Mu Xuanyin

Mu Xuanyin is the former realm king of the Snow Song Realm, the strongest inheritor of the Ice Phoenix in the present era, and Yun Che's master in the God Realm. Her severe instruction gives him the foundation to survive the divine way, while her repeated decisions to protect him reshape both their lives: she abandons her realm and dies for him, returns through Ice Phoenix Rebirth, and later stands beside him as Consort Ice and one of the foremost defenders of the Primal Chaos.

Biography

Realm king and hidden watcher

Nearly ten thousand years before Yun Che reaches the Snow Song Realm, the true Ice Phoenix grants Mu Xuanyin its divine power and connects its divine soul to hers. She enters the Divine Master Realm, succeeds as realm king, and turns a vulnerable middle star realm into a power that its neighbors fear to provoke. Her authority is absolute but not arbitrary. The death of her father and other relatives at the hands of dark profound practitioners hardens her hatred of devils, while responsibility for the Snow Song Realm forces her to restrain even justified vengeance when open war would destroy her people. (Chapters 976, 1000–1001, 1558, and 1694)

During a battle near the Northern Divine Region, Mu Xuanyin attacks Chi Wuyao soon after entering the Divine Master Realm and is captured. Chi Wuyao intends to seize her soul, but the independent will concealed inside the Ice Phoenix divine soul makes the attempt dangerous. She instead attaches ten percent of her Nirvana Devil Emperor Soul to Mu Xuanyin. The attachment shares Mu Xuanyin's senses, memories, and feelings and sometimes speaks to her as an apparent second personality, but it cannot independently control her body or overturn a decision once Mu Xuanyin has made it. Mu Xuanyin remains the dominant will and does not learn that either ancient soul is present until the last moments of her first life. (Chapters 1621 and 1693–1695)

When Yun Che enters the Divine Ice Phoenix Sect, the attached devil soul recognizes his Heretic God aura and prompts Mu Xuanyin to investigate him. She first approaches in the guise of an alluring senior sister, then reveals herself as the feared sect master and chooses him over the realm's established heirs as her sole direct disciple. Curiosity about his inheritance is only part of her decision. She recognizes that his elemental gifts and refusal to submit can carry him far beyond the Snow Song Realm, eliminates threats that could expose his secrets, and gives him the realm's best resources despite the danger his ambitions create for her sect. The arrangement begins as protection and cultivation, but his willingness to defy her over injustice and risk himself for others steadily makes the relationship personal. (Chapters 980–1003)

Disciple, horned dragons, and the Profound God Convention

Mu Xuanyin trains Yun Che with an intensity calibrated to the danger awaiting him. She suppresses her power to levels his body can survive, batters technique and judgment into him, and sets Mist End Valley as a lethal but supervised trial. Her severity is paired with covert protection: she watches when he leaves the sect, supplies rare resources, and tries to arrange an Ice Phoenix dual-cultivation partner who can accelerate his advance toward the Divine Tribulation Realm. Her method is demanding because she knows the Profound God Convention is his only plausible path to Jasmine, and because weak judgment would expose inheritances that the king realms would kill to possess. (Chapters 1003–1047)

The ancient horned-dragon hunt tests both her power and the limits of that control. Mu Xuanyin accepts cooperation with Huo Rulie and the Flame God sect masters despite a thousand-year feud, both to secure the dragon's heart for Yun Che and to pursue a prize important to the two realms. A second dragon ambush poisons and grievously wounds her. Rather than abandon the hunt, she burns her Ice Phoenix origin blood through Broken Moon Oblivion, kills one dragon, and continues fighting when death appears certain. Yun Che enters the battlefield, helps kill the survivor, purges the poison, and saves her inside the Primordial Profound Ark. The rescue also costs her Ice Phoenix vital yin and appears likely to cripple her cultivation, but within half a year she returns completely restored and far stronger. The experience breaks through emotional restraints that ten thousand years of the Ice Phoenix God Investiture Canon had reinforced, even though she continues to hide that change behind the authority of master and realm king. Mu Xuanyin then concentrates the Snow Song Realm's resources on Yun Che's preparation for the Profound God Convention. She negotiates for the complete Golden Crow's Record of the Burning World, personally helps him cultivate, and protects his secrets while refusing to let his rapid success excuse recklessness. When he later becomes a target of Qianye Ying'er, Mu Xuanyin follows the crisis beyond the God Realm of Absolute Beginning and holds off Gu Zhu without revealing her identity or full power. She infiltrates the Moon God Realm afterward to make certain Yun Che is safe, accepting personal and political risk because no one else can answer where he has been taken. These choices move her beyond a sect master's duty: she has begun placing his life above the safety of her own position, even while insisting that her conduct is merely a master's protection of her disciple. Concealed devotion and death

