Overgeared

About the novel

Overgeared begins with Shin Youngwoo, an indebted player whose frustration and poor reputation follow him into the virtual-reality game Satisfy. Discovering Pagma's Rare Book changes his class to Pagma's Descendant and gives him the potential to become a legendary blacksmith. The class offers opportunity rather than instant success: Grid must overcome penalties, difficult production, and his own habit of treating every relationship as a transaction.

Craftsmanship brings Grid allies, territory, and recognition that combat alone could not secure. The Overgeared Guild becomes a kingdom and then a central power whose residents are not disposable non-player characters to him. Wars involving empires, great demons, gods, dragons, and threats beyond Satisfy's apparent boundaries transform his desire for financial security into an obligation to protect two connected worlds.

World and classes

Satisfy uses levels, stats, skills, classes, titles, quests, equipment, and reputation, but legendary accomplishments can create new paths that the original system did not predetermine. Combat classes gain visible attention, while production classes influence the quality and distribution of the equipment on which armies and economies depend. Grid's blacksmithing turns materials, design, and accumulated understanding into items capable of changing both individual battles and national power.

Players share the world with residents whose histories, loyalties, and development are genuine within the setting. Kingdoms, churches, demonic domains, the East Continent, Asgard, and dragon territories each operate under different authorities. Legends, myths, divinity, status, and transcendence extend advancement beyond ordinary levels, while Grid's growth increasingly depends on the people and stories gathered around the Overgeared name.
