Long Bai

Long Bai is the Dragon Monarch, ruler of the Dragon God Realm and the acknowledged sovereign of the Primal Chaos before the rise of Yun Che. His immense age, Dragon God body, and reputation for measured justice make him the stabilizing power above the king realms, but his hidden fixation on Shen Xi turns that public virtue into obsessive hatred. His decision to destroy Yun Che ultimately commits the Western Divine Region to its most devastating war.

Biography

The monarch who favored Yun Che

Long Bai arrives at the Eternal Heaven Realm because the crack in the Wall of Primal Chaos concerns every divine region, yet he also takes a genuine interest in the younger generation gathered for the Profound God Convention. He observes rather than dominates the Eastern Divine Region’s ceremony, mediates disputes among god emperors, recognizes ancient abilities that others overlook, and evaluates competitors without allowing regional pride to distort his judgment. That composure reinforces why even god emperors defer to him: his authority rests not only on strength, but on the expectation that the strongest being in the present world will act with restraint. (Chapters 1151–1168)

Yun Che increasingly commands his attention. Long Bai identifies the high-level dragon soul within him, praises achievements that overturn the convention’s assumptions, and repeatedly shields his right to compete. After Yun Che defeats Luo Changsheng, Long Bai publicly offers to take him as an adopted son, both honoring his potential and placing the protection of the Dragon God Realm behind him. Yun Che declines because he already has parents and a master, but Long Bai accepts the refusal without retaliation. At this stage, his regard is sincere enough that the other rulers later find his reversal difficult to explain. (Chapters 1217–1254)

When Qianye Ying’er’s Brahma Soul Death-Wishing Mark leaves Yun Che beyond ordinary healing, Long Bai takes him to Shen Xi’s Forbidden Land of Samsara. He entrusts the young man to the one person he reveres most and accepts Shen Xi’s insistence that Yun Che remain there for an extended recovery. The decision saves Yun Che’s life, but it also brings Yun Che and Shen Xi into an intimacy Long Bai cannot tolerate. Long Bai’s benevolence therefore creates the very circumstance that exposes the possessiveness beneath his public image. (Chapters 1295–1300)

Shen Xi and the collapse of restraint

Long Bai’s attachment to Shen Xi began more than three hundred thousand years earlier, when enemies crippled and blinded him and left him to die. She restored him, refined his draconic body, and gave him the foundation from which he eventually became the strongest Dragon God in history. He treated that rescue as an absolute personal bond, while the wider God Realm accepted the fiction that the secluded Shen Xi was his Dragon Queen. Shen Xi did not regard herself as his wife, and his centuries of devotion never gave him the relationship he imagined. (Chapters 1597, 1716, and 1854–1859)

The change becomes visible after Long Bai visits the Forbidden Land and understands that Shen Xi has chosen Yun Che. He does not confront that loss openly. At the edge of the Primal Chaos, after Yun Che has helped persuade the Heaven Smiting Devil Emperor to depart, Long Bai instead joins the rulers turning against him. His condemnation gives the other god emperors permission to treat their savior as a devil, and his palm deals the fatal blow that appears to kill Mu Xuanyin when she protects Yun Che. What the world reads as enforcement of the righteous order is, in large part, punishment driven by jealousy. (Chapters 1506–1531 and 1716)

His long-built reputation makes that betrayal especially consequential. Had he defended Yun Che, the debt owed by the divine regions and his superior standing could have checked the other god emperors. Instead, his decision unifies them against Yun Che and helps drive him into the Northern Divine Region. Long Bai retains the language of law and purity, but his private motive has already displaced the impartiality that once made those judgments credible. (Chapters 1506–1531 and 1714–1716)

Absence, return, and the western host

Before the Northern Divine Region invades the east, Shui Meiyin uses the World Piercer to create signs that draw Long Bai away from the Dragon God Realm. His unexplained absence denies the eastern king realms the immediate intervention they expect and allows Yun Che’s forces to overthrow Eternal Heaven, Moon God, and Brahma Monarch in rapid succession. The deception works because Long Bai’s concern for the Forbidden Land of Samsara and Shen Xi overrides ordinary strategic caution. (Chapters 1762, 1771, and 1820–1822)

