Little Demon Empress

The Little Demon Empress, born Huan Caiyi, is the ruler who preserves the Illusory Demon Realm after the deaths of her father and husband leave the Demon Emperor’s line near extinction. She survives a century-long succession struggle, accepts a fatal Golden Crow inheritance to reclaim her throne, and becomes both the realm’s supreme protector and Yun Che’s wife. Her severity is the discipline of someone who has carried a dynasty alone, while her later choices gradually recover the private life hidden beneath the title.

Biography

A century beneath the imperial burden

Caiyi is born into the Demon Emperor’s direct line and once lives openly as Princess Caiyi, wearing bright colors rather than the grey that later defines her reign. She marries the newly enthroned Little Demon Emperor, but he leaves on their wedding night to avenge his father in the Profound Sky Continent and dies before their marriage is consummated. With both men gone and the Demon Emperor’s Seal missing, Caiyi inherits the realm without the Golden Crow Divine Imprint that would have confirmed a full succession. She becomes the first woman to rule the Illusory Demon Realm while hostile Duke Palaces use her sex, childlike appearance, and incomplete ceremony to question her legitimacy. For one hundred years, she governs without allowing grief to become public weakness. She quietly protects the loyal Yun Family where possible, authorizes Yun Qinghong to take the Mirror of Samsara in a desperate attempt to recover the Demon King, and visits him while poison and ruined cultivation keep him from court. At the same time, she must punish the Yun Family for losing the seal because the other Guardian Families and Duke Palaces are steadily transferring their loyalty to Duke Huai. Her severe neutrality is therefore defensive: open favoritism would hasten the coalition forming to depose her. (Chapters 500, 530, and 576–580)

At her Hundred Year Reign Ceremony, Caiyi refuses celebration while her father and husband remain unavenged. She immediately challenges Duke Huai’s altered seating plan, forcing the rebel coalition to acknowledge that only she can reorder the Guardian Families. Yet the ceremony also displays the narrowing space around her rule. Duke Huai has enough allies to turn ritual competition into a political challenge, and Caiyi lacks proof of his father’s deeper conspiracy. Yun Che’s defense of the Yun Family, return of Yun Canghai’s body, and presentation of the Demon Emperor’s Seal restore evidence, loyalty, and dynastic authority she had nearly lost. Betrayal in Golden Crow Lightning Flame Valley

The returned seal gives Caiyi access to Golden Crow Lightning Flame Valley and a possible awakening of her bloodline. She enters knowing the ceremony could restore the power needed to break Duke Huai’s coalition, but the Golden Crow Soul initially rejects her because she is a woman. Duke Huai and Duke Ming follow, revealing that Duke Ming orchestrated the deaths of the former Demon Emperor and Little Demon Emperor and has spent a century building the coup through his son. Caiyi fights Duke Huai from the late fifth level of the Sovereign Profound Realm and proves stronger than him, only for Duke Ming’s superior cultivation to make resistance hopeless. (Chapters 586–595)

Yun Che enters the valley despite knowing he cannot defeat Duke Ming. Caiyi takes a killing blow meant for him, allowing them to escape but leaving her lifeline severed. Her action is not passive martyrdom: she refuses to let a loyal defender die for her dynasty when she can still act, and then continues seeking a path out because her realm would collapse if Duke Huai controlled the succession. Yun Che preserves her remaining vitality inside the Sea of Death for a month, and she refuses to interrupt his rare enlightened cultivation until she can no longer continue. Their mutual protection begins to replace the purely political alliance between ruler and subject. (Chapters 594–604)

At the Golden Crow Ancestral Land, Caiyi learns that her clan’s final measure can raise her to half-step Divine Profound at the cost of certain death three years later. With her family dead, her throne being stolen, and Duke Ming beyond her natural reach, she accepts without hesitation. Because a woman cannot safely bear that ignition alone, the Golden Crow Soul uses Yun Che’s Phoenix vital yang and Dragon God vitality to repair and strengthen her body before granting nine drops of Golden Crow origin blood. Caiyi then masters the first three stages of the Golden Crow’s Record of the Burning World and returns with a life-burning divine imprint that makes revenge possible but sets a fixed limit on her future. Return, vengeance, and reconstruction

