Aurora

Aurora is the adopted princess of Agartha whose soul bears the curse of Misfortune's Beloved. Imprisoned because her presence spreads disastrous luck, she meets Lux across a dreamlike connection, survives the Ranker trial built from her guilt, and learns to direct the curse that once ruled her life. Later revelations identify her as Queen Rhiannon's daughter and the reincarnated Goddess of Solais who opposed Daniel; by the endpoint she has chosen mortal family life over returning to divinity. Appearance and personality

Aurora is a long-haired, pink-haired beauty whose first physical meeting with Lux reveals the effects of prolonged confinement: she is thin and visibly malnourished, although her faintly glowing body makes her resemble a solitary star in the prison's darkness. Her successful Ranker trial remakes her body into a healthy, energetic young woman. Her Transcendent Succubus form retains her pink hair while adding horns, bat-like wings, and a spade-tipped tail; the corpus repeatedly emphasizes her resemblance to Queen Rhiannon. Isolation initially leaves Aurora innocent about ordinary relationships, painfully self-conscious about the harm attached to her presence, and ready to keep others at a distance for their protection. Biography

Heaven’s Gate and the continental wars

Aurora's story first intersects Heaven's Gate remotely, after the birth of Lux's Heaven's Necromancer class lets the two meet in a lightless space. She introduces herself as a girl who has never seen the sun and asks only that Lux remember she existed. Although she warns that finding her will bring misfortune, Lux insists on learning her location. Her answer—Agartha—turns an apparently fleeting vision into a promise of rescue and gives her a reason to endure the loneliness surrounding her. (Chapter 767)

Lux's later projection returns with warmth and two tiny skeletons, Zane and Zeke, who are unaffected by her curse. Aurora names them, contracts with them, and accepts their companionship rather than surrendering to despair. Meanwhile, Lux enters Agartha despite repeated warnings that seeing her can condemn a visitor to years of bad luck. The kingdom's hostility reveals that Aurora is both royal daughter and political outcast, while Shayna's continued love proves that the exile has not erased every family bond. The Divine Army reckoning

Lux reaches Aurora in the Pantheon of Exile carrying a means to contain the curse. She creates a barrier to keep him safe and hesitates even after receiving Fortuna's Tears, making her freedom depend on an act of trust rather than a forced extraction. Once she takes his hand, the grief suppressed through years of confinement breaks loose. She then explicitly chooses the Surface World over returning to a royal family whose citizens may still hate her, hoping to begin a life in which her presence need not injure everyone nearby. As Aurora settles among Lux's partners, her former desperation makes her notably compassionate toward newcomers. Rather than condemning Princess Anastasia's bold attempt to secure Lux, she recognizes the courage required to reach for a desired future after prolonged loneliness. She also accompanies Lux and Adeline through the latter's return to painful places, offering quiet companionship while Adeline confronts fear linked to her past. Aurora reaches C-Rank before traveling through Ashe Entheas with Lux, giving her enough formal strength to defend herself against ordinary opponents but not a High-Ranker. When Agartha's defenses begin to fail, Aurora leaves Shayna with their siblings and unseals the full force of Misfortune's Beloved. She converts gathered misfortunes into a lightning storm whose strikes curse the Abyssal attackers, but the effect is indiscriminate enough to hit Aurora herself. Nyarlathotep targets her to end that threat, and she activates the Pillar within her soul to stop his suicidal attack from erasing the kingdom. Lux crosses the sealed boundary to recover her, finding Aurora reborn from a cocoon as a Calamity-ranked Transcendent Succubus. Her reunion with Rhiannon and infant half-sister Dia gives her the birth family she never knew. When her memories return, Aurora understands herself as the former Goddess of Solais whose resistance to Daniel had caused countless cursed reincarnations, but she defines the new life by love rather than divine grievance. Aurora spends Lux's recovery caring for him beside Rhiannon and Dia, then supports his resolve to face Daniel by reminding him that both worlds will fight with him and that his children deserve peace. She returns home holding his hand after the Five Pillars restore the fallen, completing the movement from a girl asking to be remembered to someone who freely chooses where she belongs. Open Heaven’s Gate

In the rebuilt Heaven's Gate household, Aurora acts as the bridge between Rhiannon, Dia, and Lux's other partners. She introduces her mother without concealing Rhiannon's position as ruler of the Abyss's Thirteenth Layer, then places Dia in the other women's arms so affection can replace suspicion. Aurora shares their desire for children and treats the existing babies as family, showing that the complicated ancestry created by the war no longer isolates her from either her adoptive or birth relatives. Aurora's postwar peace includes full control of the curse that once governed every relationship. Misfortune's Beloved

Aurora's signature curse originates in her former divine life. After opposing Daniel's attempted ascension, she loses her divinity and is condemned to carry the world's bad luck through repeated mortal lives. Before she learns control, merely meeting her can spread persistent misfortune to others, requiring years of ritual cleansing; Fortuna's Tears suppresses that outward infection but does not erase the power. The curse can manifest through seemingly accidental failures, escaped monsters, or focused auras, which makes distinguishing random chance from deliberate action difficult. Formal training expands Aurora's control. At D-Rank she can remove bad luck from twenty creatures each month, placing a strict quota on restorative use. At Agartha she invokes a much larger form, converting gathered misfortunes into cursing lightning; this saves the city from several attackers, yet the storm also strikes and injures her. Aurora's Ranker trial expresses her hopeful self through golden flames, flight, great physical strength, and combat beside Zane and Zeke, while the hostile Succubus self uses purple fire and conjured swords. These displays take place inside the trial and represent real potential, but they should not be treated as an unrestricted catalog of everyday spells. Outside it, her wings provide high-speed flight, and her later Succubus body demonstrates telepathy and telekinesis for communication and precise manipulation. The heart-shaped Pillar of Love is bound within Aurora's soul. Its authority can bend the world's laws and, when awakened against Nyarlathotep's final attack, protects Agartha at the cost of her life. The sacrifice reveals why Lux's earlier suspicion that she housed a Pillar was correct, but Aurora does not thereafter operate as an active goddess: rebirth turns her into a Transcendent Succubus, and she later declines Lux's offer to ascend. Her old divinity contributes to Lux's Supreme breakthrough through her Yin essence, yet her own latest chosen state is powerful mortality with controlled misfortune. Power progression

The first recorded advancement makes Aurora's curse partly reparative: D-Rank adds a monthly capacity to release victims and supports the controlled aura experiments that follow. C-Rank is explicitly appraised during her journey with Lux and gives her ordinary self a stronger baseline, but it does not remove the rank gap against High-Rankers or explain her later transformation. Her death and rebirth introduce a different classification: the cocoon produces a Calamity-ranked Transcendent Succubus. Queen Rhiannon and the royal family of Agartha

Rhiannon is Aurora's birth mother, whose blood-mark helps Lux locate her reborn soul.
