Shangguan Fei’er

Shangguan Fei'er is the second of the Shangguan triplets, a close-combat specialist from Heaven's Expanse Palace, and one of Zhou Weiqing's wives. Initially known as the palace's mischievous Little Demon Girl, she becomes the Peerless Battalion's chief instructor and converts an elite personal fighting style into training that materially strengthens an entire army.

Biography

Revenge beneath a borrowed face

Fei'er grows up in Heaven's Expanse Palace beside her elder triplet sister Shangguan Xue'er, while their mother leaves with the infant Shangguan Bing'er. Palace servants and their often-occupied father Shangguan Tianyue provide privilege but not a conventional childhood, and Fei'er responds by becoming the notorious Little Demon Girl: talented, restless, fond of disguises, and sufficiently persistent to coax God Tier masters into making a personal Legendary Set for someone other than the formal heir. Her first direct encounters with Zhou are shaped by the triplets' identical appearance. After he mistakes her for Bing'er and steals her first kiss, she treats the humiliation as a grievance she intends to settle herself. (Chapters 76, 94–95, 102, and 123)

Fei'er secretly enters the Heavenly Jewel Tournament finals under a mask and joins the ZhongTian team without authorization, intending to beat Zhou. Her six-Jeweled cultivation, Mutated Duo Physical Jewels, Consolidated wings, and clawed bracers let her overwhelm ordinary opponents at close range. Against Zhou and Wu Yuehan, however, her confidence becomes a weakness: their combination of abnormal strength, deceptive equipment, Stored Skills, and teamwork forces her off balance and injures her. She removes her disguise only when Zhou is pressing the advantage; his refusal to continue attacking someone who looks like Bing'er prevents a harsher result, while her defeat shows that individual mastery can still be countered by complementary partners and tactical misdirection. Her judgment of Zhou changes after the tournament. Fei'er sees him refuse Fei Li's offer of status and security because accepting would require him to abandon his nationality after Heavenly Bow's fall. The decision dissolves much of the resentment behind her pursuit: whatever his personal faults, he accepts responsibility for his home and will not sell that loyalty for comfort. She begins following him partly to monitor whether he betrays Bing'er, partly out of curiosity, and increasingly because she wants to see what he will build. When he prepares to enter the ZhongTian northern army alone, Fei'er insists that he take her rather than his better-known companions, placing herself inside the uncertain restoration effort instead of returning to palace life. Chief instructor among the northern ruffians

Fei'er and Zhou enter the northern army under disguises, advance through its Duelling Corner, and are sent to the isolated Ruffian Battalion. The cramped travel, false identities, and repeated fights strip away the formal distance between a Saint Land princess and the young commander she once regarded as a target. Their unarmed practice makes the difference in their bodies and methods explicit: Zhou can overpower many opponents, but Fei'er attacks joints, meridians, balance, and momentary weakness with coordination he cannot imitate. Her ability to throw him without Heavenly Energy establishes why she, rather than he, is suited to teach a large group how to survive after an enemy closes past their bows. (Chapters 116–125)

As Zhou renames and rebuilds the unit, Fei'er becomes its chief close-combat instructor. She does not soften her standards for disgraced soldiers. The ruffians fear being noticed failing more than ordinary punishment, and their blood-and-sweat drills turn dirty instincts into repeatable techniques. She also uses Heaven's Expanse resources and training knowledge to support their advancement, a contribution Tianyue later cites when confronting Zhou. The effect persists after she leaves: in mass engagements the Peerless soldiers can throw javelins, break formations, attack protected weak points, and defeat conventional heavy infantry at close quarters rather than collapsing when ranged doctrine fails. The army campaign also forces Fei'er to recognize her love for Zhou. When Shen Bu's corrosive flame appears to consume him, Fei'er loses tactical restraint and ignites the Infinite Saint Flame, accepting its cost to break away from Shen Ji and reach him. Her reaction is not a calculated attempt to win his affection; she believes he may already be dying and resolves to kill those responsible. The crisis reveals to her that his survival has become more important than the rivalry through which their relationship began. Later intimacy and jealousy deepen that attachment, but they also create guilt because Bing'er remains her sister and Zhou's acknowledged fiancée. (Chapters 130–153)

