Chi Wuyao

Chi Wuyao is the ruler of the Soul Stealing Realm, the Devil Queen of the Northern Divine Region, and the principal strategist behind its conquest of the other divine regions. A level-ten Divine Master bearing the surviving soul origin of the Nirvana Devil Emperor, she combines darkness profound cultivation with soul perception, direct soul attack, implanted soul control, and a talent for reading political desire. Her authority rests not only on personal strength but on the Nine Witches and the system of Shadows, Soul Spirits, and Soul Attendants she built across the northern region.

Her lifelong objective is to free the dark profound practitioners from a shrinking homeland and the persecution of the other regions. That goal makes her an ally of Yun Che, but their partnership develops beyond convenience: she makes him Devil Master, directs the wars fought in his name, helps govern the unified universe, and ultimately gives him most of her Nirvana Devil Emperor Soul before he enters the Abyss. By the latest events, her damaged and diminished soul power has not displaced her from rule; she remains the supreme administrator of Primal Chaos and continues seeking ancient knowledge that may help Yun Che survive and return.

Biography

Rise of the Devil Queen

Chi Wuyao is born in the Northern Divine Region and discovers the untainted soul origin cast out by the Nirvana Devil Emperor before his destruction. The inheritance gives her a duty as well as power: she regards changing the fate of the northern region as the purpose carried within the Devil Emperor Soul. By ten millennia before Yun Che's northern campaign, she has married the Clear Sky God Emperor. His sudden death leaves her in control of a king realm expected to collapse into civil war, yet she resolves the struggle with extraordinary speed, renames the Clear Sky God Realm as the Soul Stealing Realm, and transforms its inherited power into a lineage that can be borne by her Witches. The resulting regime replaces a male-centered succession with nine female shadows answerable to her alone. (Chapters 1582, 1621, 1637, 1639, 1832, and 2026)

Her first major probe outside the northern region brings her into conflict with Zhou Xuzi, Qianye Fantian, and Qianye Wubei. She feigns weakness, draws them into the darkness near Snow Song Realm, and leaves a fear of her soul power that endures for ten thousand years. The clash also brings Mu Xuanyin into the battle. Chi Wuyao initially intends to steal the new realm king's soul and use her as a spy, but detects the Ice Phoenix divine soul within her and instead attaches ten percent of the Nirvana Devil Emperor Soul to Mu Xuanyin. The attachment cannot seize Mu Xuanyin's body or overrule a firm decision; it shares her senses, thoughts, and emotions, and can offer the influence Mu Xuanyin experiences as a second personality. The soul attachment leaves Chi Wuyao an unseen participant in Mu Xuanyin's relationship with Yun Che. She identifies the Heretic God aura when he enters the Divine Ice Phoenix Sect, helps prompt the decision to take him as a disciple, and experiences the same growing attachment. Mu Xuanyin remains the dominant will and acts against Chi Wuyao's wishes when her convictions demand it. When Mu Xuanyin dies protecting Yun Che, the attached devil soul leaves her body, and Chi Wuyao inherits both grief and culpability: she has loved through Mu Xuanyin's senses, but has also influenced a woman who never understood the true source of that second voice. Alliance and northern unification

Chi Wuyao first approaches Yun Che through the Shadows. Nanhuang Chanyi observes him in the Five Nether Ruins, offers a future alliance, and reports his darkness power and hidden identity. Once Yun Che and Qianye Ying'er take the Untamed Divine Marrow and reveal enough of the Eternal Calamity of Darkness to force an answer, Chi Wuyao meets them personally. Qianye Ying'er proposes a partnership founded on complementary aims: Yun Che wants revenge against the three divine regions, while Chi Wuyao wants the strength to unite and liberate the north. Chi Wuyao accepts because Yun Che can perfect other practitioners' darkness compatibility, a power capable of overturning the balance that has kept the northern king realms divided. She gathers the Nine Witches and lets Yun Che remake their darkness power, followed by the Soul Spirits and Soul Attendants. The refinement does not directly raise Chi Wuyao's own formal cultivation, but it transforms the core force she commands and gives her a credible path against Burning Moon and Yama. Her partnership with Yun Che is never passive. She determines which institutions must be absorbed, interprets his provocations, and preserves fallback plans when his hatred makes him unpredictable. In their staged negotiation with Zhou Xuzi, she uses soul control and calculated truths to conceal the trap around Zhou Qingchen. Yun Che's destruction of Fen Daojun creates an opening Chi Wuyao exploits without a second battle. She confronts the Moon Eaters with the death of their emperor, the promise embodied by Yun Che, and the futility of preserving the old order; her Nirvana-infused voice reinforces the argument, but their submission is also grounded in what they have witnessed. Burning Moon is absorbed into her coalition in a day. Yun Che then subdues Yama and its ancestors, while Chi Wuyao prepares the political order that will place all three king realms beneath a single Devil Master. Before the coronation, Chi Wuyao reveals her shared history with Mu Xuanyin. Yun Che reacts with anger at the manipulation, yet the revelation also establishes that her commitment to him is not a recent calculation. Chi Wuyao accepts a position as his empress and publicly frames him as the inheritor of the Heaven Smiting Devil Emperor's will, creating a sacred legitimacy that the three old king realms could not provide one another. She pushes the Nine Witches toward him, entrusts her organization to his rule, and uses the ceremony to turn northern resentment into collective faith. Her relationship with Qianye Ying'er remains competitive and barbed, but the two women increasingly function as complementary counselors rather than rivals capable of derailing the campaign. War of the divine regions