When Yun Che's soul crystal shatters during the Star God Realm sacrifice, Mu Xuanyin outwardly condemns his suicidal choice but immediately turns her grief into action. She captures the weakened Star God Emperor and punishes him for driving Yun Che to death, refusing to grant him the release of a quick execution. After discovering Yun Che alive but powerless on the Blue Pole Star, she chooses not to contact him. She believes that returning him to the God Realm would only restore the pressure, enemies, and losses from which his apparent death has freed him; the decision costs her the relationship she wants in order to preserve the peaceful life she thinks he needs. (Chapters 1351–1355 and 1373–1377)

Yun Che's return makes that distance impossible to maintain. Mu Xuanyin reveals tenth-level Divine Master power by defeating Luo Guxie, both protecting her disciple and warning the king realms that he is no longer easy prey. She challenges his rashness, helps shelter those attached to him, and works with Xia Qingyue even when she cannot understand the Moon God Emperor's growing fatalism. Beneath those practical decisions, she increasingly refuses to let the formal master–disciple bond define what she feels. Her earlier attempt to arrange Yun Che's engagement to Shui Meiyin and her willingness to expose hidden strength both show the same priority: build enough protection around him that no single king realm can dictate his fate. The Ice Phoenix Spirit finally admits that it once interfered with Mu Xuanyin's will and removes that influence. Mu Xuanyin's subsequent choice is therefore entirely her own. When the king realms turn on Yun Che outside the false Blue Pole Star, she strikes Xia Qingyue, shields him against Zhou Xuzi and Qianye Fantian, and spends most of her strength on his protection rather than her own survival. She burns her origin blood again, wounds Zhou Xuzi, and keeps Yun Che alive until Long Bai's palm deals the fatal blow. Her final act is to return the Void Illusion Stone to Yun Che and order him to live. The decision abandons her realm and office for him, but it also saves the person whose later conquest overturns the order that condemned them both. (Chapters 1509–1531)

Ice Phoenix Rebirth and the imperial war

Yun Che places Mu Xuanyin's body in the Heavenly Netherfrost Lake. There the special thread of nirvana energy left by the Ice Phoenix Spirit begins an imperfect but complete rebirth in ice. Her body and soul return, her Ice Phoenix power undergoes a fundamental change, and the Nirvana Devil Soul that had shared her for ten thousand years is no longer attached. Mu Xuanyin awakens roughly a year after her death but hides her revival for three more years. She understands that Yun Che's belief in her death is helping sustain his revenge and refuses to weaken his resolve before the Eastern Divine Region has paid its debt. Death also changes how she understands obligation: she no longer accepts the realm king's office, the Ice Phoenix Spirit's interference, or Chi Wuyao's attachment as claims on her identity, and resolves to live by her own will. (Chapters 1532, 1694–1695, and 1741)

That new independence does not mean indifference. Mu Xuanyin reveals herself early to rescue Mu Bingyun from the Brahma Monarch Realm, then meets Chi Wuyao face to face for the first time. She repays the violation of her soul with one sword thrust, but spares and later forgives the Devil Queen because Chi Wuyao kept her promise to protect Yun Che. Mu Xuanyin then offers to clear obstacles in the Southern Divine Region. Concealment lets her eliminate powerful targets before they can react, take the Southern Sea inheritance after Nan Wansheng's fall, and watch over Yun Che without announcing that the person he mourns is still beside him. (Chapters 1741–1788 and 1877–1878)