Fei'er does not solve the conflict by pretending Bing'er has no claim. When Xue'er confronts her, she admits that she has tried and failed to leave Zhou and the Peerless Battalion. Xue'er tells her that the only legitimate path is to return to Bing'er and ask for forgiveness. Fei'er agrees to go after the northern campaign stabilizes, while persuading Xue'er to take her place as instructor and watcher. By the time she departs, the battalion can function without her daily presence, and her private identity has changed with it: the palace prankster has become a trainer whose students, comrades, and chosen cause make separation painful. Sisters, restoration, and an acknowledged family

Back at Heaven's Expanse Palace, Fei'er faces Bing'er rather than allowing distance to decide the relationship. The corpus presents Bing'er as accepting that Fei'er and the others supported Zhou during the period she could not. Fei'er remains protective of her younger sister and teases Xue'er about her own changing feelings, but she no longer treats love as a private conquest. When Zhou returns for the next tournament, the three sisters coordinate access to Bing'er while her post-cultivation condition stabilizes and then rush together when they learn he is injured. Fei'er enters the altered Lustre Spatial Realm with her sisters, Zhou, and Tian'er. Her directness is important inside the group: she can rebuke Zhou, expose what others avoid saying, and still join the others in sharing danger. During the dragon crisis she deploys her Legendary Set and receives Saint Energy for emergency protection. When Xue'er confesses that Heaven's Expanse concealed the full risk, Fei'er is relieved that Zhou recognizes the sisters came with him rather than sending him into danger alone. That response helps move their relationship away from a triangle of secrets and toward a family whose disagreements do not cancel mutual trust. (Chapters 226–233)

The palace later accepts Zhou's bond with all three daughters, though Tianyue remains angry at the scale of the arrangement. Fei'er's army service becomes part of Zhou's case: she nearly dies for him, helps create the Peerless force, and makes an independent choice that cannot be reduced to a political marriage. While Bing'er accompanies Zhou to XuanTian, Fei'er and Xue'er remain tied to the tournament, palace, and restoration effort. The recovered Heavenly Bow Empire benefits from a military formation Fei'er helped train, so her contribution to restoration is institutional even when she is not physically present in the capital's decisive confrontation. Separation during XuanTian and the return to Heavenly Bow

Fei'er does not join the XuanTian expedition. Bing'er provides the married-couple cover and Wind-specialist profile suited to infiltration, while Fei'er remains on the Boundless Mainland. This separation differs from her earlier urge to follow Zhou everywhere: she accepts that a covert mission cannot accommodate every partner and that her sisters' relationships with him require their own space. References to her during the expedition remain familial rather than operational; the corpus does not assign her hidden actions in XuanTian Palace and therefore does not make her responsible for choices taken there by Zhou or Dongfang Hanyue. When Zhou and Bing'er return, Fei'er stands within the family whose approval he must secure and then moves toward Heavenly Bow with her sisters. Zhou's recovery of the Spatial Teleportation Gem strengthens Heaven's Expanse Palace, while his use of Saint Energy breaks the Fate Denying Seal over his own capital. For Fei'er, the consequence is the fulfillment of the cause that first persuaded her to leave the island: the young man who refused to renounce his country now restores it with an army she helped forge. The Blood Red Hell attack and the absorption of Heavenly Demon survivors into the new Peerless Sect create another conflict of affiliation. Fei'er was raised to regard the Heavenly Demon Sect with suspicion, yet she also understands that Zhou is creating a different institution rather than joining the old one. On learning the truth, she questions his conduct and threatens to return to Heaven's Expanse if he hides further partners or compromises their position. Once he explains that the old sect has dissolved into the Peerless Sect under his leadership, her interest replaces suspicion. The exchange shows that marriage has not erased her political judgment or her readiness to demand an explanation. (Chapters 268–270 and 766)

Heavenly King ascent and the Elf expedition

By the later corpus Fei'er has reached nine Jewels. Zhou's Galaxia Saint Energy supports the triplets' passage to Heavenly King, but Fei'er and Xue'er begin their breakthroughs almost simultaneously, causing their energy fields to interfere and exhausting the atmospheric supply. Zhou expands the available energy and regulates their attributes until both can solidify their cores. The result is a Saint-enhanced Heavenly King foundation rather than an innately pure Saint core: Fei'er gains natural flight, greater recovery, and a higher-quality energy base, but she does not acquire Zhou's Creation laws or Tian'er's four-Saint-attribute purity. Fei'er travels with Zhou and the other wives to the Elf Tribe's sealed realm. She lacks Xue'er's specific knowledge of the realm and Bing'er's extreme Wind speed, but contributes a mobile Heavenly King close-combat presence and the skepticism that keeps Zhou's bargaining grounded. Her teasing about his plan to seek a dowry is affectionate and accurate, while her readiness to enforce his promise not to kill elves helps place limits on how the group may enter. During the princess's abduction crisis, she remains part of the supporting family group rather than claiming a pursuit role the source assigns to Zhou and the Elven Queen. (Chapters 772–792)

