Dongfang Heyun is a cloud-vapor spirit blessed by the Dragon Monarch who serves the Eastern Sea dragons. (Chapter 715)

Biography

The pursuit across the sea

When Dongfang Heyun first confronts Li Xizhi, he rises out of seawater and pursues him across the ocean. Xizhi uses formations, illusions, and changes of direction to escape, while Heyun adapts, breaks through the barriers, and tracks him through his feathered robe. The chase shows both Heyun’s overwhelming advantage and his ability to recognize an opponent’s ingenuity. (Chapters 694–697)

Service to the Dragon Clan

Heyun later explains that the Dragon Monarch blessed him and that he was born from cloud and vapor; he serves the Eastern Sea dragons with formal courtesy. He becomes a trusted guide and adviser to Li Zhouwei, explaining the Dragon Clan’s concerns over the White Qilin bloodline and escorting him through the great void after his long cultivation. In later court conversation, Heyun also shares knowledge of ancient Fruition Attainments and the Sword Dao. (Chapters 715, 1256–1258, 1550)

Appearance and personality

Heyun takes the form of a refined young man with neatly arranged hair and immaculate blue-and-white robes. He observes precise courtesies and remains composed even while pursuing an enemy; his attention to his appearance is unusually deliberate. (Chapters 694, 715, 963)

Abilities and cultivation

Born of cloud and vapor, Heyun can disperse into mist and reform, move through the air, and manipulate nearby water. During his pursuit of Xizhi, he shifts a talisman formation, hardens seawater into a wall, and uses pearls to unleash attacks. The costs and limits of these abilities remain unknown. (Chapters 694–697)