She finally returns openly during the Western Divine Region's invasion. Her assassination of the Crimson Destruction Dragon God turns Ice Phoenix Rebirth into a strategic surprise, and the enhanced cold following it is strong enough to kill a Dragon God before the surrounding peak experts detect her. She fights in coordination with Chi Wuyao and Yun Che's other allies, then returns to the Snow Song Realm when the war ends. Her reunion with Mu Bingyun releases years of pressure from her younger sister, while her reunion with Yun Che allows both of them to replace the interrupted master–disciple bond with a relationship chosen without disguise or outside control. Consort Ice and the Abyssal invasion

Mu Xuanyin supports Yun Che's coronation while remaining one of the few people willing to correct him directly. He names her Consort Ice, and Mu Bingyun assumes the Snow Song Realm's daily burdens so her sister can finally live outside the office that governed her for ten thousand years. Mu Xuanyin nevertheless continues acting as protector and teacher: she watches over Yun Wuxin, steadies Yun Che when the truth of Xia Qingyue's sacrifice breaks him, and stands with Chi Wuyao, Qianye Ying'er, and Shui Meiyin until he chooses to live without rejecting his grief. Her place in the imperial household is therefore not retirement, but a freer continuation of the responsibility she once exercised as his master. (Chapters 1877–1932)

The first Abyssal pioneers expose the limit of even that power. Mu Xuanyin overwhelms the level-ten page Yin Feng after his arrogance gives her the initiative, repeatedly freezing his energy, flesh, bones, and soul before piercing him with the Snow Princess Sword. Nan Zhaoming is several times stronger. Mu Xuanyin recognizes immediately that she cannot defeat him, develops her defense around Ice Razor Stars, and uses an Ice Phoenix cry and Broken Moon Oblivion to warn Yun Che not to approach. Qianye Ying'er and the two Brahma ancestors join her despite the warning, turning the encounter into the first direct measure of the gulf between the Primal Chaos's Divine Masters and the Abyss's Half-Step Divine Extinction Realm. When Mo Beichen later captures the exhausted Yun Che, Mu Xuanyin attacks by instinct despite serious wounds and the certainty that her strength cannot breach a Half-God's defense. After that fails, she joins Chi Wuyao's plan to convince him that his closest companions have abandoned him, hoping he will survive in hiding rather than die beside them. Yun Che rejects the sacrifice and returns to fight with them. Mu Xuanyin survives Mo Beichen's defeat and remains in the Primal Chaos as a level-ten Divine Master, Consort Ice, and its supreme living practitioner of ice while Yun Che enters the Abyss. Appearance and personality

Mu Xuanyin is an exceptionally beautiful woman with luminous pale skin, an imposing figure, and long hair that falls to her waist. Her hair is usually ice-white or pure icy blue, every strand carrying the cold sheen of the Ice Phoenix; when her origin blood and strength are exhausted, that color fades toward its natural black. Her eyes are icy blue and capable of projecting a pressure that silences her entire sect. She normally wears snow-white or pale-blue robes and carries the same glacial, immaculate bearing whether enthroned above the Heavenly Netherfrost Lake or moving unseen through a battlefield. (Chapters 984, 992, 1061, 1529–1531, and 1741)

Her ordinary manner is cold, proud, disciplined, and frighteningly decisive. She can destroy enemies without hesitation and has little patience for disobedience, but her severity is governed by responsibility rather than a taste for cruelty. She weighs the survival of the Snow Song Realm even when personally enraged, repays debts, and protects those she has accepted with a generosity that ignores ordinary limits. Yun Che is the clearest example: she punishes his recklessness because she wants him to live, then repeatedly makes choices that expose how completely his survival has become her own highest priority. The seductive manner that occasionally replaces her frozen dignity originates partly in Chi Wuyao's attached Nirvana Devil Soul. It is not evidence that Mu Xuanyin ceased to control herself: she treats the voice as a second personality, sometimes willingly yields expression to it, and always retains final authority over her body and settled decisions. Their shared emotions also change both women, so the warmth, jealousy, and love expressed during those moments cannot be assigned wholly to one of them. After death severs the attachment, Mu Xuanyin describes herself as more completely free and true to her own will, yet her loyalty, bluntness, and habit of indulging Yun Che remain unmistakably the same. Abilities and cultivation