During the creation of Zhou's eleventh Legendary Set piece, Fei'er again reacts as a protector before calculating the odds. After Xue'er is struck by concentrated Destruction Energy, Fei'er and Bing'er attack the beam together and are thrown aside. Their cores let them recover with time, but the collision demonstrates a firm limit: Saint-enhanced Heavenly Kings cannot neutralize purer Nether-derived Destruction merely through courage. Fei'er later kneels with the other wives before Duan Tianlang, silently begging him to stop a scroll-making process that is consuming Zhou's life. War among the Saint Lands and the Netherworld vigil

Fei'er accompanies the Peerless Sect to the Grand Tournament of Saint Lands. Although her Heavenly King cultivation and Legendary Equipment make her a significant fighter, the decisive duels against Heavenly Emperors and Saint Land lords go to stronger representatives. Her role is part of the Peerless formation and the family alliance connecting it to Heaven's Expanse Palace. Once Blood Red Hell and Love Valley reveal their Destruction power, the techniques Fei'er used against ordinary armies no longer determine the battle; survival depends on coordinated Saint Energy, domains, and Heavenly God-level combat. When Zhou prepares to reinforce the Netherworld seal, Fei'er volunteers with her sisters and the other wives. Zhou thanks her specifically for remaining beside him during the most difficult period of his life, recognizing the northern campaign as the foundation of their bond. He then renders the women unconscious to prevent them following. Fei'er wakes furious and frightened, using anger to resist the possibility that he has gone where she cannot help. She nevertheless obeys the Saint Land leaders' judgment that entering without pure Saint Energy would endanger him rather than save him. (Chapters 836–845)

At the abyss, Fei'er becomes the emotional support Bing'er reaches for even while Fei'er herself is trembling. When the group learns that Zhou and Tian'er have been dragged fully into the Netherworld, she abandons rivalry and promises that his return matters more than any future disagreement about his wives. Zhou eventually emerges alive, and the family accepts Hanyue rather than expelling her. Fei'er's conclusion is therefore not the victory over a romantic rival she once sought on Heavenly Jewel Island, but a broadened family held together by shared fear, work, and survival. Appearance and personality

Fei'er is physically identical to Bing'er and Xue'er, with the same exceptional beauty and build. Her distinguishing features are behavioral: her eyes are lively, her expressions change rapidly, and her body is described as more springy and explosively athletic than Bing'er's softness. She regularly uses masks, borrowed identities, and the triplets' resemblance to infiltrate teams or replace her sisters. In combat, dark-gold bracer-claws, chest armor, and wings make her silhouette more aggressive than either Bing'er's archer profile or Xue'er's sword-centered armor. Her Little Demon Girl reputation reflects mischief, boldness, and a desire to escape palace constraint, but it does not exhaust her character. Fei'er is quick to take revenge and quick to speak, yet equally quick to commit herself when she believes a person or unit deserves it. She thrives among the Peerless ruffians because their unfiltered conduct feels more genuine than the carefully controlled atmosphere of Heaven's Expanse. The same directness makes her the partner most likely to expose Zhou's evasions, threaten consequences, or turn jealousy into an explicit conversation. (Chapters 95–123, 153, and 766–772)

Fei'er's emotional weakness is impulsiveness under threat to people she loves. Zhou's apparent death triggers the Infinite Saint Flame before she has confirmed his condition, and the Destruction attack during scroll creation draws her into a collision she cannot win. Yet this quality also underlies her courage and teaching: she acts, accepts bruising contact, and expects soldiers to do the same. Over time she learns to pair impulse with responsibility—returning to seek Bing'er's consent, leaving a trained battalion able to function without her, and waiting outside the Netherworld when pursuit would only create another casualty. Abilities and cultivation

Fei'er's combat system is built around rare Mutated Duo Physical Jewels, Heaven's Expanse training, a customized God Tier Legendary Set, and exceptional unarmed technique. Unlike Xue'er, she does not abandon Stored Skills for a single weapon path; unlike Bing'er, she is most dangerous after closing the distance.

