Aengus Degaro
Aengus Degaro, formerly the Earth-born Ethan Smith, is the central ruler and power-bearer of Reincarnated with Three Unique Skills. His second life begins as a classless hunter, but his ability to absorb and synthesize powers draws him through demonic transformation, imperial conquest, godhood, and ultimately the struggle over Creation itself. (Chapters 1–466)
Biography
Reincarnation and Arcadia
Ethan Smith's first life ends after years defined by abandonment, illness, and isolation. Awakening in Mythraldor as the eighteen-year-old Aengus Degaro gives him the autonomy he lacked on Earth, but no occupation, class, or knowledge of the world around him. He therefore treats survival as a problem to solve: he examines the three skills chosen at reincarnation, accepts Aria's guidance, and decides that becoming a hunter will give him both income and a disciplined way to understand his new powers. Aria's warmth turns that practical alliance into his first dependable emotional bond. (Chapters 1–7)
Dungeon work changes Aengus from a cautious outsider into an increasingly self-directed combatant. He tests Skill Absorption rather than assuming its limits, combines what he acquires through Universal Synthesis, and hides the true breadth of his abilities when official scrutiny makes openness dangerous. The choice is not merely tactical: he wants a life beyond other people's control, and secrecy protects that freedom. His work with Lenora Emberion, Cedric, Marcus, Yona, and Drake Silvermoon also teaches him to use his unusual versatility for a party rather than only for personal advancement. (Chapters 8–52)
The assault on Arcadia converts that growing competence into responsibility. Aengus protects civilians, improvises transport and defenses, and repeatedly pushes overlapping skills past what his body and soul can safely bear. His decisions help preserve people who have become his community, but the victory leaves him broken enough for demonic power and MANAS's intervention to alter him fundamentally. He emerges from the disaster separated from Arcadia and believing much of what he valued has been lost. The passive endurance of Ethan's first life has ended; Aengus now accepts pain and risk when his choices can determine whether others survive. (Chapters 53–72)
Demon blood and a new dominion
Aengus awakens in the Abyss grieving Arcadia and visibly marked by black horns, pale skin, and Beelzebub's partial royal bloodline. His body now holds mana and nether energy, while his registered race is half human and half demon. Instead of treating this condition as proof that he has become an enemy, he decides to master it and grow strong enough that another catastrophe cannot take his people from him. MANAS helps regulate his altered state, while Bella Bellfrost's intervention gives him immediate protection but also places him inside demonic politics he does not yet trust. (Chapters 73–91)
His campaign among demon tribes reveals both the constructive and coercive sides of that resolve. Aengus develops an internal converter to reconcile opposing energies, defeats hostile leaders, and uses synthesis to grant systems or racial evolutions to chosen followers. Sen, Sienna Alsker, Butler Yu, and Vespera become part of a dominion whose subjects can receive extraordinary opportunity from him, yet often only after submission. Calling this force the Army of Liberation expresses a genuine desire to protect the weak, but his readiness to dominate opponents makes the name an aspiration rather than an uncomplicated description. (Chapters 91–122)
Bella becomes the person best able to challenge the isolation beneath Aengus's authoritarian composure. Their bond develops through rescue, negotiation, shared danger, and mutual attraction, while Belial, Beelzebub, and Aengus's human connections force him to consider how private loyalties become matters of state. He names the awakened Aegis of Judgment, gathers materials and followers, and begins planning beyond immediate survival. By the end of this phase, he no longer fears that demonic traits invalidate his humanity, but his conviction that power can secure peace increasingly allows him to decide other people's futures for them. (Chapters 123–145)
Trials, Aegis, and the Liberation Empire
Traveling under the name Zero lets Aengus enter new territories without immediately exposing either his demonic history or expanding political ambitions. He joins Sofia's party, observes how other hunters understand heroism, and returns to direct use of Aegis while continuing to pursue the truth behind his soul. The revelation that ZERO is Zytherion, an Omniversal Ruination Extremity, reframes his abnormal growth as part of an identity older and larger than his present life. Rather than surrendering judgment to that title, he treats it as another dangerous inheritance whose power must answer to his chosen goals. (Chapters 146–180)
