Wyvernip

Wyvernip is a rare living black flower whose scent pacifies wyverns, relaxes most dragons, and acts as an especially potent sleeping aid for members of the black dragon race.

History

The flower sent to Kaeul

After encountering dried Wyvernip in Ling Ling's necklace, Kaeul asks Tyr Brzenk for a flower and receives a living specimen by post. Yu Jitae tests it with a red dragon's heart pulsation and finds mild relaxation without pleasure, bodily harm, or addictive pull, so he lets the hatchlings use it. Kaeul, Yeorum, and Bom relax strongly, while Gyeoul shows tolerance. The specimen withers that same night because it cannot survive Earth's environment, and even Bom cannot reproduce a plant belonging to neither Earth nor Askalifa. (Chapter 285)

The last Lamdiaran shipment

Yu Jitae visits Earth's only known Wyvernip seller to replace the flower and meets Myu, who wants the same final specimen. He buys it, gives Myu several petals in return for preservation advice, and brings the remainder home in Lamdiaran holy water inside a temperature-controlled device. Kaeul and Yeorum continue using its scent, while Bom avoids it because it makes her markedly sleepier than the others. Kaeul later carries the transparent preservation box as a prop for a photograph. Black dragons and later specimens

Myu later confirms in dragon form that the scent soothes her emotions and briefly helps her act more like the humans she wishes to resemble. A dried petal from the preserved flower remains among Kaeul's belongings after her departure, until Yu Jitae discards it. Much later, a separate specimen appears with the young Bom among the black dragons; she calls it her race's sleeping assistant and says a deep breath brings immediate sleep when pain becomes severe, revealing that Bom's earlier sensitivity was tied to her black-dragon identity. Abilities and properties

• Wyvernip resembles a small black rose with layered petals and grows only in unusual dimensional environments. Fresh specimens are scarce on Earth and quickly wither outside their native conditions. (Chapters 285–286)
• Its scent removes a wyvern's will to fight and makes the monster docile; raid groups can crush the flower and apply it like perfume to prevent attacks. (Chapter 285)
• In dragons, the scent mildly stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system, creating calm and drowsiness without demonstrated pleasure, bodily damage, or addiction. Individual response varies: Gyeoul is tolerant, while Bom is unusually sensitive. (Chapters 285–286)
• Black dragons use it as a sleeping aid and emotional sedative. Myu uses the calm to moderate her innate disposition, while young Bom says a deep breath can put her to sleep immediately. (Chapters 292 and 407)
• A dead specimen can retain its scent for weeks when preserved in Lamdiaran holy water at 45 degrees Celsius, though a later dried petal shows that preservation is not indefinite. (Chapters 286 and 391)