Chi Wuyao refuses to let the invasion depend on Zhou Xuzi behaving irrationally. She fabricates an attack on northern border realms with the Great Void Cauldron, publicly attributes it to Eternal Heaven, and gives the northern population a controlled cause for retaliation. The first offensive avoids the Eastern Divine Region's upper realms. Middle and lower realms are struck with superior forces, their ruling sects are broken, and their people become hostages, leaving the upper realms divided over whether to fight for territories they had long treated as inferior. Chi Wuyao's immediate target is faith rather than bodies: she uses projections, public evidence, and existing resentment to prevent the eastern powers from forming a unified front before Yun Che destroys their king realms. Once Eternal Heaven falls, she prevents revenge from becoming administratively self-defeating. Chi Wuyao manages surrender ceremonies, preserves useful rulers, reserves the Star God Realm for Caizhi, and makes distinctions Yun Che's anger would otherwise ignore. Her soul-stealing capacity is powerful but limited to ten people, so she does not rely on universal mind control; fear, demonstration, and enforceable political incentives do most of the work. When the war moves south, she recognizes the uses of Cang Shitian's instability and keeps enough structure intact to support the coming confrontation with the west. Chi Wuyao also fights directly. Against the Crimson Destruction Dragon God, she deliberately shifts the contest into the soul, where the Nirvana Devil Emperor Soul can erode an opponent whose profound strength exceeds hers. The tactic succeeds in breaking his control and creating openings for physical attacks, but it is not costless: the Dragon God tears through her defenses, injures her, and proves that even a superior soul origin cannot erase a vast difference in bodily power. When Long Bai returns early with the Venerable Withered Dragons, Chi Wuyao senses danger through the Nirvana soul's premonitions and prepares the Deep Sea Divine Realm's barrier. She chooses to hold the line rather than abandon the northern elite whose survival represents the future of her homeland. During battle, she uses soul voice to break Long Bai's Dragon God suppression, coordinates the level-ten Divine Masters, and orders the Witches' Nine Tribulations Heaven Sealing Formation at the decisive moment. Yun Che's return turns the battle, but Chi Wuyao's preparation prevents the coalition from being destroyed before he can act. After victory, she argues for sparing the Qilin and Blue Dragon realms as stabilizing powers, helping convert conquest into a governable imperial order. (Chapters 1824–1857)

Imperial rule and the truth of Xia Qingyue

As Emperor Yun withdraws for long periods of cultivation or family life, Chi Wuyao performs much of the work of rule. She oversees the northern region's integration, regulates its departure from the darkness, chooses administrators, and turns conquered powers into supports for the new system. Her authority remains formally below Yun Che's, yet even god emperors treat her decisions as the operating will of the throne. She is also willing to oppose his immediate preference when preservation requires it, as with the western king realms and the succession arrangements across the conquered regions. Chi Wuyao's political insight is not infallible. She accepts Xia Qingyue's destruction of the false Blue Pole Star as genuine and interprets the Moon God Emperor through that apparent betrayal. After learning that Shui Meiyin and the World Piercer saved the true planet, she is shaken by the scale of Xia Qingyue's deception. She investigates Xia Qingyue's childhood, family, motives, and vanished Moon Gods, recognizing contradictions that her earlier judgment missed. The discovery forces Chi Wuyao to revise both her assessment of Xia Qingyue and her confidence in reading human nature; it also lets her help stabilize Yun Che when the truth turns his hatred into remorse. Her bond with the revived Mu Xuanyin makes this reckoning more personal. Chi Wuyao recognizes Mu Xuanyin immediately, and the two women must live with a love and set of memories once shared without informed consent. They nevertheless become allies around Yun Che and the imperial order. Chi Wuyao does not attempt to reclaim Mu Xuanyin's identity or dismiss her independent will; instead, she treats Xuanyin as both the person whose life she invaded and the person whose feelings transformed her own. Mo Beichen and the Abyss

