The World-Defying Heaven Manual is the modern name for the Ancestral Divine Art, a three-part text left by the Ancestral God. Its script records the Law of Nothingness rather than a conventional profound formula, making the words unreadable to nearly every god, devil, or mortal who possesses a fragment.

History

One fragment survives inside the black jade associated with Xiao Lingxi, who can read its Divine Text despite having no conventional cultivation. A second fragment is hidden by Heaven Punishing Divine Emperor Mo E near the Abyss of Nothingness. Qianye Ying'er and Heavenly Wolf Star God Xisu obtain that stone slab at the cost of Xisu's fatal injuries, and the slab later passes to Yun Che. (Chapters 917.5, 929–930, and 1490–1501)

Jie Yuan retains the third fragment after her exile. Before leaving the universe, she gives it with the World Piercer to Xia Qingyue, intending Yun Che to receive the complete truth only after Qingyue makes her final choice. Xia Qingyue entrusts the slab to Shui Meiyin, who eventually delivers it to Yun Che. With all three portions united, his previously incomplete comprehension becomes the complete Ancestral Divine Art. Properties and use

The Manual does not teach fixed attacks. It draws Yun Che toward the principle that all things arise from and return to nothingness, allowing his body and power to interact with laws at their foundation. Even partial comprehension improves his assimilation of incompatible inheritances and his control of Eternal Calamity of Darkness; the complete text helps him exceed the former limit on divine-origin power and later supports his contact with abyssal dust. Possession is not the same as mastery. Qianye Ying'er seeks the Manual because of her Nine Profound Exquisite Body, yet cannot simply read the divine text. Yun Che likewise struggles to explain what he has learned, and progress occurs through affinity with nothingness rather than memorizing an ordinary technique. The physical slabs are therefore keys to comprehension, not weapons with independent combat power. (Chapters 1295, 1490–1501, and 1599–1699)
