Bom

Bom is the name given by Yu Jitae to the dragon who joins his household as the eldest of four apparent hatchlings. Although she presents herself as a green dragon, she is eventually revealed as Theta, the eighth daughter of Lugiathan, with both green- and black-dragon blood. Her foresight, magical talent, attachment to the younger dragons, and conflicted love for Jitae place her at the center of both his recovered daily life and the hostility pursuing him across regressions.

Biography

The Green Hatchling and Unit 301

Bom meets Jitae in Firenze while posing as a twenty-year-old green hatchling on her first Amusement. She recognizes that he is unusually dangerous, reads the course of Providence, and agrees to live under his protection after obtaining his promise not to harm her if she obeys. Jitae gives her the human name Yu Bom, which she accepts as genuinely hers. Much later, her apparent submission is recontextualized: the roughly seven-hundred-year-old Theta had entered the Amusement under a false lineage and was already pursuing both her mother's Grand Schema and revenge against him. (Chapters 2–3, 399–400)

Once inside Unit 301, Bom acts as the household's social stabilizer. She heals Yeorum with nature magic, reassures Jitae that she will handle the wounded red dragon, and helps the newly gathered dragons accept their names and hierarchy. Because she has travelled more widely and empathizes readily with other lives, she understands what the girls need from their Amusement and draws the withdrawn Yeorum into shared activities. She also advocates for Kaeul, patiently negotiating Jitae down from refusing an entertainment audition to allowing a single attempt. (Chapters 7–8, 19–20)

Bom's care becomes costly when Gyeoul hatches without knowing how to assume human form. She uses Magic Transference for four days, directly imparting magical theory and the structure of polymorph at the price of her own life force and mana. The transfer leaves her feverish and weak, but it lets Gyeoul enter the household as a child rather than remain exposed as a dragon. Soon afterward Bom's missing protector, Protector, reaches Earth; Jitae breaks the creature's enforced servitude while preserving its loyalty, giving Bom another family bond beyond the four dragons. Foresight Against the Abyss

Bom's reading of Providence becomes operationally important when Jitae moves against the demon attached to Ha Saetbyul. Although she wants to accompany him, she accepts his refusal and instead entrusts him with Arma's Longsword, her protector's weapon, because she has foreseen that it will be needed. The sword reacts to hostility beyond the world's timeline and tries to kill Saetbyul, forcing Jitae to restrain it; Bom's intervention nevertheless helps place him where he can separate Saetbyul from the demon rather than simply destroy her. (Chapters 47–50)

When the disaster demon Hasegawa hides behind music, immortality, and puppet bodies, Bom accompanies Jitae in disguise and locates the target through Laws of Nature. She determines that the demon's music is the foundation of his power, then uses Dragon's Voice to halt the puppets and force Hasegawa into Providence. That command prevents his physical vessel from regenerating and creates the opening for Jitae to kill him. Her calm analysis and support establish that she is not merely a seer but a mage able to turn abstract information into decisive battlefield control. (Chapters 60–62)

Bom's protective instincts extend beyond strategic necessity. She uses Restoration to save Chirpy after the spirit beast is injured, and during the Masquerade dungeon she reconstructs the principle behind Li Hwa's telekinesis with Frivoa pollen and Dragon's Voice. When Ysayle's duplicate self-destructs, Bom relies on a prepared Guard Memorising trigger to escape but still returns for Li Hwa, teleporting the elderly woman out at personal risk. Jitae later rebukes Bom for exposing herself, making clear that her willingness to protect others can outrun even her careful calculations. (Chapters 70–72, 79, 83)

Family, Restraint, and Growing Affection

As daily life settles, Bom increasingly occupies a maternal position toward Gyeoul and a teasing, almost domestic position beside Jitae. She limits Gyeoul's gummies, explains why happiness obtained too easily can become unreliable, and supplies firm guidance about shedding, including the hatchling's vulnerability and need for the proper environment. At the same time, her private Observation Diary and attempts to provoke Jitae during their study of horror reveal that her interest in him has moved beyond detached observation. She still controls her expression, but deliberate proximity and playful tests expose a growing wish to be treated differently from her younger sisters. (Chapters 125, 130–134)

