Chu Yuechan

Chu Yuechan is the former head of the Frozen Cloud Seven Fairies and the mother of Yun Wuxin. Once famed throughout Blue Wind as the aloof Fairy of Frozen Beauty, she sacrifices her sect art, cultivation, and public standing to protect her unborn daughter, vanishes from the profound world for twelve years, and eventually returns to lead Frozen Cloud Immortal Palace.

Biography

Frozen Cloud’s foremost fairy

Chu Yuechan grows up within Frozen Cloud Asgard and becomes the first-ranked member of the Frozen Cloud Seven Fairies. She advances into the Sky Profound Realm only a few years after receiving a life-saving Frozen Soul Bead at about age twenty, then reaches half-step Emperor Profound and the sixth stages of both the Frozen Cloud Arts and Frozen Heart Arts. By the time she enters the story, Blue Wind regards her as both its foremost woman practitioner and its unrivaled beauty, yet she has spent roughly a decade almost entirely inside the Asgard. One of her rare journeys is undertaken for Xia Qingyue, when she hunts three Sky Profound beasts so that the young disciple can cultivate Frozen Heart Liquid Jade. That seclusion ends in the Wasteland of Death. Cornered by two flood dragons, Yuechan uses the forbidden Zeroth Aurora to kill one at the cost of ruining her profound veins, while Jasmine secretly kills the other. The crippled Yuechan then enters the Dragon God trial with Yun Che, who carries and protects her through months of attacks. She initially tries to make him abandon her rather than die on her behalf, but his refusal restores her own will to live; in turn, she remembers the Frozen Soul Bead and raises its barrier when both of them are near death. Their dependence on one another gradually breaches the emotional isolation imposed by Frozen Cloud training. (Chapters 182–190 and 1061)

At the trial’s end, the Primordial Azure Dragon identifies Yun Che’s newly inherited Dragon God vital yang as a means to repair Yuechan’s ruined body and possibly advance her cultivation. Yun Che forces an intimate union despite her initial resistance; the transfer restores the injuries that had left her facing death or permanent paralysis, and their daughter is conceived. Yuechan leaves the trial alive and later crosses fully into the Emperor Profound Realm, but the encounter binds her future to Yun Che in ways that neither Frozen Cloud law nor her practiced detachment can contain. Tournament, grief, and exile

Half a year after leaving Yun Che, Yuechan attends the Blue Wind Ranking Tournament under the pretext of observing the younger generation. Her chaotic ice aura when he appears exposes how deeply the trial changed her. She nevertheless tries to restore their distance, insisting that their debt is settled, before intervening when Fen Moli attempts to kill him. Her defense is not an empty gesture: even before her confirmed Emperor breakthrough, her mastery and battle experience let her confront a veteran half-step Emperor and establish her as one of the tournament’s most dangerous senior figures. When Yun Che is apparently killed beneath Heavenly Sword Villa’s Heaven’s Punishment Sword, Yuechan’s restraint collapses. She attacks the seal with ice lotuses until grief makes her vomit blood and lose consciousness. A physician then discovers her pregnancy. Rather than deny the child or allow Frozen Cloud’s cold art to destroy it, Yuechan returns to the Asgard, disperses the Frozen Cloud Arts she has cultivated for decades, and kneels for permission to leave. She is not forcibly crippled: Gong Yuxian later stresses that Yuechan makes the choice herself, placing the life she carries above her art, rank, and reputation. Yuechan also severs her contract with her Snow Phoenix so that the Asgard cannot trace her. Immediately after her departure, assassins arranged by Xuanyuan Yufeng ambush her in the Snow Region of Extreme Ice. Although she retains Emperor Profound power after abolishing the art, her pregnancy and unstable aura leave her badly disadvantaged; a blizzard and the nearby Snow Phoenix allow her to escape. The attack wounds the unborn child, forcing Yuechan to spend what remains of her profound energy protecting it while she searches for a refuge beyond the reach of the sects hunting her. Disappearance and the raising of Yun Wuxin

Remembering Yun Che’s stories about an isolated Phoenix settlement, Yuechan travels to the Ten Thousand Beasts Mountain Range. The Phoenix barrier opens for the unborn child’s inherited bloodline, and the clan shelters her inside its hidden land. Yuechan builds a small bamboo home and withdraws even from most of her protectors, having learned that trust can expose both her and her child to danger. To save the injured fetus she continually forces out blood essence and origin power until her reserves are exhausted and her profound veins wither, but she succeeds in giving birth to Yun Wuxin and raises her in safety. (Chapters 1364–1365)