Caiyi returns on the day Duke Huai intends to be crowned. The timing lets every major faction see the false succession exposed at its moment of apparent completion. Her half-step divine power kills high-level Monarchs with overwhelming speed, breaks the coup’s military confidence, and forces Duke Huai to answer for the blood shed under his house. She executes him and destroys the central rebel line, while Duke Ming escapes because even her new strength cannot instantly erase every advantage of a prepared tenth-level Sovereign. (Chapters 613–624)

Her first acts after victory are deliberately terrifying. She makes the rebel patriarchs and dukes await judgment, uses death and slave imprints to prevent a second coup, and suppresses the factions that treated a woman’s reign as a temporary weakness. The punishments are cruel, but she does not simply exterminate every compromised family. With Yun Che’s counsel, she distinguishes opportunists who acted after believing her dead from leaders who planned murder and treason, preserving institutions the realm cannot easily replace while making future betrayal nearly impossible. Power does not resolve the price of her inheritance. Caiyi expects to die after three years and initially keeps Yun Che at a distance, believing attachment would leave him only grief and weaken the dignity she owes the dead Little Demon Emperor. Yun Che forces the issue by treating her as Caiyi rather than an office, while she gradually accepts that protecting the Demon Emperor’s line does not require erasing every private desire. She announces their marriage as both continuation of the Golden Crow bloodline and her own choice. On their wedding day she sets aside the grey robes for gold, and a union framed publicly as divine will also becomes the first marriage she enters for herself. (Chapters 628–646)

Duke Ming and Xuanyuan Wentian

Caiyi cannot leave the Illusory Demon Realm while Duke Ming remains at large, so she spends the next phase stabilizing the capital and hunting the last architect of the coup. When he resurfaces, her awakened power reverses the terror he once inspired. She defeats and captures him, completing vengeance for her father, husband, and the century of political decay he engineered. The victory closes the purpose for which she accepted her fatal inheritance, but it leaves her to decide how to live with the remaining time rather than simply how to die for revenge. (Chapters 646, 666, and 668)

Xuanyuan Wentian creates a larger threat by fusing with devil power and pursuing the Mirror of Samsara. Caiyi crosses to the Profound Sky Continent, stands with Yun Che’s family, and fights an enemy capable of matching or exceeding her half-step divine force. She protects Frozen Cloud Asgard and later joins Feng Xue’er in confronting him, repeatedly placing herself between his attacks and people unable to survive their aftershocks. When Yun Che is poisoned, she helps carry out the Phoenix method that saves him rather than allowing rivalry or wounded pride to divide the household in crisis. (Chapters 803–865)

These battles clarify both her strength and its limits. Her Golden Crow flame can overpower the strongest mortal Sovereigns and frighten the Sacred Grounds, but Xuanyuan Wentian’s completed devil transformation can defeat and seriously injure her. She remains composed enough to withdraw, protect others, and coordinate with Xue’er, yet she cannot end the crisis without Yun Che’s later breakthrough. After his victory, she brings the news home and helps restore the realm from wartime footing. (Chapters 839–865 and 919–924)