Reunion with Aria brings relief but also requires Aengus to reconcile two lives: the young hunter she knew and the ruler Bella helped him become. Aria and Bella gradually negotiate their shared place beside him, while Aengus develops S-rank synthesized skills, Shadow Monarch's Dominion, and Omni-Devour. Military service and the rescue of Aria's Silvermoon relatives widen the meaning of protection from saving individuals to breaking the regimes that threaten them. His ability to heal damaged souls with Aegis shows the supportive use of his accumulated powers, even as his destruction of enemies demonstrates how little conventional restraint can now contain him. (Chapters 181–245)
The confrontation with Kairos completes Aengus's shift from insurgent commander to emperor. He destroys enemy warships, absorbs annihilated power, kills leaders he judges irreconcilable, and reorganizes conquered forces beneath the Liberation Empire. Victory raises him to level 320 and leaves his multi-species race, Chaos Creator class, laws, army, and political authority concentrated in one person. This makes the new order capable of rapid protection and transformation, but also makes its justice dependent on his decisions. He emerges convinced that imposed unity is preferable to cycles of predation, an outlook that will guide both his greatest rescues and his harshest conquests. (Chapters 246–276)
Mythraldor unification and godhood
Aengus next directs the empire against the divisions separating Mythraldor's human and demon powers. His objective is preventive as much as expansionist: he believes fragmented realms will be destroyed or manipulated when divine war arrives, and that only a single authority can protect Bella, Aria, and the populations he has taken responsibility for. He infiltrates or challenges the Hero and Phoenix powers, consumes guarded Divine Essence, and uses the God Stone in his pursuit of godhood. Those actions bring strength quickly, though the chaos stirred by Omni-Devour shows that even his adaptive body does not make every accumulation stable or consequence-free. (Chapters 277–314)
The campaign also resolves intimate obligations that raw conquest cannot replace. Aengus helps return Bella to her family, confronts divine and primordial figures tied to his blood and soul, and relies on Aria, Bella, Sienna, and Lumenaria as more than subordinates. Against the Sky Phoenix power and other divine opponents, he uses Aegis, transformations, elemental laws, and synthesis as interacting parts of one arsenal rather than isolated techniques. His victories confirm the effectiveness of that integration, yet each conquered power deepens the dependence of the empire on a ruler whose personal growth outpaces every institution around him. (Chapters 300–338)
At the culmination of the campaign, Aengus combines Solis and the Abyss into a remade Mythraldor under the Ruination Empire. The synthesis preserves populations facing cosmic destruction, but it also ends their former political autonomy by placing the world's structure inside his order. His status has risen to God of Void and his body to a Chaotic Fiend-Celestial state, while sustaining his immense Void form taxes his soul. He has achieved planetary protection by making himself the world's indispensable center; that success secures his family and followers while pushing his identity away from ordinary rulership and toward the source-level conflict of Creation and Ruination. (Chapters 339–350)
The Primal Realm and the Creation conflict
Entering the Primal Realm separates Aengus from Aria and removes the familiar institutions that made his authority intelligible. He travels toward Tiamat Academy, claims an unfamiliar galaxy, and confronts the Degaro family's judgment of the once-disgraced young master whose Darkness affinity had been treated as useless. His priority is finding Aria, but the search also forces him to discover what Aengus Degaro means beyond Ethan, Zero, and Ruination. Bella remains his nearest companion as new allies and rivals—including Hexagon, Hog, Vansing, Morgana, Ronin, and Olivia—draw him into the realm's family and imperial struggles. (Chapters 351–384)
Aengus answers those pressures by combining invention with conquest. He displays talents the academy and family consider forbidden, survives schemes aimed at controlling or eliminating him, builds heaven-class warships, and either absorbs or allies with kingdoms needed for a larger defense. The approach repeats his Mythraldor pattern on a wider scale: he offers security and advancement, but reserves final judgment for himself. By defeating high-level opponents and claiming the Law of Darkness that once justified his disgrace, he overturns the Degaro family's verdict. Becoming Kievan's True Emperor is therefore both a political victory and a personal refusal to let inherited institutions define the value of his nature. (Chapters 385–406)