That wish becomes unavoidable during a plague dispatch. The arrival of Great Hostility obscures Bom's Eye of Providence, removing the future-sight she has relied on since birth and leaving her anxious, indecisive, and ashamed of being unable to lead. Jitae takes her to Vintage Clock's workshop, where the authority regulates the intruding hostility into Providence; by synchronizing through contact with Jitae, Bom sees the future again. The temporary blindness changes her emotional position, because she can no longer treat his affection as a safe predetermined result, and she admits that she wants all of it for herself. (Chapters 158–164)

Bom's possessiveness then collides with the household's unresolved violence. Yeorum stages suggestive physical contact with Jitae to test whether Bom loves him, and Bom's jealousy escalates until sharp objects repeatedly draw her attention. When she reveals a dream of captivity, Jitae connects it to his concealed history of imprisoning and dissecting dragons in earlier iterations and pushes her away out of guilt and fear. Bom leaves Unit 301 for a time, while Yeorum's later condemnation of Jitae turns the sisters' provocation into a rupture that exposes how deeply Bom's affection is entangled with wounds neither of them yet understands. Even amid that rupture, Bom remains responsible for the younger dragons' growth. When Kaeul's uncontrolled healing kills a chimera, Bom teaches her Magic Bullet, Magic Arrow, Barrier, Blink, and lightning enchantment, then imposes a severe regimen requiring simultaneous defense, attack, and dimensional movement. Kaeul reaches the combination in ten days, demonstrating both Bom's exceptional grasp of mana theory and the purpose beneath her harshness. Later, after Jitae supports Bom's prize-winning writing and film opportunity, she breaks down over his meal with another woman; Li Hwa's counsel helps her act honestly, and Bom kisses him, forcing both to acknowledge the romance that caution had kept indirect. (Chapters 216–243)

Jitae subsequently tries to confront the emotion obelisks beneath Vintage Clock so that memories of his atrocities will extinguish his attachment to the household. Bom's love is therefore developing beside a danger she cannot fully name: he believes knowledge of his past will destroy their bond, while she wants greater intimacy and certainty. The younger dragons prevent him from isolating himself, and the family remains together, but the episode leaves Bom and Jitae with an unstable compromise—mutual love without a full account of the regressions that created both his guilt and her concealed revenge. Soothsayer of the Association

As the Long Night approaches, Bom adopts the operational identity Haru and enters the Association as the public Soothsayer behind Prophet Season. Jitae warns that believable foresight would make her appear almost divine, so she cultivates dignity while he treats her as a figure of exceptional authority. Her predictions support the Association's planning while also giving Jitae a reason to move through its command structure and identify people linked to Q. The role asks Bom to convert a private, largely involuntary sense into institutional power without revealing either her draconic identity or the household's true purpose. (Chapters 285–290)

The Association also forces Bom to see the difference between Jitae's domestic manner and his public self. When protesters block their arrival, he knocks down an aggressor and drives through the crowd's threat without hesitation; Bom is surprised but calls the display refreshing rather than recoiling. She then performs the Soothsayer's authority before people whose survival depends on her words. This experience broadens her role from elder sister inside Unit 301 to a strategic figure whose composure must hold under worldwide scrutiny, while her private trust in Jitae remains the foundation of the performance. Bom later uses that public role to manage her jealousy with more restraint than before. She deliberately befriends women around Jitae's office, attends their dinner, and shifts from the distant Haru persona to carefully visible affection for Season, allowing onlookers to infer that they are lovers. The maneuver quietly discourages rivals without attacking anyone or sacrificing her authority. Jitae recognizes both the selfish motive and the sophistication of her control, plays along by letting her rest on his shoulder, and experiences her presence as the comfort of Unit 301 even in the Association. Separation and the Grand Schema

Bom's old belief that she is fundamentally unlucky surfaces when Yeorum asks her to continue opening an Onion Core after Gyeoul's first success. Each improbable success frightens her more, because she interprets the accumulated good fortune as a debt that will be repaid by catastrophe. Bom opens five consecutive layers, leaving six open in total and bringing the core close to three times its starting output. The episode exposes a fatalistic anxiety beneath her calm manner; her later discovery of Jitae supporting the black-haired Myu, combined with his secrecy about the captive dragon, turns that anxiety into renewed jealousy and suspicion. (Chapters 314–320, 328)

Bom and Jitae nevertheless take a private holiday and deepen their physical and emotional intimacy. That peace becomes tragic after Bom learns the end of Jitae's plan: once the dragons return home in the Dimensional Cruise, he intends to die. She helps make the farewells seem natural even while urging him to be honest with the others, and during their last private night briefly takes control of the cruise's Ignition Key by synchronizing her mana with the ship. She ultimately accepts his stated wish and promises to keep living, but asks him to remember their happiness when he dies. (Chapters 325–335, 375–386)