Mo Beichen's arrival reveals a power beyond the ceiling of Primal Chaos. Chi Wuyao reads the Abyssal Knight's memories, reconstructs the Abyss's cultivation structure, and recognizes that open resistance cannot succeed until Yun Che creates a narrow opportunity. She manipulates Mo Beichen's honor into withholding his personal force, separates collaborators from those willing to resist, and helps turn a doomed confrontation into the setting for Yun Che's God Ash attack. When the Dragon God Soul creates an opening, she drives the Nirvana Devil Emperor Soul into Mo Beichen's soul sea. The intrusion wounds him, but he forcibly expels it; the rebound causes unprecedented damage to Chi Wuyao's devil soul and leaves her soul sea unstable. (Chapters 1951–1957 and 1973–1975)

The damage also awakens ancient fragments within the Nirvana soul. Chi Wuyao identifies the lost Nether Mirror and Devil Pearl as possible foundations of the Abyssal passage, studies the divine realms described in Mo Beichen's memories, and gives Yun Che a strategic account of enemies he has never seen. Before he descends, she imparts her own memories, warns him to treat every Abyssal relationship as potentially expendable, and takes responsibility for Primal Chaos in his absence. Her advice is severe because she knows his strongest virtue is also exploitable: once he truly accepts a bond, he will risk the world to preserve it. (Chapters 1973–1978 and 2153)

At the edge of the Abyss, Chi Wuyao removes eighty percent of the Nirvana Devil Emperor Soul and implants it in Yun Che. He cannot consciously wield it, but it can awaken once as a Devil Emperor's retaliatory soul strike; if triggered, the transferred portion will disappear. The gift leaves Chi Wuyao with only twenty percent of an already injured inheritance and visibly diminishes its light, yet she immediately resumes command. She seals the passage, sends forces to search ancient northern records, and continues investigating a stele recovered near the place where she found the Nirvana soul. By the latest events, no formal cultivation regression is confirmed, but most of her defining soul power remains with Yun Che while she rules the world he left behind. Appearance and personality

Chi Wuyao ordinarily appears in black clothing beneath a veil of black mist that conceals her face and blurs the limits of her figure. The concealment leaves only impressions: long black hair, dusky eyes, snow-white hands, a graceful gait, and a voluptuous silhouette. When the mist disperses, she has an exquisitely beautiful face, crescent brows, phoenix-like eyes, pink lips, and an allure treated as distinct even among the most beautiful women of the God Realm. Her beauty is less ethereal than Shen Xi's and less perfectly sculpted than Qianye Ying'er's, but her gaze, movement, and presence exert an unusually direct pull on the soul. Her voice is one of her most recognizable weapons. It can sound soft, intimate, playful, or languid even when she is issuing a threat, and Nirvana soul power can make its emotional pressure physically difficult to resist. Chi Wuyao deliberately blurs natural charisma, practiced seduction, and supernatural influence, leaving opponents unsure which reactions are their own. She can also remove that warmth completely: during war and judgment, the same voice becomes cold enough to carry command through an army or strike directly into a target's soul. Chi Wuyao is ambitious, patient, and intensely pragmatic. She is willing to deceive populations, sacrifice reputations, exploit grief, and use hostages when those choices advance the northern region's freedom. Her schemes are effective because she does not reduce people to simple pieces; she studies pride, shame, love, resentment, and institutional interest, then gives each target a reason to move in the direction she needs. That control coexists with genuine attachment. Chi Wuyao treats the Witches as beloved children, assumes responsibility for the northern lives committed to her war, and is willing to die with them rather than escape alone. Her teasing of Yun Che and Qianye Ying'er often serves tactical or emotional purposes, but her love for Yun Che is not a performance; the soul bond with Mu Xuanyin makes it older than their direct acquaintance. Divine Master cultivation and darkness power