He returns earlier than his enemies expect and finds the Forbidden Land destroyed. Rage does not make him dismissive of the northern forces; it makes him methodical and absolute. He recalls every Dragon God, Dragon Sovereign, and Master Dragon, conscripts the Divine Masters of the five other western king realms, awakens the five Venerable Withered Dragons, and uses World Dragon City to transport the entire host to the Ten Directions Deep Sea Realm. By concentrating more than eight hundred Divine Masters and forbidding lesser troops from joining, he aims to erase the Northern Divine Region’s ruling strength in one decisive engagement. Long Bai’s strategic preparation is formidable, but his purpose is personal. Chi Wuyao exploits that weakness by telling him Yun Che will return from the Eternal Heaven Divine Realm in roughly twelve hours. Rather than finish the exhausted defenders immediately, Long Bai orders his overwhelming army to wait so that Yun Che can witness their destruction and die by his own hands. The delay gives the northern forces time to use layered barriers, recovery measures, and a plan centered on Long Bai’s fixation. The strongest coalition in the world is thus made to follow the timetable of one man’s jealousy. (Chapters 1830–1835)

Battle at the Deep Sea Realm

When the trap closes, Long Bai demonstrates why his supremacy endured for so long. Two Yama Ancestors, two Brahma Ancestors, multiple god-emperor-class combatants, and several level-ten Divine Masters can restrain but not quickly defeat him. His transformed white-dragon body crushes Moon Eaters, scatters coordinated attackers, and survives force sufficient to break thousands of bones. Even the Venerable Withered Dragons conclude that his body may have surpassed the known limit of their race. (Chapters 1835–1838)

He fights with direct force because his bloodline, body, power, and soul have become more effective than elaborate techniques. That simplicity is also a limit: Chi Wuyao can interfere with his soul control, and coordinated attackers can break his defenses when his draconic energy is suppressed. The premature collapse of the Deep Sea Barrier saves him from being worn down, after which his host overwhelms the northern army. By the time Yun Che returns, many of the people who waited to protect him have been killed or maimed, and Long Bai believes the war has already been decided. (Chapters 1835–1848)

Long Bai insists on fighting Yun Che alone, partly to preserve the appearance of sovereign dignity and chiefly to possess the revenge he has denied everyone else. He initially judges Yun Che by his unchanged Divine Sovereign cultivation, but that judgment ignores the profound laws and Dragon God authority Yun Che mastered inside the Eternal Heaven Divine Realm. Yun Che’s superior dragon soul disrupts Long Bai’s control, suppresses the whole western draconic host, and turns the Dragon Monarch’s incomparable racial advantages against him. Death of the Dragon Monarch

Yun Che exposes the truth Long Bai protected from the world: Shen Xi was never his queen, her grace did not make her his possession, and his ascent began with a life she chose to save. The accusation breaks what remains of Long Bai’s composure. He attacks with increasing frenzy, while Yun Che burns him with Phoenix and Golden Crow flame, tears away his defenses, and reduces the Dragon God forces to helpless submission through origin-level draconic suppression. Long Bai’s army is destroyed around him, leaving the defeated Dragon Monarch reserved for Yun Che’s judgment. (Chapters 1852–1859)

Mortally crushed, Long Bai is offered final words because Yun Che remembers the aid he once gave him. He tries to use those words to wound Yun Che through Shen Xi, showing that even at death his obsession matters more than the realm ruined on his orders. Mu Xuanyin severs his head before he can finish, claiming revenge for the blow that nearly killed her and preventing him from leaving Yun Che with a final poison. Long Bai dies with Shen Xi’s name in his thoughts, and the Dragon God Realm’s million-year supremacy collapses with him. (Chapters 1859–1860)

Appearance and personality

In human form, Long Bai is a tall, imposing man with sword-straight brows, sharply defined features, and eyes compared to the sun in a clear sky. His presence can still the surrounding air and make observers feel as though they stand before the unquestioned lord of the world. He usually wears white and maintains a restrained bearing rather than decorating himself with the excess expected of a universal monarch. His true form is a colossal white dragon whose body exceeds even the durability recorded for earlier Dragon Gods. (Chapters 1151, 1822, and 1835–1838)

For most of his reign, Long Bai is known as broad-minded, righteous, and disinclined to abuse the weak. He speaks sparingly, praises talent outside his own region, and can stop conflicts simply by offering a judgment. That public character is not wholly false: his early treatment of Yun Che shows real admiration and generosity. Its fatal boundary is Shen Xi. When his imagined claim on her is threatened, he converts private jealousy into moral condemnation and eventually into a war that sacrifices his people. (Chapters 1156–1254, 1597, and 1716)