Divine Master cultivation and the Ice Phoenix inheritance

Mu Xuanyin reaches the Divine Master Realm roughly ten thousand years before the main God Realm conflict and is later revealed as a tenth-level Divine Master. Her profound strength, speed, durability, perception, and spatial control place her at the summit of the divine way: before her first death she can fight Gu Zhu without revealing her art, defeat Luo Guxie, and withstand combined attacks from two god emperors while spending most of her strength to protect Yun Che. Reports that once placed her at the fourth level are repeatedly shown to underestimate or misunderstand her concealed cultivation. (Chapters 984, 1296–1298, 1423, 1529–1531, and 1621)

Her foundation is the power bestowed by the true Ice Phoenix and cultivated through the Ice Phoenix God Investiture Canon. It creates cold capable of freezing profound energy, flesh, blood, space, and soul; forming barriers and domains; summoning an Ice Phoenix image; and concentrating destructive power through the Snow Princess Sword. The art's emotional stillness suits the role she built as realm king, but it does not erase her feelings. Her most important applications include freezing millions of kilometers outside Blue Pole Star, preserving Yun Che inside barriers that withstand god-emperor attacks, suppressing Xing Juekong's profound veins, and layering dozens of ice prisons so rapidly that an equally ranked Abyssal page cannot recover his initiative. Ice Phoenix Rebirth elevates this inheritance without promoting her beyond the named tenth level. The nirvana energy restores a complete body and soul, greatly strengthens her profound and soul energy, and leaves her with both the Ice Phoenix Origin Power and Divine Soul after the ancient spirit's disappearance. Her compatibility continues improving, aided later by dual cultivation with Yun Che; by the Abyssal invasion she can sustain repeated maximum-strength freezing layers and is regarded as the Primal Chaos's supreme ice practitioner. The increase does not make her a Half-God. Half-Step Divine Extinction experts can break her strongest defense, while Mo Beichen's barrier rejects her full-power thrust without yielding. Moon Splitting Cascade

Moon Splitting Cascade is an Ice Phoenix movement art that manipulates presence and position. Mu Xuanyin uses it for sudden displacement, infiltration, evasion, and eventually complete concealment of both figure and aura. Early in Yun Che's training, the legendary Concealment Realm is something even she has not reached, and Yun Che is the first to demonstrate it. She later pushes the stealth component farther than anyone else: she enters the Eternal Heaven and Moon God realms undetected, remains hidden for years after her revival, watches over Yun Che across hostile territory, and approaches top Dragon Gods closely enough to kill before their ancient senses register her. Concealment is her principal tactical equalizer rather than invulnerability. It gives her the first strike against stronger or politically protected targets, but an attack reveals her and does not close the raw-power gap afterward. Shui Meiyin's Divine Stainless Soul can perceive the attached Chi Wuyao in her early life, the revived Mu Xuanyin can be found by those with exceptional perception, and direct area attacks remain dangerous once battle begins. Against Nan Zhaoming, Moon Splitting Cascade lets her escape the center of a vastly superior attack, yet even that success leaves her injured and cracks the Snow Princess Sword. Broken Moon Oblivion and defensive arts

Broken Moon Oblivion is the Divine Ice Phoenix Sect's forbidden formation and Mu Xuanyin's most costly direct technique. It burns Ice Phoenix origin blood together with large amounts of blood essence to produce a world-shaking burst of freezing power. During the horned-dragon disaster, it kills a Divine Master dragon even after poison and injury have consumed most of her strength, but leaves her below one tenth of her power, strips the Ice Phoenix divinity from her remaining cold, damages talent and cultivation, and allows the poison to reach her soul. She survives only because Yun Che intervenes and purifies it. (Chapters 1060–1067)

She uses the same principle outside Blue Pole Star and again against Nan Zhaoming, each time accepting grievous personal cost to protect or warn Yun Che. The post-rebirth version can wound a Half-Step Divine Extinction opponent's palm, but cannot overcome the difference in realm. Her newer Ice Razor Stars takes the opposite approach: countless slow-moving ice crystals maximize defense around her, yet Nan Zhaoming destroys the formation in an instant. These encounters establish both her ingenuity and a firm limit—at the peak of the Divine Master Realm she can injure, delay, or escape a careless superior, but cannot win a direct contest with the Abyss's Half-Gods. Ice Phoenix Rebirth