Mutated Duo Physical Jewels and close combat

Fei'er's mutated Physical Jewels produce an unusual combination of coordination and flexibility. They do not make her stronger than a Demonic Change strength specialist in a direct contest, but let her change a punch into a push, redirect herself in midair, articulate shoulders and limbs through unexpected angles, and recover balance within the instant an opponent expects commitment. At six Jewels she can contest Zhou and Little Witch together for an extended exchange; at seven she dispatches the equally ranked heavy-infantry commander Oni within a breath by piercing armor, breaking his protective energy with a corkscrew force, and driving a knee through his center. Her technique attacks structure rather than durability. She strikes the vulnerable point of an elbow, presses wrist meridians, uses an opponent's pull as leverage, and converts small losses of balance into throws. This remains useful if Consolidated Equipment and Stored Skills are sealed, making her less dependent on Jewel effects than elemental specialists such as Zhan Lingtian. Its limits are range, overwhelming physical power, and opponents whose defenses cannot be opened by precision alone. Zhou and Little Witch beat her by combining deceptive weapons, control, and teamwork; Oni falls because armor does not prevent her fingers and spiraling energy from creating a path through its joints. Personal Legendary Set

Fei'er persuades Heaven's Expanse's God Tier masters to design a specialized Legendary Set despite not being the palace heir. The earliest four pieces include long bracer-gloves with retractable seven-inch claws, body armor, and Consolidated wings. The bracers extend to her shoulders and turn close-combat movements into piercing or tearing attacks; she can retract the claws when trying not to cripple an opponent. The wings provide explosive aerial acceleration, defense when folded around her body, and sustained flight before she reaches Heavenly King. (Chapters 102–105, 113, and 130)

The set amplifies rather than replaces her physical art. Its God Protective Auras can briefly intercept higher-tier control, and its wings let her cross a battlefield fast enough to rescue or intercept, but damage or disruptive Skills can dismiss individual pieces. The Infinite Saint Flame is a secret Heaven's Expanse technique restricted to core members. Fei'er ignites a white flame tinged with blood-red when she believes Zhou has been killed, roughly doubling her pressure and adding an explosive effect to physical strikes. It lets her tear through Shen Ji's rock defenses, shatter his bracers, and force back an opponent above her current level long enough to disengage and reach Zhou. The technique resembles life-burning methods but is stated to have less severe side effects for a comparable temporary boost; “less severe” does not mean free, and its emergency framing makes it unsuitable as routine enhancement. Her broader palace education includes knowledge of high-rated Stored Skills, military medicines, disguises, and the ability to recognize techniques such as Chains of War. The source emphasizes her physical combat more than it catalogs her Elemental Jewel repertoire, so the mechanics of every later attack are not established. Heavenly King cultivation and Saint enhancement

Fei'er reaches seven Jewels during the Peerless Battalion period and nine by Zhou's return as a Heavenly Emperor. Her Heavenly King breakthrough begins alongside Xue'er's and causes interference because two cores are drawing on the same atmospheric energy. Zhou supplies a Galaxia field and six-attribute regulation so both can complete the process over three days. The resulting core contains Saint-enhanced energy and permits natural flight and self-replenishment, but the text does not name Fei'er's core or establish it as a pure Saint Nucleus Core. At Heavenly King, higher reserves and aerial freedom improve the duration and reach of her close-combat method. They do not erase tier differences or attribute counters. Pure Destruction Energy throws her and Bing'er aside during their attempted interception, and recovery requires time despite their Saint-infused cores. Her latest established state is therefore a formidable Heavenly King close-combatant with Legendary Equipment and mixed Saint Energy, not a Heavenly Emperor or an independent user of Creation law. • Zhou Weiqing: Fei'er moves from revenge-seeking opponent to traveling monitor, chief instructor, lover, and wife. Her deepest bond with him forms while building the Peerless Battalion, when admiration for his loyalty and shared work outlast the prank and grievance that first connected them.
• Shangguan Bing'er: Bing'er is Fei'er's younger triplet sister, raised apart from her. Fei'er's guilt over loving Zhou leads her to seek Bing'er's forgiveness rather than treating her gentle nature as permission to deceive her.

• Hua Feng: Hua Feng later commands the Peerless force whose close-combat foundation Fei'er created. Their contributions are complementary: her intensive instruction improves individual fighters, while his battlefield leadership deploys them at scale.
