Dongfang Hanyue

Dongfang Hanyue is the true master of XuanTian Palace, a Demon Draconian, God Tier Consolidating Equipment Master, and later the mother of Zhou Weiqing's son. She first deals with Zhou through two roles—the young artisan Dreamwake and the masked Palace Master—while he infiltrates her Saint Land for the Spatial Teleportation Gem. The masked office is shared temporarily with her mother, Dong Fang, but Dreamwake is Hanyue alone. Their mutual deception becomes mutual protection during the Terror Sea Dragon campaign, while her obligation to preserve XuanTian Palace keeps them on different continents until she crosses the sea to demand a place for their son and joins the final Saint Lands war.

Biography

Dreamwake and the shared Palace Master mask

Hanyue first appears under the pseudonym Dreamwake as one of XuanTian Palace's God Tier Consolidating Equipment Masters. She and Nie Han evaluate Zhou's apparent scroll-making miracle, recognize the value of the supposed young master, and give him materials and institutional welcome. The following day, Hanyue changes roles and receives him behind the Palace Master's full azure mask, granting him Consecrated rank while concealing her sex, age, and connection to Dreamwake. This private audience is Hanyue's first use of the mask in the supplied story. (Chapter 242)

At the public gathering that follows, Dreamwake and a masked Palace Master appear at the same time. The masked figure in that later scene is Hanyue's mother, Dong Fang, who temporarily shares the public office to help her daughter overawe the elders; it is not proof that Dreamwake and Hanyue are separate people. Appearing openly as Dreamwake, Hanyue stops the elders from pressuring Bing'er, studies Zhou's rapid multi-scroll craft, and becomes personally interested in the talent hidden beneath his cover. Hanyue then isolates Zhou in a spatial training ground and attacks him over an earlier unwanted intimate contact, limiting herself by oath to the six-Jewel level. Their duel exposes power that the Dreamwake persona had concealed: Dual Physical Jewels granting Strength and Flexibility, Alexandrite Elemental Jewels, draconic armour, and control far beyond a normal artisan. She loses the wager when she exceeds the agreed cultivation limit, but the encounter also teaches both infiltrator and Palace leader how dangerous the other is. When XuanTian Palace mobilizes against the Terror Sea Dragons, she joins the expedition as Dreamwake while her mother continues publicly as Palace Master; Hanyue is assigned to merge with the Tenebrous Demon Dragon, making her the force's central combatant. The island choice and responsibilities neither can abandon

After a Terror Sea Dragon's self-destruction strands them together, Hanyue confronts Zhou with the truth of his infiltration. He in turn identifies her as the real XuanTian Palace Master, and she gives him her actual name. Each now has leverage over the other: the critically injured Hanyue possesses the Spatial Teleportation Gem he came to steal, while Zhou is healthy enough to take it. Hanyue refuses to surrender the gem even under a threat of death. Zhou asks but will not exploit her helplessness, then uses Saint Energy to repair the meridians that the explosion destroyed. Their adversarial bond changes because both make a choice against immediate self-interest—she entrusts her damaged body to him, and he protects the leader whose treasure is his mission. Recovery gives Hanyue room to disclose the pressure beneath her authority. Her Demon Draconian lineage descends from a Tenebrous Demon Dragon and a human; when her father was mortally injured attempting a Heavenly God breakthrough, he transferred most of his cultivation to her. The inheritance made her a young Heavenly Emperor but imposed a severe bottleneck, while her mother temporarily shared the public Palace Master role so Hanyue could control the elders. She describes the office as lonely and says she would prefer an ordinary life, yet refuses to abandon the bloodline and institution entrusted to her. Her growing attraction to Zhou therefore conflicts not with a rival romance but with the survival duties that made her powerful in the first place. (Chapter 252)

Hanyue tests Zhou once her strength returns, then openly chooses intimacy after recognizing that he had risked his life for her people and refused to rob her while she was weak. The encounter is consensual in the depicted exchange: her initial aggression turns into an embrace she controls, and she accepts that their shared night may have no future. Zhou leaves a Saint Energy vortex within her, loosening the inherited bottleneck and strengthening her body; Hanyue deliberately leaves the Spatial Teleportation Gem where he can take it. Their intimacy thus carries a political consequence she knowingly permits: Zhou completes his mission against XuanTian Palace, while she preserves the emotional meaning of his earlier mercy instead of treating him only as a captured spy. When the surviving Terror Sea Dragon traps Zhou, Hanyue senses the battle and returns in her full Legendary Set. She attacks a Heavenly God opponent alone, abandons offense to shield Zhou when it targets him, and tries to carry him out rather than pursue glory. Their combined strikes drive the dragon away, after which she brings the unconscious Zhou to safety and leaves his gem untouched. Back at XuanTian Palace, Hanyue also protects Shangguan Bing'er, helps defuse Zhou's furious confrontation with the institution, and admits that she cannot leave because the Palace still depends on her. Zhou promises to return; Hanyue promises to wait, but their separation is a mutual acceptance that love cannot yet dissolve either leader's obligations. (Chapters 254–257, 259, 262)

