Falling Moon Sword
The Falling Moon Sword is a myth-rated weapon Grid forged from moon night iron to cut concepts and bypass nearly every ordinary defensive response at the cost of a strict ten-minute interval between swings. (Chapter 1416)
History
Forging a conceptual blade
Grid tempers moon night iron for twenty-three days and nights to make the Falling Moon Sword. Its design converts his unusually broad total statistics—including normally noncombat statistics—into damage. Although the blade has only one listed attack power, its conceptual cutting rule and damage formula make it a secret weapon tailored specifically to Grid. (Chapter 1416)
Decisive deployments
Grid initially reserves it for decisive situations. He considers using it to behead gathered yangbans, later links it with Item Combination to knock down Galgunos, and recognizes it could cut a curtain of sword energy. He refuses wasteful use against that curtain because the sword has already been consumed for the relevant interval and because doing so would undermine Biban's containment work. (Chapters 1437, 1454, and 1503)
The blade cuts Mir badly enough to provoke a survival response, yet Grid later admits it cannot be his only answer to Zeratul because its total damage and use frequency remain limited. During the fight with the Specter, it appears alongside Grid's sword dances and Undefeated King's Swordsmanship as one expression of qualifications he earned through repeated effort. (Chapters 1528, 1711, and 1755)
Super galaxy treasure
Later cultivation-era terminology classifies the Falling Moon Sword as one of two super galaxy treasures. Grid continues using it for decisive cuts, including splitting a powerful opponent vertically and slashing Asura after other attacks have already severely wounded him. Those outcomes demonstrate late relevance but should not be read as the sword single-handedly causing every preceding wound. (Chapters 1984, 1996, and 2051)
Abilities and properties
- The sword has myth rating, infinite durability, one attack power, a weight of 500, and Grid as its sole listed eligible user. (Chapter 1416)
- A successful swing must cut the target, ignoring defense, evasion, counterattacks, reflection, damage reduction, damage immunity, and similar effects. The attack is always critical, removes the target's buffs, and prevents new buffs for three minutes. (Chapter 1416)
- Damage is calculated from the sum of Grid's statistics multiplied by the target's level, allowing normally noncombat stats to contribute. (Chapter 1416)
- It can be swung only once every ten minutes. That consumption window and a finite damage ceiling make it unsuitable as Grid's sole sustained weapon against durable gods or repeated threats. (Chapters 1416, 1503, and 1711)
- Item Combination can link it with another weapon or attack sequence, but the resulting total performance depends on Grid's item skill and surrounding conditions. (Chapter 1454)
Ownership and custody
| Holder or custodian | Relationship to the item |
|---|---|
| Grid | Forges the sword, is its only listed qualified user, and remains its documented wielder through the latest appearance; no lasting transfer or alternate owner is established. (Chapters 1416, 1437, 1755, 1996, and 2051) |