The deepest conflict is not with a throne but with Aria's awakened identity as Creation, apparently destined to oppose his Ruination. Aengus refuses to accept that cosmic history must dictate their relationship. Their confrontation exposes a cycle extending beyond the memories of their current lives, while his choice to use Universal Synthesis on their souls seeks union instead of another victory by annihilation. The act is extraordinarily risky and affects the Primal Realm itself, but it restores Aria and integrates their powers. Aengus thus completes this phase not simply as a stronger emperor, but as someone willing to redirect his defining ability toward reconciliation with the one person cosmic law casts as his opposite. (Chapters 407–427)
Creation restored and the final boundary
With Aria restored and Aron Degaro found, Aengus turns from imperial consolidation toward repairing losses that conquest could never compensate for. He revives Arcadia, reunites companions from his early life, and brings old and new family into a shared future. His marriages to Aria and Bella formalize bonds that have survived separation, transformation, and political conflict. These restorations matter because they reconnect his cosmic identity to Ethan's original hunger for belonging: the ruler of worlds still measures success through whether Iris, Emily, his partners, and the people once presumed dead can live together without fear. (Chapters 428–457)
Aengus nevertheless leaves that security to cross the Ruination boundary, knowing the force beyond it threatens the architecture of Creation. He expands through universes and realities, develops infinite avatars, assimilates laws, and reclaims both Absolute Creation and Absolute Ruination. The scale of these actions makes his earlier empires seem local, but his motive remains protective rather than purely acquisitive. He builds an inner cosmos capable of sheltering life and accepts that reaching the Originator may require him to move beyond a stable bodily existence. Aria and Bella's silent grief at his departure emphasizes that his repeated willingness to bear danger also imposes loss on those he protects. (Chapters 457–460)
In the final struggle, Aengus fights beside Raizel, Gaia, and Historia against the Originator. Their cooperation creates the opening his power alone cannot guarantee: Raizel's final antimagic field prevents time reversal, allowing Aengus to detonate his body and release the Creation Tree into the Blank Domain. The victory carries an irreversible personal cost, yet his power and identity persist through the tree that shelters continuing existence. His trajectory therefore ends by transforming devouring conquest into stewardship—the isolated man who once gathered power to survive becomes part of the structure through which other lives can continue. (Chapters 461–466)
Appearance and personality
Aengus initially appears as a handsome eighteen-year-old in common clothing, with a composed manner that does not advertise how unfamiliar Mythraldor is to him. After his demonic transformation he is explicitly described with pale skin, black hair, and a pair of black horns; he can later assume a High Human form and eventually develops far larger supernatural forms, including the soul-taxing Void form. His many racial syntheses change the system's description of his body more often than the narrative supplies stable visual detail, so features beyond those demonstrated forms remain uncertain. (Chapters 3, 36, 73–74, 148, and 350–351)
His defining behavioral traits are caution, adaptability, possessive loyalty, and an increasingly severe confidence in his own judgment. Aengus is attentive and sometimes playful with people he trusts, but noticeably cold to strangers and ruthless toward opponents he believes will continue harming others. He values freedom because his first life offered little of it, yet as emperor he often denies that same freedom through compulsory submission. The tension is central to his personality: sincere protectiveness and willingness to sacrifice coexist with a readiness to make irreversible choices for entire populations. (Chapters 1–3, 26, 73–93, 150, 233, and 406)
Skills, laws, and abilities
Aengus's arsenal develops through a system of personal levels, graded skills, bloodlines, classes, elemental laws, and later cosmic source power. His three reincarnation choices—Appraisal, Skill Absorption, and Universal Synthesis—form the foundation. MANAS improves how efficiently he analyzes and combines what he acquires, but the corpus does not establish that every later effect is independent of his evolving body, class, laws, and source identities; his strongest feats are usually interactions among several of these systems. (Chapters 2–10, 71, 91, 146, 205, 233, and 428–460)
Appraisal, absorption, and Omni-Devour
