Myu

Myu is a mutant black dragon and the twelfth child of Lugiathan. Her apparently chance arrival on Earth makes her a suspected terrorist leader, an enemy defeated by Yu Jitae, and then the only viable subject for his research into the dragons' return. The sealed purpose inside her ultimately identifies her as the Third Night and connects her directly to Lugiathan's revenge and Bom's hidden past.

Biography

The Stranger Mistaken for Q

Myu first meets Jitae at a Wyvernip shop while using the false public identity of a twenty-eight-year-old member of the Royal Guards of the Golden Cross. She wants the last flower because its scent calms her emotions, and Jitae gives her several petals after buying it for Kaeul. Her gratitude, advice about preserving the flower, and outwardly ordinary behavior make the later footage of her inside the Tower of Mages difficult for him to reconcile with the courteous stranger he remembers. (Chapters 286, 289–290)

Confronted at the tower, Myu identifies herself as an adult black dragon whose purple eyes are a mutation. She says a dimensional disjoint brought her to Earth and that five years of wandering led her to seek a permanent nest. By reading human memories and desires, she connected anti-Association groups that wanted power, but denies being Q or personally ordering their crimes: in her account, Q is an illusion and she merely placed a weapon in willing human hands. Her distinction is truthful, yet her network and nest still accelerated a worldwide crisis. (Chapter 292)

Jitae refuses to let an adult black dragon remain free and deliberately attacks Myu's pride to test whether she can control her racial impulses. She loses her rationality, teleports away, destroys mana infrastructure with her breath, and tries to turn her dragon heart into a mass-casualty explosion. Jitae tears apart her wings and spine, diverts her into a fissure, and prepares to kill her, but discovers that the protection surrounding her Origin Fragment is cracked. Needing that anomaly for research, he spares her, forces her into human form, and places her under the concealed Association designation B-12. (Chapters 293–296)

Captivity, Experiments, and the Third Night

Myu awakens in the hazard isolation chambers and immediately uses mental influence against the agents guarding her. Her ability to stop her own heart without the usual pain threshold prevents Jitae from treating her life as an uncomplicated bargaining chip, so they negotiate: she will permit repeated procedures on her heart and fragment in exchange for less needless abuse, suitable quarters, attendants, and supervised leave after each experiment. She refuses anaesthesia during the first vivisection, enduring the procedure without moving so that the research can proceed and her next period of freedom can arrive sooner. (Chapters 300–303)

Her outings expose motives that do not fit Jitae's expectations of a purely destructive black dragon. Myu studies Earth's technological history, watches ordinary human relationships, and becomes absorbed by unfamiliar machines, clothing, food, and toys. During a longer holiday, her contempt for human rules and readiness to injure people repeatedly clash with Jitae's restrictions and Bom's supervision. She nevertheless learns to yield when her conduct threatens the leave she values, while her rivalry with Bom turns their mutual suspicion into open provocation. (Chapters 303, 325–331)

Repeated experiments eventually let Jitae apply Conceptualisation to Myu's inner world. There, her true personality is found mutilated and discarded, while Rationality governs from above, suppresses that personality through Self-censorship, and excludes it from the life Myu has been made to pursue. Myu's personality guides Jitae through her frozen memories, speaks honestly about wanting a purpose, and chooses to help when he learns that the Will of the Ancient One survives through her personality. Jitae kills that mirror image to open the fragment, leaving Myu's living body without its original identity. (Chapters 349–356)

The death of her personality does not neutralize what lies beyond the Black Wall sealing her earliest memories. When the inaccessible memory opens, Myu recovers the purpose planted by Lugiathan: she was born and sent across the non-Providential distance to carry the Third Night and make Jitae's regressions collapse around the dragons he loves. She welcomes Bom as her sister, attempts to transmit the memories of Jitae's prior atrocities, and uses black tentacles to force contact when Bom resists. Bom fires her prepared ballista through Myu's chest, but the memory transmission succeeds before Myu dies. (Chapters 368–371)

