Grid's Twilight

The Grid's Twilight is a myth-rated growth sword that Grid forged from a fang of the evil dragon Bunhelier, combining extreme physical performance with darkness, concealment, defense negation, and the ability to bind other powers. (Chapter 1681)

History

Forging Grid's old-dragon sword

Grid made the sword from Bunhelier's fang and the divinity of the Overgeared World. Because the fang was already complete as a material, he omitted his usual folding process; the resulting weapon also contained Greed. Its conditions of use identify Grid, a Dragon Slayer, or a Dragon Knight as eligible wielders. (Chapter 1681) (Chapter 1732)

Testing and later battles

During his first detailed tests, Grid confirmed that the sword could produce chained shockwaves and release powers it held, including a spear of light and seven meteors. It remained one of his principal swords afterward, including in confrontations involving the Specter of the No Offspring Tomb and Raphael. (Chapter 1732) (Chapter 1756) (Chapter 1788)

Some of Twilight's effects were sealed inside Hayate's Dragon's Tomb, demonstrating that even its broad powers can be constrained by a sufficiently strong mental world. Abilities and properties

• Twilight has infinite durability and unusually high attack power. It accelerates attack skills, greatly increases their power, and grants an absolute-hit benefit. (Chapter 1681)
• Its attacks can inflict blindness, while successful blocks can induce bewitchment. It also has a high chance to neutralize defensive abilities, magic, and other powers. (Chapter 1681)
• It deals additional damage to demons, archangels, gods, and dragons, and substantially strengthens dark-attribute attacks. In bright surroundings it can also conceal itself, making the wielder's attack difficult to perceive. (Chapter 1681)
• The sword can bind as many as three spells or skills, though binding can fail. Grid's test release of stored phenomena shows that this is an active combat function rather than merely storage. (Chapter 1681) (Chapter 1732)
• Its divinity can oppose other divine power, but the weapon's effects are not immune to environmental suppression or the rules of a stronger mental world. (Chapter 1756) (Chapter 1812)