Inside the cruise, Bom's concealed identity and revenge finally surface. Her black hair, purple-black eyes, Alteration field, poisoned tentacles, and Magic Ballista reveal that she is Theta, Lugiathan's eighth daughter and the Great Hostility acting from beyond Providence. She explains that she witnessed Jitae attack her family through 170 regressions and permanently kill her mother in the sixth iteration. Her plan was to make him love life, murder the three hatchlings he treasured, and leave him with an unforgettable loss; yet the real affection formed during Unit 301 prevents her from killing Yeorum, Kaeul, or Gyeoul. (Chapters 398–403)

Jitae refuses to dismiss their shared life as false and asks Bom to live, let him atone, and build a family with him. Unable either to complete her revenge or accept a future beside her mother's killer, Bom releases Gyeoul and turns the ballista on herself. Her suicide lights the final emotion obelisk, allowing Jitae to use a restrictive transcendent authority to enter a parallel sixth-iteration past. There he wins the trust of Bom's younger self, protects Lugiathan and Myu from his former self, and changes the causal history that created Hostility; the revised memories reach adult Bom, erasing the timeline in which she died. After returning to Askalifa, Bom is subjected to Lugiathan and twelve vengeful spirits who demand that she complete the black race's plan to reclaim a place in Askalifa. She fights the quons for centuries, commands multiple armies without sleep, tracks a great warrior through the ancient forest for seventy-one years despite mutilation, and becomes a candidate for Dragon Lord. The cost is catastrophic: stimulant use, permanent sensory and bodily damage, a disabled arm, and infertility. She also avoids her sisters for centuries, hurting them to preserve the deception that her loyalty belongs only to the racial Grand Schema. (Chapters 419, 422–423)

At her coronation, Bom reveals that the apparent racial plan has hidden her own Grand Schema. She deceives Lugiathan, reunites with Yeorum, Kaeul, and Gyeoul, tells them the truth about Jitae, and uses the Dragon Lord's Oath through Dragon's Origin and its Origin Fragments to return them to their happiest days. She sacrifices the Demonic Sword of Grief and divides off a small fragment of her soul, shaping it into the white bird that will accompany Jitae's lonely youth as friend, teacher, lover, and family. The main part of her soul returns with the dragons and finally draws Jitae out of Primal Time. (Chapters 423–425)

A New Spring

Bom reunites with Jitae in a restored world and identifies herself simply as “your Bom,” preserving the human name that began their daily life despite the truth of Theta and Tue-Ru-Bomana. Unit 301 gradually reforms around them, now without the concealment that made their earlier happiness fragile. Bom and Jitae openly recognize each other as lovers, while her bonds with Yeorum, Kaeul, and Gyeoul again take the form of an affectionate, frequently teasing family rather than hostages in a revenge plan or sacrifices demanded by the vengeful spirits. (Chapters 425–430)

The restored happiness does not immediately erase Bom's scars. She explains that she endured roughly a thousand years to bring Jitae back, and both of them show anxiety when life moves beyond the future she once saw. Her hair's return to green becomes entangled with fear that he may reject the identity associated with her earlier disguise, while Jitae recognizes a version of his own post-traumatic unease in her. Their relationship develops by naming that fear instead of trying to control the future through Providence, secrecy, or self-brainwashing. (Chapters 431–434)

Bom finally confesses that the injuries sustained during her path to the Dragon Lord destroyed her ability to bear children, a loss she had hidden because she feared becoming unlovable. Unlike her earlier crises, she does not construct a deception or force an outcome; she tells Jitae the truth and asks whether he will still accept her. He answers with a proposal, and Bom accepts through tears. By choosing trust even beyond what her Eye of Providence has shown, she turns their relationship from a plan built on revenge into a freely chosen future. (Chapters 433–434)

Appearance and personality

Bom's usual human form has grass- or olive-green hair, matching green eyes, pale skin, and a delicate beauty repeatedly described as beyond ordinary humans. Her expression is typically calm, indifferent, or difficult to read, giving her a noble and mysterious appearance. Polymorph lets her alter hair, eyes, and facial details; she uses a black-haired disguise on missions, while her true black-dragon aspect is marked by black hair, dark or faintly purple eyes, and large jet-black wings in dragonite form. Her green appearance is not wholly false, however, because her body and powers genuinely come from both lineages. (Chapters 2–3, 60, 398–400)

