The Primal Hunter

About the novel

The Primal Hunter begins when Earth is integrated into a system-governed multiverse and office worker Jake Thayne enters a lethal Tutorial with his coworkers. The new environment exposes instincts that ordinary life kept suppressed: Jake is comfortable alone, motivated by dangerous prey, and unwilling to subordinate his Path to social approval. His bloodline and archery allow him to become a hunter in a far more literal sense.

Jake's connection to the Malefic Viper opens alchemy, divine politics, and a wider history of the multiverse. He founds Haven and accepts practical responsibility for Earth without becoming a conventional ruler, preserving the independence that defines his growth. Tutorials, treasure hunts, the Order, Nevermore, and galactic conflicts expand the scale while his rivalry and friendships test whether solitude can coexist with lasting commitments.

World and the system

Integration assigns levels, classes, professions, skills, records, titles, and grades to people and worlds. Evolutions at grade thresholds reshape classes and bodies according to choices and achievements, while Paths represent the identity formed by those decisions. Records preserve accomplishments and potential, making exceptional acts capable of influencing later upgrades.

Jake combines an arcane archer class with poison alchemy and a bloodline that heightens perception, instinct, and resistance to external pressure. Patrons can grant blessings and opportunities, but reliance on a god can also define a person's future. The multiverse contains factions, divine disciples, system events, dungeons, and world competitions whose rules reward ambition while still leaving room for unique skills created through individual understanding.
