About the novel

Yun Che's first life on Azure Cloud Continent ends when he leaps from Cloud's End Cliff with the Sky Poison Pearl rather than surrender it to his pursuers. He awakens in the body of Xiao Che, a young man on Profound Sky Continent whose damaged profound veins have left him unable to cultivate. The pearl survives the transition with him, and the blood of the Heretic God gives him a new foundation, turning a seemingly local struggle for dignity and survival into a search for the origins and limits of powers that should no longer exist.

His path moves outward through clans, sects, tournaments, empires, hidden realms, and worlds separated by profound-space travel. Family obligations and intimate bonds repeatedly pull against the demands of rulers and inheritances, while Yun Che's unusual ability to carry otherwise incompatible powers makes him both a protector and a target. Conflicts that begin around Blue Pole Star eventually expose the political order of the God Realm, the isolation of the Northern Divine Region, and the threat posed by powers beyond Primal Chaos.

The story is structured around reinvention as much as ascent. Yun Che changes names, affiliations, and public identities as circumstances demand, but each transformation is tested by the promises he has made and the people he refuses to abandon. Medicine, poison, artifacts, bloodlines, elemental inheritances, and political strategy therefore matter alongside formal cultivation.

World and cultivation

The early setting is divided among continents and nations whose strongest institutions are clans and cultivation sects. Blue Wind, Divine Phoenix, and the Illusory Demon Realm each organize power differently: imperial authority overlaps with sect prestige, guardian families, divine-beast inheritances, and contested bloodlines. Above these lower worlds lies the God Realm, a much larger order of star realms and king realms. Its God Emperors control ancient divine inheritances and shape regional law, while the Northern Divine Region's dependence on darkness profound energy places its inhabitants outside the legitimacy claimed by the eastern, western, and southern regions. The Abyss introduces another hierarchy built around Kingdoms of God, God Bearers, the Pure Land, and survival amid abyssal dust.

Profound cultivation advances through ordered mortal realms—from Elementary through Sovereign—and then through the divine way, from Divine Origin through Divine Master. Within each realm, numbered levels measure further refinement. Crossing a major threshold requires more than accumulated energy: the quality of a cultivator's profound veins, the environment, compatible resources, bodily endurance, comprehension, and access to inheritances can all determine whether progress is possible. Divine Extinction and Divine Limit stand beyond the ordinary Divine Master summit within the later Abyssal order.

Formal level alone does not settle every contest. Bloodlines and origin powers can reshape the body or provide elemental authority; special physiques can change comprehension and inheritance capacity; artifacts may purify, conceal, transport, or lend temporary power; and forbidden techniques can exchange lifespan or bodily integrity for short bursts of strength. Yun Che's Heretic God Profound Veins are especially unusual because their gates multiply output and their elemental seeds permit several normally conflicting attributes to coexist. That versatility creates options unavailable to conventional cultivators, but the strongest gates and borrowed states impose severe limits, and several of his advances require reconstruction rather than simple accumulation.
