Aurelia

Aurelia, first known publicly as Aur, is the daughter of Keoza and the royal heir of the Crystal Palace. The identity seen by most of Elysium is a handsome male Dragon Prince; Aurelia privately reveals that she is a Dragon Princess only after her friendship with Lux has become romantic. Her protection of Lux, preservation of his erased memory, diplomatic handling of the divided Dragon kingdoms, and pregnancy make her one of the people who turns his alliances into a lasting family.

Biography

The Dragon kingdoms and the Abyss

Aurelia enters the Gate of Famine under the public name Aur, leading the Crystal Palace expedition while four Saints protect her. She initially wants to measure Lux's strength, yet his Dragon Conqueror's Majesty produces a familiarity that checks that impulse. When an invisible Argonaut-Ranked chameleon threatens the group, she accepts Lux's plan, uses a Pseudo-Demigod crystal scepter to petrify the creature's tongue, and then lets him guide the expedition. The choice shows a future ruler willing to defer to useful expertise rather than turn first contact into a contest of pride. (Chapter 660)

That cooperation survives harder tests. Aurelia triples Crystal Dragon's Breath against a Dreadnaught-Ranked Earth Turtle, only for the World Boss to block the blast and turn the resulting crystal wall into lethal shrapnel; the reversal demonstrates that inherited power cannot replace coordination. She later returns home only after Piccoro promises to bring Lux to the Crystal Palace. When they meet again, she supports receiving visitors from Karshvar Draconis rather than perpetuating the adults' feud, then recognizes that Valerie is also disguised. Their guarded exchange ends with Aurelia prioritizing Lux's safety and proposing diplomacy between their kingdoms, beginning a friendship shaped by parallel secrets and the same affection. Aurelia's growing trust is also revised by later knowledge of her family. During the dungeon campaign, the Abyssal Duke Zelken suppresses her soul and possesses her body; the sudden leap from Initiate to A-Ranker belongs to the invader, not to Aurelia. Lux exposes the possession, Keoza intervenes with unusual fury, and Gaap extracts the Duke's soul before it can destroy hers. Aurelia does not yet publicly explain that Keoza is her father, but his reaction and the Crystal Palace's subsequent deference to Lux reveal that her alliance with the Half-Elf is tied to the missing Dragon King's plans as well as her own judgment. The Divine Army reckoning

At the Crystal Palace, Aurelia gives Lux shelter while the Divine Army's representatives openly wait for a chance to capture him outside its borders. Her concern is no longer merely institutional. Hearing about his fiancées and other women makes her jealous enough to lose her composure and crystallize him with her breath, although he breaks free. At Gaap's execution she and Valerie must maintain formal distance because of the hostility between their kingdoms, then stand powerless while hundreds of Saints move against Lux. Aurelia's clenched fists and restraint reflect the limits of her position: royal status gives protection and information, but not the strength to overturn a battlefield containing dozens of Supremes. Hereswith later brings Aurelia and Valerie to Espoir Frieden to help a grieving Lux. During a private drinking gathering, wine intended to compromise Hereswith exposes the group to an aphrodisiac that the narration says clouds common sense and lowers inhibition. Lux offers to help Aurelia endure the effect without intercourse because he does not want her to make a choice she will regret. Aurelia answers by revealing her real name, admitting uncertainty about whether the feeling is already love while clearly stating that she wants him, and asking to become his partner. After they become lovers, Aurelia resumes the work that her Aur identity requires. She represents her faction in negotiations at Espoir Frieden and returns mentally exhausted only after the parties agree to a mutual-defense treaty. Lux's private comfort contrasts with the male royal role she continues to perform in public. She also joins Heaven's Gate, allowing the couple to travel and communicate through the guild while concealing both its Mythical status and their relationship. By the time Lux meets the Divine Army's leaders again, Aurelia speaks alongside his other partners as someone invested in both his personal survival and the coalition whose stability she helped negotiate. Abyssal invasion and broken memories

Aurelia's relationship with Lux becomes part of a wider household before it can become public. She joins Iris, Cai, and the other women in deciding how to handle Princess Anastasia's unilateral marriage claim; as a royal woman, she admires the Dwarf's courage but refuses to let her bypass the others. Because Heaven's Gate is stationed in Crystal Palace territory, Aurelia becomes Lux's most frequent visitor after completing her duties. She and Valerie later use a supposed diplomatic friendship between Aur and the Karshvar princess as cover for visits that also let them see Lux, turning the image of a possible royal union into protection for their actual relationships. When an Oracle warns that the Abyssal invasion is seven days away, Aurelia attends Lux's emergency council with Hereswith and Lady Augustina. Lux leaves the floating fortress to help defend her homeland while he fights in Solais, linking her safety to the distribution of his limited forces. Daniel's law-based attack then erases Lux from almost every mind. Keoza encases Aurelia and Queen Evangeline in crystal at the decisive moment; because this last-resort Crystal Dragon state blocks mental as well as physical attacks, Aurelia retains her memories. Hereswith later identifies her as one of only four lovers who still remember Lux, leaving Aurelia with both the comfort of recognition and responsibility for those who have lost it. The rescue from the Abyss and the final war

