Malefic Viper’s Drop of Blood

The Malefic Viper’s Drop of Blood is a drop of the Primordial’s True Blood that the Viper secretly added to Jake’s Trial of Myriad Poisons. Jake claimed and absorbed it during the resulting soul trial. Its physical substance is gone, but its power and Records remain represented inside Jake’s Soulspace. (Chapters 118–120, 1048, 1100)

History

Trial of Myriad Poisons

The Malefic Viper added one drop of his own blood to the Trial of Myriad Poisons without telling Jake. The experiment went far beyond the trial’s ordinary purpose: injecting a Primordial’s Records into an E-grade soul risked Soulstrain, permanent soul damage, or death. After Jake completed the poison trial, the dark-green drop activated, crossed into his chest, and pulled his consciousness into a soul-realm test. (Chapter 118)

Jake rejected the path represented by a draconic version of himself, then forced his way through the drop’s passive aura and claimed it. The system identified the absorbed object as True Blood of the Malefic Viper and strengthened Jake’s True Blessing. The Viper had intended to reclaim the blood after Jake absorbed only inspiration or a fraction of its Records, but Jake partly “stole” the whole drop; most of its power remained dormant because Jake was still too weak to access it. Dormant catalyst and Soulspace presence

The drop remained in a metaphysical region around Jake’s heart and reacted during his D-grade evolution. Later, after Palate connected it to Jake’s true Soulspace, it pulsed once to suppress a corrupted World Core and supplied knowledge relevant to the plague Jake had consumed. These interventions were autonomous responses rather than powers Jake demonstrated that he could command at will. (Chapters 195, 723, 968)

During Jake’s unstable encounter with Primeval Origin Energy, the drop glowed and provided the Malefic Viper a point of connection for manifesting within the Soulspace. Later explanation clarified that the physical drop had ceased to exist after absorption: the visible drop is a representation of its Records, and the region around it resists even Jake’s otherwise extensive control of his Soulspace. Abilities and properties

• Primordial Records: The blood carried a fragment of what the Malefic Viper is. Absorbing it strengthened Jake’s True Blessing and opened new possible paths, while also contributing traces of True Blood to Jake’s related Blood skill. (Chapters 119, 120)
• Extreme acquisition risk: For an E-grade recipient, the Records could have caused Soulstrain, cracked or shattered the soul, erased progress, or changed the soul’s structure. Jake survived because he could contest and claim the drop within his own soul. (Chapters 118–120)
• Dormant, inaccessible power: The blood contains power far beyond Jake’s current state and remains suppressed. Jake later speculates that its poison might threaten a god if he could actually access its power and Records, but the corpus does not show him doing so. (Chapters 120, 812)
• Knowledge resonance: Its pulse against the corrupted World Core both suppressed the plague-bearing object and delivered plague-related knowledge, connecting the drop to Jake’s access to the Viper’s deeper Records. (Chapter 723)
• Karmic and Soulspace connection: The absorbed blood strengthens Jake’s bond to the Viper and can serve as a connection point for the Primordial’s intervention. Its Soulspace representation is not fully under Jake’s control. (Chapters 119, 120, 970, 1049)
• Transformation into Records: The physical drop no longer exists after absorption. What Jake sees in the Soulspace is the persistent visualization of the item’s Records, not a recoverable liquid object. (Chapters 1048, 1100)