An offstage bond that reshapes Zhou's restraint

During the Elf Tribe crisis, Hanyue does not accompany Zhou or his established wives. The only direct references to her are retrospective: when Zhou finds himself in an involuntary intimate situation with the Elven Queen, he compares his panic to the very different encounter with Hanyue, and he recalls deciding after their night together to restrain his womanizing. Her physical absence is therefore narratively consequential. The relationship has become part of how he judges new boundaries even before he returns to fulfill his promise to her. The chapters do not disclose Hanyue's parallel life on the Mysterious Heavenly Mainland, so her pregnancy, childbirth, and leadership during this interval cannot be reconstructed scene by scene. What is explicit later is that she remains Palace Master, gives birth to Zhou's son, and preserves the child as the mainland's successor. Her decision not to abandon XuanTian Palace at their first parting thus continues to govern the relationship: family is created across the separation, but both mother and child remain embedded in the succession system she is responsible for maintaining. Crossing the sea for her son and choosing the final battle

Hanyue eventually crosses to the Boundless Mainland on the Blackfiend Dragon, locating Zhou through the Saint Energy connection between them. She arrives not to surrender her office or quietly enter his household but with a demand: their son cannot grow up without a father, so Zhou must spend one month of every year with them on the Mysterious Heavenly Mainland. The child remains there as successor. Her terms bring her into immediate conflict with Tian'er, Wu Yuehan, and the three Shangguan sisters, who had not known about her. Hanyue nevertheless follows them toward a potentially fatal Saint Lands battle, withholding her appearance until intervention is decisive rather than allowing resentment to outweigh Zhou's survival. Her entrance changes the war. Pregnancy and childbirth have caused the Saint Energy seed inside her to elevate her from maximum Heavenly Emperor to Lower Level Heavenly God, and the Blackfiend Dragon has reached the same tier. Their bloodline fusion and complete eleven-piece set tear open the enemy Destruction Divine Territory and kill groups of Blood Red Hell and Love Valley powerhouses. Hanyue fights with lethal resolve, absorbs the attention of dozens of Heavenly Emperors, and gives the allied Saint Lands room to recover. Her motivation is personal but her action is not merely rescue: she commits the defining military power of distant XuanTian Palace to a war on Zhou's continent. (Chapters 824–831)

After Fen Tian falls, Hanyue volunteers to follow Zhou toward the Netherworld seal. She recognizes that his farewell kisses are meant to disable the other women and refuses to be tricked because she still has their son to protect. At the same time, she promises that if Zhou returns alive she will relinquish the Palace Master position and bring the child to him; Zhou answers that he will formally claim them even if he must move the entire mainland. Hanyue's choice joins her two defining loyalties rather than simply abandoning one: concern for her son keeps her from the suicidal descent, while willingness to step down makes a shared future possible. When Zhou is dragged into the Netherworld, Hanyue waits at the abyss and briefly considers withdrawing so she will no longer disrupt his other wives. Xue'er rejects that sacrifice and names them all as one family, dissolving the boundary that Hanyue's arrival created. After Zhou survives, twelve Divine Beasts accompany Hanyue back to the Mysterious Heavenly Mainland as enough force to secure her release; the final account treats the threat to pull the continents together humorously, but it confirms that separation is being actively resolved. Hanyue's latest state is alive, accepted into Zhou's family, still connected to her son and homeland, and no longer expected to bear those obligations entirely alone. (Chapters 845, 847–848)

Appearance and personality

Under the name Dreamwake, Hanyue appears as a breathtaking young woman with sapphire eyes, an alluring slender figure, and an air of majesty and absolute self-confidence. She is twenty-nine during the XuanTian expedition. Her face can shift from a faint professional smile to icy authority, while her private vulnerability emerges only after the collapse of her disguises. As the public Palace Master, she uses long blue robes, long black hair, an androgynous voice, and a wide azure mask that conceals even the skin of her neck. (Chapters 242–243 and 252)

