About the novel

Jack Rust begins as a biologist who has followed a stable, conventional path but feels trapped by it. When the Integration transforms Earth and the Immortal System appears, he is frightened by the upheaval yet drawn to the chance to test himself in a world where strength can be built and measured. The System gives him no spellcasting gift; Jack chooses a direct fighting path and studies its rules with the same curiosity he once brought to biology.

His first struggle is survival in a forest dungeon, but his choices soon draw other people and creatures into a growing brotherhood. The story widens from local monster conflicts to Earth’s factions, interstellar travel, and the cultivation powers governing the wider universe. Jack’s pursuit of mastery increasingly depends on whether he can protect the companions and communities that have chosen to stand beside him.

World and the System

The Integration reshapes Earth with dungeons, new resources, monsters, and locations that did not exist before. The System assigns species, levels, attributes, grades, classes, and skills, while its dungeons and rewards turn survival into a contest over resources and advancement. Earth is only one world among many, and powerful organizations and factions compete to guide new cultivators or control the planets entering System space.

Cultivation grows alongside the System’s visible measurements. Characters develop Dao Roots and Seeds, then pursue increasingly personal forms of mastery; Jack’s own path grows from a fist-based Dao into a wider structure that changes his abilities and the scale of his inner world. Progress requires more than accumulating levels: cultivation insights, compatible resources, and personal understanding shape breakthroughs. Species and individual paths differ, so Brock’s brorilla growth and the human class system do not fit one identical ladder. These overlapping systems make each rise in power a choice about how to fight, whom to trust, and what a cultivator owes the people affected by that strength.