Appraisal provides information about beings and objects and lets Aengus compare enemies, materials, and potential combinations before acting. Skill Absorption initially extracts skills from defeated creatures or bodies, with a mana cost and uncertain success that make weak targets poor investments. It supplies the raw library from which he develops a flexible combat style, but it is not unrestricted copying: early use is constrained by mana, available targets, and an absorption limit, and the Demon Land's different powers complicate what he can take as conventional skills. (Chapters 2, 6–10, 22, 74, 93, and 112)
Omni-Devour is the later, broader expression of that acquisitive foundation. It consumes skills, energy, annihilation essence, divine liquid, opponents, and eventually structures on cosmic scales, converting what is devoured into levels, attributes, laws, or usable power. Aengus employs it for rapid advancement after battles and to deny enemies their accumulated strength. Adaptation does not eliminate risk: consuming Divine Essence agitates his chaotic aura, and the exact conversion ratio between a target and each resulting gain is not explained. By the final boundary, devouring and synthesis operate across multiverses and realities rather than only individual bodies. (Chapters 205, 237, 254, 259, 287, 406, and 445–460)
Universal Synthesis and the Chaos Creator class
Universal Synthesis merges compatible inputs into a new result and is Aengus's most distinctive ability. At first, he combines ordinary absorbed skills into stronger, specialized techniques; MANAS can model a desired outcome, as when several body-enhancement skills become Doombringer Fortification or physical materials form an internal Energy Converter. The process can be painful and places stress on body and soul, while compatibility, ingredients, and sufficient information matter. Its operating source is never fully reduced to ordinary mana mechanics, and its ultimate-grade designation understates how far it later grows. (Chapters 10–11, 71, 91, 112–122, and 205)
The Chaos Creator class complements synthesis by turning destruction, chaos, and emotional force into additional battlefield strength. Alongside Aengus's composite race and accumulated bloodlines, it lets him integrate abilities that would ordinarily belong to incompatible species or systems. He uses synthesis to evolve Aegis, improve subordinates, create or transform races, combine worlds, and manufacture heaven-class warships. These applications make the skill useful in crafting, governance, transport, healing support, and cosmology as well as combat, although the narrative often demonstrates a successful result without fully specifying the internal rules that make a particular combination viable. (Chapters 93, 122, 205, 233–237, 259, 339–350, and 385–427)
Its most consequential use is synthesis of identities and sources. Aengus combines his soul with Aria's rather than accepting the inherited opposition between Ruination and Creation, then later holds both Absolute Creation and Absolute Ruination while building an inner cosmos. At this scale the ability radiates across a realm and can restructure worlds or realities, but it remains a chosen act rather than an automatic guarantee of safety. The final outcome depends on allies, accumulated laws, and sacrifice, showing that even ultimate synthesis does not make Aengus self-sufficient against the Originator. (Chapters 339–350, 427–445, and 457–466)
Demonic bloodline, forms, and shadow authority
Fusion with Beelzebub's bloodline creates Aengus's half-human, half-demon body and grants nether energy, darkness abilities, regeneration, and demonic transformations alongside his mana-based skills. The two energy sources initially require active reconciliation, leading MANAS and Universal Synthesis to construct an internal Energy Converter. This mixed physiology expands through absorbed beast, dragon, Seeker, celestial, and fiend lineages, eventually becoming a composite race rather than a simple demonic form. The transformations increase physical and elemental power, but repeated overlap and the later Void form can injure or heavily tax his body and soul. (Chapters 66–74, 85–92, 233, 259, 314, and 350–351)
Shadow Monarch's Dominion gives him control over shadows and supports the armies through which personal conquest becomes organized rule. He demonstrates precise manipulation by taking Aria's shadow and can use defeated enemies as subordinate forces, but some Transcendentals cannot be enslaved through it, establishing that authority is not universal. His mass empowerment also depends on synthesis, absorbed resources, and willing or compelled subjects rather than the shadow ability alone. By the later cosmic phase, these army mechanics matter less than his source powers, though command, multiplication, and projection continue in the form of large-scale avatars. (Chapters 112–145, 205, 233, and 457–460)
Combat techniques, laws, and Aegis
