Su Ling’er

Su Ling'er is Yun Che's devoted partner from his first life on the Azure Cloud Continent and, after the Mirror of Samsara alters causality, the woman he finds again as a child in the present timeline. In the former life she cared for him while hatred consumed him and died after his neglect left her unprotected. His second chance to save her turns one of his deepest regrets into a renewed family bond.

Biography

Memory of a first life

In Yun Che's first life as the Medical Saint's disciple Yun Gu, Ling'er becomes his companion on the Azure Cloud Continent. She cooks, washes, gathers medicine, and remains beside him even as persecution and the loss of his master drive him toward revenge. He recognizes her devotion only after obsession has made him cruel and inattentive to the danger surrounding her. (Chapter 193; Chapters 260–263)

Ling'er dies in that former life, leaving Yun Che with a regret heavier than many of the injuries done directly to him. He remembers not only her death but the ordinary patience he failed to value while it was available. That memory survives rebirth and shapes his conviction that strength is meaningless if it arrives too late to protect someone who trusted him. (Chapters 193 and 260–262)

Meeting the child Ling'er

During the Heavenly Sword Villa's exploration of the Heaven Basin Secret Realm, Yun Che is transported to the Azure Cloud Continent at an earlier point in its history. He meets ten-year-old Su Ling'er and recognizes her name, features, scar, voice, and mannerisms. The impossible encounter convinces him that the place is not a simple illusion and that the girl before him is the earlier self of the woman he lost. (Chapters 260–263)

Ling'er trusts him quickly and introduces him to the conflict around her father Su Hengshan and the Grandwake Clan. Yun Che intervenes against the Blackwood Stronghold, publicly claims a future bond with her, and gives her a brief period of safety and happiness in the bamboo forest. He then vanishes when the secret-realm displacement ends, leaving Ling'er with a promise and memories that no one else can explain. (Chapters 264–273 and 287–288)

Rescue on the Azure Cloud Continent

Years later in the present timeline, Yun Che returns to the Azure Cloud Continent and searches for Ling'er. The Grandwake Clan's internal betrayal and outside enemies have again placed her and Su Hengshan in danger. Unlike his former self, he now arrives before the loss becomes irreversible, using the power and knowledge gained across two lives to break the sequence that once ended in her death. (Chapters 891–895)

Ling'er retains the emotional imprint of their childhood meeting and recognizes that Yun Che is the person who once appeared and disappeared from her world. Their reunion validates years of waiting that others could not understand. After Su Hengshan's crisis is resolved, Yun Che brings her into the wider family he has built rather than leaving her exposed to the same isolation that doomed their first life together. A place on Blue Pole Star

Ling'er moves from the Azure Cloud Continent into Yun Che's household and forms relationships with the women and relatives already surrounding him. Her medical familiarity and calm domestic manner let her contribute without competing for public rank. She understands that the man she loves now carries memories, marriages, and duties absent from their former life, and chooses the renewed bond with full awareness that it cannot reproduce the past exactly. (Chapters 919 and 933–940)

When Yun Che departs for the God Realm, Ling'er remains on Blue Pole Star with the family. This separation differs from the first life's abandonment because he leaves openly for survival and advancement, while she has a protected home and a promise of return. Even so, the uncertainty of divine travel renews the fear that their second chance can still be taken away. (Chapters 939–940 and 1127)

Homecoming and apparent annihilation

Yun Che's return from the God Realm allows Ling'er to share the quiet family life he repeatedly describes as his desired future. Her history makes the reunion especially significant: he is finally able to cherish the ordinary care he once overlooked. She also serves as a healer within the household, a role that connects her to the gentler part of his own medical inheritance. (Chapters 1362–1373)

The Moon God Realm's attack appears to destroy Blue Pole Star and everyone on it. Yun Che believes Ling'er has died a second time, now along with his entire family, turning an old regret into the apparent proof that even his greatest power could not change the outcome. In reality, Shui Meiyin moves Blue Pole Star with the World Piercer before the destruction lands. (Chapters 1499–1501 and 1634)

Reunion with the Northern emperor

Ling'er survives while the planet remains hidden and reunites with Yun Che after his conquest of the Northern Divine Region. She receives a man transformed by grief and vengeance, but her presence also demonstrates that the loss driving him was built on a false premise. The reunion restores the second life he thought had repeated his first life's most painful failure. (Chapters 1634 and 1890–1893)

She returns to the protected family life of Blue Pole Star rather than seeking a position in the new imperial order. Her importance lies in the continuity between Yun Che the hunted healer, Yun Che the reborn cultivator, and Yun Che the emperor: Ling'er has loved versions of him on both continents and remembers the cost when hatred displaces care. (Chapters 1890–1893)

During the Abyss separation

At their farewell before Yun Che is stranded in the Abyss, Ling'er remains on Blue Pole Star with the rest of his family. She cannot follow or contact him across that boundary, so the latest separation again places the burden of return on Yun Che. Her survival and safety remain among the facts he must protect by concealing his origin and finding a route back. (Chapter 1976)

The two-life history gives that waiting a distinctive meaning. Ling'er has already endured one timeline in which Yun Che recognized her worth too late and another in which he came back in time to save her. Her current status preserves that hard-won correction, while the unresolved Abyss conflict keeps their second chance dependent on his eventual return. (Chapter 1976)

Appearance and personality

Ling'er is first seen directly as a ten-year-old girl in mild green clothing, with delicate features, a bright voice, and a scar that helps Yun Che confirm her identity. As an adult she retains the gentle expression and understated beauty fixed in his memories of the former timeline. (Chapters 260–265)

She is patient, nurturing, and steadfast, with practical skill in household work and medicine. Those qualities do not mean she lacks will: as a child she trusts her own recognition of Yun Che despite his impossible appearance, and as an adult she accepts a place in his complicated family without surrendering the singular history between them. Her forgiveness deepens his remorse rather than excusing the neglect of his first life. (Chapters 263–273, 891–919, and 1890–1893)

Abilities and cultivation

Ling'er learns medical and herbal skills suited to the Azure Cloud Continent and later benefits from Yun Che's resources. Her value as a healer comes from practiced care and familiarity with medicines rather than overwhelming combat power. Within the household, those skills complement Yun Che's inheritance from Yun Gu and give her a constructive role during long periods away from conflict. (Chapters 263–273, 891–919, and 1362)

She possesses profound cultivation sufficient for health and longevity after joining Yun Che's family, but the scoped events do not establish a complete sequence of formal breakthroughs. She is not treated as a front-line fighter against divine-realm enemies and relies on the household's stronger cultivators and planetary protections during major wars. (Chapters 919–940 and 1362–1501)

• Yun Che: Her partner across two lives. His failure to protect her in the former timeline and successful rescue in the present one make their relationship an embodiment of rebirth and responsibility.