Lugiathan's Daughter and a Revised Past

The recovered history identifies “Myu” as the Earth-language interpretation of μ, the twelfth position in Lugiathan's naming order. Myu is therefore not an unrelated wanderer but Bom's younger sister and one of thirty-one children born to the black-dragon chief. Her curiosity, relative immaturity, and aimless longing for a nest came from flying toward Earth almost from birth, while the Black Wall concealed both her mother and the mission beneath her conscious wish to find a place where she could finally stop wandering. (Chapters 369, 399)

Jitae later enters a parallel version of the black dragons' past and meets Myu as a child at Lugiathan's palace. She is proud and prickly even then, quarrels with the young Bom, and becomes trapped when Jitae's former self attacks the banquet. The later Jitae kills fallen angels to reach her, carries her back to safety, and arranges for Bom to take Myu and the other hatchlings away. Protecting the sisters is part of his attempt to prevent Lugiathan's death and erase the causal history that turned both daughters into weapons of revenge. (Chapters 406, 408–411)

The final revision traps the earlier Jitae outside the decisive moment and preserves Lugiathan, Bom, and Myu. Myu's death in the isolation chamber consequently belongs to the discarded parallel history rather than the restored one. Although her life after the correction is not shown directly, the revised outcome explicitly returns her to life along with her mother and sister, ending the voyage that had carried her from birth toward the Third Night on Earth. Appearance and personality

In human form, Myu is a beautiful pale woman with long jet-black hair, a white face, pronounced fangs, and amethyst-purple eyes. The eye color marks her mutation; it remains visible even through the disguise used in footage from the Tower of Mages. Her true body is a jet-black, roughly forty-metre dragon whose silhouette resembles a huge winged gargoyle or wyvern. After Jitae defeats her, severe damage to her dragon heart and enforced Polymorph leave her outwardly human and drastically reduce the mana she can use. (Chapters 286, 290, 292–296, 329)

Myu is proud, territorial, easily provoked by contempt for her race, and accustomed to treating humans as lesser beings. She can be casually cruel and sees lethal retaliation as an appropriate answer to theft, confinement, or disrespect. At the same time, she is unusually composed under pain, capable of negotiation, and intensely curious about technology and ordinary life. Wyvernip temporarily helps her act more human, but her childlike wonder is later explained more fundamentally: despite reaching adulthood during her long transit, she began that journey without the breadth of lived experience her age suggests. The personality found inside her fragment reveals traits that Rationality normally crushes: Myu wants to live, empathizes with Jitae's long pursuit, fears being useless, and sincerely hopes to help the person for whom she believes she was born. Her willingness to sacrifice that personality for Jitae's goal is genuine, but the separate purpose hidden behind the Black Wall redirects her body toward Lugiathan's revenge once the seal opens. Her apparent contradictions therefore come from distinct layers of self, repression, and implanted mission rather than a simple change of allegiance. (Chapters 350–356, 369–370)

Powers and abilities

Mutant black-dragon physiology

Myu is an adult dragon between roughly five hundred and one thousand years old by Earth reckoning, yet Jitae judges her strength comparable to an ordinary black dragon around five thousand years old. Her true body possesses tremendous strength, vitality, senses, mana control, flight, regeneration, a dragon heart, and a black breath that destroys and absorbs surrounding mana. In human form she retains draconic grip, durability, fangs, and the ability to recover power as her damaged heart heals, but severe heart and spinal injuries, mana-restricting chains, and forced Polymorph sharply limit those advantages. (Chapters 292–301, 329)

Myu directly attributes her purple eyes and voluntary Heart Suspension to her mutation, while Jitae suspects that her unusually rapid spell preparation and cracked Will of the Ancient One arise from the same cause. Heart Suspension lets her kill herself without reaching the critical pain normally required for a dragon to stop its heart, giving her leverage while captive. Her fragment's damaged protection also permits outside access that would be impossible with another dragon. These deviations make her both more dangerous in combat and uniquely valuable to Jitae's experiments, but none prevents him from overpowering her once he reaches close range. Destructive magic and dimensional movement