The cost leaves Yuechan completely without profound strength. Cold energy accumulated during decades of Frozen Cloud cultivation remains in her mortal body, making her frail and vulnerable to the mountain’s cold, but she regards Wuxin’s survival as worth the loss. Although unable to demonstrate advanced arts, she gives her daughter foundational instruction; Wuxin reaches the ninth level of the Emperor Profound Realm at eleven despite the hidden village’s limited resources. Yuechan also tells her that her father is dead, shielding the child from the uncertainty and grief of waiting for a man Yuechan herself believes lost forever. (Chapters 1364–1367 and 1373)

For years Yun Che searches the Profound Sky Continent without finding her. Jasmine’s spiritual searches fail even at lower realm thresholds because Yuechan is no longer on that continent and no longer possesses the Emperor aura expected of her; the failure leads Yun Che to fear that she is dead or has been permanently crippled. The same disappearance protects Yuechan from the forces that once pursued her. Only after Yun Che is stranded without cultivation on the Azure Cloud Continent does chance lead him through the Phoenix barrier and into the bamboo grove where mother and daughter have lived. Reunion and restoration

Yuechan and Yun Che recognize each other immediately after nearly twelve years apart. She introduces him to Wuxin as the girl’s father, ending the separation that has defined all three lives. Yuechan recounts the ambush and the sacrifice of her origin power without resentment, then joins Yun Che’s wider family. Her former severity has softened into the patience of a mother, but her quiet self-command remains: she accepts the family’s sympathy while stating that the hidden years were neither bitter nor regretted because Wuxin survived. (Chapters 1364–1366 and 1373–1374)

Su Ling’er finds that Yuechan’s profound veins are withered rather than destroyed and that the dangerous cold can be removed. Feng Xue’er can therefore restore the veins, and Yun Che later uses Divine Water of Life to carry Yuechan into the divine way. The exact numbered realm is not stated. The treatment returns a future in cultivation that Yuechan had long surrendered, but her story thereafter emphasizes recovery, family, and stewardship rather than battles or continued realm advances. With Wuxin old enough to live independently, Yuechan chooses to return to Frozen Cloud Immortal Palace. Murong Qianxue and Chu Yueli ask her to take the highest seat; she initially refuses and accepts the vice palace mastership instead. By the later imperial era she is identified as the Frozen Cloud Palace Master and addressed within the sect as Great Palace Master, indicating that she eventually assumes leadership. Her return closes the divide created by her exile without undoing the choice that caused it: she comes back as Wuxin’s mother and Yun Che’s wife, not as the emotionless fairy Frozen Cloud once demanded. Life in Emperor Yun’s era

After Yun Che returns from conquering the God Realm, Yuechan lives openly among his wives and continues her work at Frozen Cloud Immortal Palace. She speaks to Chi Wuyao as an equal member of the household and supplies the empress with a detailed account of Qingyue’s early life. Her insistence that Chi Wuyao explain what happened in return shows that Yuechan still considers Qingyue her disciple and responsibility, even after the original Asgard and nearly all of Qingyue’s possessions have been destroyed. Yuechan’s last direct appearance finds her and Chu Yueli overseeing the rebuilt palace when Yun Che arrives seeking a surviving trace of Qingyue. Yuechan answers his questions, then lowers herself beside him and asks what has happened rather than pressing him for an explanation he cannot yet give. She remains alive on Blue Pole Star, restored to the divine way, reunited with her family, and serving as Frozen Cloud Immortal Palace’s palace master; no subsequent cultivation advancement or change in that status is established. Appearance and personality

Chu Yuechan is renowned as the Fairy of Frozen Beauty and, for decades, as Blue Wind’s number one beauty. She has snow-white skin, dark hair, crystalline eyes, and an ethereal bearing commonly likened to moonlight, ice, or a celestial descended into the mortal world. Her preferred white robes and the ice auroras produced by her art reinforce that image. Even after twelve years without profound strength, hardship leaves no obvious mark on her face, though her weakened body is sensitive to cold and later shows signs of illness from accumulated cold energy. Her early demeanor is distant, proud, and disciplined by the Frozen Heart Arts. She speaks little, avoids worldly contact, and believes emotional attachment threatens the purity demanded by her sect. The Dragon God trial reveals that this reserve coexists with responsibility and courage: she would rather die than make Yun Che sacrifice himself for her, remembers a forgotten defense when he can no longer fight, and spends the remainder of her strength protecting him in return. Her public intervention against Fen Moli similarly shows that her sense of justice can override both discretion and sect distance. (Chapters 184–190 and 222–223)