Hanyue is proud, stubborn, perceptive, and accustomed to command. She correctly evaluates Zhou's God Tier scroll, sees through much of his cover, and refuses to hand over the Spatial Teleportation Gem even when badly wounded. In combat she is an experienced, ruthlessly decisive attacker who can identify an enemy's fear and exploit it with apparently suicidal pressure. That severity also defines her proposed family arrangement: she crosses a continent and states the time Zhou owes their son as a term, not a request. (Chapters 242, 246–254, and 824)

Her confidence coexists with isolation. Inheriting her father's power and office denies her an ordinary youth, and duty prevents her from leaving with Zhou even when both want it. Hanyue's emotional development is therefore not a transition from coldness to dependence. She remains a leader while gradually permitting trust, protecting Bing'er despite jealousy, crossing the sea for her child, and finally accepting that joining Zhou's wider family need not mean abandoning either her son or her own identity. Abilities and cultivation

Demon Draconian inheritance and cultivation

Hanyue carries the blood of a human–Tenebrous Demon Dragon union. That lineage grants a draconic physique, Tenebrous power, and eligibility for XuanTian Palace's direct-line transfer ritual. Her dying father passes most of his cultivation to her, lifting her rapidly to Heavenly Emperor; she later reaches High Level Heavenly Emperor through inheritance and her own training. The power arrives without the normal process of accumulation and creates a bottleneck that she initially believes will prevent any Heavenly God breakthrough. (Chapters 252–254)

Zhou's Saint Energy repairs her meridians, reinforces her organs, and leaves a vortex in her dantian that accelerates absorption of atmospheric energy. Intimacy with him further loosens the inherited bottleneck without immediately making her a Heavenly God. Pregnancy then leaves a pure Saint Energy seed in her body; after giving birth, it forcefully elevates her from Maximum Level Heavenly Emperor to Lower Level Heavenly God. The source attributes the breakthrough to that seed, not to a delayed completion of the ordinary transfer ritual. Her latest stated cultivation remains Lower Level Heavenly God. Attributes, movement, and combat sense

Hanyue has at least four Attributes. The chapters explicitly demonstrate Tenebrous and Water but do not securely enumerate the full set. Tenebrous power drives her dragon techniques, while Water affinity reduces the environmental burden of fighting above the ocean and lets the Saint Energy vortex sustain her from abundant Water atmospheric energy. Her identity as a God Tier Consolidating Equipment Master implies the spatial control required for that craft, but the supplied Hanyue anchors do not name every Attribute individually. Her draconic inheritance supports a Blackfiend Dragon Transformation whose clearest documented late application is fusion with the Blackfiend Dragon. Wings unfold from her back, the armor anchors her to the dragon, and their Darkness energy circulates through the joined system. Hanyue is a God Tier Consolidating Equipment Master as well as XuanTian Palace's true leader, the two positions hidden together under her Dreamwake and masked Palace Master identities. Her technical standing helps explain why Zhou initially misreads her as an elite artisan rather than the person controlling the Palace. Her craftsmanship and combat equipment are closely connected. The Blackfiend Dragon Set is an eleven-piece Legendary Set designed around union with the Blackfiend Dragon rather than independent armor alone. Blackfiend Dragon fusion and Dragon Slaying Spear

Hanyue's Blackfiend Dragon Transformation lets her merge perfectly with the Blackfiend Dragon. Energy flows through the horn and armor, their two Lower Level Heavenly God cultivation bases reinforce each other, and the dragon releases a Divine Territory capable of tearing a breach through Fen Tian's Destruction Divine Territory. The combination is described as able to contend with a Maximum Level Heavenly God, a result greater than simply adding the partners' individual power. It depends, however, on the dragon's presence and the physical connections supplied by the set. (Chapters 824–825)

The set is overwhelmingly offensive. Its blood-red spear can wound a Terror Sea Dragon, destroy Heavenly Emperor enemies in single strikes, and concentrate Hanyue's full core power into ranged penetration. Against the second Terror Sea Dragon she uses deliberate mutual-injury attacks because it fears death, gaining initiative despite its superior tier. Prolonged slaughter later slows after more than twenty enemy Heavenly Emperors fall, while dozens of others must combine to contain her. At her latest documented level, the complete set, Saint Energy resistance, Blackfiend Dragon Divine Territory, and synchronized Heavenly God partner make Hanyue one of Zhou's strongest allies. She is resistant to the enemy's Destruction Divine Territory because Zhou previously infused her with Saint Energy, not because she has general immunity to every Divine Territory. Her strength also does not erase tactical dangers: massed Heavenly Emperors can slow her, maximum-tier phenomena require retreat, and separation from the Blackfiend Dragon would remove the combined system's defining advantage.