Myu combines accumulated tower mana with memorized high-grade spells. She uses Mass Teleport to escape the tower, repeatedly casts Bulk Exchange to exchange whole locations, and relies on Dimensional Step and prepared magic to keep distance from Jitae. Her attacks include suppression and pulverization spheres, elemental bombardments, Eradication flames capable of scorching blessings, mana, authorities, and existence, and large-scale breath attacks designed to collapse a magic-dependent civilization. Her most extreme application converts her dragon heart into a self-destructive blast, but Jitae's Punishment strike diverts her before it reaches the ground. (Chapters 293–294)

Memory, emotion, and mental influence

Like other black dragons, Myu can read memories and emotions, alter memories, and transmit them one-sidedly to another dragon. She uses the first capacity to locate humans with compatible resentment and connect anti-Association factions; she later uses direct mental pressure to make imprisoned agents kill or maim themselves. After the Third Night awakens, she combines Memory Transmission with restraining black tentacles so that Bom receives Jitae's prior-life memories even as Bom shoots her. These powers explain why observers mistake her for the singular mastermind Q, but Myu's truthful account distinguishes facilitating a network from personally directing every crime attributed to that name. Origin Fragment, Rationality, and the Black Wall

Myu's Origin Fragment contains nine authority organs, including Emergency Summon and Long-distance Dimensional Intersection, protected by the Will of the Ancient One. The pre-existing crack lets Jitae inspect and eventually break that protection. Conceptualisation is Jitae's borrowed authority rather than Myu's power: it renders her fragment as a village where her abilities, dispositions, memories, and personality become physical mirror images. Destroying a mirror image damages the corresponding function, which is why the death of Personality leaves her body alive but initially unresponsive. (Chapters 294, 302, 348–356)

Rationality is an internal governing disposition, not Myu's recovered conscious judgment. It watches her conceptual world, uses Self-censorship and memory manipulators, and violently suppresses the discarded personality when its conduct conflicts with Myu's assigned purpose. The Black Wall is separate again: Lugiathan's higher-ranked Inaccessible Memory blocks even Jitae's Conceptualisation and hides Myu's childhood, Hostility, and Third Night mission. When the wall opens after the personality's destruction, the concealed mission can control the remaining body and restore the memories needed to recognize Bom. (Chapters 350–355, 369–370)

Yu Jitae

Yu Jitae is Myu's self-proclaimed “nemesis,” captor, experimenter, and eventual protector in the revised past. Their relationship begins with reciprocal racial hatred and coercion, then becomes a negotiated dependency because he needs her fragment and she needs supervised freedom. Inside her conceptual world, her unguarded personality comes to admire his persistence and willingly helps him, making his decision to kill it emotionally consequential. Their later conflict resumes through the Third Night, but his intervention in the past ultimately saves the child Myu and removes the history that sent her to destroy him. (Chapters 292–303, 325–356, 369–370, 406–413)

Bom

Bom first encounters Myu as a captive adult dragon and reacts with hostility intensified by jealousy and unease. Myu considers the apparent green hatchling insolent, provokes her throughout a supervised holiday, and does not consciously recognize their blood relationship. Once the Black Wall opens, she greets Bom as her elder sister and transmits the memories central to Lugiathan's revenge, dying by Bom's ballista in the process. Their childhood history shows the same prickly rivalry in a less lethal form, while the revised past preserves both sisters before that mission can divide them again. Lugiathan

Lugiathan is Myu's mother, racial chief, and the hidden author of her life's direction. She names her twelfth child through the position later interpreted as Myu, seals the daughter's memories behind an authority stronger than Conceptualisation, and sends her from outside Providence carrying the Third Night. Myu's conscious longing to help an unknown person is a distorted trace of that assignment. Jitae's alteration of Lugiathan's death removes the revenge that governed Myu's voyage and restores mother and daughter together. (Chapters 354, 369, 399, 406–413)