Motherhood changes the expression of Yuechan’s character rather than its foundation. Her resolve becomes protective instead of ascetic, enabling her to abandon everything she once considered indispensable and endure isolation without regret. With Wuxin she is gentle, attentive, and patient; with Yun Che she retains a cool directness that can include concern, jealousy, and dry disapproval. In her later palace role she combines both selves—the composure of the Fairy of Frozen Beauty and the emotional honesty learned through exile and reunion. Abilities and cultivation

Frozen Cloud Arts and Frozen Heart Arts

Before her exile, Yuechan is one of Frozen Cloud Asgard’s most accomplished cultivators. She reaches the sixth stage of both the Frozen Cloud Arts and Frozen Heart Arts, with the former’s Realm of Heavenly Snow Invocation allowing her to call wind, snow, and pervasive cold into a battlefield. She forms ice lotuses for direct attack, projects ice profound energy at range, flies through the air, and can release a partial Frozen Cloud Domain that turns the surrounding environment to her advantage while restricting an opponent’s movement and senses. Her experience with these arts is sufficient that Xia Qingyue, despite greater raw strength, would initially lose to her in a battle of technique. (Chapters 202, 222–226, 237–238, 275, and 280)

Her original mastery has firm limits. At half-step Emperor she cannot pass the sixth stage or manifest more than an incomplete domain; the seventh stage and a complete domain normally require true Emperor Profound cultivation. Pregnancy makes the intensely cold art dangerous to her unborn child, so Yuechan disperses it rather than continue circulating it. Even though Emperor profound strength initially remains in her body, the accumulated cold later becomes harmful after she has exhausted her origin power and lost the cultivation that once controlled it. Zeroth Aurora and combat ability

Zeroth Aurora is a forbidden Frozen Cloud technique powerful enough for Yuechan to kill a flood dragon when she is otherwise cornered by two of them. The price is catastrophic: its use destroys or ruins her profound veins and leaves her helpless against the surviving beast. The technique is therefore a last act of mutual destruction rather than a repeatable combat option, and nothing establishes that Yuechan uses it again after her restoration. At half-step Emperor, Yuechan can block Fen Moli’s attempt to kill Yun Che and confront the veteran cultivator directly. After entering the Emperor Profound Realm, her combat experience and Frozen Cloud mastery remain superior to the newly advanced Xia Qingyue’s even though Qingyue possesses one level more raw profound strength. Her later divine-way restoration places her far above her former mortal realm in cultivation, but no post-restoration battle or numbered level demonstrates how much of her old combat repertoire she retains. Her current combat ceiling must therefore remain unspecified. (Chapters 222–223, 227, 275, and 1500)

Barriers, instruction, and resilience

The Frozen Soul Bead entrusted to Yuechan by her master releases a Frozen Soul Barrier lasting as long as ten hours and impervious to attacks below the Sky Profound Realm. It is a consumable safeguard rather than an inherent technique, but her decision to use it saves both her and Yun Che during the Dragon God trial. Yuechan also has the perception to identify cultivation levels after losing her own power and enough knowledge to provide Wuxin with foundational training despite the hidden village’s poor cultivation environment. Her greatest demonstrated endurance is not an offensive ability. After being wounded while pregnant, she continuously converts blood essence and origin power into protection for Wuxin until her profound veins wither, then survives childbirth in a condition that should have been fatal. Divine Water of Life later restores her to the divine way, but the narrative gives no exact realm, new technique, or continued advancement after that restoration. By her latest appearance she is healthy enough to lead Frozen Cloud Immortal Palace, while her precise strength remains deliberately unmeasured. (Chapters 1365, 1373, 1500, and 1917)

Their intimate union begins through his force despite her initial resistance, but she later chooses him openly: she saves him from Fen Moli, breaks down at his apparent death, preserves their child, and lives as his wife after their reunion. • Yun Wuxin: Wuxin is the center of Yuechan’s life after leaving Frozen Cloud Asgard. Yuechan sacrifices her art, blood essence, origin power, and place in the profound world to keep her alive, then raises and teaches her in the hidden Phoenix settlement for eleven years. • Chi Wuyao: Chi approaches Yuechan as a fellow wife rather than an imperial subordinate and seeks her knowledge of Xia Qingyue. Yuechan respects Chi’s position but refuses a one-sided interrogation, agreeing only after Chi promises to explain Qingyue’s later fate in return. (Chapter 1885)
