit of Moonlight Falling is partly driven by the need for a dual-sword technique, and later battles show both blades carrying Dark Sword, lightning, magic power, and Pride's flames. Shadow hunters can copy its appearance but not its indestructibility, exposing the difference between an ego relic and an imitation. The original remains with Randalph through the final Demon World campaign. (Chapters 116–142 and 150–241)

Abilities and properties

• Indestructible ego sword: The epic weapon is formed from wrought iron, martanium, and powerful spells to create an ego. Its established property prevents destruction and significantly raises its wielder's dignity; the corpus does not describe a conversational personality or autonomous agenda for that ego. (Chapter 100)
• Emperor's Army: Once every ten years, the sword can summon more than one hundred thousand ghost cavalry stored in an underground warehouse. The cavalry attack the user's enemies for up to ninety days before returning, making the long cooldown the ability's decisive limitation. (Chapter 100)
• Heart resonance: Merely holding the sword stimulates the Heart of the Hell Monarch and grants Randalph two points of pure intelligence. The two relics' connection signals his developing relationship to the Hell Monarch's power, but the sword alone does not complete that awakening. (Chapters 100, 108, and 113)
• Imperial key: Inserted into the Underground World's mountain gate while Maxium and Oswen activate the entrance, the sword opens the Shadow Emperor's treasure warehouse and restores its protection system. This function requires the associated place and attendants shown in the corpus rather than working as a universal key. (Chapters 139–140)
• Power conduit: The blade accepts Randalph's Moonlight Falling, Dark Sword, lightning, and Pride flames in combination with Wrath. These layered attacks derive from the wielder's skills; the sword supplies an indestructible channel rather than independently producing those effects. (Chapters 124–142 and 185–241)