The Ice Phoenix Spirit leaves Mu Xuanyin a special thread of incomplete nirvana divine energy before fading. Unlike Yun Che's weaker Phoenix rebirth, the gift comes from a true ancient Ice Phoenix rather than a soul fragment. After her first death, immersion in the Heavenly Netherfrost Lake activates it over time, recreating both body and soul and fundamentally changing the Ice Phoenix power within her. The rebirth is tied to a first death in ice and is already spent in restoring her; no second revival is established. (Chapters 1741 and 1843)

Rebirth also resolves the competing influences on her soul. Chi Wuyao's attached ten-percent devil soul leaves when Mu Xuanyin dies, and the Ice Phoenix Spirit's independent will has already vanished, while their effects on her memories and emotional development remain. The result is neither a reincarnation nor a new person: Chi Wuyao recognizes every detail of the revived woman as Mu Xuanyin, and Mu Xuanyin retains her relationships, grievances, cultivation, and chosen loyalties while regarding her mind as wholly her own for the first time. Instruction, perception, and command

Mu Xuanyin is an exacting teacher with broad knowledge of divine inheritances, profound constitutions, elemental law, and the politics of the king realms. She identifies which resources and training risks Yun Che can survive, adapts her attacks to his current level, recognizes concealed inheritances, and constructs a route from the Divine Origin Realm toward the Profound God Convention. Her judgment is not infallible—Chi Wuyao's hidden soul supplies some perceptions she originally attributes to herself, and the Ancient God Burying Inferno Prison ambush defeats her plans—but she responds to failure by changing tactics rather than protecting her pride. As a realm king and later imperial consort, she pairs those senses with decisive command. She can monitor enormous battlefields, place soul crystals, read danger from changes in aura, and coordinate silently with Chi Wuyao well enough to create assassination openings against Dragon Gods. Her characteristic limitation is emotional rather than technical: where Yun Che is concerned, she knowingly accepts suicidal odds. That devotion saves him more than once, but also causes her first death and drives her to attack Mo Beichen when withdrawal is the only rational choice. (Chapters 1351, 1529–1531, 1843, and 1945)

• Yun Che: Mu Xuanyin chooses Yun Che as her sole direct disciple, builds his God Realm foundation, and becomes his most severe protector. His courage during the horned-dragon crisis changes her feelings, while her death to save him becomes one of the principal causes of his conquest. After her rebirth, they set aside the formal master–disciple boundary and she becomes Consort Ice, though she remains the person whose correction he respects most.
• Mu Bingyun: Her younger sister and only surviving close blood relative. Mu Xuanyin nearly wages war over the poison that afflicts Bingyun, entrusts the Snow Song Realm to her, and reveals her rebirth early when Bingyun is taken hostage. Bingyun in turn preserves her sister's home, assumes the realm king's duties, and urges her to live for herself.
• Chi Wuyao: Chi Wuyao secretly shares Mu Xuanyin's senses and emotions for ten thousand years through an attached fragment of her Nirvana Devil Emperor Soul. Mu Xuanyin remains the dominant mind but regards the intrusion as a violation once she learns the truth. After rebirth separates them, one sword thrust settles the grievance; Chi Wuyao's fidelity to her promise to protect Yun Che allows them to become trusted allies with a bond no ordinary friendship can reproduce.
• Huo Rulie: Their feud begins when Mu Xuanyin accidentally cripples Huo Ye and Huo Rulie retaliates against Mu Bingyun. Yun Che's cure of Huo Ye allows both sides to acknowledge the damage they caused. Their later cooperation secures the horned dragon's remains and the complete Golden Crow inheritance, replacing a thousand years of hatred with a guarded but durable peace.
• Qianye Ying'er: Qianye Ying'er's pursuit of Yun Che makes her an early threat Mu Xuanyin cannot safely confront in public. After the northern conquest, they become fierce allies whose shared instinct is to protect him even against his orders; they fight the first Abyssal pioneers together and are jointly overmatched by Half-Step Divine Extinction power.
• Long Bai: Long Bai deals the fatal blow that ends Mu Xuanyin's first life. Her unexpected return through Ice Phoenix Rebirth and her assassination of his strongest Dragon God become part of the reversal that destroys his rule, while Yun Che's memory of that palm makes Long Bai the foremost target of his vengeance.