His pride normally produces calm because almost no one can force him to struggle. Against Yun Che, the loss of control exposes a more brittle self. He delays victory for personal spectacle, punishes his own Dragon Gods while venting frustration, and rejects what his senses tell him when Yun Che’s dragon aura surpasses his own. Even his courage at the end remains inseparable from possessiveness: he would rather destroy the western draconic order than accept that Shen Xi’s will was never his to command. (Chapters 1830–1859)

Abilities and cultivation

Dragon God bloodline, body, and true form

Long Bai’s strength is founded on the Dragon God bloodline rather than a technique-centered path. Dragons cultivate more slowly than humans but possess vastly longer lives, stronger bodies, and higher natural limits; at roughly three hundred and fifty thousand years old, Long Bai remains in his prime. Shen Xi’s ancient intervention restored his ruined body and helped refine it toward an unprecedented state, after which centuries of cultivation made him the strongest Dragon God of the era. In battle he can assume a gigantic white-dragon form and bring his full physique, claws, tail, and draconic energy to bear. His body absorbs combined strikes from multiple god-emperor-class enemies, heals or stabilizes through punishment that would destroy ordinary Divine Masters, and remains dangerous after thousands of bones are broken. This durability is not invulnerability. Concentrated attacks can fracture him when his protective energy is suppressed, Golden Crow and Phoenix divine flames can burn him, and Yun Che’s peak force ultimately overwhelms the body Shen Xi helped create. Draconic energy and soul pressure

Long Bai releases draconic energy as crushing physical and spiritual pressure. A projected dragon image halts several level-ten Divine Masters at once, while broad releases knock back armies, destabilize weaker cultivators, and empower direct strikes without the preparation elaborate profound arts require. His control is refined enough to suppress or conceal much of his force until the instant of impact. (Chapters 1835–1837 and 1847–1851)

His dragon soul stands at the pinnacle of the current dragon race, supporting perception, intimidation, and command over lesser draconic bloodlines. He can recognize a Master Dragon soul in Yun Che and probe the purity of dragon blood, but he mistakes the true origin and completeness of Yun Che’s inheritance. That error becomes decisive: the Primordial Azure Dragon’s origin soul and marrow place Yun Che above Long Bai in bloodline authority, causing Long Bai’s energy to collapse and forcing the western dragons to kneel despite their will. His soul is also not immune to specialist interference; Chi Wuyao’s Nirvana Devil Soul disrupts his control long enough for physical attackers to break his defenses. Combat judgment and command

Long Bai’s experience allows him to read unfamiliar abilities, identify ancient techniques such as Perfect Invisibility, and coordinate powers from several king realms. His western mobilization selects only Divine Masters, retrieves hidden ancestral defenders, and uses an ancient spatial city to erase the usual travel delay between divine regions. These decisions show disciplined strategic judgment until his hatred of Yun Che dictates the objective. (Chapters 1160–1163 and 1822–1830)

His command has a practical limit beyond the loyalty enforced by status. The Blue Dragon and Qilin forces obey but deliberately conserve their strength because they do not share his desire for extermination. More importantly, Long Bai’s twelve-hour wait hands Chi Wuyao time she could not otherwise have created. His latest battle therefore demonstrates both the reach of his leadership and the danger of subordinating an army’s purpose to personal revenge. (Chapters 1830–1835 and 1856–1861)

• Shen Xi: Shen Xi rescues Long Bai from death and helps remake his body, an act he turns into centuries of absolute devotion and an imagined marital claim. Her refusal to belong to him, and her choice of Yun Che, expose the obsession beneath his restraint and become the principal motive for his fall. (Chapters 1597, 1716, and 1854–1859)

• Yun Che: Long Bai first admires Yun Che, protects him at the Profound God Convention, offers to adopt him, and carries him to Shen Xi for healing. After learning of Yun Che and Shen Xi’s bond, he helps condemn Yun Che, nearly kills Mu Xuanyin, and mobilizes the Western Divine Region to destroy him. Yun Che defeats him by combining greater dragon authority with the powers Long Bai underestimated. (Chapters 1217–1300, 1506–1531, and 1848–1859)

• Mu Xuanyin: Long Bai’s palm appears to kill Mu Xuanyin when she shields Yun Che at the edge of the Primal Chaos. After the Ice Phoenix's nirvana power revives her in the Heavenly Netherfrost Lake, Mu Xuanyin claims the right to finish him and severs his head before his final words can harm Yun Che. • Zhou Xuzi: Long Bai’s authority enables Zhou Xuzi’s persecution of Yun Che after the Evil Infant is expelled. Their later interests converge against the Northern Divine Region, though Zhou Xuzi ultimately arrives as a ruined subordinate rather than an equal partner in Long Bai’s final war.