When Lux prepares to enter the Abyss for Aurora's soul, he summons Aurelia and the few lovers who remember him for a possible final farewell. She accepts his decision, promises to help Ari care for Valerie and Ali, and continues serving as a bridge between an absent Lux and the women whose memories are sealed. After Aurelia and Valerie discover that they are pregnant, Aurelia takes the initiative before either Dragon court can turn the pregnancies into scandal. She proposes shelter under Hereswith at the World Tree, offers a public explanation that protects both kingdoms, and insists that Valerie had consciously asked to bear Lux's child rather than letting the amnesiac princess be treated as a passive victim. Aurelia then confronts King Azza directly. She credits Lux's sacrifice with closing the Abyssal gateways, argues that his actions saved both Dragon kingdoms from enslavement, and defends him as the father of her child even while he is absent. Keoza's appearance confirms her parentage and supports her judgment, while his displayed memories persuade the rulers to shelter the royal women and unite their forces. Waiting at Espoir Frieden, Aurelia seeks updates from Hereswith and reassures Valerie that Lux will return; once he does, her pregnancy forces both Dragon Kings to treat him as family rather than a useful outsider. Before the last passage through Heaven's Gate, Aurelia kisses him, promises that she and their unborn child will wait, and survives to see the fallen restored after Daniel's defeat. Open Heaven’s Gate

Peace places Aurelia's hidden life inside an openly shared family. She receives Lux's first daughter Dia with Iris, Cai, Valerie, Ali, and Ari, and watching the infant makes her anticipate holding her own child. Keoza and Lux speak as father and son during the later fishing trip; Aurelia has told Lux that she wants two children because his wider household will already be large, and Keoza looks forward to his first grandchild. The discussion also confirms that Aurelia later reaffirmed her earlier choice while sober and was happy when the unusually rare Dragon conception succeeded. (Chapters 1225–1226)

Six months later, Keoza escorts Aurelia down the aisle at Lux's wedding. She is one of ten brides who exchange vows and receive the same public recognition, ending the separation between Aur's royal image and Aurelia's private partnership without the story recording a formal abdication or public succession. In the latest household scene, she and Valerie share Tuesday nights with Lux under the schedule negotiated by his wives. Her conclusion is therefore domestic rather than martial: the isolated heir who once struggled to make a friend becomes Lux's acknowledged wife, a link between two Dragon courts, and part of a family whose members plan their future together. Appearance and personality

Under the Aur identity, Aurelia appears as an angelic, exceptionally handsome young man with blue eyes and two glittering Crystal Dragon horns. Her hair is called blue at her introduction but silver in the later scene that reveals her sex, an unresolved descriptive inconsistency in the supplied corpus. She dresses and carries herself as the prince expected to lead the Crystal Palace, wears men's clothing, and binds her chest so that even close companions assume she is male. Her feminine identity does not involve a magical transformation demonstrated on-page; the deception depends on presentation, clothing, public expectation, and the privacy maintained by those who can see through it. Aurelia is observant, politically educated, protective, and accustomed to weighing the Crystal Palace's future before acting. Her reserve comes partly from being guarded throughout her life by her mother, Augustina, and Saints, which leaves her uncertain about ordinary friendship when Lux arrives. She can be jealous, competitive, and privately insecure, yet she repeatedly chooses measured cooperation over inherited hostility. By the final crisis she is willing to oppose a Dragon King in his own throne room, not from impulsive pride, but because protecting Valerie, Lux, their children, and both kingdoms has become more important than preserving a flawless royal image. Crystal Dragon abilities

Crystal Dragon's Breath

Aurelia exhales a mist filled with crystal shards that transforms matter in its path into crystal. Channeled through her crystal scepter, it travels for hundreds of meters and petrifies terrain, vegetation, and an Argonaut monster's tongue; a direct exposure can immobilize Lux until he breaks the shell himself. The power is useful for ranged restraint, battlefield alteration, and forcing an enemy to discard an affected limb. It is not an unconditional kill: Argonaut Field and World Bosses can break free after several minutes, and stronger enemies can block or redirect the crystallized material. (Chapters 660, 697, 914)

Artifacts can amplify the breath, but also define its limits. The Pseudo-Demigod crystal scepter used in the Domain of the Fallen can be activated only five times a day and is reliable only against ordinary and Alpha Argonauts, so Aurelia avoids wasteful engagements. A separate amplification artifact triples the attack against the Dreadnaught Earth Turtle, yet the monster blocks it with an earthen wall and turns the new crystal into indiscriminate shrapnel. The technique therefore develops through tactical caution rather than a documented rank breakthrough; its latest direct use still shows Lux escaping the crystallization rather than Aurelia acquiring a stronger formal stage. Crystal body and defensive stasis

Crystal Dragons are described as already being made of crystal, giving Aurelia a racial state distinct from the temporary coating produced by her breath. She and Queen Evangeline can nevertheless enter a deeper statue-like stasis as a last resort. The state seals the body against physical and mental attacks that could otherwise kill or alter them, but taking that form removes them from active combat until the casing breaks. A Dragon King with the proper Crystal authority can impose the protection on them, as Keoza does during Daniel's attack. (Chapter 1105)

The most consequential application is mental rather than offensive. Keoza's stasis prevents the law that erases Lux from rewriting Aurelia's memory, while Valerie and most of Lux's other loved ones succumb. Flight, senses, and royal tactics

As a Dragon, Aurelia can manifest crystal-like wings for flight. She recognizes that Valerie's visible face is artificial and later senses the exceptional Dragon blood in Lux's body, identifying it as more than an ordinary trace. These faculties support movement and social judgment, but they are not perfect truth detection: Lux, not Aurelia, pinpoints the invisible Argonaut chameleon, and Aurelia does not identify Valerie by name at first, instead inferring her royal standing from Lady Faustina's presence and behavior. Her combat effectiveness is strongly team-dependent. Saints ordinarily guard her, she accepts Lux's scouting and plans when entering unknown territory, and Gaap and Keoza must save her soul when Zelken possesses her.
