The Mirror of Samsara is the seventh Heavenly Profound Treasure and the artifact behind Yun Che's passage from death in Azure Cloud Continent to life in Xiao Che's body. It ordinarily resembles an old silver pendant whose surface does not display a conventional reflection.

History

Xiao Lie keeps the pendant with the infant he raises as Xiao Che, making it the only object consistently tied to the child's hidden origin. After Azure Cloud's Yun Che dies at Cloud's End Cliff, he awakens in Xiao Che's poisoned body with his earlier memories and the Sky Poison Pearl. The pendant is present around his neck, but remains dormant and offers no explanation that the reborn Yun Che can test. (Prologue; Chapters 1 and 273–296)

The artifact later becomes evidence of Yun Che's connection to Ni Xuan and the ancient history surrounding Jie Yuan. Its deepest role is revealed through Xia Qingyue's fate: the mirror's power, her Nine Profound Exquisite Body and Heart of Glazed Glass, and the converging wishes surrounding Yun Che produce a causality that joins otherwise separate lives and timelines. The exact mechanism is treated as a singular divine event rather than a technique Yun Che can activate whenever he chooses. (Chapters 1306, 1495, 1870–1872, and 1928–1934)

Properties and use

The Mirror of Samsara interferes with reincarnation, time, and causality. Its activation can preserve identity and memory across death while placing a soul into another life, but the result is more complex than ordinary possession: Yun Che's identities as Azure Cloud's Yun Che and Xiao Che are woven into one continuous existence. The artifact also conceals itself so thoroughly that even owners of other Heavenly Profound Treasures cannot simply read its history or force it to respond. Its power is neither a repeatable resurrection nor a controllable time-travel method. The mirror stays silent through later deaths and revivals, while Phoenix and Ice Phoenix nirvana operate through separate inheritances. Yun Che carries it as a pendant and source of identity evidence, not as an artifact he can command in battle. (Chapters 1342–1368, 1495, and 1870–1872)