Aengus builds combat techniques by combining absorbed sword arts, elemental attacks, transformations, defenses, curses, and movement skills. Representative results include Abyssal Blazing Dragon, Chaotic Maelstrom, Voidbreaker Slash, and Oblivion Horizon Slash, the last producing an annihilating dome that also nullifies hostile skills. Rapid Cast and layered transformations allow combinations in battle, but higher output can strain him, and named attacks remain applications rather than formal progression states. His tactical advantage comes less from a single fixed style than from Appraisal, MANAS's guidance, and the ability to create a counter or new interaction from available powers. (Chapters 66–71, 205, 232–259, and 309–314)
Aegis of Judgment is an equipment-derived partner rather than an innate power. The synthesized and evolving sentient weapon can change form, channel holy or divine force, amplify healing, and carry Aengus's high-grade attacks. He uses it as sword, scepter, and immense destructive weapon, including to reinforce Sacred Kirin's Healing and to release Chaotic Maelstrom. Its effects should therefore not be attributed solely to his body; they arise from the wielder-weapon interaction, and Aegis retains a communicative identity of its own. (Chapters 122, 155, 232, 242, 254, and 309)
Aengus gradually masters elemental and conceptual laws, beginning with Space and Water and later adding Darkness, Void, Time, Gravity, and a broad set of natural and cosmic principles. Laws permit effects beyond ordinary graded skills, including spatial travel, domains, reality manipulation, and creation or destruction at enormous scale. The status panels track percentages for some laws, but they do not provide a uniform mechanical explanation for how every percentage translates into range or force. By the endpoint his law mastery interacts with both source powers and the Creation Tree, while allied intervention remains necessary to overcome the Originator's control of time. (Chapters 259, 314, 350, 406, 428, 445, and 460–466)
Creation, Ruination, and cosmic persistence
ZERO or Zytherion is revealed as Aengus's Ruination soul identity, an Extremity whose dormant, damaged immensity exceeds his early understanding. Later union with Aria gives him Absolute Creation and a combined ZERO–ARIA soul state, after which travel through realms strengthens his connection to the Creation Source. He can create, integrate, or destroy worlds and realities, project innumerable avatars, and maintain an inner cosmos. These are source-level abilities rather than merely upgraded hunter skills, and the narrative does not fully explain the ultimate origin or hard limits of either source before the confrontation beyond Creation's boundary. (Chapters 146, 339–350, 427–445, and 457–460)
After reclaiming both Creation and Ruination, Aengus reaches beyond Peak Extremity and confronts the Originator. His final bodily detonation releases the Creation Tree across the Blank Domain when Raizel's antimagic prevents the Originator from reversing time. The result demonstrates both his greatest effect and clearest limitation: he can make his accumulated power a continuing shelter for Creation, but only by surrendering ordinary bodily persistence and relying on allies to create the decisive opening. His latest source-grounded state is therefore continued identity through the Creation Tree, not confirmed restoration to his former embodied mastery. (Chapters 457–466)

Relationships
- Aria: Aria is Aengus's first guide in Mythraldor, one of his wives, and the Creation counterpart to his Ruination identity. Their relationship survives separation and apparent cosmic opposition because he chooses synthesis and reconciliation over repeating the conflict encoded in their powers. (Chapters 2–72, 170–193, and 423–466)
- Bella Bellfrost: Bella rescues Aengus after his demonic transformation and becomes his partner, political companion, and wife. She helps him navigate the Demon World and remains beside him through imperial and cosmic expansion. (Chapters 73–145 and 181–466)
- MANAS: MANAS is Aengus's internal adviser and technical collaborator, managing information, guiding synthesis, and helping reconcile otherwise incompatible energies and abilities. (Chapters 70–71, 91, 146–205, and 427–461)
- Aron Degaro: Finding Aron ties Aengus's recovered Degaro identity to a living family relationship and becomes part of his late effort to reunite what earlier conflicts scattered. (Chapters 428–445)
- Sienna Alsker: Sienna grows from a subordinate within his demon dominion into a trusted figure whose loyalty connects his first empire to his later household and state. (Chapters 95–130, 263–320, and 412–439)
- Leon: Leon is an early protector and powerful ally associated with Arcadia, linking Aengus's first hunter circle to the larger conflicts that follow. (Chapters 28–41, 183–260, and 414–442)
- Aegis: Aegis is the sentient identity associated with Aengus's evolving weapon, a combat and support partner rather than an inert possession. (Chapters 122, 155, 232–254, and 309)
Items
- Aegis of Judgment: Aengus names, wields, evolves, and channels power through the sentient weapon across his military and divine campaigns. (Chapters 122, 155, 232–254, and 309)