She is analytical, patient, and unusually deliberate. Bom prefers to observe before acting, records Jitae's behavior in a private diary, and can manipulate a social situation without making her intent explicit. That composure coexists with mischievous teasing, tenderness toward small lives, and a maternal firmness with Gyeoul. It also conceals severe possessiveness: uncertainty and jealousy can make her controlling or violent, while her reliance on Providence initially encourages her to treat outcomes as fixed. Her strongest development is not becoming less intelligent or less calculating, but learning to disclose fear and choose relationships without guaranteeing their result. Bom's later revelation complicates nearly every early impression. She is capable of sustained deception, self-brainwashing, and a revenge plan spanning regressions, yet the affection she develops through shared meals, caregiving, and conflict becomes genuine enough to defeat that plan. Her endurance is similarly double-edged: it lets her survive centuries of war and reach the Dragon Lord's throne, but also makes her accept abuse, sleeplessness, and bodily destruction as necessary. The final Bom remains strategic and teasing, but she rejects both her mother's total claim on her life and the idea that love must be secured through foresight or control. Powers and abilities

Mixed green- and black-dragon lineage

Bom is a mutant born from Lugiathan and a green dragon. Unlike most mixed-blood dragons, she retains the characteristic abilities of both lineages and can disguise her color completely, even from other dragons. Her green heritage supplies her affinity with nature, living things, creation, and Providence; her black heritage supplies access to memory and emotion manipulation, black-dragon poison, and the ability to transmit information across minds. She also possesses draconic vitality, an unforgetting memory, a dragon body, a winged dragonite form, and extraordinary innate mana control. Her lineage makes her uniquely suitable for infiltrating a green Amusement while carrying the black race's design. (Chapters 3, 146, 399–401, 422–424)

Eye of Providence and synchronization

Green dragons read Providence, the rules and directional flow governing the world, and Bom's Eye often activates involuntarily, leaving her gaze blank while it presents possible future events. She uses it to evaluate danger, anticipate useful actions, and function publicly as Haru the Soothsayer. It is not omniscience: events outside the Horizon of Providence appear as gaps, and Great Hostility becomes so large that it blocks the Eye entirely. When Vintage Clock regulates that hostility into Providence, Bom recovers her sight by holding Jitae's hand and synchronizing with his thoughts and memories. The same contact-based synchronization can communicate emotion, but dependence on foresight makes its sudden loss psychologically disabling. In the restored daily life, her vision no longer supplies certainty beyond the happiness she previously foresaw, and she begins accepting that unknown future instead of forcing an outcome. Horizon of Providence, Primal Time, and Conceptualisation

Bom can enter and leave the Horizon of Providence and exist in Primal Time, a Non-Providential World running parallel to ordinary time, while still observing the Providence of Time. This allows her to retain awareness across Jitae's regressions and makes her the source of Great Hostility rather than merely one of its victims. She attributes the feat to the same Conceptualisation principle used by Lugiathan. Its narrative limits are severe: leaving Primal Time fixes the resulting causal state into Providence, and existing outside the ordinary timeline does not give her enough direct strength to defeat Jitae. She therefore relies on accumulated information, memory transfer, deception, and emotional leverage rather than raw superiority. (Chapters 400–403, 413)

Nature magic, spatial magic, and restoration

Laws of Nature (S) is Bom's draconic alternate dimension and protective domain. She uses it as storage, shelter, concealment, and a platform from which to observe distant targets; it also reinforces Unit 301 against destructive impacts. Restoration (A) channels green, nature-attributed mana into injured life and is shown rapidly closing Yeorum's wounds and saving Chirpy, though it does not instantly restore a mind damaged by hostile mana. Teleport (S) gives Bom rapid spatial movement and can be prepared through Guard Memorising (A+) to trigger automatically under a specified danger. She uses that interaction in the Masquerade dungeon, where the escape condition protects her while she deliberately returns to carry Li Hwa away. (Chapters 5–7, 52, 60, 71, 79)