A life beyond the three-year limit

Yun Che refuses to accept the death promised by the Golden Crow inheritance. His medical master Yun Gu identifies a treatment that separates Caiyi’s life force from the Golden Crow power consuming it, and Su Ling’er applies the yin-based method under his instruction. Caiyi agrees only after Yun Che promises to value his own survival and return from the God Realm within five years. The bargain shows how their relationship has changed: she no longer treats death as an acceptable private cost, and she uses her authority over him to demand the same regard for life. The cure succeeds. Her temporary half-step Divine Profound power falls to the sixth level of the Sovereign Profound Realm, but her life aura becomes independent and stronger, breaking the predicted three-year death. The Golden Crow Soul itself is astonished by the result. Caiyi accepts the loss of transcendent force because it gives her a future as ruler and wife rather than a brief weapon of vengeance. During Yun Che’s years in the God Realm, Caiyi remains one of Blue Pole Star’s principal guardians. She coordinates with Feng Xue’er and Cang Yue when profound beasts begin rampaging, protects both continents from threats ordinary sects cannot face, and receives Yun Che back after the Star God Realm disaster without allowing his lost cultivation to change his place in the family. When divine treasures later raise the household’s cultivation, she enters the Divine Origin Realm and continues guarding the Illusory Demon Realm with power beyond its former mortal ceiling. Emperor Yun’s family

The apparent destruction of Blue Pole Star and Yun Che’s disappearance place Caiyi among those who must endure another long absence without abandoning the life they built. Once Shui Meiyin’s concealment is revealed and Yun Che returns as Emperor Yun, Caiyi resumes her place in the Illusory Demon Realm rather than moving permanently into imperial ceremony. She shares family life with his parents, wives, and daughter, retaining the stubborn independence that made her a ruler before she became his partner. (Chapters 1815, 1883–1890)

When Yun Che prepares to enter the Abyss of Nothingness, he expects Caiyi to oppose a departure whose danger exceeds his earlier journeys. Her anger is the result of repeated broken promises, not an attempt to control his purpose. She forces him to face what another disappearance costs the people who love him, while the family again chooses to support a necessary risk rather than pretend it can be forbidden. By the latest account she remains alive, governs the Illusory Demon Realm, and awaits his return as Huan Caiyi rather than as a ruler whose life belongs only to the dead. Appearance and personality

Caiyi has an exceptionally petite body and a youthful face that makes her appear roughly twelve to fifteen despite being over a century old. Her skin is snow-pale, her features are delicate enough to be compared to carved ice, and her dark eyes can feel like cold blades. During her century of mourning she wears loose grey robes without imperial ornament, deliberately burying the celebrated beauty of Princess Caiyi beneath severity. After awakening, an inextinguishable scarlet-gold Golden Crow mark burns between her brows while the temporary power consumes her life. (Chapters 540, 604, and 613)

Her wedding to Yun Che reveals the appearance she suppressed rather than a new identity. She wears a close-fitted golden dress and phoenix coronet, with light makeup and the colorful radiance associated with her former name. Later she can dress in richer crimson or gold without surrendering the authority once carried by grey. Her small size never makes her childlike in conduct: posture, gaze, voice, and concentrated profound pressure make veteran Monarchs lower their eyes. (Chapters 540 and 644)

Caiyi is disciplined, perceptive, proud, and capable of frightening ruthlessness. She reads political symbols immediately, remembers both loyalty and betrayal across decades, and accepts costs to herself that she would not impose casually on the realm. Her coldness often conceals care: she protects the Yun Family within political limits, takes Duke Ming’s strike for Yun Che, preserves Yun Che’s cultivation trance while dying, and later demands that he remember everyone harmed by his recklessness. Her chief flaw is the belief that duty justifies erasing her private self. Revenge makes her willing to burn away her lifespan, while dynastic dignity makes her deny love she plainly feels. Yun Che’s refusal to address only the title helps her recover Caiyi, but it does not soften her into passivity. She remains quick-tempered, blunt, and independent enough that even Emperor Yun approaches her after a long absence with caution. (Chapters 605–646, 1888–1890, and 1970)

