Captain Dordok

Captain Dordok is the veteran captain of the starship Trampling Ram, a protective leader whose crew loyalty is tested when Jack Rust’s hidden identity brings the ship into conflict with the Animal Kingdom. (Chapters 110–121, 250, 278–280, 315, 463, 552)

Biography

Captain of the Trampling Ram

Dordok meets Jack while hiring for his crew, testing him through a brawl before offering him a place aboard the Trampling Ram. Gruff and seemingly lazy, he is also perceptive: he requires Jack to reveal his Dao before joining and expects the crew to test newcomers. His ship and his responsibilities matter deeply to him. Dordok grew up sailing the seas of his home planet and still misses the wind and open water; becoming an immortal is his greatest regret, even as space travel offers sights no planet could. He treats the ship as something made good through centuries of shared travel and repair, not simply through purchase. (Chapters 110–112)

As captain, Dordok balances care with clear limits. He trains Bomn to become first mate and successor, expects the crew to respond immediately when danger arises, and respects Jack’s privacy despite having the senses to listen in. When Jack’s secret puts the ship in danger, Dordok says the crew will not abandon him, but warns that their help cannot extend to suicide against a stronger faction. His judgment is tested when a horde of space monsters attacks: Dordok directs the crew’s defense and personally holds off a D-Grade monster while the Trampling Ram escapes. The crew survives, though several are injured. (Chapters 115–120)

That responsibility becomes personal when the Animal Kingdom’s Hounds arrive. Dordok orders Jack and Brock to escape in a shuttle while he stays behind to delay the hunters and protect the rest of the crew. He tries to negotiate using the crew’s legal protections, but he is already injured and exhausted from the space-monster battle. The Hounds defeat him and take him to Hell; the Trampling Ram warps away with most of the crew. Jack later blames himself for the danger, but the capture follows the Hounds’ attack on a crew that was already wounded. (Chapters 121, 123, 226, 250)

Captive in Hell and the captain’s return

Jack makes finding Dordok part of his effort to repair the harm caused by his flight. The rescue is dangerous: Hell’s prison is controlled by the Warden, and even reaching it could expose Jack and Shol to powerful Animal Kingdom enforcers. After months of planning and cultivation, Jack and Shol find Dordok fighting four late D-Grade cultivators. The Warden’s influence has distorted his perception; Dordok mistakes Jack for an illusion and attacks him. Jack and Shol free him from that influence, after which Dordok recognizes his former crewmate and immediately joins the fight. (Chapters 266, 276–279)

The reunion reveals what Dordok cared about during his captivity. Before asking how Jack got so strong or who Shol is, he asks whether the Trampling Ram and crew survived. He learns that Achilles died after Jack left and that Bomn has taken care of the others. Dordok accepts Bomn as the one who can carry his mantle, then helps Jack and Shol fight their way out. Though Maximus overwhelms him and the Sage carries his unconscious body from the battlefield, the allies eventually free him and escape Hell. Dordok’s gratitude toward Jack is personal: Jack risked himself because Dordok had once risked his life for a stranger. (Chapters 280–303)

A retired captain among old allies

Dordok returns to the conflict with the Animal Kingdom alongside the surviving Trampling Ram crew. He fights the faction that captured him and supports the wider alliance, while Bomn increasingly speaks for the ship. By the time Jack checks on the crew after battle, Dordok is described as the former captain; Bomn has taken responsibility for the Trampling Ram. Dordok remains close to the group and is present for Jack and Vivi’s family milestones. (Chapters 315, 323–325, 355)

After Jack returns years later, Dordok again stands with his old allies. He reunites with Jack’s group, offers support in their battles, and is among the friends present when they are believed to be dead. By the time he settles on Earth, he has spent his life traveling the galaxy and decides that a stable life may suit him. He is open to teaching a new generation. His later appearance at Jack’s banquet confirms he remains alive and part of the group’s circle. (Chapters 443, 463, 552)

Appearance and personality

Dordok is a large, orange-skinned cyclops with one eye and a gruff voice. His size makes an ordinary cup look tiny in his hand, and he wields a steel greatclub. His expression can shift from a broad, playful smile to a captain’s hard, commanding stare. (Chapters 110–111, 117–118, 463)

He is warm beneath a blunt and sometimes teasing manner. His attachment to sailing and the Trampling Ram reflects a preference for open space and travel over a settled life, while his regret at becoming immortal suggests that greater power came with a personal cost. He protects his crew without claiming that loyalty means they must accept every risk; he teaches Bomn to succeed him and recognizes when retreat is wiser than dying in a hopeless fight. (Chapters 111, 117–121, 280)

Abilities and cultivation

Dordok is an immortal cultivator and a high D-Grade fighter. His combat role centers on overwhelming physical force, a Dao Domain that reinforces strength, and his steel greatclub. He can also project his senses over long distances, communicate through them, fly, and use Dao power to levitate another person. (Chapters 115–120, 278–279)

Greatclub and strength-focused Dao Domain

Dordok’s Domain manifests as formless strength, compared to the force of a thousand elephants. When it clashes with Maximus Lonihor’s supremacy, Dordok’s power helps resist the pressure alongside Jack and Shol. In combat, he swings his greatclub with enough force to create heavy shockwaves and break through opponents’ defenses. He strikes a D-Grade space monster of comparable strength, later overwhelms a rival cyclops with a blow that sends him crashing into the ground, and uses the club to smash through Animal Kingdom troops during the escape from Hell. He calls one heavy attack Devastating Strike, though its mechanics beyond the forceful blow are unknown. (Chapters 119, 278–279, 291, 293)

His strength does not remove tactical weaknesses. Dordok is slower than Jack, Shol, and other fighters he travels with, cannot teleport on his own, and struggles against a faster opponent who can appear around him from multiple directions. He can be badly injured by equal-tier or stronger enemies; against Sapasun, Dordok’s shoulder and back are repeatedly damaged, and he is eventually defeated. His durability allows him to keep fighting, but he sometimes relies on Shol’s healing or the Sage’s assistance. (Chapters 279, 293–295)

Senses and captain’s skills

As an immortal, Dordok can extend his senses across the ship and communicate over a distance without a speaker. He deliberately limits that reach to respect the crew’s privacy. He can also use Dao power to lift someone and fly with them, as when he carries Jack to safety after the space-monster battle. The extent and duration of these abilities are unknown. (Chapters 115–116, 120)

Dordok is an experienced ship captain, not simply a powerful fighter. He commands the Trampling Ram under pressure, assigns roles according to each crew member’s strengths, and prepares Bomn to take over. His explanation of space warping comes from a wizard he once asked; Dordok knows the broad principle but admits that he does not fully understand how the process works. (Chapters 112, 117–118)

Relationships

  • Jack Rust: Hires Jack as a crew member, protects him when the Animal Kingdom’s Hounds arrive, and is later rescued by him from Hell. Their relationship develops from captain and recruit into mutual trust and friendship. (Chapters 110–121, 250, 278–280)
  • Bomn: His first mate and chosen successor. Dordok trains Bomn to earn the crew’s trust and later accepts him as the captain who can carry on the Trampling Ram’s legacy. (Chapters 117, 280, 315, 323)
  • Trampling Ram crew: Dordok regards the crew as his responsibility and risks his life to let them escape. He urges them to retreat from the Hounds so they can survive and eventually return, rather than mistake loyalty for suicide. (Chapters 115, 120–123)