Dragon's Voice and language

Dragon's Voice (S+) expresses a dragon's authority as a spoken command over created things. Bom can stop Hasegawa's puppets and force his abnormal body into Providence, preventing regeneration, while in the Public Garden she commands nature itself to reproduce a telekinetic principle through Frivoa pollen. The technique is powerful but context-dependent: it requires something subject to the dragon's command, and Bom still needs analysis, available natural matter, or a follow-up attacker to capitalize on the imposed condition. Fallen Babel (S), learned by dragons from birth, lets her understand and use languages and writing across countries, supporting both her fluency on Earth and her rapid study of human literature. Mana theory, transference, and Alteration

Bom's mother recognized her as an exceptional mana manipulator, and that talent remains her most versatile competence. Magic Transference lets her implant magical theory directly into another being, but mortgages the caster's life force and consumes enormous mana; teaching Gyeoul polymorph leaves Bom bedridden and feverish. As a conventional teacher, she can diagnose Kaeul's excessive output and coordinate five spells into one combat regimen. Her mastery of Alteration, the most intricate mana attribute, later distorts distance and sight throughout the Dimensional Cruise, combines black-dragon venom with restraining tentacles, and delays even Jitae long enough to threaten the captured dragons. She also constructs a Magic Ballista capable of piercing dragon flesh, though its threat depends on preparation and hostages because Jitae can otherwise break the field quickly. Dragon Lord's Oath and Grand Schema

After becoming Dragon Lord as Tue-Ru-Bomana, Bom gains access to an Oath before Dragon's Origin, the transcendent source from which infant Origin Fragments derive. She does not treat this as an unrestricted personal spell: it is available at coronation, requires the legitimacy of selection, and her plan also sacrifices the Demonic Sword of Grief. Bom uses that single institutional and ritual opportunity to return herself and the three dragons to their happiest days. She splits off a small fragment of her own soul to become the white bird accompanying young Jitae, while her main personality and memories travel back with the household. The feat succeeds after a thousand years of political deception and physical sacrifice, not through a spontaneous increase in combat rank. (Chapters 422–425)

Yu Jitae

Yu Jitae is Bom's guardian, nemesis, lover, and eventual fiancé. She initially approaches him under a revenge plan because he repeatedly attacked her family and permanently killed Lugiathan, then uses affection to make him value life. Shared daily life changes that calculated attachment into genuine love, while his hidden crimes and her concealed identity repeatedly turn intimacy into fear. Bom cannot kill his daughters, and Jitae refuses to discard her after the truth. Each ultimately rewrites the other's destination: she diverts him from death, he removes the causal origin of her suicide, and she spends a thousand years retrieving him before accepting his proposal. Yeorum, Kaeul, and Gyeoul

Bom acts as eldest sister to Yeorum, Kaeul, and Gyeoul, but each bond has a distinct shape. Yeorum is both a provocative rival and the sister who confronts the damage caused by Bom and Jitae's secrecy. Kaeul receives Bom's advocacy and rigorous magical instruction. Gyeoul is closest to a daughter during the Amusement: Bom teaches her polymorph, food discipline, manners, and the physical realities of shedding. These bonds ultimately defeat Bom's revenge, because she cannot murder any of them, and later defeat Lugiathan's Grand Schema when Bom chooses to bring the three to her coronation and return home together. Lugiathan and Myu

Lugiathan is Bom's mother, teacher, and the chief whose love is inseparable from the black race's demands. Bom treasures her and builds her revenge around Jitae's murder of her, yet Lugiathan also subjects her to brutal preparation and later allows vengeful spirits to monitor her every choice. Bom finally defies her by replacing the racial Grand Schema with her own. Myu, Lugiathan's twelfth daughter, is Bom's younger half-sister and accomplice across the Horizon. Myu's sealed memories help advance Hostility's plan, but Bom later kills her during preparations aboard the cruise; their kinship must therefore be distinguished from Bom's genuine sisterhood with the three seasonal dragons. Li Hwa and Protector

Li Hwa becomes Bom's confidante on human love, jealousy, and grief. Bom risks herself to save Li Hwa in the Masquerade dungeon and later seeks her counsel when professional success cannot ease her anxiety about Jitae, leading to a more direct acknowledgment of her feelings. Protector, also called Armata, is the guardian assigned to Bom before the dimensional disjoint. Its loyalty survives the loss of formal servitude, and its testimony about the Horizon helps Vintage Clock investigate Hostility. Together, the two relationships show Bom accepting care and advice from figures outside the four-dragon household. (Chapters 24–26, 79, 148–150, 224, 241–243)