Abilities and cultivation

Demon Emperor bloodline and profound cultivation

Caiyi inherits the Golden Crow bloodline of the Illusory Demon Royal Family and reaches the fifth level of the Sovereign Profound Realm before fully awakening it. Even at that stage she suppresses Duke Huai and ranks among the strongest people in the Illusory Demon Realm, though Duke Ming’s tenth-level Sovereign cultivation remains beyond her. Her command of ordinary Golden Crow flame includes high-speed flight, concentrated blasts, broad seas of fire, and bloodline pressure against other royal descendants. (Chapters 586–595)

The clan’s bloodline also links rulership to the Demon Emperor’s Seal and the Golden Crow Ancestral Land. Without the seal, Caiyi cannot complete the traditional awakening or open the valley freely; this political and mechanical dependency is why its loss weakens her succession. Recovering it grants access, but the Golden Crow Soul still controls whether an inheritance is bestowed. Her birth therefore supplies qualification, not automatic mastery. Life-burning Golden Crow inheritance

The Golden Crow Soul grants Caiyi nine drops of origin blood after Yun Che’s Dragon God and Phoenix vitality repairs her severed lifeline and strengthens her body. It then ignites the total power of her lineage, raising her from Sovereign Profound to half-step Divine Profound in a matter of months. A scarlet-gold brow mark visibly ties the state to her life force: when the stored bloodline power ends after three years, her life is meant to end with it. (Chapters 605–613)

This temporary state gives her force beyond the recognized mortal limit. She can kill low- and mid-level Monarchs almost instantly, destroy vast areas with Golden Crow flame, and overwhelm the Illusory Demon Realm’s former apex. It does not make her a complete god. Duke Ming can escape, Xuanyuan Wentian’s devil transformation can defeat her, and repeated full-power combat causes severe exhaustion and injury. After Yun Gu and Su Ling’er separate her life force from the burning inheritance, the half-step divine state ends and her cultivation settles at sixth-level Sovereign, exchanging unmatched short-term power for survival. Golden Crow’s Record of the Burning World

Caiyi must master the first three stages of the Golden Crow’s Record before the Golden Crow Secret Realm will release her. The art channels her awakened bloodline into scarlet-gold divine flame whose heat, destructive force, and spiritual pressure surpass the ordinary royal flame she used before. Representative uses include annihilating Duke Huai’s defenders, severing high-level Monarchs’ confidence with single attacks, and contesting Xuanyuan Wentian’s darkness over Frozen Cloud Asgard. The art favors overwhelming offense and wide-area destruction, making it dangerous around allies and fragile terrain. Caiyi therefore combines it with precise control, barriers, and physical interception when defending the Yun household. Bloodline flame also interacts strongly with other divine inheritances: she can stabilize and cooperate with Feng Xue’er’s Phoenix power, but neither flame lineage by itself can casually erase a higher completed divine state. Rule, judgment, and soul imprints

Caiyi’s abilities are not limited to combat. A century of ruling under organized opposition makes her adept at reading factional loyalties, controlling a hostile court, and using ceremony as a field of political confrontation. After regaining power, she calibrates executions, pardons, and institutional preservation to prevent immediate collapse. This judgment is harsh but not indiscriminate. (Chapters 540–580 and 624–633)

She can implant slave imprints in defeated rebels, forcing loyalty so deeply that the marked person will defend her interests even without supervision. The technique solves the immediate danger posed by treacherous patriarchs while violating their autonomy, which is why such imprints are treated as cruel and forbidden in ordinary profound society. Its demonstrated use is political control rather than an attack she applies freely in battle. (Chapters 632 and 1482)

Latest state

After the medical separation of life force and Golden Crow power, Caiyi survives at sixth-level Sovereign Profound Realm. Yun Che later gives her Divine Water of Life and Dragon Dawn Jade Nectar, raising her directly into the Divine Origin Realm along with the other members of his lower-realm family. No later numbered level is established. By the latest account, she retains her Golden Crow arts and divine-way cultivation without the former three-year death condition. (Chapters 944 and 1396)

• Duke Huai: Duke Huai exploits the missing seal and prejudice against a female ruler to build a rival court.
