God Hands

The God Hands is the collective name for autonomous golden hands designed and forged by Grid from pavranium after he inherits an unrealized concept from Pagma. They combine legendary-level dexterity with independent movement, equipment handling, and automatic defense, and later multiply into a force numbering more than fourteen thousand. (Chapters 320, 604, 1260, 1841, and 2058)

History

Pagma's unfinished design and Grid's first hands

Pagma conceived hands that could reproduce a legendary blacksmith's dexterity, but age prevented him from completing them. When Grid reaches the same idea, a class quest asks him to exceed Pagma's unfinished work. Grid studies the human hand, draws a design resembling his own, smelts the limited pavranium, and forges the first golden hands with a complex articulated structure. (Chapter 320)

Combat deployment and mass expansion

The God Hands become recurring extensions of Grid's inventory and combat system. He arms them with separate magic battle gear, uses them to pressure opponents, and relies on their autonomous reaction to block attacks even when he remains still. They can also be transformed into larger equipment and later revert to hand form, showing that their shape is functional rather than fixed. (Chapters 451, 604, 963, and 1260)

Their scale grows with the supply of Greed. Thirty accompany Grid and his summons in one deployment; hundreds later assemble and return their carried swords and shields to his inventory. By Chapter 2058, Grid has created 13,783 additional hands and weaves more than fourteen thousand of them into dragon-sized wings. (Chapters 1481, 1841, and 2058)

Abilities and properties

  • Autonomous movement and defense: The hands can leave Grid's inventory and intercept a threat without a visible manual command. They also gather on order and independently return their equipment. (Chapters 1260 and 1841)
  • Legendary dexterity: Pagma's design goal is a set of hands able to demonstrate dexterity equivalent to a legendary blacksmith. Grid realizes that design in pavranium rather than merely reproducing an ordinary prosthetic hand. (Chapter 320)
  • Independent equipment use: Grid distributes magic battle gear among the hands, allowing them to carry swords, shields, or other equipment as separate mobile units. (Chapters 604 and 1841)
  • Transformation and formation: A God Hand can participate in Item Transformation, and large numbers can be arranged into structures such as enormous wings. (Chapters 963 and 2058)
  • Mechanical limits: The hands can be struck, knocked away, and subjected to rigidity by an enemy's explosion. Their autonomy does not make them immune to crowd-control effects or damage. (Chapter 766)

Ownership and custody

Holder or custodianRelationship to the item
GridDesigner, maker, owner, and sole documented controller. He stores the God Hands in his inventory, equips them from his own armory, and expands their number as Greed multiplies. Temporary transformations and deployments do not constitute a permanent transfer. (Chapters 320, 604, 963, 1260, 1841, and 2058)