Chi Wuyao is a level-ten Divine Master, the threshold associated with contemporary god emperors. Her darkness profound energy can contend with other sovereigns, freeze a surrounding elemental field, form powerful barriers, and gather the abundant darkness of the northern region into large-scale attacks. She can conceal pressure so completely that her presence feels natural rather than oppressive, then release power quickly enough to intercept a god emperor. Her stable realm is never shown advancing beyond level ten, and her combat against the Crimson Destruction Dragon God demonstrates the boundary of that cultivation: she can injure a stronger opponent through the soul, but his physical and profound strength can still break her defenses. Her finest darkness applications are coordinated rather than solitary. She creates barriers with other sovereigns, channels devil formations, reinforces armies through soul voice, and directs combatants whose raw strength exceeds her own. The Northern Divine Region increases the power available to her because of its ambient darkness, while regions dominated by non-dark energy deny her that environmental advantage. Yun Che's Eternal Calamity of Darkness perfects the compatibility of her subordinates, not Chi Wuyao's own formal level; she remains the architect and commander of that transformed force rather than the source of their rebirth. Nirvana Devil Emperor Soul

The Nirvana Devil Emperor Soul is not an ordinary inherited technique. It is an untainted soul origin ejected before the Nirvana Devil Emperor was consumed by Myriad Tribulations, and it acknowledges Chi Wuyao alone. It elevates her soul above contemporary mortal inheritances and preserves fragments of primordial memory. Through it, she can perceive hidden soul states, recognize ancient auras, sense danger through spiritual premonition, project her voice directly into consciousness, and convert witnessed memories into images. Damage to the soul can also dislodge buried memories, although the resulting revelation is unpredictable rather than a power she can invoke at will. In direct battle, Chi Wuyao manifests the soul as a black lotus or devil shadow and drives it into an opponent's soul sea. It can erode concentration, divide awareness, induce agony, break control of profound energy, and create openings for physical attacks. She defeats the Crimson Destruction Dragon God in a soul contest despite his superior profound power and later disrupts Mo Beichen when his guard drops. Neither feat is absolute. Dragon God souls can counterattack, a prepared or much stronger soul can resist, and failure carries severe rebound. Soul-stealing places a fragment or imprint within another person, allowing coercion, remote observation, memory access, or delayed manipulation. Chi Wuyao uses it to control targets, monitor Zhou Xuzi, and make staged deceptions convincing even to god emperors. The art has a firm capacity: she can maintain at most ten soul-stolen people, and withdrawing one mark is necessary to free a place for another. It is also dangerous against peak experts unless their defenses are weakened. Witches and transformed inheritance

Chi Wuyao converts the indestructible inheritance of the Clear Sky God Realm into the Witch inheritance and restricts its succession to selected women. The Nine Witches share a common power origin and an unusually close mental connection; Jie Xin and Jie Ling jointly occupy the position of Great Witch, while the others develop specialized gifts such as Hua Jin's disguise and concealment. Chi Wuyao selects for talent, temperament, loyalty, and beauty, then integrates each woman into a network that serves as both military elite and intelligence service. Creating Witches is not portrayed as an instant or unlimited process: candidates are rare, the inherited source is finite, and their own cultivation remains necessary. The common origin lets the Witches combine power with precision that unrelated Divine Masters cannot easily reproduce. Under Chi Wuyao's direction, they execute ancient formations, share tactical responses, and operate as hidden Shadows throughout the northern region. Yun Che later grants them perfect darkness compatibility and teaches the Nine Tribulations Heaven Sealing Formation, greatly increasing what Chi Wuyao's system can accomplish without making those improvements her personal techniques. Chi Wuyao treats information as a combat resource. Her Shadows infiltrate distant regions; implanted souls report through their hosts; her perception notices fluctuations and hidden motives; and her understanding of pride lets her redirect enemies who know they are being manipulated. Representative applications include drawing three eastern experts into northern darkness, converting the Burning Moon succession without a battle, framing Eternal Heaven to divide the Eastern Divine Region, preparing for Long Bai's return through a premonition others cannot verify, and exploiting Mo Beichen's knightly honor. These victories depend on preparation and accurate premises. Shui Meiyin's concealment of the true Blue Pole Star and Xia Qingyue's self-sacrificing design both escape her judgment, showing that even the Nirvana soul cannot make another person's motives transparent. By the latest events, Chi Wuyao retains her level-ten Divine Master cultivation but no longer possesses most of the power that made her uniquely dangerous. She keeps twenty percent, enough to remain its acknowledged bearer and continue sensing ancient relics, but no recovery of the lost portion is confirmed. Her latest effective state is therefore that of a god-emperor-level darkness practitioner, master strategist, and universal ruler with a severely reduced primordial soul inheritance rather than the full soul attacker who fought the Dragon Gods.
