Doran's Ring

The Doran's Ring is a unique, unrestricted protective ring formerly treasured by Doran and awarded to Grid for escorting Irene, providing health, resistances, abnormal-condition cleansing, and periodic damage recovery. (Chapter 92)

History

Irene's escort reward

The ring is offered as a reward for safely escorting Irene to Winston Castle. Its description identifies it as a treasure loved by Doran, Earl Steim's shadow warrior, and associates it with the favor of the goddess of health and wisdom. Grid values it immediately because its unusually strong effects have no usage condition. (Chapter 92)

Defensive deployment

The ring becomes part of Grid's defensive preparation. Its recovery triggers in battle, and Grid learns to equip it before expected damage rather than leave the slot unused. Against Elfin Stone, even Doran's Ring plus a supreme health potion cannot restore health as quickly as repeated explosions remove it, demonstrating that its recovery is powerful but finite. (Chapters 143, 200, and 300)

Grid later combines the ring with vampire equipment and wears it secretly or preemptively against Hao and other dangerous opponents. He does not keep it equipped at every moment; by chapter 857 he lists it among the rings worn according to circumstances, unlike two rings he treats as permanent equipment. (Chapters 363, 451, 691, and 857)

Continuing situational use

The effect remains relevant far into the story. It activates again in chapter 1422, and Grid still considers timing it immediately before immortality expires during the later fight involving Garam's Annihilation sword. The conditional plan demonstrates continuing custody and utility without proving that the ring alone can overcome effects designed to remove recovery passives. (Chapters 1422 and 2012)

Abilities and properties

• The ring has unique rating, ten durability, negligible weight, no usage condition, 1,000 health, ten percent black-magic resistance, and ten percent poison resistance. (Chapter 92)
• It immediately cures poison or curse with a sixty-minute cooldown. (Chapter 92)
• It instantly recovers fifty percent of damage received when the effect activates, followed by a ten-minute cooldown. This is damage recovery, not immunity to the original hit. (Chapter 92)
• Recovery can be overwhelmed by sustained incoming damage, and effective use often depends on equipping the ring before a predicted burst or near the end of immortality. (Chapters 200, 300, 691, and 2012)
